Pentos 297AC
She was not sure where she was. It felt as if she were in a dream as if she were floating. She looked around and seemed to be standing in a garden.
But how could that be?
She had been in her chambers for the last three days crying over the death of her brother. Viserys had taken ill just shortly after they had arrived at Magister Illyrio's manse. He had gotten a fever and became delirious. Then he had collapsed and after a fortnight of trying to fight off the fever, her brother, her king, the last of her family left, died.
Dany had locked herself in her room and refused to see anyone. What was to come of her now? Alone in the world, no family, no friends, just her. What would the Magister do to her? Would he kill her now that King Viserys was dead? Would he hand her over to the Usurper? She wasn't sure, but she didn't trust anyone.
The lady from Volantis was nice, but she was so very strange. Lady Kinvara was her name. She had found them before they arrived at the manse and offered her services to Dany and Vis. Her brother was all to welcoming to have a women who kept speaking of how 'the dragons were the ones who were promised' in his inner circle.
To the princess, she just seemed strange.
"What you are seeing is real, Princess." A voice said.
Dany whipped her head around and was now face to face with said voice.
A man, she realized.
"Who are you? Where are we" She asked. Trying her best to hide how scared she really was. She kept her head high and tried to calm her self.
The man smiled at her "You need not fear me child of fire, for I would never harm one of my chosen."
His chosen?
"I'm sorry about Viserys, but it was better this way. He would have only suffered had he lived. He was lost years ago to you. The sweet boy who read you bed time stories, who told you of your ancestors and protected you died the day your mothers crown was sold." The man said.
Dany's breathe hitched "You.. you killed my brother? H.. how.. how could you!?" She choked out at the man as tears began to fill her eyes.
The man approached her slowly but Dany backed up so he stopped. "I did not kill him, I ended his suffering. His mind was poisoned. He was mentally ill, Daenerys. The decisions he was making for you, for your family, it would have led you both down a dark and painful road. It was better this way" He said.
"HE WAS MY BROTHER!" She screamed at him "And you killed him! Who are you?! Why would you do this? Do you not see that I am alone now? For all of my family is gone now, Viserys at least protected me!"
The man sighed "Do you know what he had planned for you, child? He was going to sell you to a Dothraki horse lord. He planned on selling your maidenhead for an army. Khal Drogo would eventually end up murdering your brother. It was better for you, and for him for this outcome. And as far as who I am? I am the man Kinvara speaks to you of. I am R'hllor. And you, Princess Daenerys, are not alone. Their is another dragon out their, in fact, their are two."
Her eyes widen at that "What? You lie.."
"I am not capable of lying, child. Its true. Your great grand uncle, Aemon Targaryen is alive. I believe he just had his one hundredth name day. He is in the North of Westeros at Castle black. As for the other dragon, you've already met him. Your nephew rides for the manse as we speak. All will be remembered when you wake up."
To say Dany was confused was an understatement. This was a dream, of that she knew for certain. This man, or ghost, or whatever he was, said he was R'hllor. If that was true, why would a god ever visit her? She did not believe in any gods. And to speak of two other dragons? Impossible! Viserys would have known if they had kin alive. And how could she have met her nephew already? This made no sense.
"I can see you're trying to figure out the truth of my claims. Your brother did not know about Maester Aemon Targaryen, nor did he know about your brother Rhaegar's son with the Lady Lyanna. If he had known, we both know he would not have been happy with another male heir alive, would he princess?" The man asked.
Of course not, she wanted to scream. Dany knew how Viserys always called himself their fathers heir. 'The one true King' he would say. If he had known about Rhaegar's son before his death, he would have lashed out for weeks. But still.. where has he been all this time? How is any of this possible?
"My dear child, we do not have much time, Aegon is almost here. I came to see you in hopes that you would remember this part of yourself." He said.
Dany shook her head "I don't understand.."
The man smiled at her "By the time we are done here, you'll be awake. Awake with all of your memories. You will likely be angry, and hurt. Both of which are understandable emotions. Though I do ask you to remember that he also was betrayed. You also are not blameless in all of this, Daenerys. Your own jealously had you making rash decisions that played right into the hands of your enemies. "
"You make no sense! My memories? What are you saying?" She demanded. She did not understand any of this.
The man approach her, and this time she did not back up. As he was now standing right in front of her, he placed his hand on her cheek "What is the one thing you dream of, child? The one thing your heart desires more then anything else?"
The Princess opened her mouth, but nothing came out.
The question burned through her. A million different dreams came to mind.
No one had ever asked her what she wanted. What she desired.
"Say it, Daenerys. What is it that you dream for?" He asked her again.
Without hesitation she answered "Home." She whispered. "I just want to go home."
R'hllor nodded "And home you shall go, child. Though I ask you to remember that. Remember that in your anger. Remember that in your hurt, and remember that in your need and want for revenge. For you may not have been guilty of your last act, but you are not innocent either. You are fire made flesh, fire and blood. Just as your beloved dragons are. The gods created you with a good heart, Daenerys Stormborn. An ember that burns so very brightly inside of you, ready to shine its light on others. You are your mothers daughter, not your fathers." R'hllor said. He stepped back from her, his hands now clapped in front of him "You always say 'If I look back, I'm lost.' But sometimes we must look back child, so we learn from our mistakes. So we do not repeat them"
For some reason, his words touched her. Though she still did not understand them, they made her feel something.
"Be the light, Daenerys. Do not let the ember die out once more. Darkness is far too easy to fall into, do not give them the satisfaction of being right about your family. This second chance, it will not come again. If you want your deepest desires to come true, forgiveness is the only way. Forgive him, and forgive yourself." He said.
Dany watched as the man turned around and began to walk away.
She was still trying to process all of this. She wondered if perhaps someone had drugged her and she was hallucinating like her brother was while with fever.
The man stopped as he was now standing under a lemon tree . He reached up and plucked one off of the tree and smelled it, he then turned to her and said "Home, and a real family. It awaits you on the island of your ancestors in Westeros. All that was taken from you, the gods will repay thrice over. But you must choose, my child. Will the dragon have three heads? Or will your anger and vengeance turn all that you love to ash?" He asked her.
Dany was speechless. She was not sure what any of this meant, but she couldn't help but feel as if it was a pivotal moment. She watched as the man, R'hllor, walked away and then faded away. Thats when she heard it. A small giggle. A Childs laugh.
Dany turned her head toward the sweet sound and sure enough a small girl with dark hair stood in a bed of flowers "Muna! Come home to us, muna! I'm still here. Papa is, too!" The little girl shouted to her with a bright smile on her face. "Remember this part of you, muna!"
Daenerys felt her heart burst with love at the little girls words. When she stepped towards the little girl she felt as if she was spinning.
And then suddenly everything went black.
She had woken up screaming.
The servants ran into her chambers but she yelled at them to leave her.
For hours she yelled and raged. Trashing everything in her room.
Magister Illyrio had entered and on sight she wanted to burn him. The man who helped her brother sell her.
After he had left her, Dany had looked around her chambers at the destruction and thats when it happened. She fell to the ground and cried. Hours and hours of sobbing.
She remembered everything.
Everything that had happened in Kings Landing was somewhat of a blur. She had not known Vary's was poisoning her at the time. But that didn't matter.
What she did, the destruction she caused.
She became worse then her father.
"Forgive him, and forgive yourself." R'hllor had said to her. Dany knew what that meant. Who he was speaking of.
Jon.
He killed her. He kissed her, and then shoved a dagger in her heart. His lips on hers as he killed her the same way his brothers killed him.
How was she to forgive him for that? How was she to trust him again? She could not. He killed her, he killed their child! She still remembers when Missandei and the Dothraki healer told her she was with child. It was shortly after the fight against the Night King. She did not believe it. No matter how many times Missandei told her, she could not hope for it. Her belly swelled slightly and by the time she had gotten to Dragonstone she was finally starting to believe.
And then Rhaegal died.
And her dearest friend..
Sweet Missandei.
Another life taken from her.
What was she to do now with all this knowledge? She had spent the entire day screaming and crying in her chambers, the sun was setting now. Had that much time really gone by? Her thoughts had been interrupted by yelling from the other side of the door.
Dany stood up and ran to the side of her bed, grabbing the dagger she had taken from Viserys shortly after he had died. She stood in the middle of the room with the dagger in hand, ready for whatever was going to step through that door.
She watched as the door handle slowly moved and she prepared her self.
When it finally opened her violet eyes began to burn with fire. Standing in the threshold, with a sword in hand was none other then her murdered.
Jon Snow.
Her hand gripped the dagger even harder.
"Dany.." He said as he dropped his sword and took a step inside her chambers.
Their was a part of her that was scared of him.
What if he is here to kill me again?
Perhaps he should after what he saw that I am capable of.
"Forgive him, and forgive yourself." R'hllor's words whispering in the back of her mind.
Jon pulled off his doublet and tossed it to the ground and approached her. She could tell he was trying to show that he had no weapons on him.
She held up her other hand, the one that was not clutching the dagger, to stop him from approaching her.
He did as she commanded. Daenerys could see the tears In his eyes as he was now only a few steps away from her.
"Dany, im so sorry.." He said to her.
It seemed as if it was these words that finally broke her fears. She stomped toward him and cocked her arm back and slapped him straight across the face. For what its worth, Jon did not react. He took the pain she inflicted upon him and then looked her dead in the eyes. Thats when Dany pulled her dagger up and held it to his chest. She watched as Jon flinched, but he did nothing to stop her.
"Do it. If its what will bring you peace, do it. I deserve it." He said. Tears were now flowing down his cheeks. She hadn't realized they were flowing down hers as well.
She looked at her hand that was holding the dagger to his heart and she suddenly found herself back in the throne room. Ash covering the city, the smell of burnt corpses. The sounds of screaming women and children after the destruction she had done. Words ringing in her head once more "For you may not have been guilty of your last act, but you are not innocent either." The lord of light had told her.
Her hand was trembling now. Her mind was racing.
He killed me.
But I slaughtered a city.
He killed our child
But I promised Fire and Blood to the world.
So many feelings were passing through her. She could feel it beginning to consume her. Anger, rage, pain, heart break.
"Remember this part of you, muna!" Her little girls words brought her back from the abyss and she dropped the dagger.
Dany looked up at him thinking of those words once more as she stared into his grey orbs"Forgive him, and forgive yourself."
"I'm sorry." She whispered to him. "I'm so sorry."
"Dany.." He tried to say but she cut him off by throwing her arms around his neck.
Jon held her close and they stood their, in each others embrace, and cried all the tears they had left.
How much time had passed? She was not sure. At some point or another, Jon had carried her to the bed and laid down with her.
The sun had risen once more and when she awoke he was staring down at her.
They spent the morning talking. He had told her everything. Everything that had happened after her death. What he had done to give them another chance, and everything he had been doing this last year.
He had apologized over and over. Breaking down in sobs as she held him close to try and calm him. Part of her thought how foolish she was being. To forgive a man that had murdered her. But he too had been betrayed.
Jon may have killed her, but she knew that he had done the right thing. The Queen he saw that day was not the Queen he had bent the knee to. She snapped at him more then once at some of the choices he made, but they had actually talked through it. He acknowledged his foolishness in it all. He took ownership of his own mistakes and the pain he caused her. Pulling away from her.
And she did the same. She knew she had not acted kindly when she found out who his parents were. She too apologized over and over.
Jon told her of his plans. Well, an over view of them at least. She had been shocked to learn of his gaining of Dragonstone.
Where had this clever Jon Snow been the first time, she had wondered.
They were still laying in her bed when a knock pulled them from their conversation. "What?" Jon said annoyed at the interruption
"Uhm.. Jon? Its mid afternoon, perhaps you and her grace can come out and let us all know of your plans?" Edd's voice said from behind the door.
