Paw Patrol X
Season Four Epilogue: The Choices We Make
The day after Wave defeated Miranda, a tombstone with the name Miranda Rivers was shown next to the tombstone for Tucker Rivers, with a shovel patting the grave's dirt. The paws holding said shovel were those of a Dalmatian, who was then revealed to be Wave. She was currently in a wheelchair as a result of the injuries she faced fighting Miranda. She seemed to have a smile on her face, but not one of spite or vengeance. It was a smile of contentment. Surprisingly, she felt at ease burying Miranda next to her husband.
Nearby was Zuma, who was helping Wave bury Miranda while questioning Wave's decision. "You weally are something F.M.." She hadn't shared her new name yet. She was saving that for the party for saving Adventure bay. "I totally would've denied giving Miwanda this kind of couwtesy." Zuma leaned on his shovel after placing it on the ground and holding onto it. "Especially if I were in yours or Mawshall's positions. The fact that she took both of your pawents would be too much."
Wave wasn't surprised to hear that. She knew from the start this would be a questioned decision. She was also happy to tell Zuma why she made it. "I know she was a sad, bitter old lady at the end of the day, and that taking her out was for the best. I'd have to be insane to deny something like that." Wave then showed sorrow, still having a bit of empathy for Miranda. But only a little bit. "Still. This all started with the death of her husband. And even though she did this to herself by shutting everyone out for revenge, I know she still loved Tucker."
Zuma couldn't help but look amazed at how Wave was able to emphasize with someone like Miranda. "This is what she would've wanted. And as awful as she was... I still want her to be with the one being who still cares about her, as much as she cares about them."
Zuma shook his head with a smile before acknowledging how far Wave must have gone to find that feeling. "No way that was an easy conclusion to come to."
Wave nodded her head no to confirm that, and then she took Miranda's trident and placed it on the grave. She didn't want her to avoid accountability for who she became after Tucker died, nor did she want them to be separated for any longer than need be. "Even if they aren't together in the afterlife, at least they'll be together around here." Wave then rolled over to Blaze and Wave Sr.'s graves before leaving. As she looked at them, she gave a salute out of respect, love, and admiration for them.
Wave and Zuma then left after Zuma nodded in respect for that, bringing up how Wave operated once they reached the gate to the cemetery. "I'll be honest F.M.. I'm suwpwised you were even able to considew doing this." Wave looked at Zuma, who brought up everything Miranda's done. "After evewything Miwanda's done, fwom killing Blaze, to tainting the Mew-Pups way of thinking, to using Cowal, and killing Wave... and what she did to you." Wave laughed a bit in reference to her temporary wheelchair. "You still gave her ten cents wowth of compassion. Why?"
Wave thought about that for a moment, and she only had one answer. She smiled when she gave it to Zuma, as she firmly believed it was the honest one. "I don't know. I guess I just don't have it in me to stay mad at someone all the time." Wave looked at Zuma, who couldn't help but feel the extent of her compassion. "I just do what I think is right."
Zuma found the sight of Wave's purity beautiful before wiping a tear of joy from his eye. To think he saw the limits of how kind she was. And her answer was exactly the kind he expected. One of a good hearted, tenacious, and fun loving Canine, who lived by how she felt, and did what she thought was right. That was someone Zuma, and everyone else, were always happy to consider a friend. And the fist bump the two of them shared was all it took for Wave to see that.
Wave and Zuma continued their way to Zuma's hovercraft, which is what they took this time as everyone else set up the party back home. Zuma pressed a button that made a ramp for Wave to use so she could get in. Once she hopped in, Zuma jumped into the driver's seat and waited for Wave to put on her seat belt, just like him. After that, he set off back to Adventure Bay. Wave smiled as she breathed in through her nose, and out with her mouth. As of today, she could finally say that Miranda's reign of terror would never hurt anyone again.
Back in Adventure Bay, the party was almost finished being set up as Chase told Arrby a funny story about Wave's last birthday. "And then they found out that my butt destroyed the bathroom, and the explosion was me farting and pooping. And that's how I got banned from Mexico."
"Wow. Remind me to stay away from you after you eat Mexican food." Arrby responded, being in shock that Chase could do something like that.
