Author's Note
I've had this idea cooking for a while, and I really hope y'all enjoy. I'm not sure I'll continue it, but if everyone likes it I'll keep it going forward.
I've been thinking of something akin to this ever since I saw people draw Zelda as a half dragon girl, and I just knew I had to throw my imagination into the fray. So here we are, and if you all enjoy, maybe I'll make it into a two shot with a more romance second part…
Or…
The othe option I have is listed at the bottom due to spoilers.

Breath of the Wild - Kakariko Village
He stood atop a vast hillside, nothing but the chirping of birds and the whistling of the winds there to accompany him. Not for the first time he found his gaze drawn towards the remains of the castle off in the center of the land. However, this time it did not bear the dark image of the calamity as it had for the last one hundred years.
Now it stood cleansed of that dreadful darkness, and peace had finally returned to its lonely walls, and once again it could be restored to its previous magnificence. As wonderful as that was, it seemed to pale in comparison to the beauty of the woman standing intimately close beside him.
A smile graced his lips as he tore his eyes from the castle and to the beautiful blonde beside him, silently watching as she became lost within the screens of the magical slate within her hands. He couldn't find it in himself to blame her, for she'd always been the curious type. That and, watching her play with the device always made his heart flutter. Her excitement over the little things was so infectious, and it was certainly one of her many quirks that he'd come to love about her.
It was only the third time she'd spoke his name that he realized she had been trying to gain his attention, but he'd been too lost in her eyes to notice. "Link, were you even listening to me?" She pouted, cheeks puffing up when she realized that he'd definitely not been.
Her cheeks flushed when a smile split his lips that made her heart flutter beneath her breasts, his eyes scrunching up as his cheeks rose. The way he looked at her was a way no one ever had before, and she knew it wasn't the first time he'd done so either. But this time his expression wasn't masked underneath the weight of his heavy burdens, and his real feelings seemed to shine through.
And…
Perhaps as selfish as it seemed, she wanted him to keep looking at her like that. It was so different to the cool and stoic warrior that had stood by her side all these years, now more open, genuine. It made her heart race beneath her breasts, cheeks flushed with a sudden surge of excitement.
Yes…
If there had ever been a man she wanted to give her heart to, it was this one.
But her father would never allow it, for it would go against the tradition of choosing proper marriage candidates. For a litany of reasons, it simply wasn't possible for anything to prosper between them, and he must've known it as well. For he had never shown her that expression before, never reciprocated when she'd give him hints even though she knew her father would grow irritated with her actions.
But…
That was all in the past now, history over one hundred years old. The royal family had been entirely wiped out, save for her, and her alone. That meant…
That meant that she was the Queen now, Queen of what remained of Hyrule, and all the duties that came along with that title. More than that, it meant that there was no one who would oppose her decision to choose the man she desired, despite the old traditions.
She hadn't even thought of the possibility until now, shortly after Calamity Ganon's defeat. She was still reeling from the last hundred years of struggling against the mighty demon, she'd not even had a moment to think of herself. And now, looking at the handsome, heroic young man standing beside her…
Well…
She realized that he was the one she wanted to help her continue the royal family line…
If he would have her, of course.
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you." He muttered, feeling as if his heart had never been lighter than in that moment. "I was lost for a moment, that's all." He admitted genuinely.
The princess suddenly found her throat feeling a little dry, having to swallow down her nerves as she found the courage to seek out her voice once more. "W-What…?" She struggled, licking her lips as she took a single courageous step forward. "W-What has pulled your attention so?" She muttered beneath her breath, a hint of a whisper on her lips that his long pointed ears could clearly make out.
He looked her way again, lips parting to say something, but he froze before he could. His eyes widened imperceptibly at the look that crossed her face, so open, the yearning in her gentle blue eyes took him aback briefly. But he gathered himself almost instantly, hands coming up to interlock his fingers with her own, a confident sure expression washing over his features. "A certain princess…" He hummed lowly, thumbs brushing against the top of her hand.