Jon grunted "Aye. We'll be there in a few"
Dany raised a brow "Let us all know?" She asked.
At this he had finally smiled. He pushed the silver hair that fell in front of her eyes behind her ear and said "Aye. I brought a few friends with me."
Jon sat up and held his hand out for her to take. She hesitated at first, but then placed her small hand in his and followed him out of her destroyed chambers.
They walked through the manse and it was the fist time Dany wondered, where was Illyrio? She had not even asked Jon about the magister once. They had been yelling and crying at each other all night, she had not spared a single thought on the man until now.
When they entered the dining room of the manse her heart nearly fell from her chest at the face she was looking at. She felt tears begin to form in her eyes.
Jon squeezed her hand bringing her back to the present.
"Khaleesi." He said.
"You.. you remember?" She asked. Shocked at the title.
The man nodded and smiled sadly at her.
She let go of Jon's hand and rushed forward. She blinked back the tears as best as she could. "Ser Jorah.." She said as she looked up at him. "I'm sorry. I failed you. I failed all of you." She said to him.
Her bear knight pulled her in for a hug, and the tears finally fell.
"You did no such thing." Jorah said. "I swore myself to you, Khalessi. I'd give my life for yours again if it meant saving you."
She pulled away from him and wiped her tears "No my friend. I do not deserve that kind of sacrifice."
She watched the painful expression he gave her. "Khalessi.."
"Danerys. Please. I am not a Khaleesi or a Queen anymore." She said firmly.
Jorah nodded sadly and then moved out of the way.
Standing behind her bear knight, was none other then her dearest friend. Dany gasped at the sight of her, but she did not see the same look in the girls eyes.
Jon cleared his throat "Dany, this is Lady Missandei of Naath. Ser Jorah bought her from the slave masters in your name, and offered her a chance to go home." He said to her with a knowing look. She came to realize that unlike Jorah, Missandei did not have memories of their past. "The lady chose to come with Ser Jorah to meet you and be one of your handmaidens if you so please."
Her heart broke hearing this. She wouldn't lie.
Missandei was her truest friend. Knowing that she did not recognize her, broke her heart, but it also warmed her heart knowing that she would be safe and away from Kraznys.
"Princess. Its an honor to meet you. I am here to serve you, as you need. My freedom I owe to you." Missandei said as she curtsied.
Dany stepped toward her and grasped her hands in her own and squeezed them. Missandei's eyes widened "No. You are a free women. You owe me nothing, Missandei. Nor do you owe anyone else a thing. Ser Jorah liberated you from evil men, but neither he, nor I, gave you your freedom. You took it. I would be honored to have you as a friend and confidant. And if their ever comes a time where you wish to return to your home of Naath, you need only say the words and I will make sure that you have a ship and the means to get there."
Missandei looked shocked. "I.. I thank you, Princess."
"Daenerys. Please, call me Daenerys." Dany replied.
Missandei smiled and nodded at her.
"Dany, I'd also like to introduce you to Edd, Gren, and Pyp. Friends of mine from Westeros." Jon said, breaking her out of her lock on Missandei.
She turned to look at the three men. One looked rather familiar and she wondered if she had possibly met or seen him in the past.
"Its a pleasure to meet you all, my lords. I hope your travel here was kind." Dany said with a charming smile on her face.
The three young men all blushed and she bit her lip to control her grin. When she turned to Jon she saw the smirk on his face.
"Pr..pr..princess." The lighter haired one said as he bowed.
Dany giggled "Please, call me Daenerys. Their is also no need to be so formal, any friends of Jon's, are friends of mine."
One of the darker haired ones, the one she thought she recognized stepped forward "Your gr.." He started but corrected himself "Daenerys, it's good to meet you. We're glad to know you're safe."
"Thank you, my lord. Its nice to see you again." Dany replied with a smirk.
The young mans eyes widened, likely at the fact that she recognized him.
