~ They'll never understand it
Just pick your feet up like they'll never remember it ~

She contemplated his proposition. He seemed like a nice enough guy and wasn't that bad looking either. Not her ideal type: a slight tan with deep blue eyes, strong features and just the right amount of stubble - she was so over clean shaven, baby faced, dark haired guys. But, hey, he could still be good for a bit of fun.

She couldn't help herself, her eyes moved to him again and she found that in the few minutes they'd been on the train he had already managed to fall asleep. She couldn't decide if it was adorable or plain pathetic.

Another train's horn blared over her music, it was no surprise that the abrupt noise woke him up. How embarrassing. The sight made her smile again, as continued to watch him remember where he was.

It looked almost like he had to physically pull himself up from his position on the window. He scanned the carriage, analysing everything going on around him. His eye's were drawn to the rhythmic tapping of her boot and when he looked to her face she was so stunned she stopped the movement. His eyes were such a deep blue, how had she not noticed that before? Blue eyes were her favourite. He raised a hand to wave at her with a confounded expression and she gave him a small smirk in return. She was still puzzled though, it must just be a trick of the light or something, but she could have sworn his eyes were brown not blue...

The brunette across from him follows his gaze and turned her head. She grinned widely when she looked back at Lucy. Feeling a bit more confused by the reaction, Lucy raised an eyebrow in response, looking to the man questioningly. They were clearly talking about her now, especially if the slight blush she could see on his pale cheeks were anything to go by.

His friend's phone seemed to ring, and she pointed a finger at him decisively before she moved to pick it up.

He looked down at his watch then reached out to touch the unsuspecting brunette, but is interrupted by the ticket inspector. He quickly grabbed his ticket from his breast pocket and passes it over, then looked at the woman across from him and shook his head with a smirk.

Lucy wordlessly hands over her ticket to the inspector when he approaches her. She was too busy watching the strange, apparently blue eyed, man to offer up any conversation.

He moved on to examining the other passengers on the train then strikes like a viper. Without warning, he leaped from his seat and snatched the script from the comedian behind him. There seemed to be an interrogation going on for a moment before the brunette hangs up her call to get him under control and back to his seat.

Oh, creepy. Lucy shudders. He switched so easily to being aggressive, it was really concerning. She's had enough if that in her life, thank you very much. He hadn't seemed like that kind of guy when they spoke earlier, but honestly she didn't know him at all.

They arrived at Glenbrook station and he launched from his seat, coming straight towards her. She resisted the urge to flinch from his imposing figure, not sure how she felt about being the subject of his gaze. His eyes were so deep and expressive, it made her uncomfortable. When they spoke earlier there was such light and joviality; well, until that proposition was made.

He suddenly swiveled and turns away from her, she released a breath and watched as he marches towards the door, feeling an odd sense of disappointment. Even after his outburst, part of her still hoped to meet up with him. Man, she was twisted, and she frowned at her thoughts.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, for her, he didn't get off. She watched as he seemed to ground himself, standing between the carriages and then determinedly marches back towards her direction, dismissing his friend in the process. Lucy stays completely still, only her eyes move as he deliberately moves past her and towards the bathrooms. There was an aura of concern radiating off him and she wondered if she should leave him alone.

Yeah. That's for the best. She couldn't let herself continue get involved with men that were so clearly damaged. She had to learn something from what she went through.

He came out of the restroom, then hesitated before going back. She wondered if he might be ever so subtly requesting for her to join him. Too bad for him, because that ain't happening.

When he came out the second time he stood beside her and flashed his ID in the air. Over her music she could hear him saying something completely stupid: "Ladies and gentlemen, transit security. Due to a classified security breach, I need all of you to turn off any personal electronic devices until we pull into the station okay?"

She raised her eyebrows, not believing the blatant lie. What kind of transit security officer rides the same train every day at the same time? He's an idiot if he thought anyone here was going to buy that.

He bickered with another passenger nearby about their laptop, then out of no where, socked him right in the jaw. At that moment another train started to pass by next to them.

Lucy's jaw dropped at the sight. She grabbed the packet of tissues from her bag and pushed past the aggressive stranger. Her earphones were snagged on a chair and ripped painfully from her ears, but she didn't pay any mind to it.

His brunette friend was already there cradling the poor guys head. "Christ, Sean, I think you broke his jaw!"

Lucy flinched at the sight of the injured man, and did her best to wipe the blood from his mouth without causing more pain for him.

The man, 'Sean', showed absolutely no resource for his actions. Something about that name didn't sit right for Lucy, it felt wrong, out of place; but she didn't care enough to dwell on it.

"It's okay, he's not any more real than you are."

Oh great. He was having a full mental break down. Lucy was so grateful she'd chosen not to go into an enclosed space alone with this lunatic. She stood up from her position next to the injured man and told 'Sean' directly, "We're just as real as you are."

He stared at her patronisingly, with a hint of sadness. "No, you're not."

What an asshole! She was just about to tell him that when suddenly a deafening bang rocked through the train.

Searing heat combined with a blinding light burst through the carriage.

Something collided with her body and flung her down the isle, flesh melting from her bones.

There was barely time to react, or to scream.

Her last few seconds of life were pure agony.

And then was over.

...Happy birthday Lucy.

Authors Note: Oh wow a review already. I'm truly flattered by the offer LydiaCrazzy but this story is really more of a side project for me, and making it into more than a fanfiction would require a lot of rewriting and tweaking of details because I always try to follow the story so closely. Making a new justification for the repetition would probably make my head hurt, honestly. Thank you for the offer though!

Best of luck with all the things! Oxoxoxo