The woman shuddered slightly underneath his gentle touch, his rough calloused hands sending shivers up her spine. "L-Link…?" She breathed, biting her lips.
His eyes widened slightly at her voice, but he didn't respond. He knew she was struggling to speak her heart, and he wasn't going to risk making her lock up by interrupting her.
"I-It's going to be a difficult task.. bringing our ruined kingdom back to its previous glory." She murmured meekly, averting her eyes as he gently massaged her hands. "B-But… I was hopeful that… t-that I could count on you to be by my side during this difficult time… and…" She asked, swallowing thickly as she faced him again, tears prickling the corners of her eyes as a strange fear filled her heart. A fear that he might deny her what she wanted for some sense of duty, or out of some other reason.
"A-A-And more than that, I was hoping that you'd- t-that we could-" She trailed off with a heated breath as she leaned forward, her heart soaring as he did just the same, his lips tenderly capturing her own. His hands came up to cup her cheeks, gently brushing away her tears with his thumbs.
"Don't cry, Zelda…" He breathed lovingly. "I'll always be here for you."
He stared at the opening in the wall, the bookshelf lying broken and discarded on the ground not far from it.
A strange darkness emanated from the newly discovered tunnel, one that didn't sit well with him. Hyrule Castle was no stranger to secrecy and hidden rooms, but this one felt…
Different…
Wrong, somehow. He couldn't quite explain it, but it set his nerves on edge.
"Linky! I want you to be careful down there, we didn't even know a cave like that existed until just recently. I know you're a reckless idiot, but this time just… Please be careful."
Link found his hands held tightly by the Sheikah scientist's, her vibrant red eyes radiating a strange level of concern he'd never seen from her before.
He returned her worried gaze with a gentle smile, eyes scrunching up slightly. It went without saying that her words were made out of genuine concern, that concern existing due to his stated recklessness.
Purah sighed, hands slipping free from his own. She knew asking this of him was a moot point. The young man was simultaneously the most courageous and reckless person that she knew. He would face unspeakable evils without flinching, yet also thought that the best way to accomplish his goals were the fun ways.
Fun in his eyes was diving off a cliff to surprise his enemies, dropping a handful of bombs while he paraglided just feet above, throwing a giant axe to distract his foes while he bounced off their heads with his shield.
Etc…
Yes, without a doubt, the Hero of Hyrule was indeed a man that was reckless, fearless, and strong.
But she knew well that his quiet stoicism was born from the mountainous weight of the world that rested on his shoulders at all times.
He was Link, wielder of the Master Sword, one chosen to defend the Princess, and save the kingdom when under the threat of the Calamity. Even after managing to both save Zelda and destroy said Calamity, he was still responsible for protecting her. Now so more then ever, evident by the rings they both wore.
She was the one of the last of the royal family bloodline, one of the last of those that carried the blood of the goddess herself. If that wasn't enough of a reason to make him violently protective of her, it was certainly his deep love and affection for her that cemented his bond with the beautiful blond woman.
To be responsible for defending her after everything that had become of the world, it said all that it needed to for why he chose to stay silent most of the time. But, despite his recklessness, he still had a level head when it came to doing what he did best.
Purah knew this, knew that asking him of all people to take his job seriously was ridiculous, but…
She just wanted him to know that she cared, that she really genuinely cared, and the smile he gave her told her all she needed to know.
He appreciated her concern, and would do his best to live up to those expectations placed upon him. "Purah, please don't worry about us. Your fears always set my heart on edge." Zelda spoke up softly, holding a hand to her breasts.
The Queen had already been as excited to explore the new caves as she was scared to, hearing the pretty Sheikah woman expressing such concern over their inevitable journey to the unexplored didn't make the pit in her stomach any less prevalent.
"Is it so wrong to fret over you, Princess? I feel like you are just as liable to find yourself in trouble as Linky is. I think it is in your blood." Purah pointed out, eyebrow raised in question.
