Stiles waited until he heard the front door shut and the cruiser leave the driveway before he rushed out of his bedroom, he burst through the door directly across the hall in a flail of limbs

"Evangaline!"

He stopped short in the doorway, losing enthusiasm as he took in the room before him. Dark green walls scattered in varied photo collages, mirrored double doors on the closet, desk covered in makeup and knickknacks, books scattered on the floors. Evangaline "Evie" Stilinski lay on her stomach diagonally across her plush cream colored bed, long elegant limbs covered in an oversized baby pink sweatsuit, blonde hair piled haphazardly on top of her head large headphones covered her ears and Stiles could hear some panic at the disco song blaring loud enough he wondered how she could even be asleep.

Stiles noticed the black boot she was supposed to be wearing on her left foot to support the stress fracture she got from dancing a few weeks ago laying forgotten in the floor and rolled his eyes knowing she was probably practicing for the upcoming dance season even against doctors' advice.

Deciding against waking her up for his last-minute adventure he backed out the room and closed the door behind himself. He grabbed his hoodie and his car keys and moved on to plan two – Scott.

...

"Let me see if I get this straight" Evie said leaning against the kitchen counter waiting for the coffee pot to finish brewing. "You listened in on dads phone calls again, and in response to hearing about a dead body you decided the best course of action was to not only go out in the middle of the night to the woods to look for said body, but you also dragged poor Scott along with you?"

Stiles sat at the kitchen table shoveling fruit loops into his mouth nodding along as she spoke "Yeah that about sums it up actually"

Evie raised an eyebrow in disbelief "And he got hurt?"

"Yup"

"Okay, if you don't like reckless, I could use insouciant maybe"

Stiles snorted "Don't quote supernatural at me"

Evie sighed and shook her head as the coffee pot beeped at her. "So, what's the plan for this year Stiles? You going to try to make first line with Scott? Make Lydia fall in love with you? Become the world's only consulting detective?"

Stiles looked at his sister, two years older, tall with long limbs like stiles but instead of the clumsy movements he still possessed hers were graceful. They had the same big whiskey brown eyes, full lips, upturned nose, Evie got her sandy blonde hair from their father and was easily beautiful in a way stiles would never be. She wore a simple black t shirt dress with a brown bomber jacket a cream-colored knit hat covered her head, and she wore a tall brown boot on one foot, the black medical boot on the other did nothing to take away from the look. She was smart like he was but without the added difficulty of the ADHD and had always made friends easily, they were all in all very similar and very different. With losing their mother so young Evie had helped raise him, and he knew she worried about him. They were about as close as two siblings could get.

Stiles threw an arm over Evie's shoulder and sighed "That my dear Watson remains to be seen"

...

By the time Evie pulled her car into the high school parking lot Stiles was already out of his jeep and waiting at the entrance for Scott. Evie wasn't quite sure how because they had left the house at the same time, all she could do was shake her head. She took her time getting her messenger bag and travel mug of coffee. This was her last first day of high school, she was a senior and had turned 18 a couple weeks before the school year started. She had always taken AP classes and because of that she had more credits than she usually would, she was only taking enough classes to be at school three days out of the week, the other days she was working with her father at the sheriff's station.

By the time she reached Stiles, Scott had arrived and was showing her brother a large white bandage taped to his side. Stiles reached out a hand to touch it and Evie slapped him over the back of his head, Stiles squawked indignantly, and Scott dropped his shirt startled at her sudden appearance.

"Scott" Evie sighed laying her hands on his cheeks and squeezing slightly "Poor sweet Scott. Please stop following my brother's crazy plans"

Scott blushed glancing around making sure nobody was watching the display, he chuckled ignoring Stiles protests "I try Evie, he's not exactly easy to say no to"

Evie barked out a laugh and dropped her hands, Stiles stood there looking at her proud and smug, she winked at him "That Stilinski charm"

She noticed Lydia making her way towards them behind the boys and fought the urge to roll her eyes. The girl was beautiful and smart, but she was shallow and vapid too. She didn't give Stiles the time of day even though they all grew up together. Evie wished Stiles would pick someone else to fixate on but when he put his mind to something it stuck. Stilinski's were stubborn, especially about the things that captured their affections.

Not wanting to see Stiles try and fail to get the girls attention Evie hiked her bag up higher on her shoulder "My first class is across the school, so I better head that way, you two behave yourselves" She warned. "I'll see you at practice"

...

Evie walked to the lacrosse field with Caleb another senior and her dance partner, she watched him stop mid sentence when his eyes landed on their goalie Danny and smirked. "You know you have to actually talk to him this year right? We're seniors you're going to run out of time" she teased nudging him with her elbow.

