Spiritual Encounter with Darkness and Light
"So, how do you feel now?" Namek asked Wan after freeing the animal.
Before Wan could answer that question, three men came into the scene as Wan immediately recognizes them as the hunting group he was with before in order to get the power of fire from the Lion Turtle he used to live in.
"Wan? What are you doing here?" The Huntsman asked in surprise.
"You're too late. I just save the animal you caught." Wan revealed, putting on a brave face.
"That animal was our dinner and you're going to pay for letting it go." The Huntsman glared in anger.
"Please, you can go hunt somewhere else. Find some fruits to grow in the soil and grow some more food." Namek offered some advice for food.
"Even if we could do what you said, spirit, we can't grow meat which is what we need for the bodies, and we'll hunt down any animal we can find to feed our people!" The huntsman stated strongly.
"I am no spirit, but my body is stronger than any humans that not even the hottest flames can hurt me." Namek said with a fist on his chest.
"Oh, it looks like our new "friend" wants to test his metal. Let see if he is fireproof!" The huntsman smirked as he and the others got ready to unleash their fire on Namek.
"Wan, get behind that tree. Now." Namek ordered without looking back at his human friend.
"No need to tell me that twice!" Wan hurried behind the tree along with the animal he just freed.
The Huntsman and his three men all unleash their firepower together right at Namek trying to burn him away to show they're not afraid of a green man, their combined fire is spread and big that it also hits the tree scaring Wan a little.
"(Combining their fire bending that make it flames hotter.)" Namek thought felt the heat of the fire on his body.
"(But unfortunately for them, this is not enough to even hurt me.)" Namek thought looked over at the hunters, they're gonna be in for a big surprise.
Namek started walking through the flames and toward the hunters with his body glowing green a little, and then he burst a shockwave from his body that blew away the fire and knocked the hunters flying several feet.
"No way, this thing actually survives our fire!" One hunter gasped.
"You… Just what the fuck are you?!" The Huntsman asked in fear.
"I am something that is not of this world, one who is much more powerful than you could possibly imagine." Namek said with the green aura glowing a little brighter.
"Now, I will only say this once, so you better listen…" Namek clutched his fist.
"Leave this forest NOW!" Namek demanded with his eyes looked at them, making the men shivers like he is looking directly at their souls.
The hunters scream and ran for their lives away from the green monster man as they don't want to know what would happen if they tested his patients.
"Wow, you really scare them off." Wan commented as he walks up to Namek.
"I just did I thought was peaceful in a way that no one gets hurt." Namek said, but then he notices a burn mark on Wan's arm.
"Wan, you're hurt!" Namek was shocked.
"Yeah, some of that fire got to me, but I'm fine." Wan assured.
"Even so, we should get you back to the oasis to heal you." Namek said.
(Oasis)
Namek guided Wan to the water and got him to lay down inside, then the water started to glow like it giving the human young man energy for his right arm to heal in mere seconds.
"I feel great. What's in this water?" Wan asked.
"It has special healing properties." Aye-Aye answered.
"Saw what you did to those other humans, glad to see you still have the stuff to scare them off." Aye-Aye said, saying that he followed them through the forest.
"And I'm glad you didn't jump in and took possession in one of those humans, otherwise that would've been bad." Namek said.
"I heard about that, it happened to a friend of mine. So, you spirits can enter inside of people?" Wan asked the furry spirit.
"Spirits are able to take over a human body for a short time. If I were to in there any those humans for a longer time, I would've killed one of them, which I did consider." Aye-Aye explained.
"Oh… Glad it didn't come to that." Wan said.
"I saw you save that cat deer; I underestimated you, human." Aye-Aye admitted while the cat deer licks Wan as a thank to him.
"Are you off to find another lion turtle city?" A green spirit asked.
"I was. But I think I've had enough of humans for a while. I've decided to stay here and learn the ways of the spirits." Wan decided as he pets his new cat deer friend.
"What a great idea." One white spirit with red eyes smiled.
"That'll be fun." The green spirit nodded.
"Oh, now, now, hold on. A human living with spirits? It's never been done." Aye-Aye pointed out. No spirits and humans have ever been able to live with each other before.
"First time for everything, right?" Wan smiled.
"I can help him with channeling his energy more than the fire bending." Namek offered to help.
