Friend & Foe System
SSX Rebirth (Base Game)
All players have existing feelings about each other, like and dislikes and such. Although these feelings can't be changed, during races when the PC knockdowns NPCs during events will prompt further aggression during follow up semifinals/finals. Also, unique/funny cutscenes and dialogue options become available between characters after events and at the lodges/Metro City.
SSX 'Newbie' (Expansion?)
Players will explore the full 'friend/foe' system as they advance up the mountain. All NPCs (except the mentors) start at neutral opinion of the PC and change based on playstyle and dialogue options.

100% -Riding Partner- (Unlocks Dateable Option if Available**)
50% -Friend- (Can Receive Gifts from NPCs)
0% -Neutral-
-50% -Foe- (NPCs will knock you down during events)
-100% -Enemy- (Can never be recovered*)
NPC 'Friend AI'
-Friendly NPCs will give gifts at lodges and after events.
-Friendly NPCs will slow down when racing head-to-head with you for first place.
-Friendly NPCs will celebrate your victories with you after events.
-In Freeride, NPCs will sometimes join you and comment on your style.
-Cutscenes in Lodges/Metro City are often Fun/Happy in nature.
NPC 'Foe AI'
-Foe/Enemy NPCs will attack you during races.
-Foe/Enemy NPCs will sway the crowd for support during events.
-Enemy NPCs will slowly match your stats, becoming harder to beat.
-Enemy NPCs will mock you for your failures.
-In Freeride, NPCs will knock you off your snowboard with snowballs.
-Cutscenes in Lodges/Metro City are often Combative/Aggressive in nature.
*Please Note: NPC attitude status between 100% positive and 99% negative can change throughout story/dialogue opinions. However, once an NPC reaches 100% negativity, they will never not be a 'foe' or 'enemy' to the PC. This is to replace difficulty modes. Although each mountain peak gets harder as you go, having conversations with other racers/NPCs will make the journey much easier. During normal story progression, should the PC ignore all dialogue/conversation options, all neutral NPCs will begin to drift into foe/enemy territory based on event placement. It's possible to make an enemy (100%) with an NPC you've never met outside of an event.
**In the event that multiple 'rival' NPCs are dated throughout the story; The PC will be confronted by them during a 'Metro City' visit. The player will have to choose one over the other(s) resulting in one being a Friend/Partner (100%) and the other(s) being an Enemy (-100%).
