Darth Vader

Backstory:

Darth Vader is a Dark Lord of the Sith and the apprentice of Emperor Palpatine, ruler of the Galactic Empire. Vader was once the esteemed Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, whose unparalleled midichlorian count labeled him as the Chosen One destined to bring balance to the Force. However, the numerous tragedies he suffered during his service to the Jedi Order in the Clone Wars took their toll on Skywalker, making the young knight desperate to find a way to protect his lover Padme Amidala. This opened the Chosen One to the manipulations of Darth Sidious, who turned the newly christened Vader against the Jedi Order, slaughtering numerous Jedi and their younglings as part of Order 66.

However, Vader was defeated on Mustafar by his former master, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, leaving the Sith Lord with grievous injuries and burns so severe that he had to be encased in his iconic life support system. With his former identity fully relinquished, Vader became a feared enforcer of the emperor's regime, laying waste to any who would oppose Palpatine's will. However, Vader was defeated once more by his son, Luke Skywalker, in lightsaber combat during their final confrontation aboard the Death Star II. Being offered mercy by his son, Vader's paternal instincts took over as Palpatine began to electrocute Luke with a continuous stream of Force Lightning. Subduing his master from behind, Vader then tossed Palpatine into the reactor shaft to save Luke, sustaining fatal injuries and severe damage to his life support systems in the process. Luke then removes Vader's helmet, allowing Anakin Skywalker to look into his son's eyes for the first and final time before becoming one with the Force.

Energy Blasts (in the form of Kinetite),

Regeneration (Mid-Low; in the form of Force Healing),

Resistance to Poison, Matter Manipulation on a sub-atomic scale (as per editing the Holocron, to activate it, it requires one to make numerous precision alterations to it on a subatomic scale),

Resistance to Transmutation (resisted the effects of the Muur Talisman which turns even force users into monsters known as Rakghouls),

Battlemind,

Consume Essence,

Force Scream,

Force Stun,

Weaknesses: Darth Vader is vulnerable to electric attacks of sufficient strength due to being a cyborg, and he cannot use Force Lightning (He can shield himself with the force and also modify his suit against this but strong enough electric attacks can still kill him, such as Darth Sidious'), his suit acts as a life support system and he will die if removed from it, the control panel on his chest is a weak-spot that can easily be damaged.

Saber (Artoria Pendragon)

Background:

Saber is the Saber-class Servant of Kiritsugu Emiya during the Fourth Holy Grail War, and then of his son, Shirou Emiya, during the Fifth. Her actual name is Artoria Pendragon, better known as King Arthur, the "Once and Future King" and a legendary hero of Britain. She became king by pulling the sword Caliburn (Fate/stay night) from the stone. Later, the magic sword was destroyed, after which the Lady of Lake gave him Excalibur and Avalon.

She is not a true Heroic Spirit, but instead the real Artoria, who made a deal with the World to act as a Servant. She wants to win the Grail to change her past and prevent herself from becoming king so that the tragedies that have ever happened in her life never happens.

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics,

Enhanced Senses,

Master Swordswoman,

Precognition (Has a high rank in her Instinct skill to the point of bordering on precognition, allowing her to avoid fatal blows such as Cu's Gae Bolg and Kojirou's Tsubame Gaeshi),

Minor Mind Manipulation and Social Influencing with Charisma,

some Magecraft,

Air Manipulation with Invisible Air (Acts as a sheath of wind for Excalibur, rendering it invisible, and she can release it as an attack),

Forcefield Creation (Can form a defensive wall of air and use Avalon to produce a barrier that can block out even the True Magics),

Light Manipulation,

Holy Manipulation,

Heat Manipulation (The heat given off by Excalibur is capable of immolating Berserker and melting stone),

Energy Projection,

Statistics Amplification (Can reinforce her body with magical energy to increase her strength and durability),

Immortality (Types 1 and 3 with Avalon),

Regeneration (At least Mid-Low; regenerated from being severely injured and nearly killed by Enuma Elish, and from Gilgamesh cutting through her neck. Has also regenerated getting pierced by Gae Bolg in the chest and from her battle with Berserker. Low-Mid over time; Servants can continue fighting even with a hole through their gut and can regenerate unless their head/heart is destroyed or run out of mana. Low-Mid with Avalon; Shirou was able to regenerate from being nearly cut in half and having most of his internal organs destroyed with Avalon),

