As it turned out, the young Bergen lived in what would be considered the basement, or dungeon area. When they reached her room, the trio jumped off and landed on the floor. They hid behind a wheel and watched the girl put their friends up. "Scullery maid!" The chef shouted before pots and pans landed on the girl. "Wash these pots and pans for Trollstice. The king's inviting everyone. Except you."

The girl burst into tears after a spoon hit her head. Willow peeked out from behind the wheel while Poppy stepped forward. The girl ran to her bed and started crying. When she stopped crying, the girl lifted a curtain on her table and grabbed what looked like a magazine with the king's face on it.

(Bridget)

I've been alone with you inside my mind

And in my dreams, I've kissed your lips

A thousand time

I sometimes see you pass outside my door

Hello

Is it me you're looking for?

I can see it in your eyes

I can see it in your smile

Bridget started washing the dishes. She hugged one close to her.

(Bridget)

You're all I ever wanted

And my arms are open wide

'Cause you know just what to say

And you know just what to do

And I want to tell you so much

I love you

Bridget burst into tears at the end of her song before quickly falling asleep.

"Oh," Poppy said, her hand on her chest. "She's in love with the king."

"What are you talking about?" Branch asked, annoyed. "Bergens don't have feelings."

"I don't know," Willow said slowly, following Poppy. "She seems so sad. And you can't tell me that wasn't a sad love song she just sang."

"Yeah," Poppy nodded. "Maybe you don't know everything about Bergens." She waved her arm forward. " Now let's go."

The trio of Trolls ran to where the cage holding their friends was sitting and climbed up. Branch pulled the curtain back and Poppy grinned. "Guys!"

"Poppy!" Everyone shouted. They started singing. "Celebrate good times, come on!"

"It's a celebration," Poppy started to join before Branch shushed them all.

"There's a party going on right here," The Snack Pack whispered to finish the song.

"No!" Branch insisted, whispering. "There is not a party going on right here." He grabbed the scissors out of Poppy's hair and tried to pick the lock. She looked unimpressed when he gave her the scissors back dented. "The sooner we get you guys out of here,"

"The sooner we can save Creek!" Poppy grinned, excited.

Willow grinned and walked over to the cage as the door opened. "You have no idea how happy I am to see you all," she said. She turned when Branch shouted. He almost woke the Bergen!

When she went back to sleep, Willow looked at Poppy. "Poppy, are you insane?" She asked.

"I know you're looking for cupcakes and rainbows here," Branch said. "But let's face it, Creek's been eaten."

"They put him in a taco," Biggie said, walking out.

"It was horrible," Cooper said.

"Sorry, Poppy," Guy Diamond placed his hand on Poppy's "Creek's gone."

"Poppy, how could you possibly think Creek's still alive?" Branch asked.

"I don't think he's alive," Poppy insisted. "I hope he's alive, and that's enough."

"Why do you always have to look on the bright side?" Branch asked annoyed. "There is no bright side here. None!"

"There is always a bright side," Poppy insisted. Willow rolled her eyes at the argument and was about to walk away when a light turned on.

"Hey!" The Bergen shouted. "Where do you think you're going?" The Trolls screamed and started to run. Guy Diamond ran up and launched glitter into the girl's face before he also ran out. "No!" The girl yelled. "Get back in your cage! Chef's gonna be so mad!"

Branch grabbed a fork and prepared to fight her while the girl grabbed a cooking pan. "Bridget, stop!" Poppy yelled.

Willow looked from where she was standing, confused. Poppy was standing in front of a large pink curtain. "You're in love with King Gristle."

The newly named Bridget gasped and clutched the pan close to her. "Um, I don't know what you're talking about." Poppy pulled open the curtain to show what looked like a shrine to the Bergen King.

Willow walked over to Branch in surprise. "She might be a little more than in love," Willow muttered to her brother.

"I'll say," Branch scoffed, crossing his arms.

"Excuse me!" Bridget panicked and pulled the curtain closed. "That's not mine." Poppy pulled the curtain open to show a picture with Bridget and King Gristle's pictures taped to it. Bridget sighed in defeat. "What does it matter?" She asked. "It's not like he even knows I'm alive."

"Bridget," Poppy smiled. "I can help you! What if there was a way we could both get what we want?"

"You love Gristly, too?" Bridget asked, surprised. She stepped back. "You'd better back off, girlfriend!" She hissed a little.

Willow laughed and looked at her brother. "I can't believe I was ever scared of her," She said, as she walked over to Bridget.

"No. Bridget, no," Poppy assured. "That Troll King Gristle put in his mouth, that's Creek." She pulled a picture out of her hair. "And I would do anything to save him. The only problem is, we can't get anywhere near the king without him eating us. But, you can. You can walk right up to him and tell him how you feel."

"As if," Bridget denied. "I can't just walk right up to the king. His Royal Awesomeness would never talk to a scullery maid like me."

"Not with that attitude he won't," Willow snorted, climbing up to where Poppy was.

Poppy elbowed her friend. "What if he didn't know you were a scullery maid? What if he thought you were this total babe?"

"What kind of total babe would be dressed like a scullery maid?" Bridget asked, holding her clothes. "I smell like gravy."