Rocky and Charm were setting up the final banner for the event. Once they did, Rocky felt it appropriate to ask one question he had as they descended from their ladders. "So. Charm. Now that you've reached a point where you can feel good about yourself, what do you plan to do?"
"Pssh. As if you even need to ask." Charm asked with a smirk, making Rocky happy as his tail started wagging, showing he already figured out Charm's answer. Charm also sighed before opening up to him, showing that he was now okay with expressing his vulnerability. "I never had the chance to enjoy the life we lived before Rocky. Our father isolated me from everyone, I never got to see our mother, and we never truly got to know each other." Charm crossed his arms as he continued. "Living with all of you is the first time I've felt like I have a family."
Rocky gave a sly grin while joking about what happened before this point. "A family you tried to kill at least three times for each member."
"Yeah, I'm still not quite at the place where I'm able to joke about it." Charm admitted, showing that while he had changed for the better, said change was still a gradual process. Rocky understood and and nodded to show it, and Charm smiled when expressing the joy in living with the Paw Patrol. "I learned so much about myself here than I ever have leading my army. And I want to learn more as I grow up." He then looked directly at Rocky, showing that he wanted him to be there for it. "I wouldn't have anyone else by my side during that time."
Rocky couldn't help but start tearing up, running over to Charm and giving him a big hug. Charm was surprised by this before smirking and requesting that Rocky let go of him. "Hey; get off of me, would ya?"
Rocky laughed a bit before pulling Charm away and confirming what he already thought. "Sorry. Consider that my way of saying yes."
"Already have." Charm confirmed, feeling at ease knowing that he was finally in the life of those who truly grew to care about him. And now, he could start making decisions that helped others, and made him feel good. He was confident that as long as he was with the Paw Patrol, he would be able to continue making the right choices, while also living a life that made him happy.
Wave and Zuma were arriving back in Adventure Bay, and Skye offered to get Wave for Marshall, knowing it was still challenging for him to walk without flinching. "I'll go get her Marshall. You just sit here and relax."
"Thanks Skye. That'd be great." Marshall replied, and then he continued to sit with Chase and Everest, who kept him company while he continued to heal from his shock wounds.
Skye ran over to Wave and Zuma, the latter of whom helped Wave get out by putting the ramp back out. "Caweful F.M.. You know what Katie said about using this on snad."
"I think that's why Skye came over." Wave pointed out, and Skye took the handles on her wheelchair so she wouldn't have to use her only working paw to push her wheels on the sand. As Skye pushed her over there, Wave saw Coral talking to Claw and made a request. "Skye, Coral wanted to talk before the party. Could you get her for me please?"
"Of course. Take all the time you need." Skye assured Wave, bringing her over to a more private spot near the beach where she could easily roll. "I'll let the others know so you and Coral can talk in private."
"Awesome. Thanks Skye." Wave responded, glad that Skye was ready to help her make this private talk happen.
Skye went over to the others, leaving Zuma to head off and do his own thing once Gabe, Celeste, and Melody arrived. He was beyond happy to see his family again and let Skye know. "Skye, watching F.M. is all you and the others for now. I've got some Thownes to hug!"
Zuma ran over to his family in joy, leaving Skye to giggle before addressing Wave's request to Coral. "Coral, F.M. wanted me to tell you that she's ready for your talk. I helped her up to the walkway close by."
"Great! Thanks!" Coral hugged her cousin after responding and headed off to talk to Wave. After Coral headed off to talk to Wave, Skye smiled as she thought about how great everything worked out. Coral was happy now, everyone was safe, and now they were all having a party to celebrate saving Adventure Bay. They lost a lot of lives during the battle, and they should be mourned as well, which they did yesterday. But for now, Skye was going to enjoy the day like everyone else. And she now felt she and Coral would stay in touch, and that she could let her go.
Wave and Coral were now talking on the beach, where Coral first showed curiosity regarding what Wave and Zuma did back in Twin Flame Island. "How was burying Miranda?"
Wave figured a question like that was bound to happen sooner or later. She was glad Coral was ready to ask about it now. "It was... peaceful."