Jon chuckled "Alright, I'll have the cooks start on some super for us all. Edd, Gren, Pyp, in the mean time, if you could please search the manse for Dany's dragon eggs, that would be most helpful."
Dany whipped her head around, she had not even thought about the eggs. Part of her felt as if she would find her sons flying in the sky already. Before she could say another word a flash of white came running towards her, followed by a flash of black.
"Ghost!" Jon shouted.
She gasped as a furry white wolf began to circle her feet begging for attention, followed by another small wolf. This one was all black.
She reached her hand down for both wolves to sniff, no fear from her. After a few seconds they began to lick her hand, making her giggle. Dany had remembered seeing Ghost at Winterfell in the past, but she had never met him. This black wolf she did not remember.
Jon approached her trying to pull the two wolves away. He laughed "Dany, meet Ghost." He said.
"Hello, Ghost. You are a good boy aren't you" She cooed.
"And who is this?" She asked as she looked over at the black wolf who was crying for attention.
She sat down onto the ground and the fluffy black wolf jumped into her lap and began licking her face. She finally pulled away and noticed the two red ruby eyes staring back at her.
Just like Ghost's she thought. Though, a few shades darker.
"I found them on the way to White Harbor. The mother had been killed and they were snuggled up on her." Jon explained. That was a rather different story then the last time. She remembered Jon telling her of how he and his siblings found the six wolves. "I named the male Ghost, but the female I had a feeling belonged to someone else, so she's been waiting for you to name her." He said as he looked at her and smiled.
Her eyes widened at him "But I'm not a Stark!" She exclaimed.
Jon chuckled "Aye, and neither am I."
The female wolf yipped trying to get her attention once more. Dany looked down at her, her pretty black fur and her dark red eyes, it reminded her of her house colors.
A name?
She thought of what to name a wolf. It would obviously be different then the names she'd give her dragons.
And then it hit her. She had spent some time in the library when they first arrived and she remembered reading about the moon.
"Her name will be Luna." Dany said with a smile as she patted her head.
"Luna?" Ser Jorah asked.
She smiled at her bear knight "Yes, Luna. They say when a Lunar Eclipse appears it casts a dark shadow that blacks out the light in sky and the moon turns a shade of red. Just like this sweet girl here." Dany rubbed under her chin "What do you think about that? Hmm? Does Luna work for you?" She asked the wolf.
Luna yipped and licked her face. Bringing more giggles to her. "I will take that as a yes"
After a while everyone began to leave the dining room and Dany finally looked up at Jon and asked "Jon, where is Magister Illyrio?"
Dragonstone 297AC
They had spent a moon turn in Pentos. After Dany had learned that Jon had Magister Illyrio locked up and awaiting his execution, they had cleaned out the manse of all of its gold, jewels and collectables. The red temple was repaid for the coin that Jon had apparently borrowed from them, and the Unsullied guards that Illyrio had hired, were released. Kinvara had offered for the twelve of them to accompany the freed men back to the Red Temple. Dany had made sure Jon knew she would still be going to Astapor when the time came and she'd do as she had done the last time to the slave masters. He was not happy with it since it would mean her leaving Westeros for a time, but he did not argue with her. He knew what Grey worm and his men meant to her. Their was still plenty of time for that anyways.
The two other Magisters that had been staying at the manse with Illyrio had been imprisoned as well. All three were using slaves despite the fact that Pentos was a free city. Daenerys had figured Jon would take their heads, but instead he had a pyre built.
Edd had found her eggs and much like last time, she walked into the burning pyre and walked out un-burnt with three baby dragons.
Dany would never forget the looks of awe on Jon or his friends faces. Kinvara had said some chant before hand and assured her that in doing this, the Lord of Light would help her sons grow much faster then last time.
They had then burnt down the manse and sailed West.