Zelda pouted, cheeks puffing up in a way that Link deemed definitely not cute.
Nope.
Not cute at all.
Ugly in fact.
The opposite of cute.
How could she even be considered cute, tis was unheard of.
Unfortunately, he was as bad of a liar as he was a swimmer.
Cheeks flushed as he realized that he'd allowed his mind to wander once more towards the beautiful pouting face of his wife, he turned towards the entrance recently uncovered.
With the Calamity Ganon destroyed, Zelda had been adamant that Hyrule Castle be repaired. As such, many hidden rooms and tunnels had been revealed from the damage the castle had suffered. Most were merely storage rooms or bunkers for the royal family to take shelter in.
Until they discovered the tunnel.
When in the library one evening, while removing a broken bookshelf, those tasked with repairing the castle had come across a wall that hid a tunnel.
The stones had collapsed, revealing a darkness behind.
Zelda was all too eager to explore a secret room beneath her castle, and had demanded Link accompany her.
Naturally, he accepted without much fuss, as he always did.
But, despite his journey thus far, this was one of the few times something had set him on edge. Something about the cave system had set alight a fire of warning in his heart, and Purah's words of concern only added fuel to that fire.
Turning away from Zelda as she began the descent into the depths below, he found his hands once more captured by the beautiful Sheikah woman. "Linky… Just promise me this." She spoke quietly, voice soft, lacking in that bubbly tone he'd come to love about her. "Don't get hurt, and bring the princess back before she gets herself into serious trouble. I hate seeing you wounded from your battles, it makes my heart ache…" She murmured, voice hitching as if nearly moved to tears.
This time, however, he felt that offering the woman a gentle smile would not do her feelings justice.
Purah flushed when his thumbs rubbed gentle circles on her hands, her eyes brought back up to his own deep blue orbs. "I promise." He muttered gently, leaning forward to pull her into a hug.
He felt like her last family from the Hyrule of old, she couldn't bear the thought of losing him. He must've understood this as well, reassuring her with a firm hug.
Then he was gone, taking after the much too impatient Queen so he could look after her.
It didn't take long for the blond haired queen to find something that tickled her fancy.
"Oh Link! Look here, these walls tell the story of the sealing war! A-And these ones, they seem to speak of the Demon King himself. I still find it difficult to believe that this all happened so long ago in our history…"
He cracked a little look at the young woman's enthusiasm behind her yearning for knowledge; Finding the way she'd bounced to and fro, looking at each and every part of the ruins cute. It only made his protective instincts flare whenever anything even remotely threatening came their way.
Yet, speaking of threats, only Keese appeared to harass them occasionally.
But that was not what set him on edge.
No, it was the presence of a dark power that filled the air. The moment he'd breathed in the black smoke that was tinged with a worrisome red color, he felt his stomach churn in distress.
That worry was only confounded by the Master Sword's reaction to the darkness.
"L-Link! The sword!" Zelda had turned from another of the endless murals to find the blade of evil's bane pulsating within the confines of its scabbard.
He was surprised that he'd not noticed it before, drawing the blade only to find its sliver metal suddenly glowing with a bright blue light. It was unbecoming of one such as he to completely miss such a critical reaction, his previously mentioned worries only multiplying in the face of the glowing sword.
It was common knowledge to the pair that the legendary sword only reacted in such a manner when it sensed a vile danger nearby, usually pertaining to the presence of the corrupting Malice that
had been spread around Hyrule.
But it had not acted in said manner since the destruction of Calamity Ganon.
For it to act up now…
"Link… I'm worried." Zelda whispered, clutching onto his free arm nervously.
He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her gently into his side to reassure her that he was there, he was not leaving, and nothing short of death itself was ever going to stop him from doing what he'd failed to all those years ago.
He was going to protect her, until his last breath.
The Master Sword pulsed again, before going quiet. He glanced at the blade, trying to figure out just what it was that the sword was attempting to inform his of.
