Chapter 12: Secrets Revealed
Ryuko was called into the Command center as backup, but due to her already being engaged in a fight with a villain. She was only able to arrive in time to see the end of Rumi's fight which was awesome. But when her girlfriend completely collapsed after it she got extremely worried. Now Rumi was lying Unconscious with her head in her lap as she fussed over her. Looking up to the displays where Tommy and Kimberly were she spoke up.
"Is she going to be all right?" Ryuko asked worried for her girlfriend. But before any of them could respond, Rumi spoke up as she opened one of her eyes.
"Don't... Worry about me, babe. I'll be fine. I'll be back out there in a day or two." Rumi said completely exhausted and sore, As she maintained her position on her girlfriend's lap. Even if she could move, there was no way in hell she was going to get off her girlfriend's lap.
"No, you won't. You will be out of action for at least a month due to your stunt. Seriously what were you thinking? you didn't just push past your morphing limit but you did a lunar Arc as well as judgment mode. Now virtually every muscle in your body has been torn and you're internal organs have been strained. Me and Tommy had Warned you about the consequences of pushing past your limit. Now we're not just down a ranger, we're down a ranger that has the only capability of fighting legally. Now we only have Izuku and Melissa Who can only do it because of a loophole in the system." Kimberly says angrily.
"I... only did all of that... So we could capture the fucker. We needed intel especially if... There is a Psycho Ranger involved. Plus I could see... Recovery Girl and... She can just fix me up." Rumi said through labored breaths.
"You're an idiot, there's no way Recovery Girl can fix you In your current state. Her quirk requires you to have stamina. If she used her Quirk on you now you would die and since you overused the Morphing grid the excess grid energy In your body is going to be sapping your stamina for quite a bit. I'm surprised you're even conscious right now." Kimberly says Tiredly.
"There must be something we can do. I'm not dumb enough to think me and Melissa can handle a Psycho Ranger on our own." Izuku said rubbing his eyebrow. He wasn't delusional, he knew that he and Melissa just didn't have the battle experience like his sister has. Not to mention the rest of his new team couldn't really help them out without them being charged with vigilantism, something Izuku would not let happen.
"Well, I guess it's a good thing that I brought this along." Miss Yaoyorozu Says as she grabbed the suitcase from her husband and opened it. Inside were 4 Morphers that looked badly damaged as well as a multicolor red, yellow, and white gem with white vines-like roots wrapping around it.
"Over the years my family was able to recover the 4 remaining SPD morphers that you originally could not recover. The core of the White Mystic Force Morpher, and As well as The shards of the red yellow, and white Dino Gems. Through a mixture of quirks and science as well as the core of the white Mystic Force Morpher, we were able to combine the three Dino Gems. My plan was with the assistance of my daughter's quirk to modify the matter replicator. So we could produce the remaining parts needed to make these four Morphers work, as well as the parts needed to modify one of these morphers to handle the Dino Gem as a core. If I'm right, if we use the dino Gem as a core the person would be able to get immediately five minutes worth of morphing time no matter how old the individual is. The person will need to be fit obviously and if they want more time than 5 minutes they will need further training." Miss Yaoyorozu Says causing everyone in the room to gape And for Kimberly to laugh.
"Ha, You're definitely related to Billy, because only somebody related to that genius could come up with a plan like this." Kimberly said as she cackled.
"Although I do not wish to be the person to rain on everybody's parade. But if the scans that the Command center is giving me are right there are no dino Souls connected to those gems which means no Zord support." Tommy said frowning a bit. If they were going to fight this Psycho Ranger they were going to need Zord's support since they could transform at will into their much larger forms that only a Zord could handle.
"Don't worry that's why we combined the core of the white Mystic Force Morpher to the gem. With that added, the person could use the Zord Transformation spell to turn into a Zord." Miss Yaoyorozu Says, She was about to explain further before Deca cut in.
"Yes but according to my calculations, you will only reach half the height of an average Zord." Deca said confused.
"You're right about that. But let's say the user has a quirk to make them bigger or let's say a quirk that turns the person into a giant dragon. Then all the Morpher will have to do is compensate." Miss Yaoyorozu Says As she looks at Ryuko with a knowing smirk. It took only a second for everybody to realize what the woman had said as they too turned their attention towards Ryuko.
"What, you want me to become a Power Ranger?" Ryuko asked shocked.
"Well, you do meet all the qualifying factors for such a position and your quirk would allow you to take on a Zord transformation. Of course, we would have to encode a costume design, run some simulators for compatibility errors, and adapt some weapons designs for your ranger Outfit. But that shouldn't be too hard to do." Tommy says thinking it over before looking at Izuku.