Animal Manipulation, can "ride" any vehicle or mount with supernatural skill,

Self-BFR,

Intangibility and Invulnerability with Avalon (Shuts out all interference up to the sixth dimension, including True Magic, can block attacks from a "higher-order dimension"),

Attack Reflection (Reflected Enuma Elish back at Gilgamesh using Avalon),

Limited Conceptual Manipulation (Avalon is considered a conceptual armament, and Shirou keeping it for a long time eventually overwrote his Origin into the concept of "Sword"),

Water Walking,

Supernatural Luck, Minor Fate Manipulation (Servants with B-rank Luck or higher can change their fates to evade inevitable outcomes such as having their hearts destroyed by Gáe Bolg),

Minor Technology Manipulation (Can apply Mana Burst to vehicles),

Limited Power Nullification and Servant Physiology

Weaknesses: The chivalric code binds Saber as a knight, and she'd thus never rely on underhanded or more pragmatic tactics. Her sixth sense can be fooled by things that Saber has never experienced. Unlike other Servants, Saber isn't a proper Heroic Spirit, possessing a physical body that cannot go into spirit form though she does not have this in the world of Fate/Grand Order. She harbors a great deal of self-loathing and regrets over her actions and perceived failures as the King of Britain, which can be exploited to rile her up or break her mentally. Losing the ability to use one of her hands properly will prevent her from using Excalibur to its fullest potential, reducing its range to that of an Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm and weakening it considerably.

Song: Servants of War

Within the vast expanse of the Nasuverse, myriad timelines coexist, some plagued by adversity and tragic ends, and others steeped in joy and contentment. The concept of a multiverse dictates that in some capacity, every possibility can manifest. With this in mind, we delve into an improbable crossover event, one that carries a legendarily grand scope.

In the midst of the pivotal Fifth Holy Grail War, a conflict predestined to unfold between Masters and their Servants, the sanctity of Fuyuki City was shattered by the sudden arrival of the Galactic Empire. With its fleets of Star Destroyers flying overhead and swarms of Stormtroopers invading the city, the Masters were forced to put aside their differences for the sake of preserving their way of life. Faced with this unforeseen extraterrestrial threat, the seven Masters came together in a truce, marshalling their Servants to combat the encroaching force.

Artoria Pendragon, known more commonly as Saber and the Servant of Rin Tohsaka, stood at the frontlines, embodying courage and valiance. She stood against the ominous Darth Vader, the fearsome leader of the galactic invasion, with her invisible air-sheathed sword forcefully colliding with his red-bladed lightsaber. Darth Vader's imposing voice, distorted by the helmet's modulating synthesizer, echoed through the air as he declared,

"The Force is strong within you. However, your power pales in comparison to the might of the Dark Side."

Despite the ominous tone, the steadfast King of Knights maintained her stoic expression, refusing to let the threat undermine her unwavering determination. Artoria, firm in her resolve, gazed boldly at Darth Vader, sensing the darkness that enveloped him. In a declaration filled with valor, she asserted,

"I sense great darkness within you, yet I have vanquished many evils in my time. For my honor and those who hold dear to me, I shall vanquish you, conqueror!"

With determination radiating from her, Saber pushed back against Darth Vader, her invisible sword poised and ready for the imminent clash. Artoria, propelled by a surge of speed, initiated a swift and calculated attack, aiming to strike Darth Vader across the chest. In response, Vader extended an arm to launch a Force push, only to see Artoria nimbly leap out of its path. Without missing a beat, she continued her advance with a cross cut, but Darth Vader parried the attack, using his lightsaber to deflect the assault. Taken aback by the sheer power behind his counterattack, even stronger than that of Berserker, Saber managed to block it, her surprise mounting at the incredible strength he wielded.

Artoria, with exceptional agility, soared over Darth Vader, launching herself into an overhead slash. Vader, demonstrating formidable reflexes, defended himself, rotating on his heels with an unshakeable stance. Landing gracefully, Saber persisted with her assault, her invisible sword moving with such velocity that its cloaked sheath created a whirlwind of precision and strength. Despite Vader's efforts to block each attack, he found himself increasingly overwhelmed by Saber's swiftness and remarkable skills, far exceeding his initial expectations.

Artoria deftly evaded Darth Vader's lightsaber swing by ducking under the strike, successfully landing a blow on his right shoulder plating. In response, Vader unleashed a surge of dark anger, expelling a potent Force wave that sent Artoria flying into a nearby wall, crying out in pain. Caught off-guard by the overwhelming power of the force unleashed, Saber struggled to defend or regroup herself. Darth Vader, fueled by an explosion of speed, lunged swiftly toward the King of Knights, unleashing an onslaught of intense and aggressive fighting style of Form VII, Juyo. Despite Saber's valiant efforts to defend herself, the sudden shift in fighting style, caught her off guard, struggling to adjust her defense. In an attempt to regain the upper hand, she attempted to leap over Vader, only to be seized by the Force, her throat gripped tightly, cutting off her airflow.

As Darth Vader tightened his grip on Artoria's neck with the Force, a victorious statement escaped him,

"All too easy."

With a violent toss, he hurled her towards a nearby car. However, displaying her remarkable agility, Saber somersaulted in midair, landing her feet against the car hood before launching a fierce counterattack, lunging towards Vader with a determined yell. Vader swiftly evaded the sword's reach, the distance between them growing as they both found their footing once more, preparing for the next move.

Darth Vader, exerting his power over the surrounding street debris, cars, and signs, unleashed a barrage of objects towards Artoria. However, before the onslaught could reach her, Saber unleashed her first Noble Phantasm, which was the sheath made of air. This action generated a massive vortex of air around her, catching the incoming objects and deflecting them harmlessly to the sides. Artoria, her sword radiating with a brilliant glow, declared in a resolute voice,

"You may wield a sword of light or harness mental forces, but you cannot defeat what I represent! I am the King of Knights, and I shall triumph with the greatest sword of all: Excalibur!"

Raising her sword, it started manifesting from the hilt to the tip of the blade, revealing its mythical, dragon-imbued steel, its golden glow illuminating the area. Saber leveled her newly unveiled Excalibur towards Darth Vader, preparing to unleash its power. With a swift movement, she directed the air that previously sheathed Excalibur, launching a torrent of destructive wind towards the Dark Lord. As the wave of wind and destruction surged forward, Darth Vader responded by extending a free hand, employing the Force to create a barrier, shielding himself from the onslaught. His cape fluttered wildly from the powerful wind, caught in the midst of the fierce storm.

The clash between Saber and Darth Vader intensified as they each leaped forward, launching into a fierce exchange of strikes and counterstrikes. Artoria's nimbler speed and well-honed battle instincts allowed her to land more blows, but the impact seemed minimal against the resilient Dark Lord. As the fight progressed, Darth Vader shifted his fighting style, transitioning from Juyo to Djem So, employing counterattacks to inflict grazing blows that left red burn marks on Saber's body.

Darth Vader retreated, exerting his mastery over Kinetite to create several concentrated balls of electricity. He then unleashed them towards Artoria, who successfully intercepted the bolts with Excalibur, the sword's holy properties shielding her from the dangerous electrical charge. Darth Vader strategically used the Force to generate a dust storm, obscuring himself within the dark, tumultuous clouds. Saber's armored dress fluttered fiercely with the wind, as she lost sight of her adversary in the chaotic storm. However, rather than succumbing to panic, Artoria remained composed, closing her eyes and relying on her instincts to guide her.

Guided by her instincts, the King of Knights swiftly sidestepped the sneak attack coming from behind and retaliated with a swift, precise strike from Excalibur. The blow connected with Darth Vader's life support system, causing the chest plate to malfunction and spark as it sustained damage. This unexpected hit resulted in Darth Vader gasping and coughing as he staggered back, signaling the impairment of his life support system. Artoria cautiously approached the beleaguered Darth Vader, her sword raised in readiness as he knelt, the dust storm around them subsiding. With a resolute tone, she declared,

"You require assistance to breathe? You should have protected such a vulnerable point more diligently. Your conquest ends here."

