After what felt like forever, Jaune Arc woke up in what can only be described as a grassy field near a town with a huge train station. He look confused for the first couple of seconds, wondering where he was. Then he remembered his deal with Chris, the all powerful being that sent him on a journey throughout the Multiverse just for his own entertainment. The young man knew what he had to do.
He had to find out whatever Chris wanted him to do in this world and complete it, otherwise he would never live up to his head of the deal. Now Jaune Arc was not stupid, he had a good feeling that Chris may not live up to his end of the deal. But if there was even a slim possibility that he would, he would have to take it.
After all, a lot of good people would end up being saved if Chris lived up to the end of the deal. So if it meant years of hardship, then it would all be worth it in the end!
So with no other words spoken to himself, Jaune begin making his way into the town, which he saw was named Wedgehurst from a nearby sign.
'Okay, so how am I going to do this. I don't know where I am, or what I'm supposed to do. I guess that's the thing with all powerful beings. They never tell you what you're meant to do. Now how am I supposed to know what a Pokemon is...wait... I know exactly what it is, but how?' thought Jaune to himself, as suddenly out of nowhere he knew what a pokémon was.
They were apparently a species of powerful creatures with the powers of harnessing the very forces of nature like grass, water, fire, electricity, etc. He also knew there was over a thousand known species, but new ones were being discovered. He also knew they came out of variety of types, usually single type or dual type. He also knew they had the abilities and move sets that either had something to do with status, physical, or special. How on Remnant did he know all of this suddenly?
'I bet Chris has something to do with this.' thought Jaune, who quickly deduced that the all-powerful being he made a deal with earlier must have given him the information he needed in order to become a Pokemon trainer or whatever.
Jaune wasn't sure about the legality of about everything, especially forcing two creatures to fight each other. But apparently pokémon are completely cool with it,and willingly follow commands to fight each other. He didn't understand how that works, but he figured different worlds, different rules kind of scenario.
"Okay, now how am I going to get a pokémon to start my journey on."said Jaune to himself, wondering what his next move was going to be.
Then out of nowhere he heard a bunch of girls squealing like they had seen something extremely cute.
"Oh my Arceus! There's a Buneary at the train station!"said one of the screaming girls as she passed Jaune, not even giving him the time of day.
"Yeah! I've never seen one before since they're not native to Galar! I wonder if she came from the Isle of Armor!"shouted her friend before they passed Jaune and headed to the train station.
"What the heck is a Buneary."said Jaune to himself, before he decided to go check it out as he was curious.
About a few minutes later he arrived at the train station where he saw a bunch of people taking photos of a rabbit like Pokemon. Specifically, it is a small, bipedal, rabbit-like Pokémon with brown ears that can curl up. It has two types of fur covering its body: a light tan fleece that covers much of its lower body, feet, and the tips of its ears, and a smooth, chocolate-colored pelt on the upper half of its body. It has a small, triangular pink nose, pink paw pads on the undersides of its feet, and small tan spots above its eyes. It has a small brown puff of a tail.
"That is literally one of the cutest things I've ever seen."said Jaune to himself, admiring the rabbit Pokemon before noticing the uncomfortable look she look like she had on her face.
The rabbit pokémon was clearly uncomfortable with all the attention she was getting, especially the people snapping photos of her. Jaune, feeling bad for the pokémon quickly rushed in from the crowd and pick it up. He didn't ran away as fast as his legs could take.
"Hey! We were still taking photos!"shouted one of the girls from earlier.
"Hey, I think I see a Slowpoke!"said another person from the crowd, causing them to turn their attention to another Pokemon.
Jaune meanwhile ran into a nearby and was panting the whole time. He was used to running thanks to his training with the Atlas military. But what he was not used to was running that hard, especially with a little bowl of fluff in his arms.
The young man look down at Buneary, and saw that she was looking at him with a curious look.
"I'm not too fond of paparazzi either. I bet it was scary having all those people taking your photo."said the young man to the rabbit Pokemon.
"Bun bun!"said Buneary, who look like it was happy to be away from all those people.
"That was quite a nice thing to do, young man."said someone behind Jaune.
The young man extensively turn around to face an old lady wearing a yellow sundress and a lab coat. Her snow white hair was tied up in a bun, and she had thick pair of glasses over her eyes. She also appeared to be using a custom-made walking stick to move around.
"Who are you?"inquired Jaune, wondering who this old lady was.
"I am Professor Magnolia. I am the local researcher of Pokemon here in Galar. I came over for my house when I heard there was a Buneary at Wedgehurst station, and I arrived just in time to see you save that poor little pokémon from onlookers who treated it nothing more than a spectacle."said Professor Magnolia, identifying herself and explaining why she was there in the first place.