What did it know that he did not?
He debated on turning round and fleeing up the stairs with her in tow, not willing to risk her safety any further.
But…
"Link, we must keep exploring." Despite her fears, his presence and the warmth of his body was enough to motivate her to continue.
He found her ability to face her fears in-spite of the reality of their situation commendable, yet this was one of those times that he feared her courage was going to result in disastrous consequences.
He only hoped that he was wrong.
That said, if it came down to it, they could always use the Purah Pad to escape from the tunnels and retreat if needed.
It was the lifeline that allowed his feet to continue moving him forward, the reality that it for some reason they were separated, she could escape and save herself, even if that meant he was stranded.
He was the Hero, no monster down here would cause him to stumble.
He'd seen far worse.
"Link, there's more stairs over here. I-I think they go deeper down." Zelda spoke up, pulling his attention towards a hidden wall that had collapsed some time ago.
He approached the stairwell, making sure to walk ahead of her as he descended the hallway of darkness.
This time, when the Master Sword reacted, he did not miss it. He pulled the blade once more, noticing that the frequency of its pulses had tripled.
Whatever was down these steps was responsible for triggering such a response from the blade.
He only wished that he could speak to it, so that he could properly understand its warnings. He'd heard stories of the heroes of old having a relationship with the sword, speaking to its mysterious spirit form and forming a friendship with it.
He wished that he'd been given that chance, but at some point in Hyrule's history, that spirit had gone quiet. The blade had lost its ability to speak to its wielder, reducing to utters and whispers that he was only occasionally able to hear.
So this time, when it pulsed the most powerful that he had ever seen it, a single world broke through the jargon of noise to softly grace his ears.
"Danger…"
He paused, eyes widening in surprise. He glanced to Zelda, the woman seemingly just as surprised as he was.
Had they simply misheard things?
Was the strange darkness truly getting to them?
Were their ears simply playing tricks on them?
"Danger." It spoke again, this time they heard it a bit more clearly than before.
It pulsed bright blue in warning, the flashing growing faster and faster.
"Danger… Danger… Danger…" It repeated like a mantra, the tone sounding increasingly distressed.
It almost sounded like it was begging…
Pleading that they turn back, that they retreat from whence they'd come.
And yet?
"If the Master Sword is that fearful…
Whatever is down here, we cannot leave be." Zelda muttered in realization. "Evil left unchecked will only fester until it is too powerful to contain. I-I think I realized that when struggling to contain Calamity Ganon…"
As much as he wished to heed the words of the sword, he also knew that Zelda was right. Whatever was down here could become something far more serious if left unchecked.
They couldn't turn back now, not with the knowledge they had.
He nodded in agreement at her words, moving shoulder to shoulder with her until they reached the deepest pits of the tunnels.
That's where they found it.
They stepped into a large open room, in the center of which was the corpse of a demon, orange flowing hair like a violent fire. The body was seemingly held in place by a disembodied monstrous arm, a strange otherworldly power slowly growing towards the ceiling above.
"Ganondorf…" Zelda muttered, sure of her suspicions when finally looking at the body up close.
Relatively speaking.
"The sealing war ended here, where he was sealed away…" She spoke to herself, putting the dots together from the murals of before. "But… Then how is he still here…?" She questioned.
It was something he'd pondered too.
How was it that they were able to seal him for tens of thousands of years, yet never slay him?
Why was his body still intact?
Why had it been buried deep underneath Hyrule Castle, as if condemning the kingdom to centuries of hate and violence?
It just didn't make any sense, unless they simply had no other alternative. And yet, if that were the case, that only made his mind wonder why.
As they approached, the strange hand suddenly seemed to run out of its power, collapsing lifelessly to the ground below the body of the Demon King. A strange golden gem fell from the hand, bouncing until it landed at Zelda's feet.
He watched warily when she plucked it from the ground, pocketing the gem in her sash. She quickly forgot about it as she turned her attention toward the mummified corpse in the center of the alter.
