Norman had somehow survived the fall but landed on the wreckage where they had trapped Sin-Eater.
"Parker, you really chose a perfect time to grow a backbone," Norman scowled.
Sin-Eater finally emerged from the concrete and was now back to normal. "You got no one to blame but yourself, Osborn; you were the one that kept pushing."
"Carter, the self-proclaimed crusader," Norman glared. "You come to cleanse me now? I find it funny that you think that you can judge people considering the number of people you've killed."
"I have paid for my sins; you have not," said Sin-Eater. "Look at all the lives you have ruined and for what a childish grudge upon Spider-Man. I am merely here to blemish from your soul; you should be thanking me."
"Don't kid yourself; I know your true master, the one that brought you back to life in the view of the powers to stop this crusade," said Norman. "You are nothing more than the puppet of Kindred, and once you outlive your usefulness, he'll cash you aside."
Sin-Eater then shot him. "You have now been cleanse."
"And not before time," said a voice in his ear.
Sin-Eater looked around and felt something crawling across his face. It was a centipede, and somehow, it was used as a communication device with Kindred.
"I have cleansed Osborn of his sins just as you asked," said Sin-Eater.
"Yes, you have been the most useful pawn," said Kindred.
"A pawn?" Sin-Eater frowned.
"Osborn was right; you have served your purpose, and I do not need you anymore. To be brutally honest, I was disgusted that I had to work with you, considering your hypocrisy."
"My what?"
"You condemn others and eat their sense, but you are full of sin."
"And I have paid for them all."
"Not quite all," said Kindred. "Your old partner was in some shady business, and then you killed his business partners in cold blood because you believe that they killed him. In truth, it was you that killed him; you just couldn't accept it."
"No, that can't be," said Sin-Eater shocked.
"I'm afraid it is, and it is now time for me to collect."
Sin-Eater began to roar in pain as it felt as if his entire body was about to split apart, and that was precisely what was happening. The sins he had absorbed were now devouring him until nothing was left.
"Now for the next stage of the plan," said Kindred. "I hope you're quite ready for this, Peter; you're about to get a taste of what Hell truly is."
Peter, meanwhile, was still on the ship as everyone was still going over what had just happened.
"Did I do the right thing, Gwen?" Peter asked.
Gwen looked at him sympathetically. "Look, Peter, after everything Osborn did to you, I don't think anyone can blame you for what happened, but there is a time and a place for that sort of thing."
"I'm still trying to wrap my head around what is going on?" said Flash. "How is Sin-Eater alive, and how did you get all those powers?"
"When I was with Carlie, I could not find any trace of the bullet that struck Overdrive," said Teresa. "In fact, it almost looked as if the shop never happened. There was no entry in his body."
"This sounds like something Doctor Strange should be consulted on," said Jess.
"Uh, that might have to be put on hold," said Miles as he looked out the window. "Something is heading this way?"
Sure enough, something big, red and nasty was speeding towards them, but they had no idea what.
"Damn, he's right yourselves!" Jess yelled.
"It is no use," said Madam Web as she sat there as if accepting the end. "Peter, whatever happens, you must not lose yourself."
"What do you mean by that?" Peter asked.
Before she could explain, whatever was chasing them struck the ship. It hit the ship so hard that Peter fell unconscious. When he woke up, the partnership crashed and landed somewhere.
"Guys, are you all right?" Peter asked as he looked around, but there was no sign of them.
It turned out that they were alive, but they weren't exactly themselves. Every single one of them now had been mutated into demonic creatures, and they attacked him. Peter could not calm his friends; he was still reeling from tossing Norman outside the ship.
As he fought, he discovered that someone was speaking through them, but he had no idea who. However, whoever it was seen to know him very well. Peter finally managed to escape the ship, but they continued pursuing him relentlessly, and Anya injected him with some spider venom and not to kill an elephant.
For some reason, the possessed heroes decided to leave him, not that he was complaining. He had to swing through the city, crashing into trash cans and other stuff as he made his way to the Sanctum Santorum.
He had enough strength to knock on the door and wait for Stephen to open the door before he collapsed in his arms. When he came to, he was still a little groggy but very much alive.
"I'm glad to see that you survived," said Stephen. "Though I would be curious to know what caused this?"
"I don't know where to start," Peter winced.
"Why not at the beginning?"
Peter then began to explain everything that had happened.
"I can confirm this is some demonic entity," said Stephen.
"We kind of figured that with all the weird stuff Sin-Eater did," said Peter. "What I don't understand is why are they targeting me?"