Saber swiftly raised her sword, attempting a quick decapitation strike, but Darth Vader swiftly deflected the sword's edge with the Force and ignited his lightsaber in response. The plasma blade shot forward, impaling Artoria in the midsection. She cried out in pain as she looked down, feeling the intense heat around her injury. With a menacing presence, Darth Vader rose to his full towering height, seizing Artoria by the neck and lifting her effortlessly off the ground. In a dark and ominous tone, he declared,

"You underestimate the true power of the Force. You are but a mere drop in the vast ocean that is the Dark Side. Now, feel the true depth of its power."

Using the Force, Darth Vader intruded into Artoria's mind, gaining access to her life history from her time period as the King of England. He witnessed her noble aspirations, her commitment to being the ideal ruler for her people, but also her ultimate failure to prevent the downfall of her kingdom. This inner turmoil and burden of responsibility echoed within the depths of her mind, a stark reminder of her perceived failure. Darth Vader's words echoed with cruel mockery within Artoria's mind, taunting her about her chosen destiny as a king, yet her failure to uphold it.

"You were chosen to rule as a king of destiny, yet you let everyone down. Your compassion for your people was your weakness. If you truly desired a successful rule, you should have possessed the strength to prevent its downfall. You let your emotions cloud your judgment, and thus allowed it all to unfold as it did."

As Darth Vader continued to probe into Artoria's mind, delving into her past and witnessing her dying moment as a fallen king resting against a tree in a gently lit forest, Saber felt an immense ache in her heart. Each failure and mistake she had made seemed to resurface, magnifying her pain. Meanwhile, she could sense Darth Vader's insidious influence, attempting to corrupt her very being.

Darth Vader approached the dying Artoria in her memories, his sinister plan clear: to bring her closer to the Dark Side. His words echoed with sinister persuasion.

"Surrender to the Dark Side. Embrace the pain, the anger, and the guilt that weigh upon your heart. Allow it to alter you into a king who wields not just honor and respect, but fear and power. Let the darkness consume you."

As Darth Vader neared the point of corrupting Artoria's heart entirely, she opened her eyes wider, her gaze unyielding as she stared defiantly into his mask. Her voice rang out with determination,

"I am aware of my failures. I let everyone down. Yet, if I were to submit to the allure of evil at this hour, all my sacrifices would be in vain. I will never break my oaths, and no one will sway me from my convictions! Not even you! Now, leave my heart!"

Darth Vader was forcefully ejected from Artoria's head, thrown out by her inner resistance to his surprise. In a swift motion, the King of Knights took advantage of the situation, executing a precise sword strike against the arm holding her aloft. The attack severed his lightsaber arm, the mechanical prosthetic falling to the ground with a clatter. Though Darth Vader had lost a limb and was channeling some of the Force to sustain his body without life support, his willpower remained firm. He repelled Artoria's subsequent assault, sending her flying into a distant building. With a resolute tone, he stated,

"If you refuse to yield to the Dark Side, then you will perish alongside your foolish convictions."

Darth Vader seized a building with the Force, lifting it off its foundation and hurling it towards Saber. But as the structure moved towards her, a radiant golden light gleamed from her position, signaling the activation of her Noble Phantasm. Raising Excalibur high, the King of Knights shouted,

"Witness the might of my power! Excalibur!"

Artoria swung Excalibur downward, unleashing a wave of golden light that disintegrated the incoming building and surged towards Darth Vader. Despite the Dark Lord successfully erecting a Force shield to deflect the direct energy, the adjacent power from the attack sent him flying backward amidst the flying debris from the nearby city blocks. Darth Vader echoed a cry in his flight, the ruins around them scattering with his momentum.

The aftermath of the clash was enveloped in a vast array of rubble and debris. Suddenly, however, Darth Vader's damaged yet operational metal arm emerged from the wreckage, determinedly pushing through the rubble that had buried him. His armor displayed signs of damage, with sparking circuits and exposed, scorched flesh beneath the charred leather.

Just as Darth Vader was about to regain his footing and continue the battle, he felt a searing pain in his chest. He cleared his vision and discovered Artoria, who had swiftly closed the gap between them and impaled him with Excalibur, pinning him to the ground beneath him. Despite the pain that persisted, Darth Vader felt a soothing radiance emanating from the sword piercing his body. Saber, with a compassionate tone, declared,

"You're not as lost as you think, Anakin Skywalker. Just as you delved into my memories, I glimpsed your own."