"Well she didn't look so comfortable being there. So I decided to step in and help."said Jaune, explaining why he saved the rabbit Pokemon.
Buneary on the other hand was snuggling to the young man's plated chest. Like it was happy to see him.
"It appears you a form some kind of bond with the rabbit Pokemon. Are you a Pokemon trainer?"inquired Professor Magnolia.
"... No, but I'm aspiring to be one."said Jaune in a quick answer.
"Well it appears that pokémon has grown fond of you for saving her. so why don't you make her your first Pokemon. Buneary evolve into Lopunny, and I can tell you first time from my years of experience that they're quite strong pokémon despite their adorable and beautiful appearances."said Professor Magnolia before she pulled out something from her coat pocket.
It was a ball of some kind that was read on top, white on the bottom, had a black line in the middle, and at the very center was what appeared to be a white circular button. Jaune immediately recognized that as a pokeball thanks to the memories Chris had implanted into his brain. It was apparently a miraculous device that allowed pokémon trainers to carry around their Pokemon easier.
"Are you sure I'm worthy of capturing Buneary and making her my first Pokemon?"inquired Jaune, wondering if he was worthy after everything that had happened.
Professor Magnolia could see that this young man had baggage on his shoulders. Not literally but metaphorically. She can tell her there was something waiting on his conscience, but she does merely handed the pokeball over to him a second later.
"Trust your instincts and do what's right for you?"was all the professor would say.
Jaune looked at the pokeball for a few seconds before looking over at Buneary who was still nuzzling his chest.
"Buneary... Do you want to come along with me on my journey as my first Pokemon?"inquired Jaune, wondering if the rabbit Pokemon wanted to go along with him.
"Buneary bun bun!"said the rabbit pokémon as she gave a thumbs up.
"I would take that as a yes."said Professor Magnolia with a smile.
Jaune smiled as well as he pressed the pokeball against the rabbit Pokemon's head. A second later it opened up and absorbed Buneary inside. The pokeball quickly closed itself shut, and it began wiggling a few seconds later in the young man's hand. A couple of moments later, it stopped wiggling in a quick sound was heard. This indicated that the rabbit Pokemon Buneary had been successfully captured.
"Yes! I just caught a Buneary!"said Jaune, who was glad to have added the rabbit Pokemon to his team.
"I have a good feeling you two are going to be the best of friends. Now do you have anywhere you can stay for the moment? I don't think you're from this town, since most young men do not wear armor around there chests."said Professor Magnolia while looking the young man up and down.
"No... I don't have anywhere to stay."Jaune answered honestly, since he literally did not know what his next move would be.
He already had a Buneary as a starter Pokemon, but where was he going to go from here! He literally had nowhere else to go! So what on Remnant was he going to do! He could survive in the woods, but he didn't know how dangerous wild Pokemon could be. Plus it did not help that he did not have Crocea Mors anymore.
Professor Magnolia looked at the young man with pity before an idea appeared in her head. She didn't look the young man straight in the eye.
"Then how about you come with me? I have plenty of room at my house."said Professor Magnolia, confusing Jaune greatly.
He didn't understand why this stranger was offering him a place in her home in spite of the fact they just barely met. It didn't make sense to him, so he just had to ask his next question.
"Are you sure it's a good idea for a stranger like me do stay in your house? You don't even know my name."said Jaune, as the professor did not know his name.
"Oh, where are my manners. What is your name, young man?"inquired Professor Magnolia.
"My name is Jaune Arc. I'm from somewhere far away, and I'm here in Galar for reasons."said Jaune, who was technically telling the truth.
"Hmm... Are you perhaps here to take on Leon Laventon, be undefeated Pokemon League champion of Galar."said Professor Magnolia, as most trainers came to Galar to take on Leon.
"Umm... Yeah, that's the reason I'm here."said Jaune, lying through his teeth as he quickly in that moment made an educated guess that Chris wanted him to defeat Leon.
He wasn't sure if that was the quest that Chris sent them on, but that was the best idea he had at the time. So he would just have to go for it.
"Well I'm sorry to say young man that you can't defeat Leon at your current level. And besides, he will only take on Pokemon trainers taking on the Gym Challenge and complete it."said Professor Magnolia, causing the natural blonde to look at her with a confused look.
"Gym Challenge?"Jaune inquired with interest.