"What if we made you a new outfit?" Satin suggested, smiling. Chenille grinned. "I'm thinking, jumpsuit!"

"What's the point of a jumping suit, if I still have this hair?" Bridget asked.

"Oh, we can fix that," Poppy promised.

"What's the point of a new outfit and new hair, if I don't even know what a total babe would ever say?" Bridget was not convinced the plan Poppy was coming up with would work.

"We can help with that too," Poppy grinned when Bridget leaned forward, suddenly excited. "What do you say, Bridget? You get us Creek, and we'll get you a date with the king."

"Let's do it?" Bridget said after a moment to think. Poppy grinned widely and started a count off for the rest of the Trolls to start singing.

When you look in the mirror

Let it disappear

All your insecurities

"Wait!" Bridget shouted. She pointed at Branch and Willow. "Why aren't these two singing?"

Willow grinned. "Sorry, I don't sing unless he does," she pointed at her brother. "We're kind of a package deal."

"Come on, Branch," Copper said while Branch leaned against a wall. "Sing with us."

"Yeah, Branch, sing with us!" The rest encouraged.

"Oh, no." Branch walked to the edge. "That's okay."

"You don't think this will work?" Bridget asked, sad.

"Oh, no, no," Branch assured. "It's not that. I just don't sing."

"Branch!" Poppy said, exasperated.

"No," Bridget said, in despair. "He's right. This idea is stupid." She started to cry. "King Gristle will never love me." She flopped back onto her bed and started crying.

Willow rolled her eyes and sat down. "This girl needs a serious confidence boost," she muttered.

Branch snorted and started climbing the curtain. "Branch, what are you doing?" Poppy asked, following. "You have to sing!"

Willow sighed and got up to follow the two. "I told you," Branch said, annoyed. "I don't sing."

"Well, you have to!" Poppy insisted.

"I'm sorry," Branch said, looking out the window. He reached up to open it.

"No, you can," Poppy said. "You just won't."

"Fine," Branch allowed. "I just won't."

"You have to," Poppy demanded.

Willow stood by her brother when he said no and looked at Poppy. "Drop it, Poppy. He doesn't have to sing. And you need to stop pressuring him."

Poppy groaned frustrated. "Why not? Why won't he sing?"

"Because singing killed my grandma, okay?" Branch snapped. He turned to the window he was trying to open when Willow sat down by the window, defeated. " Now leave me alone." He walked over and sat by his sister, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.

Poppy walked up to the two, hesitant. "How did singing kill your grandma?" She asked. "What song was she singing?"

Branch looked up, devastated. "I was the one singing." He stared off into space as he told the story. He stood up with Willow behind him. "That day, I was so lost in song, that I didn't hear my grandma trying to warn me." Branch stared out the window, thinking about that day.

(Snack Pack)

Once upon a time

There was a light in his life

But now there's only love in the dark

Nothing he can say

(Bridget)

A total eclipse of the heart

Willow clutched his arm. "I was sleeping when it happened and found Branch alone at the base of the tree ."

Branch sighed and pushed away from the window. "I haven't sung a note since."

"I'm so sorry, Branch," Poppy said, remorseful. "I had no idea. I just assumed you had a terrible voice." Willow snorted at the idea of her brother having a terrible voice. He used to be in a boy band for hair's sake.

"No, no, it was like an angel's," Branch said. "At least that's what Grandma used to say." Poppy smiled and rushed to hug the siblings. "Whoa, whoa. What are you doing? It's not hug time."

"I know," Poppy said, "You just looked like you needed one." The rest of the Snack Pack joined while Willow relaxed into the hug. She missed getting to hug her friends.

Branch groaned when Bridget joined in the hug and pushed himself away. "Okay! Okay, I'll help." He pointed a warning finger. "But I'm still not singing."

Poppy smiled in acceptance. "Okay, people. Hair we go!" The group jumped on Bridget's hair and started singing. They grew their hair out as they sang.

(Everyone)

You

(Poppy)

You gotta let it show!

The Trolls started swinging their hair and made it change to a rainbow color that covered Bridget's head. The group sang while they got Bridget dressed up and ready to go meet the king.

Willow sat down next to Branch and looked at him. "Are you okay?" She asked, concerned. "We haven't talked about what happened since we left the Tree."

Branch ignored the music around him and sighed. "Yeah, I'll be alright." He looked at her. "Are you going to be okay?" He motioned to the hair she was using to help with the disguise. "You could be dancing and singing with them. Especially since you're actually helping with the disguise."

Willow snorted. "What, this?" She asked pointing to her hair. "I just figured it would be nice to help." She sighed and pulled her knees to her chest. "I don't really feel like singing right now, you know?" She smiled at her big brother. "I'd rather spend time with you."

Branch smiled softly until he heard the song ending. "We're probably close to the king," he muttered, looking up.

Willow sighed and stood up. "Let's hope this plan of Poppy's works," she whispered to her brother. "Otherwise, we're all Bergen chow."

Lady Glittersparkles makes an appearance! We'll get to see more of her in the next chapter. We also got Branch to tell Poppy what happened to make him stop singing. Willow's going to try and help with the date in the next chapter. I'm so excited to keep writing and I can't wait for you all to read it. Thanks for reading so far guys!