The first stop was Kings Landing. Jon had not wanted to go there, considering the danger. But after he had told her about Ser Barristan, she had to. She also needed to return to the place of her biggest destruction. Missandei had helped her with dyeing her hair brown so that the silver would not alert anyone. Once they arrived in the city, Jon had demanded she keep her hood up. He hated this, she knew it. The moment they stepped off the ship he had her clutched to his side the entire time. Ser Jorah had stayed on the ship with the dragons and the wolves.
The moment she walked into the Inn and met with Barristan, the knight had fallen to his knees.
"I failed you, my queen. I beg for your forgiveness" Ser Barristan said.
"Rise, Ser Barristan." Dany replied. The knight stood to his feet and she stepped toward him and hugged him. "You did not fail me. You never have. You never betrayed me, nor lied to me. You always believed in me, and it was I who failed you. I ask for your forgiveness, Ser Barristan. I ask that you stay alive this time, for I can not handle losing you again." She said to him.
The knight was moved, tears brimming in his eyes when she pulled away and looked up at him.
"Your grace.." he began.
She shook her head "Daenerys." She said as she reached for his hand and squeezed it. "I am not a Queen anymore, Ser Barristan. I am just Daenerys Targaryen now, and I want my friends and my family to call me as such."
The knight had agreed, even if it pained him to say it. He had also agreed to meet them on Dragonstone the moment the Lannister's dismissed him. For now he'd be their eyes and ears in the Red Keep.
Dany had also met, Kira. The women who ran the brothel. She had teased Jon endlessly about his relationship with the women. Even if she knew deep down he did not have that kind of relationship with her, she still liked to mess with him.
Kira had recognized her right away. Which had scared Jon half to death.
"My Queen!" Kira had said as soon as Dany lowered her hood. Even with the dark hair, Kira said she was the very image of Queen Rhaella. They spent some time speaking of her mother, Kira had nothing but good things to say about her. Learning about her mothers projects and her love for children brought joy to Dany's heart.
Especially since their were only a hand full of people left who likely knew anything of her royal mother.
She walked around Flee Bottom and Fishmongers Square with emence guilt. How many of these people had she killed that day?
When a child would run by, she would see the image of their burned bodies in her mind. The entire time she had said about a million apologies in her head, but even then it felt like it was not enough.
Once they had left, Jon had finally relaxed. It took two days to get to Dragonstone. Her sons were restless on the ship the closer they got. She wondered if they knew they too were home.
They had docked and were met with none other then, Ser Davos Seaworth.
She had looked at Jon wondering if he too had his memories, but he was just as shocked to see the Onion knight as she was. Davos was apparently the Castellan.
Dany was introduced as Jon's wife. A plan they had agreed to as the safest. Their was no way they could let her identity be known this early. She and Jon had married before they left Pentos, Kinvara had married them in the religion of the Lord of Light, though they had not yet consummated their marriage due to the pain that was still their. Jon had not pushed her on it either. They both agreed that their was no reason to rush anything. Despite all that happened, she could never picture loving another man. It would not be easy, she knew it would take time, but healing wounds from the past was the best decision for both of them.
Walking into her families ancestral home this time around, felt so much better. This time she was not coming home, alone. This time Jon was with her, and he had promised soon, uncle Aemon would join them as well.
Ser Davos had given them a tour of the castle, even though she already had the in's and outs, she was playing the dutiful wife so she listened and asked questions.
The man was as kind as he was when she knew him in the past, and a part of her knew that her husband had debated on restoring the Onion knights memories, but he ultimately decided against it. Jon had purposely picked people who had not seen or known of the destruction she had caused. Besides Tormund, who she knew was his most trusted friend. Dany was grateful for that, for she was still deeply ashamed, but she felt for Jon. And she too missed the relationship Davos and she had made during their short time together.
After a moon turn, Davos had left to return to his family in Cape Wrath. Jon had asked if he would send one of his sons in a few moons to help with the navy since they would need Captians, and of course the old knight agreed. His third oldest son, Matthos would be the one to come to Dragonstone.