"L-Link!" Zelda screamed, backing away as the body suddenly moved, bending backwards as if it was a boneless puppet.
Then the vacant eyes suddenly exploded to life, red orbs of pure unadulterated evil filling the once empty holes.
And those eyes stared straight at them.
In the span of a second, a burst of dark power exploded from the body, rushing to end Zelda's life.
He didn't even get a chance to tell his body to move, having launched forth to cut the evil magic in half.
But it was powerful, too powerful.
Far, far too powerful.
The magic was not destroyed by the sword of evil's bane, merely repelled. Yet even the light of legend could not stop the vile magic this demon possessed, as it suddenly wrapped itself around the blade, blotting out its light as it bore itself into the blade, choking the life from it. In that same moment, that magic swam up the blade and to him, eating into his hand and his arm, turning his clothes to dust, his skin black and lifeless.
He screamed, the pain so sudden and intense that he could do nothing to prepare for it. He stumbled backwards, legs feeling weak, the strength in his arm vanished.
He yanked the sword away from the magic, stumbling back into Zelda who caught him. "Link!! Oh goddess, Link!" She cried desperately, eyes widened in horror as she watched his arm die, mutilated by the vile magic. "Y-Your arm…" She almost couldn't believe what she was seeing, tears welling up in her eyes.
He felt his vision blur, the pain so great he almost couldn't breathe. He couldn't even feel his right arm anymore, once numb and tingling, now nothing. Yet he still stood his ground.
"Is that the sword that seals the darkness…?"
Their eyes both snapped up to the body of the Demon King, a sickening fear settling in as it began to speak in a slow ghostly manner.
"A sword that cannot even slow my magic has no chance in stopping me… To think that I had once fallen victim to its powers…" It mocked, skin and bone pulled up into a monstrous grin.
The Master Sword pulsed in an attempt to remove the gloom that had covered it's beautiful body, but in the depths of the world, it's blinding light had seemingly grown dim, and it was slowly choked out by that which it could not repel.
Neither siblings had even a moment to dwell on what was said as the Demon King launched his power upwards, his magic finally released as it began to rush forward and cover the land. The world underneath them began to shake, the floor giving way as the rocks fell into an abyss of total darkness.
"Link!" He heard Zelda cry his name, her voice terrified.
He turned to see her fall as the floor below her gave way. He didn't even hesitate, the blade of evil's bane slipping free from his hand and he leapt off the ledge after her. He reached out to grasp her hand, his eyes locked with her own fearful ones as he desperately tried to grab her.
In a flash of light, she was suddenly gone. He didn't even have time to dwell on what had happened before a magical arm appeared as if from nowhere, yanking him free from the depths and into a bright blinding light…
"Mmhmmm…" A groan slipped past his lips, his forearm draped over his forehead. He couldn't manage to conjure up the necessary energy to bring himself to open his eyes, but deep down he knew that he had to. This time around, however, he was not waking within the middle of the wilderness. He was not camping quietly underneath a tree, huddling by a fire to attempt to absorb as much warmth as possible, nor was he hiding away from a violent thunderstorm.
He was warm, wrapped safely underneath the thickness of a silky, velvet blanket. It was such a drastic difference compared to the life he'd lived up to that point that he knew not how to properly take it in. Yes, for the first time in as long as he could remember, he was waking up from within the confines of the most comfortable bed in the world.
That alone had contributed to his lethargic mood, and had greatly hindered his ability to open his eyes, and or his desire to do so. For in all his life, he could safely say that nothing quite compared to sleeping in a lavish bed after bathing the dirt and grime of weeks of battle away.
But he could say, that one thing bested that feeling. One thing alone.
That feeling? That experience he deemed far more valuable?
It was the feeling of returning to the waking world from said glorious land of dreams, with the pleasant warmth of another's body atop his own. But those dreams had not been pleasant, at least not all of them…
''Ah…'' He mused internally, realizing with a long drawn out yawn. He'd been dreaming, reliving the moments of his past that seemed ever so far away now.