Coral was surprisingly glad to hear that. She only wished she could've come with Wave and Zuma. "I'm glad. Even after everything she did, I'm glad she still had a farewell like that from this world." Coral wasn't exactly sure how much her emotions made sense. She hoped Wave wouldn't feel weirded out by her mentioning them. "F.M.?" Wave listened closely, taking Coral's paw with her good paw to assure her that she was there. "Is it weird that a part of me still... loves Miranda?"
That was something Wave had to think about for a moment. She didn't judge Coral for it, but she knew she wanted an answer that sounded right. After thinking it over for a few seconds, she came to her own conclusion. "I don't think so." Coral didn't expect that, knowing quite well how much Miranda hurt Wave's family. Thankfully, how Wave explained it helped her understand it better. "She was a terrible person; no doubt about it. But she still took you in, and brought you to PupLantis. She granted your dream of being a Mer-Pup for seven years."
Coral saw Wave's point, and was glad she was being so understanding about this. It helped her feel a lot better, especially as Wave kept speaking. "I think we both know that I don't know anything about being raised by someone who was mistreating you, and passing it off like tough love. And I'm not trying to validate what she did, or say what she had you do was good for you in any way. So you can take this with a grain of salt. But I think it, makes sense, that there will always be a part of you that loves her."
Coral reflected on Wave's words for a moment, leaning on the side wall as she thought about what she just told her. It wasn't as if Wave was telling her she had to like this side of her. She just felt it wasn't illogical for it to always be inside of her. Perhaps this was like Charm with his demon blood. It was something she would always have, but she didn't have to let it make her who she was. She just had to accept it, and continue making choices on her own. She couldn't help smiling as she came to this realization. "At least I can decide how I feel about it on my own."
Wave couldn't help laughing at the hidden self jab Coral made at her indecisiveness from before. There was one more thing Coral wanted to know however, before they got back. "So." Wave had a good idea she knew what this was about. She could see the remorse Coral still had for her indirect assistance in Wave's death. "I guess it's time for you to either, forgive me, or tell me to leave you alone forever."
Wave giggled a bit, but not directly at Coral. She knew this conversation was gonna come up sooner or later. Thankfully, she had an answer for Coral. "Guess so." And her answer, as she smiled when looking at Coral, showed she was confident they could both accept it. "But... I don't think I can do either."
Coral hoped she understood that correctly, kneeling down to Wave to look right into her eyes as she asked for clarification. She had a feeling she knew what it meant, she just wanted to be sure. "Meaning?"
"We can be friends." Wave answered, continuing to hold Coral's paw as she finished clarifying what she meant. "I think there are some friendships that can be formed, or have a mutual agreement to keep them going. Even if forgiving that person isn't an option for you." Coral noticed Wave continuing to smile as she spoke. "I just hope I didn't hurt you by being unable to do the latter."
"No, you didn't. You don't owe me anything." Coral assured Wave, smiling back as she assured her that she was okay with her decision. "I talked to Marshall and Margareth about it earlier. Believe it or not, they said the same thing. It was kind of surprising to see you were all on the same page."
Wave wasn't surprised to hear that. She had a feeling she knew why all three of them said the same thing. "That's gotta be our mom and dad talking." Coral was glad to hear that, and she and Wave let the moment sink in for a bit. They were glad that they both wanted to stay friends, in spite of all that went down. It felt even better to know that they were both able to get closure at the end of it all. Wave let go of her paw before declaring that the party should start now. "Now then. Let's get back to our friends, and get this party started!"
The party was now on, and as everyone was having the party dinner, Wave decided that it was time for her big reveal. She tapped her plate, which was the closest thing she had to a wine glass, since no one there was old enough to drink yet. Once everyone was looking at Wave, she got started on telling them what they've been waiting to hear from her. "I'd like to start off by saying that I'm beyond happy we managed to stop Miranda. We may have lost a lot of lives, but they weren't in vain. And we'll continue helping the ones who lost them mourn when we can."
