Author's note: I just want to say thank you to everyone who's read and commented on my story. Also thank you for the different ideas about Pokémon Izuku should have, definitely taking them into consideration.
It's Izuku's tenth birthday, and Ingo and Emmet are setting things up. They wonder if he will like the presents they got for him. They have their Pokémon keeping Izuku distracted outside while they finish the last minute decorations. They are just doing a little celebration in the home with only the three of them. Right as they finish by putting the cake on the table Ingo walks to the back door and opens it to see Izuku petting Galvantula who is purring under the attention. "Izuku come inside," Ingo calls, watching as Izuku walks over and follows Ingo inside. "Happy Birthday," Ingo and Emmet say after bringing him into the living room. Izuku smiles happily while Emmet says, " Time for presents!!"
As they all sit in the living room Emmet hands Izuku the first present which was in a big flat box, Izuku takes it carefully and with wonder. He opens it slowly to reveal a coat that looks just like Emmet and Ingo's coats just in a deep emerald green. Izuku lifts it up carefully and he can't help but smile and cry because he's so happy. "Thank you so much," he says while holding it up. They both smile while Ingo hands him the second present which is a round box. Izuku takes it after gently setting the coat down next to him. He opens this one to see the matching hat that goes with the outfit. Izuku starts trembling with how happy he is, tears flowing down his face with how much this means to him. He gets up before they can hand him the final gift and hugs both Ingo and Emmet. "You're both the best dad and papa in the whole universe." He says happily. Ingo and Emmet look shocked for a moment before both are hugging him back and saying, "You are the best child anyone can ask for, and the best thing to happen to us." "One question though for you Izuku, who's papa and who's dad?" Emmet asks with the biggest smile Ingo has ever seen him have. "Really Emmet," Ingo says. "Yes really I'm hoping I'm not the no fun serious dad but the fun loving adventurous papa, " Emmet replies. Izuku blushes at the realization he called them papa and dad out loud. "Your papa and your dad," Izuku says pointing at Emmet when saying papa and pointing at Ingo when saying dad. "Hah that's right I'm Emmet the fun papa," Emmet says happily. "Well I'm Ingo the great dad, Also brother he called me dad before he called you papa," Ingo replies with a small smile. Emmet gapes at his brother for a moment before turning away and pouting. Izuku laughs at this while picking up the two presents he received. "Izuku why don't you go change while we get your last present ready," Ingo says standing up. Izuku smiles and says," Okay be back in a minute."
Izuku then runs upstairs wondering what the present his dad and papa got him is going to be. He goes into his room and gets dressed into the new clothes before looking in the mirror and seeing he looks just like his parents, just in green. Izuku then makes his way downstairs to see his dad and papa sitting in the living room with a box on the coffee table. Izuku makes his way over with a small smile. "Today is the day you get your first Pokémon and we got you a very special Pokémon," Papa says with a huge smile. "I can't wait to meet my first Pokémon," Izuku replies while opening the box, only to sit in shock as sitting in the box wasn't one but two Pokéballs. Izuku looks up in question, only to see papa and dad looking away from him and each other in embarrassment. "We couldn't decide which one Pokémon to give you so we decided we both pick one to give you. Now enough derailment let's get this train back on track," Ingo boisterously replies motioning towards the Pokéballs. Izuku nods before picking both up, calling out "All aboard." In a double flash of lights the two Pokémon are revealed. One was a little yellow spider with blue eyes and four legs. "Jol-joltik," Joltik chitters happily while looking at Izuku. The other light revealed a little candle with a purple flame and yellow eye. "Liii-litwick," Litwick trills out curiously staring at Izuku. Izuku smiles, " It's very nice to meet you Joltik and Litwick, my names Izuku." The two Pokémon cheer happily before Izuku gently pets them while smiling. "Do you like your starters?" Emmet questions with a nervous smile. "They're perfect, I couldn't ask for better Pokémon. Now that I have them I can travel to catch more Pokémon for my team and challenge the gyms, starting with Striaton Gym," Izuku responds. Both Emmet and Ingo smile happily before saying,"We thought that might be the case so we also got you this. All that we ask is that you be careful and call every once in a while." They hand over a trainer shoulder bag already packed with supplies. "Also if Striaton Gym is your destination you can ride the train that's heading to Nuvema town this afternoon at one o'clock to drop supplies off to Nuvema Town station for Professor's Juniper lab . It won't get you all the way to your destination but it will make it so you don't have to travel as far by foot and get to start like other beginner trainers do," Ingo says in thought. "That's a perfect idea dad. That also gives me time to spend with you two and get to know my new Pokémon before we leave." Izuku says excitedly. They spend the rest of time before leaving talking with each other and asking Izuku if he wants to take their last name Kandó, which Izuku happily accepts. After talking that bit out and sending in the paperwork that will officially make Izuku their child. They watch as Izuku interacts and talks with Joltik and Litwick until it's time to leave. At three they leave for Gear Station arriving with time to spare before Izuku's train. Making sure that's he settled Emmet says, " Remember Izuku to follow all safety checks, if something looks like it's going to derail, get away. We want you back home safe more than anything." Ingo adds, "Yes you're our son we love and care about you. Follow the schedule and stay safe." They both hug him before stepping out as the train doors close. Izuku waves to them as heads out on his journey, Ingo and Emmet waving back.
Emmet looks to Ingo with a smile full of worry and asks, "Do you think we are doing the right thing letting him go on his journey?" "We went on our journeys when we were ten and so does almost every trainer. As his parents we have to let him go down his own track. But that doesn't mean we can't call Professor Juniper and ask if she can check to make sure Izuku got to Nuvema Town safely." Emmet smiles at that and says," That would make me feel veeerrry much better than if we didn't." Ingo nods before they both head to the office to place the call.