They were sitting in their chambers in front of the hearth. Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion were jumping around happily as Jon fed them. She had kept their names the same, she could not bring herself to change them. Even if Drogo was not her husband in this life, he was still a mighty Khal she named her most fierce child after. Luna and Ghost were sitting at her feet. The two Direwolves were growing, she knew that they, much like the dragons, were even more restless on the ship. As soon as they had docked both fur balls took off on to the beach chasing after one another.
"Any news from Edd, yet?" Dany asked.
Jon tossed another piece of meat to Drogon before turning to her "Not yet, but he knows what to do. I have faith in him."
She knew he was being honest but she still was nervous. "Are you sure it was safe? Kinvara only had a few freed men to accompany them."
He chuckled "Aye, love. They'll be fine. Edd is a fine warrior, and Gren and Pyp can hold their own. I spent moons training with them. They'll collect the seeds and be back on their way soon enough."
Before leaving Pentos, Jon had another mission for his three friends. Apparently after her death, a slaver from Qhor had been traveling through the Undisputed lands and came across a rare seed. A seed that he had taken home with him and planted. That seed turned into a blossom, that then turned into a bean. A coffee bean. The man had harvested the seeds and discovered that once they turned into beans, those beans could be ground down to make a drink called coffee. Jon had told her that it had caffeine in it, which helped people wake up. Apparently the slaver had made huge wealth from this which in turn had grown the slave trade, including turning the Bay of Dragons back into Slavers Bay.
Hearing this had broken her heart.
Her husband had decided on taking the seeds before the slaver could, and making sure that the Targaryens would see the wealth from this instead. And eventually said wealth would help with Dany's mission to rid the world of slavery completely. Knowing Jon had thought about that had made her love him even more.
"And you have tried this coffee?" She asked.
Her husband nodded "I have. A few sailers brought it to Hardhome and brewed it, its truly liquid gold. Its best to drink it hot, though some people like it cold. Some put milk in theirs, I heard a few even add sugar to it. It helps with waking up in the morning, and it was quite enjoyable in the cold snows. It was the biggest item traded throughout the East, Westeros was in such shambles at the time only a few houses could afford it. The man from Qhor became one of the wealthiest men in the world."
That last part angered her, but she knew if Edd was able to accomplish this, those innocents would never be put in chains.
"I look forward to trying it." She said.
Jon smiled at her. "We have the perfect climate here on Dragonstone for it, we'll need to hire farmers eventually." He said.
"As soon as our banner men arrive, I will enquire about hiring some." Dany said.
Jon stood up and then pulled her to stand up with him. His hands went to her hips and he kissed her on the forehead. "You still okay with letting them know the truth?" He asked.
She stood on her tip toes and kissed him on the lips. A chaste kiss. They were still working on intimacy.
"I am. The houses of the Narrow Sea came here with our family from Valyria. My former hand was a fool for not telling me about that, nor trying to get their allegiance as soon as I arrived in Westeros. We won't make that same mistake." Dany said. She had not had a formal education, everything she knew about her family was from her brother. Jon had bought dozens of books for her to read during their trip from Pentos.
He nodded "Davos told me when we traveled here the first time that even though Stannis had formed a working relationship with them, their was always a disconnect due to what happened during the Rebellion. He said he could tell the loyalty was still with House Targaryen. Many of them were here guarding your mother when Stannis attacked, many helped you and Viserys escape. I believe we will be able to trust them and with their help, enact the next phase of my plans." Jon said.
Dany bit her lip "Are you sure you want to go through with that? The plan is mad, Jon."
He chuckled at her "Aye, I'm going through with it. I told you, every single one of them will suffer for what they did."
Daenerys was hesitant, he could be caught, and they did not have an army, nor grown dragons yet "And if Tywin catches you?"
Her husband smirked "Relax, love. No one is gonna catch me. A really pissed off ally will be on their way here soon, she'll make sure it works flawlessly."
"An ally? Who?" She asked. This bit of information she was not privy to.
"Someone with an axe to grind against the lions." He said. "I think it's time all of Westeros finds out that Lannister's don't in fact shit gold."