The others continued listening as Wave got to the point of her getting their attention. "Now then. As you all know, I've spent the past three months trying to figure out what I want my new name to be. And it wasn't easy. There were a lot of names I liked. Aloy, Alex, Chloe, Kairi, and Tifa, just to name a few." Wave then looked to Marshall and Margareth, knowing that they especially would love what she decided on. "I finally decided before the battle. And since Sid and Arrby leave tomorrow, I think now is the best time to share it."
Wave breathed in through her nose and out from her mouth, feeling content, and relieved, with the decision she made. "As of yesterday, my name... is Wave, Blaze, Munroe."
Everyone took a liking to that name, and not just because they instantly figured out why Wave chose it. Marshall couldn't help himself when he pointed it out. "Now you have both of our parents names." Wave nodded her head yes, and Marshall placed a paw on her shoulder to show his support. "It's beautiful."
"I'm glad you feel the same way." Wave replied, glad that she was now able to honor both of her parents in this way. She saw Margareth trying not to tear up, and she started to worry she might've started getting sad about Wave Sr. again. "Margareth, what's wrong?"
Margareth hugged Wave before smiling, revealing that these were tears of joy she was keeping in. "I don't know why I struggled to adjust at first." Wave smiled too when she realized this, wrapping her arms around Margareth as she let the tears of joy stream down her face. "Whether boy, or girl... you're still the sweetest pup I'll ever meet." She quickly darted her eyes to Marshall after saying that. "No offense Marshall."
"None taken." Marshall assured Margareth, knowing that it would be almost impossible to beat Wave out in this regard. "I won't lie. It'll be a miracle if, Wave, ever has someone beat her out in that regard." Wave giggled a bit, feeling even better about her name choice thanks to the positive reception it got.
"Come here you spotted candy bar!" Snow also couldn't help running over to Wave and kissing her on the mouth. Among everyone else, she was one of the happiest for her.
Zuma was tuning his guitar to prepare for a song he had ready, and when Rocky noticed, Zuma told him he was waiting for the right moment. "It'll come soon Wocky. For now, this is their time." Rocky understood completely, kissing Zuma's cheek before wrapping his arm around him for cuddles, which Zuma fully embraced.
A few minutes after eating, Skye was looking over the ocean as she looked at her bandana, thinking back to everything that's happened recently. Chase walked up to her and wrapped his arm around her while looking at the bandana with her. She felt even happier upon knowing he was there. And when she looked over to Coral, she felt even more so. She was standing there, happily getting along with Sid and Arrby. The sight of it made Skye feel even more safe in mind. She also thought about what this meant for her fear of losing those she loves.
She continued looking at her bandana as she thought about this, and how it reflected her current feelings. Losing Coral made Skye vow to never let anyone else be taken from her too soon again. She put in a lot of hard work into it. This was especially apparent after Chase was turned into a demon. And even then, she still did all she could to help out her friends; both because she cared for them deeply, and because she was scared of what could happen to them if she didn't.
But now, Skye, feeling at ease with all that's happened lately, reached her right paw out, and let go of her bandana, allowing it to fly off into the currently young sunset. She didn't need it anymore. After what happened in yesterday's battle, she was confident that just like her friends, Coral could take care of herself well enough to live a full life. The fact that they would keep in touch now admittedly helped a little with that. But thanks to what happened with herself, her friends, and Coral, she was finally able to do something she couldn't before.
She was able to let go.
Meanwhile, Charm was enjoying some time with Rocky, Zuma, and Moby, as Rocky and Zuma were cuddling while Charm showed Moby a picture of Sunshine's sword. "Just goes to show that dragons have excellent craftsmanship."
"And he let you see it up close?" Moby asked, still amazed that Charm was able to become friends with a dragon. Or that any of the Paw Patrol were. "Lucky you!"
Charm shrugged before Claw nudged his shoulder upon walking up to him with a request in mind. "May we speak Charm?"
Charm nodded his head yes, looking to Moby and letting him know that he'd be back shortly. "I'll be as quick as I can Moby."
"Take your time." Moby assured Charm, letting him head off with Claw while making sure to be patient.
As Charm and Claw headed over to his car for privacy, Claw let Charm sit down next to him before they got started. It was a little hard for him to walk since his right leg was still wounded from the battle, but the crutches he was given to move without putting pressure on it helped. He was also able to sit down on his car just fine. Once he and Charm were sitting next to each other, he got started on what he wanted to say. "I never got a chance to thank you yesterday."