Despite the concealed expression, Darth Vader was taken aback by Artoria's words. She knelt beside him, placing her hand on his chest, and explained,

"You succumbed to the Dark Side due to your deep love for Padmé, and tragically, you killed her when she rejected your advances. However, she was aware of your underlying intentions, knowing that your motives, although flawed, were rooted in honor and the desire to protect those you cared for."

As Darth Vader experienced the profound impact of Artoria's words, his convictions and emotions started to waver. She confessed,

"Perhaps my greatest mistake was shutting off my emotions, just like you tried doing in your time as a Jedi. In my role as king, I placed my duties above my people, and in doing so, I failed them. You've helped me understand this by granting me insight into your love for Padmé and how far you were willing to go for her. I should have shown the same dedication to my own people."

Artoria recognized that Darth Vader was just on the brink, and just needed an extra push. She spoke gently but fiercely,

"The Dark Side has only brought you anguish and hardship. Though I can't undo the wrongs you've committed, I can aid you in forgiving yourself. The Jedi, Sith, and others had a role in shaping your choices, but ultimately, you chose the Dark Side willingly. That doesn't mean you shouldn't absolve yourself of the evils not entirely your fault. You've been a unfortunate victim of circumstances. Allow go of the malevolent presence within your heart."

Artoria's charismatic persuasion and Excalibur's holy magic worked together, enabling the resurgence of Anakin Skywalker within Darth Vader. He hadn't felt truly like himself in years. With his last breaths, he pleaded between ragged breaths,

"Please...remove my mask."

Saber gingerly removed the outer head piece and carefully lifted away the face cover, revealing a 45-year-old man with a prematurely aged appearance, bald and pale. However, his eyes were now blue, a stark contrast to the Sith yellow they turned when corrupted by the Dark Side. Anakin looked up at the sky, his gaze fixed on the moon above. Anakin's voice was filled with a mix of awe and gratitude as he spoke,

"I haven't seen the moon with my own eyes in what seems like forever. Thank... you…"

He then slumped back, his last breath escaping him. Artoria, with sorrow and compassion, gently closed his eyes, before pulling her weapon out of his body, flicking the blood from Excalibur's blade. Saber took a brief moment to observe the battlefield, witnessing her fellow Servants and their masters successfully pushing back the Empire's forces. Sensing that while she had achieved victory over her own adversary, true triumph would only come if they could expel all the remaining enemies from the planet. With determination, she raised Excalibur high and propelled herself back into the fray.

Strength: Now, this is where Darth Vader truly stomps. Death Battle has calculated his offensive abilities with the force to be 12 Yottatons of TNT. Saber has never displayed the same level of power, scaling more to Noble Phantasms that wield about 3 Teratons of TNT. This makes Darth Vader about 162 billion times more powerful with the Force.

Speed: However, he'd be hard pressed to generate that much pressure in one go, as both combatants have displayed feats that lets them move and react at light speed.

Skill: Artoria may have been the King of the Knights, the top of her class at saber combat, but Anakin was even more skilled, having trained from a younger age, and fighting at a time where he fought enemies closer to his skill, whereas Saber was mostly unchallenged with only a few of her caliber.

Experience: Anakin has much more experience. While it's unknown how old King Arthur was when he died, the estimated 35 seems a bit old for Artoria when she doesn't look older than her early to mid twenties. Even if she did die at 35, that only equalize the amount of time they've been fighting, and even then, Anakin has fought a bigger variety of foes as both a Jedi and Sith up to his death at 45.

Powers: While Saber lacked the range and power that the Force provides, her reaction ability would allow her a constant state of battle clairvoyance, while Anakin would need to dedicate himself to the same constant state. This would certainly help to give Saber an edge with their equaled speed. He could try to employ mind manipulation, but Saber would be strong enough will to not succumb to her Altered state. And while his Force shields are strong enough to block her strongest attacks, they're too widespread to completely stonewall them, leaving him open to a follow up attack while he tried to recover.

The winner is Artoria Pendragon