"And no, Aye-Aye, you will not give him a new name since he already has one." Namek turned down the idea before Aye-Aye could even say it out loud.
"Oh come on, I want to call him sticky because it's more accurate to me!" Aye-Aye proclaimed.
(Fire Lion Turtle)
The hunters have come back into the city looking down in fear and ashamed that they didn't bring back any food for themselves nor for the people of the city.
"What happened in the wilds?" One man asked.
"We were chased out by a spirit who seems to have protected that kid Wan like he was one of their own." The huntsman answered.
"Did you hear that? Wan's still alive." Jaya said to Yao, feeling happy that his best friend is doing okay and seem to have made friends with the spirits.
And so, Wan's new life with the spirits in the wild has become with Namek and a dragon showing him the ways of dragon movements as they are the original beings with the power of fire, then Namek started teaching him some hand-to-hand combat to help him up his fire power some more.
Wan performs a fast-moving technique that makes it look like he disappeared in almost an instant which wasn't easy as he has to be able to react to moving fast.
Whenever hunters would come into the forest to hunt for food, they somehow end up coming close to the oasis and Wan would be the only one to fight them off with ease, even turning their own fire attack against them.
And the Huntsman would also tell the people something about how Wan fights.
"And the way Wan moves fire, it's like nothing I've ever seen. He uses it like it's an extension of his body. And his body is also strong it's like we were fighting a giant."
Wan moved faster than the hunters could react as he knocks them all down with one punch each, causing them to run away.
His spirit friends came out of hiding to give him a round of cheering that he protected them again, Namek smile at his student for doing so well.
Days turn into weeks and weeks have turned into months, then it became a few years since Wan have lived with Namek and the spirits. And the stories about him living in the wild have encouraged some people back in his former homeland.
"Wan has proved that with the power of fire, anyone can survive in the wild. We don't have to live under Chou the Elder's rules anymore, so I say we leave this city and start over. Who's with me?" Jaya railed up the people of the lower level of the city.
Everyone cheered loudly, showing full support of freeing themselves from the Chou's rule and forge their own destinies outside of the city. Just like Wan did.
Jaya, Yao, and everyone who went along with them came together at the Lion Turtle as it bestows all of them the power of fire and they leave to live out their new lives where they have freedom, and things will be different for them from now on.
(With Wan)
The time has finally come for Wan to travel the world to see the other Lion Turtle cities and other things in the outside world, and Namek is coming along to see more of the world as he only saw a little of it before settling down in the oasis.
"You ready to go, Mula?" Wan asked the cat deer who smiles at him.
"You sure you two want to leave?" Aye-Aye asked.
"Yes, it's time for both of us to see how big this world really is with our own eyes and see the other Lion Turtle cities." Namek nodded.
"But don't worry, we will never forget you and the things we did together. Both the good and the bad." Wan smiled.
"I'm proud to call you two my friends." Aye-Aye smiled.
"Me too." Namek smiled back with a hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you for everything. Goodbye, everyone." Wan said his farewell as the two friends and cat deer have begun their journey.
"We'll miss you." One spirit said.
And so, the friends have begun traveling to anywhere they can set their feet in and seeing many things like a really tall tree in the distance and meeting an owl who seems to be interested in collecting things.
Namek would also have Wan do some training with him whenever they stop and have a break from the traveling, he wanted to sure the young man can still protect himself even though he hasn't been able to do the energy attacks like he can.
"Concentrate, focus your life energy." Namek said to Wan.
"I am…" Wan said while struggling to stand on one hand on top of a tall rock and another large rock on top of that.
Wan looks down at his hand trying to see if he can summon his life energy, but his body felt hot from the intense training and little sparks of fire came out.
"Nope." Namek smacked Wan on the head causing him to fall down.
Wan crashes into a tree and lands hard on the ground, groaning in pain as that could've been a better landing for him.
"Wan, you were about to use your Firebending again." Namek pointed out.
"Hey, I was feeling hot, so my fire just came out like that." Wan explained.
"Well, you need to control that fire to not let it out and let the life energy that has been in your body since birth come out. The energy that all living beings have." Namek advised.
"Believe me, I'm trying, but it's just so hard to make the thing come out." Wan complained a little.
"Wan, you can't just make it come out. The energy, or perhaps Ki as I would like to call it, is something that comes naturally as you must feel it from within the soul and the deeper you go, the more you can feel it." Namek formed an energy ball from his hand.
