It was lunchtime at UA, and as usual, Deku and Todoroki were sitting with each other. Thus far, it had been an average day at UA.

"I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to this!" said Deku.

Todoroki giggled. "Deku, you've said this every time we sit down for lunch!"

"What? I mean, you are the sweetest, sexiest girl I've ever met, so how could I not look forward to being with you?"

Todoroki wrapped an arm around Deku. "Fair point!"

"Welly, welly, well, if it isn't UA's golden couple!"

Deku and Todoroki turned to see who'd addressed them, only to see Neito Monoma sitting next to them.

"And why are you here?" said Deku. "Don't you usually sit with the rest of Class 1-B?"

"Indeed, that is true, but I just wanted to hang out with two of this series' main cast before I upstaged them in my next great performance!"

Todoroki glared at Monoma. "Gloat all you want, but the fact remains that your Quirk is largely inferior to what Deku and I possess."

"Who said my upstaging had anything to do with Quirks or hero stuff in general? No, I've elected to challenge you two in a far more interesting endeavor!"

Todoroki rolled her eyes. "Oh, this should be good. Do tell us."

"For years, it has been tradition for Class 1-A and Class 1-B to challenge each other in a battle of wits, more specifically a trivia game!"

Deku put his index finger up to his chin. "A trivia game? This is my first time hearing of it. Nevertheless, we accept your challenge."

"Grand! See you after classes!"

Monoma continued to eat his food.

"Deku, are you sure about this?" asked Todoroki.

Deku smiled. "Relax, Shoko! With what we know, we've got this in the bag!"

Todoroki smiled nervously. "Well…OK, I trust you."

Later, members of Class 1-A and Class 1-B were gathered in the common area of Class 1-A's dorm for the trivia showdown. Monoma wasn't alone, for he had Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu assisting him. A table had been set up along with a sound system, where Ashido was seated. She grabbed a mic.

"Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the UA Trivia Rumble! I'm Mina Ashido, and I'll be serving as your host! The rules are simple: teams composed of representatives from Class 1-A and Class 1-B compete to see who can successfully answer a series of general knowledge questions, anything from literature, science, pop culture, history, news and so on! There will be three rounds, each with three questions, plus a final round that I'll explain when we get there. Each team is given a sheet of paper known as the "road map" to track their scores, plus a notepad on which they write down their team name, the answer and the point value they wish to wager. Each team has until the end of a song to hand in their answer. For each question, teams can wager two, four or six points. If a team gets a question right, then they earn the points that they wagered. If they get it wrong; they don't lose the points; they just won't earn them. Once a team uses a point value on a question, they can't use it again in that round, so use it wisely!

There are a few rules: first of all, don't shout out answers, regardless of whether or not you're playing. If somebody shouts out an answer, I will discard the question and replace it with a new question. Also, no cell phones, laptops or any other piece of reference material is allowed to be used during the game, and nobody is allowed to use their Quirks to help them. If I catch a team member using any of these, that team is automatically disqualified. Once a team member hands an answer in, I cannot give that answer back, so think carefully! Also, if you don't know an answer, just guess, but don't forget to put your team name and a point value down! If you forget to put a point value, I will automatically wager the lowest point value that you haven't wagered. Also, listen carefully

Now then, it's time for Round 1! Round 1's categories are: TV, math and geography. That's TV, math and geography. For the TV question: What was the name of a popular detective series that starred Telly Savalas in the title role? Again, what was the name of a popular detective series that starred Telly Savalas in the title role?"

For the song, Ashido played "We'll Make It This Time" by Sammy Davis Jr., but even without that subtle hint, Todoroki knew the answer:

"It's Kojak."

"Right."

Deku – who was also handling the road map – wrote down the answer, their team name – The Golden Duo – and wagered six points on it. He then handed the slip of paper to Todoroki, who gave it to Ashido. After the song, Ashido chimed in with the answer:

"And the correct answer is…Kojak!"

Having gotten the first question correct, Deku and Todoroki gave each other a fist bump. Monoma and Tetsutetsu's team – The Steel Showmen – weren't so lucky. Meanwhile, Ashido brought up the next question:

"Now, for math: what is 48 divided by 12? Again, what is 48 divided by 12?"

For this question, Ashido played "The Four Horsemen" by Metallica, which was a big clue to Todoroki:

"It's four."

Without question, Deku put that answer down and coincidentally wagered four points on it. Because this song was seven minutes long, Ashido cut it off after the guitar solo leading into the bridge, after which she gave the answer:

"And the correct answer is…four!"

Once again, Deku and Todoroki celebrated with a fist bump, although their opponents had gotten the question correct as well.

"And now, our geography question: Minsk is the capital of which European country? Again, Minsk is the capital of which European country?"

For this question, Ashido played "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" by Meghan Trainor and John Legend. For the first time in the game, Todoroki was stumped:

"I don't know the answer to this one."

"Neither do I, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's somewhere in Eastern Europe, like Lithuania."

"OK, then let's go with that."

Deku wrote down the answer, and Todoroki handed it in. Ashido then gave the answer:

"And the correct answer is…Belarus!"

For the first time in the game, Deku and Todoroki got it wrong, but even though Monoma and Tetsutetsu got it right, the green bean and bicolor beauty weren't about to give up.

"And now, on to Round Two!" said Ashido. "Our categories are science…"

Everyone let out an emphatic "SCIENCE!"

"…music and classic literature. Again, that's science, music and classic literature. For the science question: what is the symbol for gold on the Periodic Table? Again, what is the symbol for gold on the Periodic Table?"

For the song, Ashido played "24K Magic" by Bruno Mars.

"I don't know this one," said Todoroki.

"I do," said Deku.