"Tell me, have you made any kind of deal with a demon?" Stephen asked curiously.
"Not recently, at least not in this timeline," said Peter.
"Yes, the alternate timeline, the one that no longer exists," said Stephen.
"But it did exist; we encountered an alternate version of me that was still possessed by Octavius," said Peter.
"Yes, I am aware, but I understand that he was stabbed with a magical dagger that eroded him from history?"
"Yeah, and it prevented me from ever getting powers."
"Yes, but it still exists," said Stephen as he contemplated. "I know this is not my field of expertise, but according to your paper, alternate timelines still exist in some shape or form. You made a deal with a demon in one particular timeline."
"Yeah, but Gwen went back in time to prevent that."
"However, she did not stop the demon in question from interfering with your life indirectly. It is possible that the demon is still whispering in your ear and now wishes to break your spirit."
"You're quite right about that, Doctor!" said a voice.
Then suddenly, smashing through the window, was Cindy. Peter was still feeling a little groggy to offer any assistance, but thankfully, Stephen was able to capture.
"Cindy Moon, I do not know if you can hear me; rest assured, I will remove this demon from your body," Stephen assured her.
"Oh, I'm afraid you will find that a little hard to do," said Cindy, though it wasn't her voice.
"Just who are you?" Peter asked.
"Oh, you know me quite well, Peter, but for now, you can call me Kindred," said Cindy.
Peter suddenly felt like something was grasping his heart, but he didn't know why. Hearing the name sent an icy shiver down his spine.
"Peter, are you all right?" Stephen asked.
"I don't know," he said honestly. "But I know all this is my fault."
"What do you mean?"
"I just somehow lost it and tossed Norman Osborn out of the ship, and then this happened," Peter explained.
"Sin-Eater was a useful pawn; you never even realised that he was absorbing all those sins just for me," said Cindy. "However, the cherry on top was Norman Osborn. Using his sins, I was able to give your friends a little makeover."
Stephen looked at Cindy. "You didn't just send Miss Moon over to attack us, did you?"
"If I wanted to attack, I would have done it in full force; no, I nearly sent her to room Peter's spirit," said Cindy.
Then, suddenly, there was a massive flash, and Cindy disappeared.
"We are certainly dealing with a powerful entity," said Stephen.
"And it's my fault, and I have to fix it," said Peter.
"Not alone," said Stephen. "I'm afraid demon possession forms more in my job description than yours."
Stephen agreed to allow Peter to use the Hand of Vashanti, which Peter had once used to fight against the mysterious villain Shade. However, when they tried, it didn't work. Stephen suspected that it was the demon at work.
Stephen informed him that he would deal with the possessed spiders and advised him to stay out of this battle. However, Peter refused to stay on the sidelines; before he made his way to Stephen, he stopped by Felicia's and sought her assistance.
"One Hand of Vashanti as ordered," said Felicia as they met on a rooftop.
"I hope it wasn't too much trouble," said Peter, taking the hand.
"It's not the first time I pilfered from that place," Felicia smiled. "Though it is the first time I've done it while pregnant."
Felicia's pregnancy was slowly starting to show, and Peter felt guilty asking her for assistance considering her condition.
"So I had to drag you into this," said Peter.
"Hey, my husband is on the line, too," Felicia pointed out.
"You also managed to get the recording?"
Felicia then held out a recorder. "I do need to ask."
The recording recorded the chance that Stephen had used to operate the hand, which Peter now used. However, the results weren't exactly desirable, as the entire spatial plate was in tatters; you also got a brief image of MJ being swallowed by centipedes.
He eventually awoke in the middle of a grave he was forced to dig out. He began to explore the graveyard and made his way to the crypt, where he found Kindred, who had to be the most disturbing individual he had ever seen.
However, it wasn't seeing Kindred that made him sick; he was sitting at the head of the table with several corpses. Unfortunately, these corpses were very familiar to Peter; they comprised Peter's parents, Uncle Ben, George Stacey, Ned Leeds, Jean Dewollf, and Marla Jameson.
Felicia was currently at her apartment working through the news, which showed the possessed Spiders going on a rampage throughout the city. Fortunately, people believed that they were just impostors and not the real Spiders, but the absence of the Web Warriors was starting to become a bit of a concern.
Felicia also had to call May Parker to keep her updated while she babysat the children.
"This is so horrible," said Aunt May over the phone.
"I know, but Peter is doing everything he can to help them," Felicia assured her.
"Are you all right? Your husband is in the middle of this?" she asked.