He let a little groan slip past his lips as he stretched out long and hard, spine tingling from the peaks of his long pointed ears all the way down to the tips of his toes. He took in a slow, long drawn out breath, letting that fresh clean air flow through him as he willed his eyes to open.
Blond met his groggy eyes, silky golden locks cascading over his face. He cast his eyes downwards, lips slowly quirking upwards into a warm, yet constrained smile. The blankets had once again been tossed free from the mattress of his king size bed, leaving a thin layer of sheets to cover the beautiful silky skin of the woman currently lying atop him.
Her blue claws clutched lightly at his back, her naked smooth breasts pressed softly against his bare chest as she hugged him tightly in her sleep, a little mewl slipping past her lips. He couldn't stop himself as his hands came up to gently cup her sleeping cheeks, thumbs brushing lightly over the soft white scales that decorated her beautiful cheeks. Her long Hylian ears twitched cutely at his touch, long blue dear like horns atop her head glowing in response to his loving hands.
"Good morning, my Zelda…" He whispered lovingly, leaning forward to press a tender kiss to her lips in her sleep. She clutched him just a tad tighter to her body, arms seemingly attempting to pull him closer, although with little success.
However, it was the feeling of her smooth scales rubbing against his bare legs that had done the deed in rousing him from the land of dreams. For a curious glance past the valley of her bum saw not the long slender legs she had once called her own, but instead the girthy length of a white scaled dragon's tail more then three times the length of his own body.
The underside was smooth and silken against his body, the sensation as she shifted in her sleep pleasant to the touch. It was the backside that was rougher, scales hardening as they shifted to a sharp golden in color before reaching towards the large sky blue gems that protruded like spines sporadically down the length of her lower body.
That tail slowly grew smaller, the great length of which had wrapped itself around his body unconsciously before disappearing off the edge of the bed until he found the glowing tip resting somewhere up behind his head. His lips quirked upward into a happy smile as he spotted the large soft gems that protruded from the tip of her lower half. He reached up, gently grabbing it before pressing his lips to it, taking quiet pleasure in the way it shuddered gleefully underneath his loving ministrations. She mewled lovingly at his tender kisses, cheeks heating up in her sleep.
His touch had the additional effect of rousing the sleeping dragon from her trip to the land of dreams, as her eyes slowly fluttered open to reveal a pair of deep cerulean orbs. It was those eyes of hers, a swirling ocean of blue colors accentuated by her golden eyelashes that made his heart ache. For as beautiful as they were, and despite how much he loved seeing them gaze sleepily up at him every morning, it was what she said following it that made his heart clench.
Or…
Perhaps it would be more accurate to describe what she didn't say as the source behind his hidden anguish. It was those eyes of hers that reminded him so much of the woman he'd been raised to protect, the princess that he'd fought and bled for, the girl that he had sacrificed everything for in the end, the woman he married, and he couldn't save her.
Well…
Not quite.
She cooed a soft rumbling sound as she smiled sleepily up at him, slithering up his body to nuzzle her face in the crook of his neck, taking in his scent. It was the only thing that brought her comfort, the string that kept her attached to him and subsequently, what little remained of the woman he used to know.
Yes, this was the Queen of the Kingdom of Hyrule, but was no longer the mortal woman she had once been. It was all he could do to pull her back from beyond the vail of this world, and into the form of this half dragon he now lay with. She was considerably more human now then when he first found her flying through the skies of Hyrule more then one hundred times her current size, and with her upper half looking like the girl he'd known since he was but a young warrior in training, it was easy to convince himself that he'd saved her.
But he hadn't, not fully.
Mineru had been correct when she stated that no one could come back from swallowing a secret stone, that no one had ever achieved such a feat had been the backing to her hypothesis. By some miracle, he had been able to defy fate and save the woman most precious to him, willing to sacrifice everything he was just for a chance to bring her back to his world. It had worked, but not quite the way he had intended.
