Deku was in his dorm watching Fairy Tail on his computer. He discovered the anime completely by accident when browsing through the Fandom website. However, since he was looking for new anime to watch anyways, he decided to give it a shot. He loved the show, mainly because of its mix of humor and action. That, and he thought Lucy Heartfilia was really hot. Granted, she was a fictional character, and she would never replace Todoroki, but still, he figured that she probably fantasized about certain fictional characters as well. Besides, lust was a normal human emotion. While he was enjoying the show, he heard a frantic knocking on his door.
"Come in."
Deku paused the show, and Todoroki burst into the room, grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him.
"Deku, you have to help me!"
"Shoko, what's wrong?"
"Remember that new girl I became friends with a couple of weeks ago?"
Deku raised an eyebrow. "What about her?"
"So, we were hanging out at the restaurant I like, and we were having a good time, but then she asked how school was going, and I told her that it was pretty rough, but I was doing all right, and you know what she did?"
Deku began sweating a bit. "What?"
"She gave me these pills and told me I'd feel better if I took them!"
Todoroki produced a small baggie of round white pills, which Deku gasped upon seeing. While he was no stranger to hearing about illegal drugs, this was the first time that it had hit home for him. Worried about his dear bicolor girlfriend, he just couldn't help but ask:
"Shoko, please tell me you didn't take any of those!"
Todoroki shook her head rapidly. "N-no, I swear! I…I figured I should talk to you first to be sure!"
Deku swiped the pills from Todoroki and formed an angry look on his face. "Well, I'm glad you didn't, because that would be a stupid thing to do! You don't just take pills from people you don't trust! What if they were laced with poison!? How would your parents feel if the police came to your house and said, 'we're sorry, but your daughter died of a drug overdose'!?"
Feeling that she'd messed up royally, Todoroki tried her best to comprehend what Deku was saying to her and to hold herself together, but fell to her knees crying.
"DEKU, I'M SORRY! I DIDN'T KNOW THOSE WERE BAD FOR ME! PLEASE DON'T BE ANGRY!"
Deku gasped at the sight of Todoroki breaking down like this, and in some way, he felt bad that this happened even though he wasn't necessarily to blame. Still, he knew what he had to do:
"Shoko, I…I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry! I just didn't want you to hurt yourself!"
Deku got on his knees and gave Todoroki a big hug. Naturally, she returned it. While it was never easy for the green bean to see his bicolor girl in distress like this, he always had the satisfaction of knowing that he could be there for her when she needed it most. Granted, he was still shocked that she brought illegal drugs to him that somebody had given her, but still, he could tell deep down inside that her heart was in the right place, and he was lucky to have a girl like her. Similarly, Todoroki was lucky to have Deku. Even if he did get a bit charged up when he was warning her about the ills of pills, she was grateful that he gave her this warning and saved her from doing something stupid. That was one of the many things she loved about him: even if she wasn't the most streetwise person out there, he was so understanding and forgiving when it came to her mistakes, and she loved the fact that he still loved her regardless. Eventually, she stopped crying, but she continued hugging Deku, basking in his comfort. Even though she backed away from the hug once she'd had her fill, she kept her hands on him as she gazed into his eyes.
"Thank you, Deku. You saved my life!"
Deku smiled. "You're welcome, Shoko! I'm glad! Here…"
Deku handed Todoroki some tissues, which she blew her nose with.
"Shoko, I'm not gonna tell the police or the faculty about this. I do, however, want you to do a few things for me…"
Todoroki smiled. "Name them!"
"First of all, burn the pills until there's nothing left."
"Got it."
Todoroki took the pills with her left hand and disintegrated them with her flames.
"Second, next time someone offers you drugs like that, promise me you'll tell the police or a school staff member?"
Todoroki frowned. "But why? Didn't you say you weren't going to tell the police?"
"I did, but only because I didn't want you to get in trouble for accepting the pills.
Todoroki nodded. "Right."
"Third, please snuggle with me. Snugs not drugs, right?"
Todoroki laughed. "Oh, you silly boy!"
Todoroki wrapped her arms around Deku and ruffled his hair as she wrestled him to the floor. Once again, their relationship had experienced a challenge and beaten the odds.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