"Energy doesn't just come from out of nowhere, it has to come from somewhere as everyone around us has energy." Namek said to his friend/student.
"It can be beautiful for peace and can be weaponize to defend those who can't fight back." Namek fired the energy ball into the sky, and it exploded into a pretty little firework.
"Wow!" Wan was amazed by that.
"You can do a lot of things with the people from within, if you're willing to put in the work." Namek said.
The duo continues on with their traveling hoping they're closer to the second Lion Turtle City they'll see, wondering what it's like than the last one and what different elements the people have that is not fire.
They stop at a river to get some water, but then they heard some rumbling sounds from a distance and suddenly lots of spirits are running for their lives.
"The all-powerful spirits are battling!" One random spirit shouted.
"They're gonna wipe out the entire valley!" Another random spirit feared.
"Sounds like something big is happening from that way. We better go check it out." Namek suggested, Wan agrees and hop onto Mula.
The two headed off to where the spirits were running from and the loud rumbling sounds.
The closer they've gotten to whatever is going on about, the louder the sounds were getting along with the shaking of the ground getting harder until they finally spotted something at a clearing in the distance where two spirits are fighting each other.
But these aren't ordinary spirits, one is black and the other is white, and the fighting they're having is what is causing the commotion.
"Those spirits, they feel even stronger than any of the spirits we've met so far. Like they're the top ones." Namek felt their spiritual energy and was shocked to feel how strong they are.
"And they're causing harm to the spirits. We need to stop them." Wan had Mula go over there with Namek right behind him.
They've gotten closer to the two spirits as Wan unleash a fire blast between the two spirits that got their attention.
"Stop, or you'll destroy everything!" Wan said.
"This doesn't concern you, human! Nor to your friend from beyond the stars." The white spirit stated.
"We only came here because the spirits and animals are scared about the fight you two are having. It's destroying their homes if you do not stop." Namek pointed out.
"If you're friends to spirits, then use your fire to help me break free." The black spirit begged.
"Don't involve the human. This is between us." The white spirit reminded him of that.
"Please, save me. She has tormented me for ten thousand years." The black spirit begged more, trying to break away from the white spirit.
Namek wanted to help break up the fight and hope to find a more peaceful situation, but there was something about the black spirit he didn't like from the feeling of his energy, it's all dark and raging with chaos of wanting everything to be destroyed.
"Wan, maybe we should"
"Let him go!" Wan blasted fire at the white spirit only to be smacked away along with Namek.
The dark spirit took the moment of distraction to get away though the white spirit still has a hold on him and tries to bring him back in. Wan recovers and saw their tails connected, so he goes in to unleash fire at the tails to disconnect despite Namek tackled him down to stop.
Now, the dark spirit is free from the white spirit as flies around to a mountain top.
"Thank you, human. You have performed a great service for the spirits." The dark spirit said before flying off.
"Wan, I think we may have made a big mistake." Namek said.
"What are you talking about? I was helping a spirit be free from a bully." Wan glared at the white spirit.
"You are gravely mistaken. I was keeping him under control." The white spirit said.
"And what gives you the right?" Wan asked angrily.
"Wan, I think we should her out because I sense truth from her words." Namek said.
"You should listen to your friend, human. He knows better than you do." The white spirit pointed out.
"Spirit, what is your name and what has been going on between you and that other spirit." Namek asked politely.
"My name is Raava. That spirit you freed is Vaatu. He is the force of darkness and chaos. I am the force of light and peace. Since the beginning of time, we have battled over the fate of this world. And for the past ten thousand years, I have kept darkness under control and the world in balance, until you came along." Raava explained as she looks at Wan angrily.
Now Wan was starting to see how wrong he was in this right now.
"So, by freeing Vaatu…"
"Chaos has been let loose." Namek finished his sentence.
"Precisely. The human and spirit realms are headed toward annihilation, and it's all your fault." Raava stated to the shocked Wan and Namek became worried.
(Reality)
"Raava… I found you." Korra said, still in the meditating state while Mako is watching over her.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Wow, Wan really went in to help out the wrong spirit because now he may have ended up bringing the end of the world now that Vaatu is on the loose. Let's hope him and Namek will be able to help Raava stop the chaos from spreading too much and bring the balance back.