Charm noticed the tone in Claw's voice and smiled as he scooted a little closer to him. "Hey. You needed help, and I was able to help. Plain and simple."
"I know. I just didn't think it'd ever get to that point." Claw admitted, and Charm allowed him to speak as Claw expressed everything he'd been feeling for the past three months. "When we first started living together, I was angry. I had to live under the same roof as someone I could barely stand sharing breath with."
"Hey; learn to say it, don't spray it." Charm joked, making Claw laugh a bit before he continued.
Charm wasn't offended however, which showed in how he happily let Claw continue. "Then, I saw everything you did to better yourself. And seeing all of your efforts, and how much work went into them, helped me start to realize that maybe, just maybe, everything was okay now." Claw then admitted to something else on his mind from these events. "And then I realized that, without you... I never would've gotten to stay with the friends I have now. And I never would've met Coral. So in a way, you using me before, helped me improve my life."
"In a dark and twisted one you mean." Charm added, knowing that he hit a personal cord with Claw there. And Claw's laugh proved that to indeed be the case.
Still, Claw wasn't done, and the words he said next showed that. "When you saved me yesterday, I saw that, yes. You were still crazy, and you still loved fighting and carnage. There's no denying that. But I also saw, that you found a way to manage it. I believed that you'd accepted your demon blood, and found a way to balance out both sides of you." Claw then looked at Charm when finishing his words. "And now, I can confidently say that... I forgive you. And, I believe you've become a good Canine. And..." Claw smiled with his final two words. "Thank you."
Charm smiled back after Claw finished what he had to say, and both of their tails wagged once he did. The way the two looked at each other made it clear. After all that went down as of late, the two of them had reached a state of peace and closure. From reluctantly teaming up to stop Slash to Charm saving Claw's life in the battle against Miranda, they finally felt that they could truly view each other in a positive light. The two of them truly felt that they could call themselves... friends.
Later on, Wave and the others noticed some of the Mer-Pups who survived the battle coming up to shore. No one really expected this, but Wave being Wave, was more than ready to make them feel as welcome as possible. She quickly grabbed some of the remaining food and went over to the Mer-Pups with it. "A late guest is still a guest! It's not much, but help yourselves!"
The leader of the Mer-Pup unit got a look at the food, and while it looked amazing, he politely turned down the offer. "Thank you my friend. But we're not here for festivities."
Wave rolled over to the main table with the Mer-Pups as she asked about their real reason for coming. "Then why ARE you here? Is there danger in PupLantis besides Miranda we didn't know about?"
"That's not it Wave." Coral assured Wave, and she was shown walking over to them to explain the situation. "They're here to see me."
Wave set the food down as the unit's leader started giving her more context. "After Miranda died, we quickly realized we needed a new Queen. Someone who knows the Mer-Pups well enough to help us build our home into something greater than what it is now, while also being much more accepting to all."
Wave looked to Coral, quickly catching onto what she had to do with this as Coral filled her in. "And since I knew the most about how Miranda operated, the Mer-Pups felt I would be the best pick to rule, since I'd know what to avoid doing the best. That must be why they called me while you and Zuma were in Twin Flame Island."
Wave was ecstatic to hear that, knowing that this must be a huge deal for Coral. "Coral, that's amazing! You could make a big difference as a Queen!"
Coral couldn't help thinking about how she would be as a Queen. Claw came over and snuck a quick kiss on her cheek before reminding her of one crucial detail. "Just don't let the power go to your head if you go."
Coral giggled a bit before assuring Claw that wouldn't be the case. "Don't worry sharp paws. I'm sure the other Mer-Pups will help me keep that in mind."
The unit leader gave Coral a thumbs up to confirm that, and Wave then realized what this meant for Coral. "Oh, right! Sid and Arrby offered to let you stay with them when they leave tomorrow. And you also have that unit in Twin Flame Island."
"I know. It's crazy." Coral admitted, being faced with even more options than she ever had. "I never thought I'd have so many options for where I took my life."
Wave made sure to let Coral know that there was no pressure with her decisions. "It's your call Coral."