"I'm sure things sort themselves out, but maybe you shouldn't put the TV on while the girls are there," Felicia suggested.
"I don't intend to, but they are concerned about their father. Plus, Mary Jane is supposed to come back to New York today."
"I'm sure everything will be back to normal before you know it," Felicia assured her.
"You take care of yourself, dear."
Felicia then sat back on the couch, but then she received a sudden, though not unexpected, visit from Doctor Strange.
"I believe you have something of mine, Miss Thompson," he said, not looking amused.
Felicia pulled out the hand and tossed it to him. "Here, maybe next time you should put better security around your stuff."
"I'll consider it, but next time, do not enter my abode without—" He stopped, looked at the hand and sighed. "This is a fake."
"It's amazing we can do with 3-D printers these days," Felicia smiled innocently.
"Spider-Man's life is in danger. This is no time for foolish games," said Stephen.
"You don't have to remind me; my husband is one of the possessed Spiders," Felicia glared. "And I'm going to help whether you like it or not."
"In your condition?" he said, looking at her stomach.
"I can still move around," she said.
"There's no time in arguing, so come along," said Stephen.
Peter, meanwhile, was at the crypt battling against Kindred.
During the battle, Pete began to realise that he killed Mendel Storm and Mysterio, as well as reviving Sin-Eater, but he couldn't understand for what end. He talked as if he knew him personally, and it sounded as if he had a massive grudge, which did narrow it down, admittedly. However, few people knew his secret identity, and very few of them were actually supervillains.
Obviously, he had a sick mind if he was unearthing the remains of his loved ones and placing them as if they were having a meal among friends. Peter used this range to get the upper hand, but when he managed to land a blow, it just went straight through his chest, as if the guy was made of bugs.
"How about we do this in another setting," said Kindred as he wrapped his centipede tendrils around him.
Peter found himself unable to move and completely at Kindred's mercy. He began pummelling him. Once he had his fill, he transported him to the Brooklyn Bridge, where he could see the spider heroes causing mass havoc.
"Just in time to watch the show," Kindred laughed.
"They have not been to do with this," said Peter.
"Wrong; they are associated with you, so they do have something to do with it," said Kindred. "It's funny they dedicated their lives to save the people of this city, and now they're putting them and each other in danger."
Kindred then forced him to look at the top of the bridge, and to his horror, he saw Gwen lifting Miles over the edge.
"Don't do it," Peter pleaded.
"And why shouldn't I?" Kindred asked.
"If you release them, you can have me," said Peter.
"We have a deal," said Kindred.
Then, as he agreed, he released his influence over the spider heroes and snapped Peter's neck.
The Web Warriors regained consciousness but did not know what had just happened. All they knew was that they had somehow appeared at Brooklyn Bridge, and everyone was terrified of them.
To make matters worse, the bridge was about to fall apart, and despite their best efforts, no one wanted to be rescued by them. Fortunately, Stephen arrived in time and used his magic to stop the bridge from collapsing.
"Okay, I know technically we've done nothing wrong, but I have this feeling that…" said Miles.
"…It's all fault," Gwen finished.
"Exactly," Miles nodded.
"You think that we are responsible for this," said Teresa, pointing at the bridge.
"Technically, you're lying, yet technically you're not," said Felicia as she arrived.
"Babe, you shouldn't be here," said Flash.
"That's exactly what I told her," said Stephen as he appeared before them in his astral projection form.
"Wait, what are you doing here when you're there?" Cindy asked, pointing at Stephen's body, which was still fixing the bridge.
"I'm multitasking," he said.
"That's creepy," said Cindy.
"You can see how he lives up to his name," said Anya.
"So what did happen?" Ben asked.
"To put it bluntly, you were possessed by a very powerful demon," said Stephen.
"And you manage to exorcise this demon out of us?" Jess asked.
"No, I had every intention, but Spider-Man decided to handle it himself rather than trusting my expertise on this matter," said Stephen.
"And now he's in danger," said Madam Web.
"So instead of standing here twiddling, our thumbs have become a way to save him," said Felicia.
"Which we can do at the Sanctum Santorum," said Stephen.
Once the bridge was safely secured, Stephen teleported them all to the Sanctum Santorum.
"So, how are we going to help Peter?" Teresa asked.
"I think most of the problem is centred around the alternate timeline from which Miss Stacy here originated," said Stephen.
"But how is something from an alternate timeline affecting us now?" Gwen asked.
"A demon's contract is hard to break; even going back in time and changing decisions is not enough to change things," said Stephen.
