Hey, guys! Back with chapter 23! Sorry for the long wait. Hope you enjoy it!

Chase sat on his bed, staring at the sunlit floor, occasionally peering out to watch the distant fight. Nothing was really visible from where he was sitting, but he knew that four out of the six ninja were out there, risking their lives for Ninjago City.

He couldn't stop thinking about Lloyd and Nya. He knew that Garmadon wouldn't stop until he finished what he had come here to do. And that was jeopardizing the safety of two ninja.

Despite the less than ideal circumstances, one other thing wouldn't stop poking at Chase's frizzled mind. Was Kara okay?

He had last seen her before his horrific vision of Garmadon and Nya. He didn't know how she was doing in that evil black ship of Garmadon's.

To add to his worries, it just then registered that not only was Nya a target for Garmadon, she had a building collapsing on top of her in the near future.

Sighing in frustration at his inability to help, Chase put his head in his hands, rubbing his temples as a mild headache clouded his scattered thoughts.

He closed his eyes, imagining a quiet forest surrounding a still pond of water. Oh, how he'd kill to escape the fighting and to that place of calm.

Just when the scenery faded from his mind, another popped up. At first, he assumed it was his mind longing for the quiet woods again, but when everything cleared up, he realized he was having a flashback. He knew it wasn't a vision because none of his normal pre-vision symptoms came into play.

He relaxed his mind, clinging to the memory.

Two-year-old Chase sat in his mother's lap as she tickled his belly, and he cackled wildly. He kicked his legs, wanting more and more of his mother's love. His father leaned against a wooden post, smiling wearily. He looked too old for his age.

It was a tough time, but Chase, being a clueless toddler, didn't know that. He didn't know what his parents were going through.

"More, Mama, more!" little Chase squealed, waving his arms in excitement, then laughing inhumanly when he got his wish.

His mom giggled, staring into her only child's innocent deep brown eyes. She put on a smile for him, but it was only half-real.

Little Chase didn't know the whole story, and he was too young to read the weary looks on both of his parents' faces. That was for his own benefit.

Chase seemed to finally be getting tired. He lay his head on his mother's arm, closing his eyes.

"I love you, my baby." She planted a kiss on his forehead. "I always will."

The memory ended there, but Chase kept his eyes closed, clinging to the sweetness of his mother's love. He could almost feel it.

It made him miss his parents more. He knew that they had died in some battle, and he had been an orphan ever since, wandering the bustling streets of Ninjago City like a lone wolf. He had been one his whole life. He couldn't be more grateful for how the ninja had made him family. He smiled, savoring every bit of comfort that he was feeling. The memory had felt real. He almost felt like he was inside of it, watching from a distance. Almost…

A knock on his door jolted him out of his dreamful thoughts. "Y-yes?" he stuttered, spinning his head towards the door.

There he saw Nya slouching against the frame. He raised his eyebrows as he realized that the door had already been open. Nya had probably just seen him relishing his memory. Her next comment confirmed that.

"You okay, there? You seemed to be in dreamland."

"Yeah. Just…nevermind." He turned away, not sure if he should tell her about the memory. It seemed embarrassing.

Nya's look went from amused to concerned. She walked over to the bed, taking a seat next to him. "You didn't have another vision, did you?"

"No, no, nothing like that. Well…not a vision exactly, but…" He trailed off.

"But what?" she urged when he didn't finish the sentence.

"But nothing. So, aren't you supposed to be on patrol with Lloyd?" Chase tried shifting the subject to something else, and surprisingly, it worked.

"Nah. He's got it covered. Besides, do you hear any commotion? I didn't think so. It's sooo boring out there." She looked at the window for a second, then whipped her head back at me so fast that I leaned back in shock. "Don't try to change the subject. What did you see?"

Chase sighed, not surprised that she caught on to his trick. "Well, it wasn't a vision. It was more like…a flashback."

"How do you know it wasn't a vision?"

"Before visions, I always get these feelings, and I go crazy during visions. But, I had no pre-vision feelings, and I felt calm. And happy."

