The sound of rain made him look up and Kazuma couldn't help but smile at it, for whatever reason whenever it rained Aqua danced outside, she claimed that it was because the rain connected her to heaven, but he didn't believe it.
This world was affecting them and the change was something that neither of them understood.
Aqua was acting more and more like a Goddes, but she didn't act like she did when he first met her, no she was acting more distant and there were times that she would lose the joy that he had gotten so used to seeing in her.
To think that there would be a a day that she didn't smile for some reason, that thought alone hurt him, but what hurt him even more was that he didn't know how to help her.
No that wasn't true, he knows exactly what to do, but he can't bring himself to do it.
The rocks that she piled up the ones that are holding up her Fake Heaven, she used a lot of her power to build them so if he destroyed them then there was a chance that she would go back to being who she was.
Then he just had to destroy the well, but she would probably never forgive him if he did that. So he can only wait and let her finish what she's doing and help her with everything else until she is done.
He doesn't say anything when she walks past him and steps outside, he looks at her as she opens her fans and begins to dance, the rain moves with her.
It's only the water that moves as the wind still blows like it usually does, but neither of them cares about it.
It isn't long before several ghosts join her, and before long the raindrops join and turn into a stream of water that spins round him before pulling him outside and forcing him to stand next to her.
The two of them look at one another and laugh before she stops dancing, this is one of the few times that they can forget about everything and enjoy themselves.
She hugs him and he hugs her back, they ignore the cold rain and let it fall on them, he can feel her hot tears on his chest, so they stay outside and don't say anything until she is done crying.
They were just about to go back inside when his enemy detection skill flared alongside his dodge and escape skill. His body moved on its own as several daggers made of water flew past him.
He glares in the direction where the attack came from but he doesn't move, not because he can't but because the ghosts and the trees are attacking whoever or whatever attacked them.
"Kazuma."
yeah"
"I want a garden just like the one we had back home."
"I don't think we can, I mean fish don't grow out of the ground in this world and I mean we don't have." he stopped talking when she tightened her grip.
"I'll start digging tomorrow, but you have to plant them." he says to her, his grip lightens and they hold each other.
They know that these moments won't last, this is Out World a place where happiness doesn't exist and where power rules everything.
It's night now and Aqua is asleep, even the ghosts are off doing whatever they do at night.
He remembers fighting the adventures in Axel before he was ready to chase after Aqua and fight the Demon King.
He remembers all of the skills that they taught him, even the useless ones that he had no hope of ever using because his body didn't have the power to handle them.
he summoned pillars of ice, rivers of fire, made giant golems, and used tree branches to pierce through several trees.
He teleported from one end of the forest to the other before teleporting back.
His body moved as it remembered the pain of dying over and over again.
before he knew it he was gasping for air surrounded by blue and green ghosts who looked at him with cold judging eyes.
"Let's start from the beginning." one of them says to him before he picks up a rock and tells him to dodge it.
His body moves on its own and despite how exhausted he is he is able to avoid it, but before he can land another rock flies his way, his body twists and he barely avoids it before he feels the pain of another rock hitting his back.
"You need to be faster." the man says to him before a woman who didn't wear anything except small pieces of cloth that covered everything important stepped forward
She held a stick that she picked up from the ground and threw it at him. "Fight me." she orders him, but he's too tired, so ignores her and starts to go home.
Again his body flares but this time it screams in pain because he's moved too much, so he isn't able to dodge the woman's attack.
Even if he can't move like he usually does he isn't out of options, so he freezes the woman in place and starts to walk away, but several women who aren't wearing anything surround him.
Now he recognizes them, they are a part of the group that doesn't want any man near Aqua, they glare at him and he glares back.
Normally he would have just teleported into the house, but he does like the way that they look at him, so with a cold voice he says "Drain Touch."
they scream in pain as the energy that holds them together leaves them, but he doesn't erase them he leaves them on the ground and ignores their insults.
The mist that covers the forest will give them back their strength, so they have nothing to worry about.
He reaches the door an American soldier standing next to the door. "That was the first attack, what are you going to do?' the soldier asks him.
Right now get some sleep, I'll figure out the rest in the morning." he answers the soldier who nods and vanishes.