"The gym challenge is the annual competition where Pokemon trainers from all across Galar take on eight pokémon gyms located all throughout Galar for a chance to take on Leon. A Pokemon trainer must collect 8 gym badges from pokémon trainers known as Gym Leaders at each Pokemon gym. Once a pokémon trainer collects eight, they have a chance to take on the gym challenge where they will battle it out until only one is left. Then that individual has to take on the gym leaders they defeated before, only they will be battling more seriously. Once there is only one person left, that individual has a chance to take on Leon."explains Professor Magnolia carefully.
"And I'm guessing each of these Gym Leaders fights with different strategies and types."said Jaune, trying to get information out of Professor Magnolia.
"Yes. Each gym leader specializes with a different Pokemon type, and they have different strategies to make sure only the strongest of gym challengers arrive to face them off later."said Professor Magnolia, basically explaining what was going on.
"I see... And how does one take part in the Gym Challenge?"Jaune inquired, as he figured there had to be qualifications to get in.
"All you need is an endorsement from someone in the Pokemon League. If you want, I can endorse you since I am a member of the Pokemon League."said Professor Magnolia, offering the young man a chance to take part of the Gym Challenge.
"You would really do that for a stranger like me?"Jaune inquired with interest.
"Now Jaune. I know we just met, but I can tell you are a good kind young man. I saw for myself how you helped out Buneary, so I know you have what it takes to take on the Gym Challenge. Now the only thing you need is a proper Pokemon team. Buneary may be your starter Pokemon, but you're going to need more Pokemon than her in order to properly take on the Gym Challenge."said Professor Magnolia, basically telling the young man to get more Pokemon.
"I see... Well first I need to know what Buneary is capable of."said Jaune, as he did not know what the rabbit pokémon could do.
"Most Buneary know pound attack. And she'll definitely learn more movies as you go along your journey, especially after she evolves into Lopunny."explains Professor Magnolia, who pulls out a device to show Jaune what Buneary will evolve into.
"Wow, so beautiful."said Jaune, who was impressed.
"Now how about you come to my house and I'll teach you a thing or two about how to be a proper Pokemon trainer. You're going to need it if you want to take on Leon in the end."said Professor Magnolia with a smile.
"I think I'll definitely take you up on that offer."said Jaune with a smile before he followed the professor as soon as she motions for him to follow her.
A couple of moments later, Jaune and Professor Magnolia were walking through the streets of Wedgehurst. The young man noticed that he was getting strange looks from everyone, most likely by the way he was dressed.
"Um, could I borrow some money so I can buy some new clothes. I think I stand out way too much."said Jaune, who is a little uncomfortable with all the staring.
"We will have plenty of time for clothes shopping tomorrow. For now let's get you something to eat, since it appears you haven't properly eaten in a while."said Professor Magnolia, who noticed that Jaune didn't appear to have gone proper nutrition lately.
"Yeah... I guess that makes sense."said Jaune before his stomach began rumbling, indicating that it needed food.
Professor Magnolia looked at him with an amused smile before motioning for him to follow her down route 2. A couple of moments later after what felt like forever, Jaune and Professor Magnolia arrived at a small little cottage near a lake. She quickly motions for him to head inside. Which he does with much reluctance.
Professor Magnolia and take some to the kitchen, wish it begins preparing the young man some Curry, but not before offering him a cup of tea. Jaune happily accepted a cup of tea, and a couple of moments later, he was eating Curry like he had never eaten before.
Professor Magnolia smiled at him, before she brought out some Pokemon food. Jaune quickly called out Buneary as soon as he saw the food, and a few moments later the rabbit Pokemon was happily eating her food. Jaune noticed that Buneary was similar to a certain friend back home, which made him all the more happier.
"Buneary, let's take on the Pokemon world together."said Jaune, something the rabbit pokémon agreed with by giving him a thumbs up.
Jaune gave her a thumbs up back before continuing to eat his Curry. After all, he had a big journey ahead of him. And he had no idea where it was going to end!

I decided to go with Galar because more pokémon that fit Jaune Arc are only available in Galar. Now I know some of you wanted Paldea, and I did too... But it was getting complicated and I was getting behind in my story, so I decided to go with my gut and let's see where it goes from here.
I chose Buneary as Jaune's starter Pokemon because of Juniper, the giant jackalope Jaune befriended in the Ever After.

The Pokemon you choose have to be available in Pokemon sword and shield, and that includes the DLCs. I won't accept pokémon that are not in the game, or new ones that are found only in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.
Now I'll be updating the next couple of chapters over the next couple of days hopefully, it all depends if I have inspiration or not. So please bear with me in the meantime and I hope to see you all again.