"Just how it should be." Coral backed up, and the smile she gave showed that she was content in her decision.
The night was young, and Coral had made her decision with where she wanted to go, with Wave, Marshall, the rest of the Paw Patrol, and everyone else, there to see her off. Skye was at the front, ready to see her off as she held her paws. The Mer-Pups standing behind Coral made it clear what her decision was. "I'm just a call away if you need help. And even if you don't need it, I hope you'll invite us to PupLantis soon."
Skye and Coral shared a hug to show that she wanted nothing less. "There's nothing I'd like more than for all of you to see what I make of it."
Claw also took the time to share one last kiss with Coral after walking up to her. After he did, he checked one final time to see if she was as ready for this as he was. "You sure you can handle long distance?"
"I fought against the woman who 'raised' me for seven years just yesterday." Coral reminded Claw, feeling this would be easy for her. "I can handle this." Claw smiled proudly before letting go of Coral's paws and walking off to let anyone else speak if needed.
Wave rolled up to Coral with Charm, allowing Charm to say what he wanted to say first. "I know a thing or two about ruling a land Coral. If you ever need tips, I can help too."
"Thanks Charm. Just don't suggest anything too violent." Coral requested, and Charm kept that in mind with a nod before patting Coral's shoulder for good luck. Coral then looked to Moby, who smiled at her, and she smiled back, seeing that he was happy for her as well. Sid and Arrby did the same.
Wave then shared some words with Coral as she looked directly at her eyes with a smile. "I think I speak for everyone when I say you'll always be welcome in Adventure Bay. You, and the Mer-Pups." Marshall and Margareth smiled when looking at each other. "You have friends and family ready to help at all times." Snow and Everest hugged as Wave continued. "Don't you ever forget that." Wave held her paw out for a paw shake, showing that while she wasn't ready for hugs yet, she was still happy for Coral. "And only you, can show everyone who you are."
Coral smiled and happily accepted the paw shake, expressing just how much Wave has proven that. "I can't thank you all enough for showing me that." Coral then expressed how amazed she was with who Wave was. "Wave. You helped the Mer-Pups all you could, even with how much they treated you like crap. No matter how much we hurt you... the only one you ever hated for it, was Miranda." Coral couldn't help shedding a tear of joy as she looked at Wave. "You're an angel."
Wave softly laughed a bit, having her own take on what Coral just called her. "Nah." Her friendly smile showed that the humbleness and confidence she showed was as genuine as it came. "I'm just Wave." Coral kept her smile as the two pups looked at each other with happiness in their eyes. Zuma then saw this as a good moment and got ready to start playing his guitar. Coral saw this and decided to stay, and Zuma smiled to her to show that he was happy to hear that.
Everyone stayed around as Zuma then started singing his song: Shining Moon. "On this night, so lovely, the moon shines bwight. It makes me feel so wawm, to know it's watching me." Skye and Coral quickly realized where Zuma got part of his inspiration from, being happy that their Mer-Pup lullaby managed to help him. It was then that he started playing his guitar. "And although, it cannot, make miwacles come. I think it wants to see, I'm in good company."
Wave smiled to Coral as she rolled off, and then smiled to her friends, who all smiled back as Zuma continued. "And when I see that shine, and I notice my smile. I stawt to shawe, what I was glad to wecall." Rocky wrapped his arm around Zuma as he continued with his song. "So let me say, undew this shining moon. It makes me happy, to be with, you all."
Wave then looked up to the moon, where she saw the faces of Wave Sr. and Blaze shining down on her. "On this night, that's so calm, the moon shines bwight. It weminds me that my stwuggles, awen't stopping me." Wave's smile showed joy, closure, and confidence all in one. Even though she was in a wheelchair for the time being, she was still at peace after having stopped Miranda. "Even though, the twagedies, I face make me cwy. I always wemember that, I'm in good company."
Wave rolled back over to the others, going in between Marshall and Snow once she got back over to them. "The choices I made, have shown a lot. Like how some wise, when I will not." Wave held Marshall and Snow's paws with Snow sharing a kiss with her as they continued listening to Zuma. "They gently wise, and softly call. It made me happy, to be with, you all."