"But at the end of the day, it's Izuku's decision Since he's the leader of the Power Rangers." Tommy says as everybody looks at Izuku for his answer.
"It's fine with me, especially since we obviously need somebody to watch my sister's back, and who better than her girlfriend." Izuku says with a shrug of his shoulders. He had already done his research on Ryuko when he found out his sister was dating her, so it wasn't really a hard choice for him to make.
"So what do you say, babe? You want to be my partner." Rumi asked as she looked up at her girlfriend With puppy dog eyes. Ryuko could never say no to that look. So with a resigned nod of her head, Rumi cheered in excitement as everybody else made plans and preparations to get that Morpher operational as quickly as possible.
A Day Later
Toshinori was finally meeting up with David at the same American Cafe where Melissa had given him a good chewing out. Today they were going to do a Preliminary check-up so they could fully calibrate the machine that would fix his body. This made him quite nervous, in the past he had his hopes Raised a couple of times for only them to be Crushed. Even though he knew David wouldn't do such a thing he could not help but prepare himself for the worst outcome. His thoughts were cut off when the door to the restaurant opened and David and Melissa Stepped in. They had a quick meal as they caught up before they headed into a limo that David had prepared. But he was quite surprised when the second they got in the limo and the doors were closed they were teleported. Toshinori was positive if he had a stomach he would be puking. But instead, he coughed up a lung full of blood as he tried to catch his breath. Izuku was on him in an instant, He handed the man a handkerchief to wipe away the blood and led him to a chair so he could sit down. The second that Toshinori had sat down Izuku had spoken up.
"Sorry about that All Might, the only way to get into the Command Center is through the teleporter, and first-time teleportation is usually a little rough. We're sorry that we couldn't tell you beforehand but we can't risk the knowledge of Ranger Tech Getting out quite yet." Izuku said Apologetically as it was his decision not to warn his Idol.
"It's okay my boy, I can understand the secrecy." Toshinori said as he gave Izuku a smile. Yeah, he was a bit surprised at being teleported. But he could admit if teleportation technology got into the wrong hands it could be disastrous.
"All right then, I think I should introduce you to the others then." Izuku says as he helps Toshinori up from the chair as the man looks at him In confusion. Which only grows when the two monitor Screens in the room come to life revealing two people.
"Hello All Might it is a pleasure to meet you. I am Kimberly Hart and the man on the other monitor is my husband Tommy Oliver." Kimberly says smiling at him. But before Toshinori can respond another voice rang out through the room.
"And I am Deca, I am the artificial intelligence that assists the Power Rangers. It is a pleasure to meet you All Might." Deca says Causing Toshinori to get confused And a bit worried.
"How many other people know about my injury?" Toshinori asked worried.
"Only the people in this room toshi. Deca is the one who gave me the blueprints to the machine that will heal you. Tommy and Kimberly are Izuku and Melissa's mentors so they are also trustworthy." David said Successfully relieving his old friend's fears.
"Now we have that finished, I believe it is prudent to get him through the bio scanner, and since it will take an hour of him standing in there, we could explain more about the Rangers. Since I can tell that he is quite interested in said subject." Deca said as she started prepping the bio-scanner for a molecular-level bio-scan.
Everybody agreed to this idea as Izuku and Melissa helped Toshinori into the bio scanner. Tommy and Kimberly then start explaining about the history of the Power Rangers and what they did. All Might remember hearing about them during his time being quirkless. Even though there was some evidence of them existing he didn't put too much stock in it. But this explained how Melissa and Izuku got their morphers and how they could transform. So to say that Toshinori was relieved was an understatement. There was still the possibility that they were being deceived and to see that they were not was a relief. After he was out of the bio scanner Deca was the first one to speak up.
"Bioscan complete. According to our scans, there was a 90% chance of success in his current state. To guarantee success, we are going to need to put him on a dietary plan as well as Suspend him from Hero work for at least a month, Before putting him in the healing chamber." Deca says, but before Toshinori Could object, Melissa speaks up.
"Don't you dare complain Uncle Might. Me and dad are putting our hearts, Sweat, and Tears into this project. Not to mention you're already going to be out of action for 6 months. So what's another month?" Melissa said causing Toshinori to slump in defeat. She was right and even though he had already made plans for certain Heroes to take over in his absence. He still didn't like not being out there and helping people. Now they were asking him to sit around doing nothing for a whole month. Seeing the expression on his face, Kimberly got an idea as she spoke up.