Nya smiled. "What was the flashback?"

"It was of me and my parents when I was little. Surprised I even remember." He looked away, worried that he would tear up.

"You miss them, don't you?" Nya put a hand on his back.

"I really don't know. I mean, sure, but I barely knew them. And I never will."

"You seem to know them better than you think."

"I guess." His shoulders went slack, and he pretended to be very interested in his blanket. That's when they heard Lloyd screaming, "HELP!"

Both Nya and Chase jumped up, bolting out the door as fast as they could.

"Stay there!" Nya commanded, gesturing for Chase to stay within the bounty's protected walls. He then saw the problem. At least fifty of Garmadon's armed soldiers were crawling around, shooting and barely missing the two fighting ninja.

Chase resisted the urge to run out there and fight off the soldiers himself. His eyes were glued to Lloyd and Nya, who seemed to pull out tricks that Chase had never seen them do.

Then he saw one of Garmadon's soldiers aim a purple blast straight for Nya, and this time, he didn't miss.

Chase watched in horror as the purple ball of fury nailed Nya right in the stomach, and she fell back from the impact, going limp when she hit the ground.

"NYA!" Chase cried, unable to hold back any longer. He rushed to the scene, then time slows, then stops, then speeds up, then reverses itself again and again until he felt the warm tingling sensation in his fingertips again.

He dropped to the ground, screaming as the vision hit him full force. He clutched his head, crying and writhing on the ground like a wounded snake.

All he saw was a green and silver swirl snaking its way through the tangled branches of the forest. He watched intently as the coil of mist spiraled itself into a beautiful silver wolf with gleaming emerald eyes and a tail tip shining with the most breath-taking emerald green took shape, howling with the wind. Or was it howling the sound of the wind? Chase couldn't tell, but he was stunned at this magnificent creature.

The wolf began to run wildly through the snow-covered woods, seemingly running from a tail of sickly green mist. As the wolf passed his vision, Chase heard something.

"When your father opened the door, he should have been more careful about what came out."

Chills went down Chase's spine. What did that mean? "Who are you?!" Chase cried, scared, confused, and desperate for answers. But he doesn't get any. Just as he watches the tip of the wolf's emerald green tail tip disappear into the howling winds, he sees something else.

For tails of color, red, blue, green, and yellow looping and curving around him, dancing in the wind for a long time before finally snaking their way together to form a silhouetted person. A young boy.

But not just any young boy. Chase.

Then the vision ended, and he jolted awake, sweating and breathing hard, but somehow feeling relieved.

He sat up, realizing that all six of the ninja were surrounding him.

"What-what happened?" he asked in a daze.

"You had another vision, didn't you?" Lloyd asked.

"Y-yeah, but nothing important." He knew he hadn't convinced the others by saying it was "nothing important," but he didn't want to worry them right now. "What about Garmadon?"

"Gone," Jay said.

"What? How?"

"I don't even know," Kai jumped in. "We were fighting, and then, poof, everything was gone."

"It was my vision," Chase mumbled under his breath. Then he said it louder. "It was my vision."

"What do you mean?" Zane asked.

"When I jumped in to save Nya and Lloyd–"He received death glares from all six ninja– "Sorry guys, I had to! Anyways, I had this vision. It had a silver wolf with green eyes and a green tail tip. As it ran by me, I heard the words, 'When your father opened the door, he should have been more careful about what came out.'"

"Ooh, ominous," Cole said jokingly.

Nya slapped him on the arm. "This isn't a joke, Cole. Continue, Chase."

"It was running from some sort of green mist. Anyways, I saw four colors, blue, green, red, and yellow. They intertwined together and created a young boy. I think that boy was me."

"You? What do you mean you?" Kai asked.

"I don't know."

"Wait a second. Blue, green, red, and yellow, blue, green, red, and yellow," Nya repeated, seeming to have an epiphone. "I've got it! Those colors are the colors of the time blades. The colors of time. I think they were intertwining to make you because, well, you are the next Time ninja. You control time."

