Chapter 36: Ghost Host:
This Chapter takes place during the Oikawa Arc
Sakuya Yamamoto was living in her video tape, but when some poor child was playing it...
"Awe man," says the kid, "the tape got ruined!"
Sakuya then comes out. "Yeah, thanks alot! Now I'm going to have to find a new place to live." Sakuya then leaves.
"So... what am I going to do," asks the kid.
...
At TK's house, Patamon was flying through the halls when Sakuya comes and scares him.
"Sakuya Yamamoto," says Patamon, "what are you doing here?"
"I'm stuck here because my tape got ruined. Until it gets fixed, I'm going to haunt you!" Sakuya laughs maniacally, and ghostly snake "tongues" come out with evil grins.
Patamon runs out.
...
Patamon goes to Davis' house.
"Veemon!"
Veemon answers. "Huhh?"
"Veemon, there's a ghost in TK's house!"
"Patamon, buddy, look, there's no such thing as ghosts," says Veemon.
"But we've met Sakuya plenty of times," says Patamon, "and we've seen Wizardmon's ghost."
"Trust me. There's no such thing. Later." Veemon closes the door.
...
Patamon goes to Cody's house. "Armodillomon, you gotta help me, Sakuya..." Armodillomon closes the door. "...Yamamoto."
...
Patamon returns to TK's house and sees Sakuya eating TK.
"TK!"
"What's up, Patamon," asks TK.
"TK?"
"I wasn't really going to eat him," says Sakuya, "humans give me gas. Now, don't get too comfortable!"
...
Sakuya then does different ways to scare Patamon, but as it goes on, Patamon gets less scared.
"Is this gonna take any longer," asks Patamon.
"Why aren't you freaking out," asks Sakuya.
"Well, you've been here a while, and uhh, I've seen all your tricks."
"What are you trying to say?"
"EEEhhh."
"I know when I'm washed up. I've been doing the same material for years! Scaring is a young woman's game. It's time to give up the ghost; no pun intended."
"Oh, no, no. I meant that I'm just used to it, that's all."
"Don't lie to me."
"You just gotta scare someone other than me."
...
Mummymon is sleeping and Sakuya comes, trying to scare him. Nothing. He's still just sleeping there. Sakuya tries again and nothing. Sakuya then leaves.
Arukenimon shows up. "Time to wake up."
Mummymon then screams.
...
Yolei's on a computer. Sakuya tries to scare her, but she doesn't even notice.
...
"It's official," says Sakuya, "I'm just not scary anymore."
"Just what kind of talk is that," asks Patamon, "you're just off your game, that's all."
"Maybe I just need a break. Take some time off, you know?"
"Sure, relax a little."
"I'll just stay here 'til I'm back on my feet."
...
It's been six months.
Patamon enters and sees Sakuya's throwing a party. There are ghosts from Bleach, Shaman King, and other ghost themed anime.
Sakuya's with a living man. "Who'd guess we'd have so much in common, Byron? You like monster trucks, I like monster trucks. You like wrestling, I like wrestling."
"You know I'm a married man, right?"
"Well, your wife's not here, is she?"
"What is going on around here," asks Patamon.
"Come on, Patamon, don't be a stick in the mud," says Sakuya.
A ghost shows up, wearing TK's clothes. Another shows up, wearing TK's Mom's clothes.
"That's it, everybody out," says Patamon. All the ghosts... and Byron... then leave. "Sakuya, do you want to spend Eternity on this couch?"
"Well, it is comfy."
"Look in the mirror. You're a ghost of your former self!"
"You're right, Patamon. I'm pathetic."
"Yes, you are. But we're going to raise you up from your squalled conditions through the use of visual aids. Watch now." Patamon puts in a tape.
"Who lives in this tape?"
"This is a journey of self-awareness," says Patamon.
It's a video of two guys talking about "the power within".
"That was beautiful," says Sakuya.
"Now get off that couch and change back into your usual clothes. It's time to get scary!"
...
Patamon and Sakuya are at an alley.
"Let's start you off with something easy," says Patamon, "think you can scare that old lady?"
"No problemo, compadre."
Sakuya tries to scare the old lady.
"Megean, is that you?"
"What? No! I'm Sakuya Yamamoto!"
"Megean, you should really try some toothpaste."
...
Patamon and Sakuya Yamamoto go to a gym.
BlackWarGreymon's there. Sakuya tries to scare him. BlackWarGreymon just leaves.
...
Sakuya's depressed.
"It's no use, Patamon," says Sakuya, "I can't seem to scare anyone. Maybe people just don't believe in ghosts anymore."
"Wait a minute! I think you just gave me the answer to all your problems!" Patamon then whispers in Sakuya's ear.
...
Veemon gets ready for bed, but then something follows him. He turns around and sees nothing.
"Must've been my imagination," says Veemon.
A shadow then comes and picks Veemon up and throws him to the ground. Then a face appears on the floor.
"I'm a face!"
Veemon runs and the walls start laughing at him.
"What the heck is going on here," asks Veemon.
"I heard you don't believe in ghosts!"
"Ghosts?"
"As in Sakuya Yamamoto!"
"There's no such thing as ghosts. No such thing."
"No such thing as ghosts? No such thing as ghosts?! You don't believe in ghosts?!
The floor turns into liquid. Another ghost pops up and eats Veemon sending him into a light that spits him back into his house. A giant Patamon is sitting there breathing in and out really hard.
"Patamon?"
Patamon's eyes twist around his head and spiders crawl out and reveal Sakuya. Sakuya does a trick to think that she is pulling her finger off.
"Ooh, scary."
"No! No! That's impossible!" Veemon runs out. "Ghosts! Ghosts!"
Patamon flies to Sakuya. "You did it! You got your scare back!"
"And my confidence too. Now I feel like I can scare the living crud out of anyone. And it's all thanks to you."
"And maybe you can get your tape fixed."
"Actually, Patamon, I have a confession. My tape's been fixed for three months now. Well, it was nice rooming with you!" Sakuya returns to her tape. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot! I left you a little something for all your trouble. Now, it's time for me to ruin more souls."
The tape leaves. Patamon opens the package. A hand grabs him and pulls him in. A chomp and then a burp is heard. Patamon laughs. "It's good to have Sakuya back."