"That's how was I able to do it?" Gwen asked.
"Because you had originally died in that timeline before any altercation ever appeared," said Stephen. "By all accounts, Peter's deal with the demon occurred well after your death. Therefore, reviving and sending you back in time was enough to set that alternate timeline and bring it back to the original one. However, the contract remains, and whoever wrote that contract will continue to interfere in Peter's life."
"But Peter's life has been rather cosy over the past few years?" said Ben.
"And that is mostly thanks to Miss Stacy, which is no doubt why this entity tried to remove her from the equation," said Stephen.
"So what do we do?" Flash asked.
"First off, we need to know more about what is transpiring and to do that, we must enter the astral plane," said Madam Web.
"That could work," said Stephen.
"I'm glad because it was your plan just a few minutes from now," said Madam Web. "I merely put it out there because we are on the clock."
Stephen rolled his eyes. "I hate clairvoyance and prophets, but Miss Carpenter, you are indeed tiresome."
"You have no idea," said Anya.
"Fortunately, we have the Hand of Vashanti," said Stephen. "And I suspect we will have an easier time into the astral plane than Peter, but we will need someone to stand guard over our bodies while we make the trip, and I am volunteering you, Miss Thompson."
"What?" said Felicia.
"It's imperative that someone got our bodies and make sure that the Hand of Vahanti isn't disturbed. And speaking as a doctor, you really should be sitting on the sidelines given your condition."
"Not this again," Felicia grumbled.
"Babe, listen, I'm with the Doc," said Flash. "You've already helped us enough already. You need some rest."
Felicia sighed. "Fine."
"Then let us proceed," said Stephen.
He then began to chant, and once he was done, their bodies fell to the ground, and they slumped. Felicia was now alone in the Sanctum Santorum, which was filled with the creepiest item she had ever seen.
MJ opened her eyes and found herself in unfamiliar surroundings. The last thing she remembered was returning to New York for some personal time, but chaos ensued as she drove over the Brooklyn Bridge.
She remembered the cab crashing; the driver was unconscious, and she had a concussion. Then, before passing out, she saw what he had to assume to be some sort of hallucination as she saw Norman Osborn trying to rescue her.
"Ah, you're awake," said a voice.
MJ's blood turned to eyes as she recognised that voice; she spun around and saw none other than Norman Osborn standing there. Without hesitation, she jumped to her feet and fired some webbing at him, sticking him to the wall.
"Norman Osborn, I heard that he became the director of Ravencorft, but I knew you keeping your vendetta against Peter," she glared.
"It's not like that. Mary Jane, in fact, here to help," he said.
"Help?" MJ spat. "When you ever help anyone but yourself?"
"Look, I know this is hard to believe, but I've been cleansed of my sins by Sin-Eater," he said.
"Like I'm going to fall for that," she said.
"It's true," said a new voice.
MJ turned and saw Dr Kafka, or rather a clone, who had survived the New U Technologies incident.
"I can testify that Norman is being sincere," she said.
"Seriously?" MJ stared.
"Mary Jane, I don't expect you to trust me, but I need your help dealing with Kindred," said Norman.
A shiver went down her spine upon hearing that name, but she had no idea why.
"You've sensed his presence as well," Norman noted. "He seems fixated on Peter, determined to break his spirit, and it seems as if he's been stalking you. However, it is Kindred who needs to be rescued."
"And why is that?" MJ asked.
"Because Kindred as Harry," said Norman.
MJ stared at him. "No, that can't be possible. Harry would never do such a thing."
"And when was the last time you spoke with Harry?"
MJ had to admit that Harry had not made contact since he decided to take a leave of absence after dealing with the Red Goblin affair.
"Mary Jane, like it or not, we need each other if we want to save your husband and my son," said Norman.
Meanwhile, the Web Warriors were now in Peter's astral plane, trying to find Peter. They were walking through a twisted version of New York City, which looked as if it had been hit by a bomb.
"So this is Peter's astral plane?" said Flash.
"It looks like a bomb hit this place," said Miles.
"And Peter is somewhere around here?" Teresa asked.
"No, but he did pass through. We need to find a portal that will lead us to him," said Stephen.
"Then let's split up; we can cover more ground that way," said Gwen.
Gwen and Ben ended up being with Madam Web.
"You blame yourself, don't you?" said Madam Web, looking at Gwen.
"You mean about what Peter did?" Gwen asked.
"One does not need to be a clairvoyant to know what you're thinking," said Madam Web. "You shouldn't really blame yourself."
