To understand what I'm about to tell you, you need to do something first. You need to believe in the impossible. Can you do that? Good.

The first incident was in Keikei City. An extraordinary child was born who radiated light. After that, reports of people with superpowers popped up across the globe. No one knew what was causing these Quirks...Before long, the supernatural became the totally normal. Dreams are reality. The world became a superhuman society with about 80% of the population possessing some uncanny ability. Our streets looked like scenes from comic books. A city swirled with chaos and confusion, a new profession dominated our collective consciousness.

It was an age of heroes.

With the rise of superpowers came an explosive increase in criminal activity. While governments were stuck trying to figure out how to reform with Quirks in mind, courageous people started performing heroic acts to keep our cities us against villains who abuse their powers for evil. With overwhelming public support, heroes found an official place as peacekeepers overseen by the government. Those who perform the best were paid the most and got all the fame and glory. Their careers depended on their ability to stay in the spotlight.

My name is Izuku Midoriya. I am the Fastest Man Alive. My story is pretty simple. My whole life I have been running. Usually from bullies. Sometimes I escaped. Sometimes I did not. But after that night, I was running from something much scarier. Something I could never explain. Something impossible.

When I was 11 years old, my mother was murdered. My father went to prison for her murder. To the police, to the Pro Heroes, it seemed like a cut and dry case. It didn't help that I had grown up to be completely Quirkless. Since I had been in the minority, I was treated as less than nothing. Even former friends became ruthless bullies.

However, I know my father is innocent. The night of her murder, I witnessed what looked like a ball of lightning and inside it was a man. I never saw his face, and so the police and Heroes thought I just had an overactive imagination and was trying to protect my father.

However, I knew he was innocent and strived to prove it. Fortunately, I had a pretty amazing support system. While my Aunt Mitsuki wanted to take me in, she sadly knew that Bakugo would bring me nothing but pain. So, she called in a favor and I was raised by the Hatsumes along with their daughter, Mei. It was then that Mei made me a promise.

"It doesn't matter if you're Quirkless. With my help, you're going to be a hero!" She declared.

That was how I shifted my dreams. I wasn't just going to be a hero. I was going to dual enroll, both in Support to make my own equipment, and in Hero so that I could protect the innocent, and ensure that what happened to my parents never happened again. And then maybe one day I'll find who killed my mother and get justice for my father.

I am... The Flash

So... I know that this is VERY short. It's supposed to be, as this is just the prologue. I wanted to try to take the monologue from both the 1st episode of MHA and mix it with the Season 1 monologue of The Flash. I don't really know if I did well, but I had the idea and decided to run with it. Not sure how frequent updates will be for this, I'll probably flip flop between updating this and Twin Heroes, but we'll see how it goes.