"We're probably going to need you around the Command Center for the month to monitor your condition before putting you in the healing chamber. So If you want you could help train Izuku, Melissa, and the other rangers." Kimberly said causing Toshinori's eyes to Widen in shock.
"Wait there are other rangers? I thought it was only Melissa and Izuku." Toshinori asked shocked.
"No there are a total of 7 Rangers soon to be 8. Only Melissa and Izuku are considered field active at the moment, due to them not being affected by the local vigilante laws. But once the 8th ranger becomes active their roles in the field will be limited since that Ranger is a fully licensed hero. But enough of that we have another problem that we must address. According to the scans that we have just done I have discovered something troubling about your quirk Factor. Normally I would keep this under the Privacy protocol and address This problem to you in private. But due to your Quirk absorbing Grid energy Izuku needs to be brought into it as well as his confidants." Deca says Causing everybody's eyes to widen in shock.
"It gets worse, since I have detected a transferable Matrix Within the Quirk Factor, as well as several human Souls and several other quirks stored within the Quirk factor. If this Quirk was transferred to somebody it would immediately start draining the sole of the user as well as their grid energy. If my calculations are correct the current stockpile as well as the abundance of quirks will kill anyone with a quirk Factor. And if this quirk was given to somebody who does not have a quirk Factor the Quirk will eventually hit its maximum capacity before the quirk Factor starts breaking down. This will result in either two outcomes. One, the person has their body slowly start to disintegrate or two, go through a mutation allowing the person to use the other Quirk stored as well as access to the other souls. But the second outcome only has a 5% chance of happening. I am only bringing this up since I have detected that all Might was considering giving the quirk to either Izuku or Melissa. As such it is my duty to warn you of the dangers of such an idea." Deca says causing everybody to look at All Might who was sweating bullets.
"Toshi, were you honestly considering giving such a dangerous quirk to Melissa or Izuku?" David asked not believing what he was hearing. It was bad enough that his best friend kept such a secret from him. But the fact that he was going to give such a dangerous quirk to his daughter or her best friend was even harder to believe.
"David I... Had no idea that would even happen... I admit I don't have a lot of knowledge about the quirk and how it functions. But if I knew that there was such a risk I would have never even thought of handing it over. If I must, I am perfectly willing to let it die with me." Toshinori says seriously.
"Hold on, I think there's no need for that. Especially if what I'm thinking would work." Melissa says and as everybody's eyes land on her she continues.
"Deca is it possible for us to use project grid to siphon the excess grid energy so it won't hit its limit?" Melissa asked but before Deca could respond Tommy spoke up.
"Wait, Project Grid? Are you talking about the project that made my Master Morpher? If that's the case Melissa we do not have the components to even construct a master Morpher and the materials and components are way too complex. So even if we use Momo's quirk she would run out of lipids way before she's even halfway finished a single component. Not to mention the matter replicator could not produce those components even with the modifications." Tommy said confused.
"You're right we cannot create a master Morpher. But In phase one of the master Morphers Construction, your Dino Gem was converted into a Power Coin. I'm thinking of using that same method of converting the grid energy that was accumulated in Uncle Might's quirk into a Power Coin." Melissa said, but then Deca spoke up.
"Although that is certainly possible There is a problem With that idea. The souls that are stored in the quirk factor are directly tied to their Quirk as well as the grid energy that each individual soul had collected. So it is possible that the souls will not be willing to be used in such a manner." Deca said causing Melissa to slump a bit, but then Izuku got an idea.
"Then what if we ask them?" Izuku asks causing everybody to look at him in confusion. Seeing this he decided to explain further.
"Is it possible for us to create an AI platform and connect one of their souls to it?" Izuku asks, Causing everybody's eyes to widen at his idea.
"The AI platform will require heavy modification but theoretically, it could work. But we will be forced to use the previous user of All Might's quirk In this procedure due to it having the strongest connection." Deca says causing All Might's eyes to widen in shock. He was going to be able to talk to Nana. He could not believe it, for years he had wished for such a miracle, just so he could apologize to her, and now he was going to get that chance. That single thought filled his heart with hope and his Non-existent belly full of dread. But before he could think on that further David spoke up.
"All Might I'm assuming the previous user was your mentor, do you think she would be okay with this?" David asked. He kind of felt like this was somehow violating the Dead even though it technically wasn't. It was why he was asking this question. All Might though on his part only laughed at the question before responding.
"Yeah, knowing her she would probably jump at the chance to do something like this. Especially if it meant teasing me again." All Might said with a chuckle at the end. With that confirmation, everyone quickly got to work.