Zuma continued playing his song with Skye and Coral hugging one last time, along with Charm and Moby fist bumping while smiling at each other. "So let me say, undew this shining moon. And embwace life as we stand tall." Claw and Sweetie also smiled to each other with Claw wrapping his arm around her. Sid also pet Arrby again, and Marshall and Everest kissed, along with Chase letting Ryder pet him, as Richie also smiled and fist bumped Ryder. "And embwace your joy, as you hear the call. It makes me happy, to be with, you all."
Zuma played the last part of song as Wave, Charm, Skye, and Coral were all shown one by one with whole new perspectives having been given to them. Wave with a more seasoned way of thinking, Charm with a balance of normal and chaotic, Skye with finally being able to let go, and Coral with being able to decide for herself. "So let me say, undew this shining moon. As we gather after the sun falls. And feel your smile, as you hear the call. It makes me happy, to be with, you all."
Zuma finished playing his guitar in the same melody as the remaining lyrics of his song. "It makes me happy, to be with... you all."
And with that final strum, everyone was smiling and in the perfect mood for the end of the party. It was then that Coral let go of Skye and told her goodbye for now. "I have to go Skye. I have a Kingdom to rule now."
"Remember that I'll always be there for you. I'll always be your Magic Mer-moon." Skye reminded Coral, smiling as she started shedding a tear of joy. "Because I love you."
Coral smiled back and started crying happy tears herself, deciding to hug Skye one last time before walking into the water. After she did, she looked back in joy at all of her friends seeing her off. Even though she was always allowed to come back, it still made her sad to bid them farewell for now. To think that she went from being a pawn Miranda was using for petty revenge... to a beloved Queen of the Mer-Pups.
Wave's smile continued as she started voicing over the scene to end the era off once and for all. "Everyone has to deal with change in their lives at some point. And sometimes, it's scary. Both in discovering it, and in choosing how to handle it." Wave then started heading back with everyone, leaving Marshall to push Wave and help her roll out of the sand more easily. "But it's a big part in what helps us grow. And you may even get closer to finding yourself at the end of it all."
The next day, Wave was setting Princess Chocolate down after hugging her one last time before letting Marshall help her down the ladder. He then placed her in her wheelchair and started rolling her off. "Thanks Marshall."
Marshall rubbed Wave's head as she continued to voice over the scene. "There will always be parts about ourselves we don't notice until we're older. Sometimes, we won't even notice them until adulthood. I don't think that's a bad thing either." Wave entered the kitchen with everyone else helping set up everything for breakfast. "We all learn who we are at our own pace." Charm noticed Wave and smiled to her while waving, and she smiled and waved back. "Some of us even need help."
Marshall pushed Wave over to where she would be sitting, letting her adjust the wheelchair height on her own. "I'll admit that not all change is good change. And no one is going to make the right choices every time." Wave looked over to Skye as she and Chase were talking, and she was showing her the first photo of Coral running her new Kingdom. It showed her building a part of their welcome sign that said 'Change friendly environment!'. "But that's a part of growing as an individual. And the part where you find yourself at the end of it all, is amazing."
Wave capped off her voice over as she watched Marshall and Snow walk over to everyone with their breakfast. "One act of kindness, shows who you can be."
Marshall ended up tripping and plates he was holding flew into the air. "Whoa!" Thankfully, Wave, Chase, and Skye were prepared, with Wave catching hers, Chase catching one, and Skye front flipping onto the table and catching the rest. Charm also caught one and set it down while playfully winking to Rocky, who rolled his eyes while smiling.
And with that, Snow helped Marshall up with Wave finishing her voice over. "But consistent kindness..." Wave smiled as she saw Marshall and Snow smiling to each other. "shows who you are."
Marshall giggled a bit before apologizing for his wipeout. "Sorry pups. I should've known I was gonna eggcidentally trip."
Wave couldn't help snickering at the pun before the rest of the group called him out for it. "Marshall!" The rest of the pups laughed along with the clumsy pup himself with an illustration of all of them getting ready to start eating their breakfast ending the era off.
Next time, a new beginning.
"Yep. Learning my true identity definitely made me happy."