"What is it?"

Deku wrote down "Au" on a slip of paper along with the team name and six points. Todoroki eyed it curiously.

"Are you sure this is the answer?"

Deku smiled. "100% positive."

"OK…"

Todoroki handed in the answer, and then Ashido announced it:

"And the correct answer is…Au!"

Deku and Todoroki gave each other another fist bump, while Ashido moved on to the next question:

"For Music: who sang the 2017 hit 'Despacito'? Again, who sang the 2017 hit 'Despacito'?"

Ashido played the song in question, more specifically the original mix by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. However, this wasn't apparent to either Deku nor Todoroki:

"I don't know this one," said Todoroki.

"Neither do I," said Deku. "The only Spanish-language artist I can name is J Balvin."

"Then we'll go with him."

Deku only put two points on this question, and after the song, Ashido did her bit:

"And the correct answer is…Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee! If you put down Justin Bieber alongside them, I'll accept that, too, but not if you only put Justin Bieber. Now, moving on to Classic Literature: which author wrote the first detective story? Again, which author wrote the first detective story?"

For this question, Ashido played "The Raven" by The Alan Parsons Project, but the hint soared over Deku and Todoroki's heads:

"I don't know this one, either," said Todoroki.

"I'm not sure either, but I wanna say it's Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the guy who created Sherlock Holmes," said Deku.

"That sounds plausible. Let's go with him."

And so, Deku put down that answer plus four points, after which Ashido gave the answer:

"And the correct answer is…Edgar Allan Poe!"

Both teams let out a collective "WHAT!?" when they received this surprise, to which Ashido explained further:

"He introduced the character of C. Auguste Dupin in the short story The Murders In the Rue Morgue, published in 1841! Moving on, our categories for Round Three are: history, 80s movies, and On This Day. Again, that's history, 80s movies, and On This Day. For our history question: what day did Adolf Hitler kill himself? Again, what day did Adolf Hitler kill himself?"

For the song, Ashido played "Groovin'" by the Young Rascals. Again, this was a bit of a poser:

"I don't know the answer to this one, either," said Todoroki. "God, these questions are getting tough!"

"Relax, I've got the answer to this one."

"What?"

Deku whispered to Todoroki: "April 30, 1945."

"OK, I trust you."

Deku wrote the answer down plus a wager of six points, and Todoroki submitted it. Then, Ashido rattled out the answer once the song was done:

"And the correct answer is…April 30, 1945!"

Once again, Deku and Todoroki gave each other fist bumps, while Ashido moved on to the next question:

"For 80s movies: what year was the first Back to the Future movie originally released? Again, what year was the first Back to the Future movie originally released?"

For the song, Ashido played "1985" by Bowling For Soup. Even without that hint, Todoroki still knew the answer:

"It's 1985. I forget the exact day, but I know it was 1985."

"Right."

Deku put down four points, and once again, Todoroki handed in the answer. As usual, once the song ended, Ashido told everybody the correct answer:

"And the correct answer is…1985! You weren't required to put down the exact date, but if you did, more power to you!"

Once again, Deku and Todoroki gave each other a fist bump, while Ashido moved on to the last question before the final round:

"For On This Day: which American president was assassinated on this day in 1963? Again, which American president was assassinated on this day in 1963?"

For this round, Ashido played "California Über Alles" by the Dead Kennedys. Even without this hint, Todoroki actually knew the answer:

"It was John F. Kennedy."

"Gotcha."

Because Deku had used up all the other point values, he could only wager two points. Again, Ashido gave out the correct answer:

"And the correct answer is…John F. Kennedy!"

Again, Deku and Todoroki gave each other a fist bump, though it was clear that Monoma and Tetsutetsu got it right as well, as evidenced by Ashido giving out the score:

"Before I get into the final question, I'd like to go over the scores for each team. The score is…OH MY DAMN CHERRY BLOSSOMS!* Both teams are tied at 28 points each!"

Deku and Todoroki gave each other a stunned look. How Monoma's team managed to match them beat-for-beat was beyond them, but it was clear that they would need a miracle to leave them in the dust. Soon, they would get that chance courtesy of Ashido:

"And now, it's time for our final question! For this one, you can wager anywhere from zero to 20 points, and if you get the question right, you get those points. If, however, you get the question wrong, you lose all the points you wagered, so plan carefully! Now, our final question: what was the gun used by Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry movies? Again, what was the gun used by Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry movies? I'm looking for a model name, not just a caliber."

For the final question, Ashido played the Magnum Force theme. This question would've been a poser for many people, but not for Todoroki:

"It was the Smith & Wesson Model 29. Put 20 points on this."

"Are you sure?"

Todoroki nodded. "I'm way beyond positive."

Without question, Deku put that answer down and Vegased it. Judging by the fact that Monoma's team took longer to submit their answer, it appeared that Deku and Todoroki had this one all but in the bag. Ashido put out the answer:

"And the correct answer is…the Smith & Wesson Model 29! Now for our winner: in first place with 48 points, it's The Golden Duo!"

Deku and Todoroki gave each other a big hug and kiss to celebrate their victory, after which they came over to Monoma's team to congratulate them for putting up a heck of a fight:

"Good game, Monoma!" said Deku. "You really gave us a challenge tonight!"

"Gloat all you want, Midoriya and Todoroki!" said Monoma. "Next year, it'll be Class 1-B's turn to take center stage!"

"Hey Monoma, I'm pretty pissed about losin' too, but do we need to be poor sports about it?" said Tetsutetsu.

Todoroki smiled. "Tetsutetsu's right. Regardless of who won or lost, having fun should be the most important thing."

Deku smiled as he looked at Todoroki, once again proud of how far she'd come.
