Dear reader,

During the lockdowns I got into creative writing and wrote my version of a future SSX game story/concept. I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this, although it's within the fanfiction element. So, take what you will from this.

CONCEPT

Scene 1

-The original opening of SSX 3 begins and runs for about 22 seconds before the camera pulls back and reveals that the opening is being played on an old wall mounted TV. As the camera pulls back further, we see that the tv is in an empty ski shop and convenience store. The store is dusty with a few overhead lights out or at least flickering. In the background we can see a door marked 'Office' with a light on inside with a silhouette of a person sitting inside.

Scene 2

-The camera enters the office, and we see an older man hunched over a computer that's just as old as he. The man is typing out an email. As the words become visible to us, it becomes narrated by the man as the scene fades into his talking points.

Scene 3 thru 10

Old Man: "I hope this letter reaches you well. I wish I had done a better job at keeping up with ya'll and perhaps I wouldn't be in the situation I'm in now."

-Camera fades out over the shop's exterior showing the old worn sign out front:

"Rob and Bob's Board Shop". A ghost image of past versions Psymon and Moby can be seen fighting in the parking lot before vanishing like a distant memory.

Old Man Continues: "I wish I could say that things have been as they were a decade ago when we last held the SSX competitions... It pains me to say that I'm all that's left. Most of the peak one and two towns are completely deserted, with the entirety of the mountain falling into disrepair and ruin."

-Camera pans around different peaks, lodges, and Metro City. Like places long forgotten, what has not rusted away has been taken over by snow and the mountains' natural growths. Racetracks and slopestyle venues have all but been erased. A ghost image of Eddie can be seen gliding down a nonexistent rail, before vanishing into the background like a distant memory.

Old Man: "I know I have no right to ask this of any of you, but with a little help and awareness I think big mountain can be saved. Of course, there's so much work to be done, but Bob and I can take care of all the paperwork. I know danger Dave has an apartment in Metro City somewhere, his mechanic skills and ours combined could bring this place back to life. Yet, without talented riders to explore and rediscover old tracks, or invent new ones, is something beyond us."

-Camera explores untouched slopes of fresh powder with dozens of different lines to be found or created. A ghost image of Giff being chased by a big orange cat comes across the screen before vanishing into memory.

Old Man: "Please. We can't fix this alone."

Scene 11

-Camera cuts to an older Zoe Payne working on a BMX bike in her garage. She pauses as a beeping sound starts coming from a nearby drawer. She pulls down her safety goggles and steps quickly to open the drawer.

Camera Overhead shot of the drawer opening to reveal an 'EMCOM' data pad blinking the word 'Message' on its front screen.

Scene 12

Cut to black with the font:
