Thursday morning dawns heavy with unspoken tension. Logan sits alone in his quiet kitchen, the remnants of last night's turmoil still weighing on his mind. He picks at his breakfast, the food tasteless against the backdrop of his frustration. Kendall, James, and Carlos enter the room cautiously, their expressions a mix of concern and uncertainty.
"Good morning, Logan. Did you sleep well?" Kendall ventures, hoping to lighten the mood.
Logan's glare could cut glass. "What do you think? My creation, the one I poured my heart and soul into, was damaged by the very people I trusted. I'm furious with you, James, and Carlos! Sleep? Hardly! I spent the night wrestling with anxiety over how to repair BuddyBot. I'm under immense stress, and it would be best if you three kept your distance today, even during rehearsal at Rocque Records this afternoon." His voice is laced with a mix of hurt and anger, leaving an uncomfortable silence in the air as his friends process his words.
"Can I still talk to you?" Katie inquires.
His expression softens, and a smile breaks through. "Absolutely, Katie-Bear. You're the only one I'm not upset with at the moment," Logan replies, pulling her into a warm embrace.
"I don't think what they did to BuddyBot was entirely malicious, Logan, but I can see it really hurt you, right?" Katie observes.
"Yeah, I won't hold onto this anger forever. I promise," Logan assures her.
After finishing their breakfast, they shower, get dressed, and head downstairs to the classroom.
As she notices her boyfriend's gloomy demeanor while he angrily stares at a science magazine, Camille gently places her hand on his arm. "Are you alright, Logan? You seem really troubled today. You're usually the most cheerful one in class. What's bothering you? Maybe I can help lighten your load," she offers with a kind smile.
He glances at her and exhales deeply. "I really don't want to discuss it right now," Logan replies. "Please don't push me to talk, because I'm feeling pretty tense, and I might say something I don't mean if I snap at you."
"I get it, Logan. Take all the time you need. I respect your need for space right now," Camille responds.
"Thanks," Logan replies.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting long shadows across Palm Woods Park, Logan's frustration boiled over. He had been trying to enjoy a moment of solitude with his favorite robotics magazine when Jett, ever the instigator, snatched it away with a mocking laugh. The laughter echoed in Logan's ears, igniting a fire within him that he could no longer contain. With a swift motion, he shoved Jett against the rough bark of a nearby tree, his voice rising in a fierce crescendo. "I'm beyond pissed off right now for other things I don't care to share with you but one thing I won't ever tolerate is you constantly making me the target of your amusement. I've told you time and time again to quit bullying me!"
The raw intensity of his words hung in the air, demanding attention.
The atmosphere shifted as onlookers froze, their eyes wide with disbelief. Whispers faded into silence as they witnessed the confrontation unfold. Jett, usually the one dishing out taunts, now stood frozen in fear, his bravado crumbling under the weight of Logan's fury. The tension was palpable, and it was clear that this was a breaking point.
Logan's voice, filled with a mix of anger and desperation, rang out once more, "So let me tell you this right now so you can without a doubt understand me: QUIT BULLYING ME! STOP TAKING MY STUFF! STOP CALLING ME NAMES! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" Each word struck like a thunderclap, resonating with the crowd and leaving them speechless.
Just then, Kendall, James, and Carlos rushed over, their expressions a mix of concern and confusion. They had heard the commotion and were eager to understand what had sparked such a fierce confrontation. The trio exchanged glances, sensing the gravity of the situation as they approached the two boys.
Their presence added a layer of urgency, and the air was thick with anticipation. Would they intervene, or would they stand by and watch as the tension unfolded? One thing was certain: the dynamics of their friendship were about to change in ways none of them could foresee.