"If I hadn't been there, Norman wouldn't have goaded Peter, and we would be in this mess," said Gwen.
"And if you hadn't shown up, Flash and me would be dead, Teresa would be somewhere across the planet, and Peter and MJ wouldn't be married or have kids," Ben pointed out.
"Peter constantly feels guilty about the people that he failed to say, and it is that guilt that makes him do better," said Madam Web. "It is that pure determination to save those which strengthens him. And milling over our past choices does us no good; we need to focus on the here and now."
They then had to dodge a bullet as a demon tried to take a shot. Gwen instantly recognised him as the same sniper the kingpin hired to shoot Peter just after the Civil War. They were the only ones encountering demons as a demonic version of the kingpin resembling a kaiju began to tear up the place, and they were swarmed by demonic versions of Aunt May and Little May.
"Okay, Peter's nightmares are messed up," said Miles after they survived the encounter.
"Must mean we're getting close. You wouldn't send soldiers if you want close to the entrance," said Flash.
"Indeed, and I believe I have found," said Stephen.
Sure enough, they found the portal that they needed.
"So we go through this thing, and it will take us to Peter?" said Anya.
"Yes, it will," said a voice.
They turned and saw MJ stepping out of the shadows, but Stephen did not let down his guard.
"You cannot fool me, demon; I know that you're not your supposed to be," he said.
Sure enough, MJ then started to transform into a giant demonic demon.
"And I thought fighting demon versions of Peter's aunt and daughter was disturbing enough, but now we have to fight his demon wife?" Miles stared.
"No, this is my fight," said Stephen as he hovered into the air. "Yours is on the other side of that portal."
"You sure?" Ben asked.
"Go!"
They all nodded, jumped through the portal, and discovered they had landed in a graveyard.
"A graveyard, that's not creepy at all," said Miles.
"Kid, after what we've been through, nothing creeps me out," said Flash.
However, everyone was unaware that Sin-Eater was hiding behind a tombstone.
Meanwhile, Harry was pretty much torturing Peter, killing him only to bring him back. Peter did try to fight back, but Harry was just too strong. He still couldn't understand where all this anger was coming from.
"Harry, why are you doing this?" Peter groaned.
"Because deep down inside, I've always been furious with you, Pete," said Harry. "I want to show you that dying is easy, but the punishment in Hell is suffering your personal sins. I didn't want to hurt your friends, but when you prevented Sin-Eater from cleansing my father, that all changed.
"Your biggest problem is that you've always been so self-righteous that you never think you're wrong, which has always been your fatal flaw. In your hubris, you think you know what's right for everybody, but that is what causes all those close to you to suffer. And you know what's worse? Instead of admitting your mistakes, you bury them or try to ignore them like what you did to my father just a few hours ago."
"Harry, that isn't you talking; it's this demon controlling you," Peter winced.
"Oh, I'm afraid it's here all right, Pete, but I think you should be a bit more worried about them," said Harry, forcing him to look at a mirror.
The mirror showed Peter that the Web Warriors had gathered outside, but Sin-Eater was waiting for them.
"You know, I'm a bit impressed that he managed to survive after I doublecrossed him, and even then, he was so devoted to his cause," Harry smirked. "Oh, but it looks like we have another guest."
Peter's eyes widened as the image changed into his, and he saw that MJ was making her way into the graveyard.
"No," he said.
Out in the cemetery, the Web Warriors were then attacked by Sin-Eater, who apparently was trying to collect the sins that he had absorbed from them. They tried to point out that they were no longer demon-possessed, but he didn't seem inclined to listen to them.
They did outnumber him, but apparently, he had powered himself up, no doubt cleansing a few other supervillains.
"We're not going to win like this," said Teresa.
"Seriously, it's just one guy," said Flash.
"One guy with demonic powers, not something we come across every day," said Anya.
"If anyone has any ideas, I'm open," said Ben.
"I may have one," said Madam Web as she stepped out in the open.
"Julia, what do you think you're doing?" Jess yelled.
"Giving him what he wants," she said.
Sin-Eater shot, but he received some of her powers the moment he did, allowing him to receive glimpses of the future. Within those glimpses, he saw that Kindred, his benefactor, was Harry Osborn.
"No, it can't be all this time I have been working for someone born of sin," he said, looking distraught.
He grabbed his gun and then shot himself; the moment he did, he disappeared in a flash of light.
"Well, that happened," said Miles.