He signed "You don't think he'll think I'm a weirdo?" He asked fiddling with the zipper on his jacket nervously.

Evie roller her eyes, "Danny has a late birthday and you have an early one, there's only a year and a half age difference. Stop making excuses"

Caleb motioned to the field where Jackson had thrown his arm over Danny's shoulder and glared at some poor freshman who had dared try to speak to him "What about Jackson the jackass? I'll have to deal with him too"

Evie frowned, she had never understood that particular friendship, Danny was popular sure but he was genuinely a sweet guy and Jackson was as much of an asshole as anyone could be. She supposed Jackson and Lydia were evenly matched in that regard. She noticed said redhead on the bleachers with the new girl, a pretty brunette who seemed to have captured the attention of most of the student body in the few short hours she'd been there. She almost felt sorry for the girl being corralled by the queen bee so soon, but that had nothing to do with her.

"Well do you think Danny is worth the effort?" Evie asked tilting her head at him curiously.

She burst into laughter when he immediately started to blush. "Come on, lets go sit down" She tugged on his arm and pulled him along with her to the bleachers taking a seat on the row behind the players bench.

She noted Scott making his was uncertainly to the goal and groaned. She lightly kicked Stiles where he sat in front of her and skillfully avoided his flailing limbs as she leaned forward to speak to him "What the hell is Scott doing in the goal?"

He gaped at her unable to answer before coach blew the whistle and Scott immediately took a ball to the front of his helmet and hit the ground. The Stilinski siblings winced in unison "Oh that's brutal" Stiles whispered.

Evie was surprised but impressed when Scott immediately rallied getting to his feet quickly and catching the next ball that was thrown. And the next. And the next. Stiles and Evie jumped to their feet screaming in excitement, arms thrown up in celebration Evie let out a loud appreciative whistle. Caleb laughed at the over enthusiastic siblings clapping along with them.

"That is my friend!"

...

"I don't know what it was. It was like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball." Scott explained as the trio walked through the preserve, Evie huffing in irritation behind them struggling through the leaves and sticks in her boot. "And that's not the only weird thing. I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. Smell things.."

"Smell things? Like what?" Stiles asked.

"Like the mint mojito gum in your pocket." He answered and then nodded back at Evie "or the red bull you spilled on your coat earlier"

" A red bull- Evie!" Stiles scolded at the same time that Evie gasped at Scott in betrayal dramatically clutching at her chest. "You're not supposed to have that much caffeine Evangeline" Stiles continued.

Evie rolled her eyes "I'm an adult I'll do what I want"

Stiles scoffed "That kind of nullifies your anxiety medication don't you think"

Scott interrupted them before she could answer his voice suddenly panicked "You guys! Focus what if its like an infection? Like my body's flooded with adrenaline before I go into shock or something?"

"You know what? I think I've heard this before. It's a specific kind of infection" Stiles said seriously. They came to a stop, Evie raised an incredulous eye brow at her brother. "You serious?" Scott asked

"Yeah, yeah I think it's called Lycanthropy."

Evie rolled her eyes sighing at her brothers inability to take anything seriously. "What is it? Is it bad?" Scott asked warily.

"It's the worst. But only once a month" Stiles answered.

"Once a month?"

"Yeah on the night of the full moon" Stiles answered seriously before jokingly howling like a wolf.

Scott glared and shoved his shoulders. Stiles laughed and Evie squeeze Scott's arm reassuringly, "Ignore him Scott you'll be fine"

"But if you're not and you see me at school trying to melt down all the silver I can find it's because Friday's the full moon" Stiles continued unconcerned.

Scott suddenly stopped walking and Evie glanced around she didn't know how Scott knew this was the right place it all looked the same to her.

"I could've sworn this was it. I dropped my inhaler, I saw the body, and the deer came running" Scott said bending down and brushing through the leaves.

"Maybe the killer moved the body" Stiles casually suggested.

"That's comforting" Evie snorted, walking a few feet away from them.

"Well, if they did I hope they left my inhaler, those things are like eighty bucks"

Evie ignored the comment bending down to adjust her boot, walking on it this long was starting to irritate her. She balanced on her good foot and rolled her ankle and groaned at the sharp pain in her bottom of her foot.

Suddenly a throat cleared behind her and she gasped. Spinning around in surprise she lost her footing and landed heavily on her behind in the damp leaves.

Her head snapped up and she came face to face with a harsh scowl and pretty green eyes.