"Wow," Chase breathed, soaking it all in. "I control time. I control time."

"Don't get too hot-headed now. Just because you can control time doesn't mean you're kind of the world," Kai said ironically.

"Look who's talking." Nya gave him a look that only she could give.

"Alright, alright. But, hey, what about that wolf?" Kai asked.

"A green and silver wolf? Do those even exist?" Jay asked.

"According to my research, animals that obtain a color other than their natural coat are likely able to take the form of something else," Zane said matter-of-factly.

"Huh. Take the form of something else," Cole pondered.

"Guys!" Lloyd jumped up. "Green and silver. Think about it. That has to be Morro." Everyone's faces dawned realization as soon as the words left the green ninja's mouth.

"Morro. Of course!" Cole exclaimed. "Why is he back?"

"Wait wait wait wait wait," Chase said. "Who's Morro?" All he got were a bunch of gaping jaws and crazy eyes.

"Who's Morro? Are you kidding me right now?" Kai said incredulously.

"Guys, guys, listen, Chase probably doesn't know most of Ninjago's villains. I mean, he didn't even know who we were at first."

"True," Lloyd agreed.

"Morro was a former pupil of Master Wu. When he didn't get to be the green ninja, he got angry and became one of the many villains we've had to fight. The story's more complicated than that, but you get the idea," Zane explained.

"Okay, so he's a villain. He didn't seem villainous in his wolf form to me."

"We wouldn't know. He's been cursed to the Departed Realm," Cole said.

"Oh, I see." Chase nodded, finally catching up to the potential meaning of his vision. Then he snapped back to the present. "Wait, Nya, you were hit by a purple blast of something powerful. Are you okay?" He felt guilty for not realizing sooner.

"Yeah, I should be fine. I'm a little tired, and my stomach is sore as heck, but I'll manage."

"Good." Then his head snapped up. "Kara."

As if to put his thoughts into action, a black ship hovered over them. Sticking his head out the side was Garmadon.

"Couldn't get rid of me that easily!" he shouted. Then he hung Kara out the side by her scruff. She was still in her fox form.

"Kara!" Chase cried. He lunged for the ship, but it was too high. It hovered in the air, slowly moving forward. Chase ran under it, not wanting to lose sight of Kara again.

He halted to a stop when he realized he was about to run over a hill of rocks. When Chase looked up, he saw that the ship was in jumping distance now. And so was Kara.

He backtracked enough to get good running speed. Then he jumped, and by some miracle, grabbed onto the side of Garmadon's ship.

"Hey, get off, you little rascal!" Garmadon shouted, dropping Kara onto the floor of the ship.

Chase pulled himself onto the ship, scooping up Kara. She then transformed into her human self.

"Kara. I thought I'd lost you." It may have looked weird that they were getting up close and personal, but Chase didn't care about anything except the fact that Kara was okay. And the fact that Nya had just followed him.

"Chase! A little help here." Chase hauled Nya onto the ship.

"Nya, what are you doing here?"

"I don't want you off by yourself. Come on, we have to get off this ship."

"Oh, that shouldn't be a problem at all," Garmadon sneered. With that, he turned the ship sideways abruptly, causing Chase, Nya, and Kara to tumble onto the top of a building.

Garmadon blasted at the building, causing it to collapse. The trio found another building and hopped onto that, jumping from building to building until they were on the ground and out of sight from Garmadon.

Out of breath and bent over, they smiled in relief just as a dark shadow was cast upon them. "Like I said, you can't get rid of me that easily," came the sneering voice of Garmadon.

He sent a blast their way, and the three of them had barely enough time to roll out of the way. The blast hit the building next to the one they were standing near. It began to fall. It seemed to collapse in slow motion. He saw it head straight for Nya.

Without hesitation he lunged for her, shoving her out of the way before feeling a solid block of cement crash down on skull. In an instant, the world faded away, and so did the cries of Kara and Nya.
