Chapter Two
As the night passes quickly; Arthur Weasley went to visit his son at work. Walking into Weasley Sancturary, Arthur quickly found his son in his office. While knowing that his son knew he was here; he waited for him to acknowledge his presence.
'It was nothing.' Xavier-Mason said suddenly.
'Was it?' countered Arthur.
'Leave it be... Please.' X-M asked his dad sadly.
'But why did you feel you had to hide it from your mother and I?' Arthur asked.
'It was easier to handle being so close, without being able to have her.' X-M replied.
'Were you going to tell us? Or her for that matter?' Arthur asked worriedly.
'No... But apparently Whiteout had other plans.' Xavier-Mason said rolling his eyes.
Whiteout is Xavier-Mason's wolf personality; his other half. Whiteout is attached to Hermione as much as Xavier-Mason is. Whiteout has always been a part of him for as long as X-M can remember. His personality made him dominant, loyal, fierce, passionate; a natural leader. A well-respected Alpha, runs the pack with his pack with the members in it. With over 500 million members, Alpha Whiteout is well known; does whatever is necessary to protect his pack.
With Hermione by his side, Whiteout and Xavier-Mason would become more balanced. Luna would have the ability to know when Xavier-Mason needed her to step in and deal with situations if needed. To help with the equality of the pack. When they decided to have pups, to bear the next Alpha of The Weasley Pack.
'You know you can tell your mother and I anything, right bud?' Arthur asked his son softly.
'Yes dad, I know that. I just couldn't tell you about this. I wasn't ready to tell anyone, most importantly not her. She is young and has her whole life in front of her. My problems don't need to be hers.' X-M replied.
Arthur sighed, he understood that; however, that didn't mean she doesn't have the right to know. If Hermione was to be Xavier-Mason's Luna, she had a right to know what that would mean. Hermione is extremely smart; she'd understand how it would affect her and her life. Molly and Arthur have thought that they would be good together, between all their conversations and little jokes, he knew they had feelings for each other; just too afraid to tell each other about their own feelings.
'I understand that bud. I really do, but she does deserve to know what that would mean. She already knows that you call her Luna. Its who she will be, to stand by her; help you through tough times. She's your Luna bud. Just don't hide from her, that's all I'm trying to say.' Arthur said without telling him of her feelings for him.
'Mm...' Xavier-Mason hummed thoughtfully.
'Just think about it, ok?' Arthur asked getting up to leave.
'Yeah, I will' Xavier-Mason sighed. Turning to watch the sun rise, thinking about what his dad just said.
MEANWHILE...
Hermione woke with the sun, pulling out of an amazing dream. She was in a field, where there was an extremely huge wolf. Fur as white as freshly fallen snow. What caught her eye the most were its eyes; one hazel, the other a deep ocean blue. Xavier-Mason's. She just knew, having never seen the wolf before but knowing it was him.
'Hello there.' Hemione said softly, as if she spoke to loudly the wolf would pounce. The wolf prowled around her, like a hunter stalking its prey. Tail low and fluffy, head low and its fur sleek. The wolf stopped its walk abruptly, when he heard her voice speak. As he slowly sat down, a strong breeze blow through. The wind wrapped around Hermione's hair, making it whip around her face. When she moved it out of the way, the wolf had moved and was gone. She was pulled out of the dream softly, panting in confusion.
'What the hell...' Whispered Hermione softly.
'You alright there, love?' Xavier-Mason asked concerned.
Hermione's head whips to the door, to see Xavier-Mason leaning against the door frame. Still flustered from her dream she blushed deeply. Xavier-Mason eyebrow rose, wondering what she was dreaming about.
'Umm... Yeah, I think I am, thank you Fred.' Hermione replied getting up to start her day.
'You sure Hermione? You look a little red.' Xavier-Mason said back softly, afraid he'd make her run if he spoke to much.
'Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, just a weird dream. Nothing to be worried about. I'm alright, more confused than anything.' Hermione answered in response.
'You want to talk about it?' Xavier-Mason asked.
'No, no; its ok. No need to worry about it. Honest.' Hermione said going to go to the bathroom, softly pushing past him to go.
'Hermione...' Xavier-Mason said, blocking her path to the bathroom.
'Fred...' Hermione copied him, making him chuckle.
'You can talk to me, you know?' Xavier-Mason asked gently.
'I know that, but it was nothing. It's honestly ok, don't worry about it.' Hermione said walking into the bathroom and closing the door.
A bit later Hermione, made her way downstairs. Stopping on the bottom step when she saw Xavier-Mason leaning against the back of the couch, talking with George about the joke shop. The giant wolf shot to the front of her mind as he turned to look at her. Crystal blue eyes locked with soft caramel eyes. Xavier-Mason's eyes flickered to hazel, as Whiteout look through Xavier-Mason's eyes to check on his mate.