"You mean all we have to do is let him shoot you?" said Gwen, looking at Madam Web. "You're lucky that he doesn't seem to be capable of killing anyone."
"To be honest, I wasn't entirely certain it would work," she said as she sat up.
"Never mind that we need to find Pete," said Flash.
However, they suddenly gave way before they could do anything to ground. They found themselves wrapped up in centipedes and knocked out.
Soon, every single one of them found themselves tied up around the dinner table, with Harry walking around each and every one.
"You were always such a loner, and now you have a vast team that follows you anywhere, even to Hell, it would seem," said Harry. "You used to be the one and single Spider-Man, but slowly but surely, you began inspiring others to wear the symbol. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that the orphan wished to make his own family."
"Leave them out of this Harry is between you and me," said Peter.
"I baked to differ old friend, but we're still waiting for one more guest," said Harry.
The crypt doors then opened, and MJ stepped in.
"And here she is now," Harry smiled.
"MJ, get out of here!" Pete yelled.
"I'm not leaving you, Tiger or any of our friends," said MJ.
"Coming here out of costume," said Harry. "Such a shame you didn't bring the girls along."
"Don't do this, Harry," said MJ.
"Oh, I'm afraid I must," he said. "Now join us for dinner."
Peter managed to break free from his restraint and attack Harry, but unfortunately, he overpowered him and was close to killing him.
"Put him down," said MJ. "You want to have dinner, so let's have dinner."
"MJ, what are you—"
"You heard the man," said MJ, looking at him firmly.
Peter relented, Harry released him, and they began to sit around the table.
"You know this brings back so many memories," said Harry as he took a sip of wine. "You know, MJ, you have always been rather glamorous, but even when we were dating, you've always had eyes for Peter."
"That's not true," said MJ.
"Really, it was clear from the start the two of you had eyes for each other," said Harry and then looked towards Gwen. "Don't you agree, Gwen?"
Gwen was a bit groggy still conscious. "Harry, this isn't about the two of them getting together."
"True, this is about something else," Harry agreed. He then looked directly at Peter. "It's about you hiding the fact that my father was the Green Goblin."
"I did that to protect you," said Peter. "You worshipped your father; I was only trying to help."
"Lies!" Harry yelled, slamming his hands on the table. "The only reason you didn't tell me the truth wasn't because my father forgot everything; it was because he forgot who you were. Face it, deep down, you're selfish and fearful, and all your friends and family have died around you because of it."
"Sorry for everything, but I don't know what you want me to confess," said Peter.
Something, Harry snapped, and he immediately grabbed Peter and began beating him up.
"Harry, don't!" MJ pleaded, grabbing his arm.
"He needs a die MJ, or else he will bring death and suffering to everyone else," said Harry.
"If you're going to take anyone, take me," said MJ. "I'm the one who broke your heart all those years ago, not Peter."
"I wouldn't worry, Mary Jane; my son lacks the spine to kill anyone," said Norman as he stepped out of the shadow wearing his Green goblin costume.
"Dad? What are you doing wearing that you're supposed to be cleansed," said Harry.
"Ever since you infected me with that centipede, which turned me into Carnage, I took several precautions," Norman sneered, pulling out a pumpkin bomb. "Now it's time for me to give you some discipline."
He tossed the bomb, which exploded, and MJ was caught in the blast. Harry and Norman began to fight, and Peter quickly rushed to MJ.
"MJ, please speak to me," Peter pleaded.
MJ smiled. "I'm going to be okay… just trust me."
As it turned out, that pumpkin bomb was, in fact, a flash grenade, and Norman had received help from Mayor Fisk. He used the Spot to transport Harry, but during his fight with Norman, he released the sins he had collected, which returned to their original hosts,
Eventually, the Web Warriors met outside after Fisk took Harry into custody.
"I still can't believe you won't tell us what's happening," said Ben.
"Seriously, Peter, you can't handle everything by yourself," said Teresa.
"That's enough, guys," said MJ. "Peter will tell you everything, but he's been through a lot tonight."
"I agree," said Madam Web. "And I believe we have other matters to attend to, but Peter, we will expect answers."
"I will give them," Peter promised.
Before making his way home, Peter stopped by to visit Norman; as it turned out, he was still cleansed of his sins and completely remorseful. However, Peter snapped after everything that had happened to him that night and punched him hard in the face, stating that he had enough of the Osborns.
Peter eventually returned to the apartment and sat on the bed where MJ was sleeping.
"When you're right, Tiger?" she asked.
Peter shook his head. "No, I'm not, and I don't think it's over."