'Why do they do that?' Hermione asked.
'What do what?' George asked confused.
'Noth-' Xavier-Mason started.
'ENOUGH!' Hermione shouted.
Xavier-Mason narrowed his eyes at her. Daring her to challenge him. 'Pardon?' He asked slowly, as Whiteout came to the front. His voice dipping low as he spoke.
'Enough! Stop saying its nothing. This is the third time I have seen the change. Why do your eyes change Fred?' Hermione said frustrated.
'They don't, Hermione. I don't know why you keep saying they do.' Xavier-Mason said softly.
'But they do Fred, I saw them. I know I sound crazy, but I know what I saw.' Hermione said sadly, while walking into the kitchen for breakfast.
'What is she talking about, Freddie?' George asked still confused.
'Don't worry about it, Georgie.' Xavier-Mason replied sighing.
After breakfast, the kids decided that they would go swimming. It was a hot day out, so a dip in the pond not far from the house was a good idea; all agreed eagerly. Hermione was laying down for a tan before she got in the water, she had the top of her bikini undone. Xavier-Mason noticed this and went to put sunscreen on her back and legs.
'Mm?..' Hermione hummed tiredly.
Xavier-Mason chuckled huskily back. 'Just making sure you don't burn, love.' He hummed back.
'Fred?' Hermione asked tiredly.
'Yes, love?' Xavier-Mason softly answered, massaging her legs and back.
'Your eyes change color.' Hermione stated.
'Yes, they do.' Xavier-Mason sighed and stopped massaging her legs.
Hermione was now alert, having not expected him to admit the change in his eyes. Her mind flashing to her dream, wondering if it was the wolf she saw. Not fully understanding what was going on, wanting answers. Hermione slowly sat up, while Xavier-Mason gently tied her bikini top. She turned to look at him with unspoken questions in her eyes, hoping to get answers. Xavier-Mason gently sat down next to her, trying to figure out what to say; how to say it. Telling her she was his mate, his Luna; that wouldn't be easy. Afraid she'd run if he said the wrong thing.
'I don't actually know how to say this...' Xavier-Mason said softly.
'Say what, Fred?' Hermione asked gently.
'Xavier-Mason.' He replied.
'Pardon?' Hermione stated, confused.
'My name, my first name is Xavier-Mason.' Xavier-Mason answered back.
'Really? I didn't know that.' Hermione said shocked.
'I don't really tell people. Legally it's known as Xavier-Mason but I prefer to go by Fred.' Xavier-Mason explained.
'Why don't you tell people?' Hermione inquired.
'I hide a lot of things from people. I have a hard time telling people things. I lost someone very important to me when I was young, since I have been having a hard time letting people in. It's easier to push people away then to pull then in.' Xavier-Mason explained.
'Well that I understand. You do know you don't have to hide from me, right?' Hermione replies gently.
'That's why it's hard to talk to you. I want to tell you everything. I have been hiding too long to let you in, I'm sorry Hermione.' Xavier-Mason said sadly back.
Hermione sighed. Leaning against X-M gently. He rumbled in response to her coming close. Her scent surrounding him, flooding his senses. Xavier-Mason leaned into it, drawing in a deep breath. Having always found her scent grounding. Xavier-Mason noted the change in her scent, turning his head to smell Hermione better.
'What?' Hermione asked confused. Tilting her head slightly.
'You smell is different today…' Xavier-Mason replied gently.
'Smell?' Hermione questioned him. As the wolf comes to the forefront of her mind. 'Can I ask you something?' Hermione says quickly, not giving Xavier-Mason a chance to speak about her scent.
'Mmm?' Xavier-Mason hums back, furrowing his brows, confused.
'I had a dream last night.. it was of a pure white wolf. It was huge, a big soft fluffy wolf. It's eyes… one was hazel and the other was blue.. like yours. Was it you?' Hermione question lightly.
Xavier-Mason whipped his head to Hermione at the mention of his wolf. Whiteout coming to the front of his mind, as his eye change color before her eyes, Xavier-Mason leans in with a rumble in his chest.
'Hello' Hermione said softly to the wolf.
Whiteout grins, 'hello Luna' he replies softly back.
'Luna?' Hermione questioned back.
Xavier-Mason shook his head quickly. Pulling whiteout back with a growl. 'It's to soon. I'm sorry' he got up and jogged into the field to go for a run. Hermione frowned, then decided to join the others in the pond, turning back to the field where X-M ran in. She could swear she could see hazel eyes looking back.