And now here he was, reminded of his failure as she stared at him with those deep mysterious eyes that held only some of the princess that had captured his heart all those years ago. She looked like his princess, sounded like her, but the look in her eyes told him everything. Her recollection of him, of the world around her and her understanding of it, was not quite there. Her mind had been locked away by her draconic transformation, and now in the state that she was, only hints and traits of her real self shined through with a trickling of her memories.
His eyes widened slightly as she tightened her arms around him, long thick tail swinging happily around the room, tossing the privacy of their blanket clear from the bed.
Speaking of which, one of those traits of hers was her affection for him. There was no morality, no sense of humility or dignity. Nothing but the gaze of a primal dragon woman who knew at some level that she was looking at the object she desired, and was happy to hold him close to her forever like some desired piece of treasure.
And she certainly adored collecting treasure now, and anything that shined.
She acted upon instincts and desires, not careful thoughts or a sense of morality. It was often how he found himself waking with her having slithered her way underneath his blankets without his knowing.
But despite all this, despite the fact that he could not return her to the girl she'd once been, it did little to change his love for her. This new Zelda was a primal and instinctive creature, and it was his job to care for her and all of her needs. If he couldn't stop the events that had led up to her transformation, then it was his duty to see to it that she was properly cared for and loved after the fact.
His guilt ridden heart wouldn't allow anything less.
"…Link…" She purred into his neck, sharp teeth nibbling at his sensitive flesh. He had to withhold the amused little snort that threatened to slip past his lips, the dragon having easily found his most ticklish spot, and had resorted to teasing it whenever it best suited her immediate needs.
Which in her state of mind, was always.
"Goo-…" She mused, struggling for words. "G-Good.. Good morning…" She mewled out, searching for the right words. They felt wrong on her tongue, but she used them just the same.
She was like a monster that was trying so desperately to learn to speak and act like the humans that they shared the world with, and she wasn't very convincing. But it was the way she would put her heart and soul into trying for him that made his heart swell. Complete sentences, while short currently, had been a large stepping stone for her.
And he was there to appraise and support her every step of the way.
He reached up, interlocking his fingers with her own. His right arm was covered in a short dark fur, the limb of a now entirely extinct race continued to live on through him. It was another reminder of his failure to save her, but Raru had practically beaten it into him that he could not continue on through life if he insisted on blaming himself. He understood the intentions behind the ghost's words, but some days he did struggle to adhere to them to the best of his abilities.
The princess pulled back when he took hold of her hands, staring down at him with a curious expression on her face. She blinked down at him, head tilted to the side before a long snakelike tongue slipped out and tickled his nose.
He couldn't stop the quiet chuckle this time, eyes scrunching up in happiness as she coxed a laugh from the man.
Yes, although the Zelda he knew was no more, this new one was just as rambunctious as the previous. The difference being that she was far more likely to act on any of her silly desires.
She giggled at his expression, hands coming down to rest on his bare chest. Her fingernails had changed into long cerulean claws, and she sometimes distracted herself with drawing circles on his chest, or tracing the lines of his plentitude of scars.
Yes, she was very playful in the mornings. But he also knew that if he did not get up now, he would spend the rest of the day in said bed with her, and nothing of importance would get accomplished. And despite his desire to do just that, his sense of justice overwrote that selfish thought as it reminded him that there were far too many things to take care of that could not be accomplished by sleeping in…
Tiresome as that may be, especially made more difficult when her curious hands not so subtly began to make their way down his taut stomach, and towards the item of her desire that rest below his soft golden bush, already at half mast.
He sat up, arms slipping underneath her own as he pulled her into a tender embrace, her bare chest pressed against his own as he sat up. "Come on, we've got to get prepared for the day." He hummed softly, cheeks warming as she leaned forward to nuzzle his neck once more, inhaling a deep breath of his scent.
He moved to stand, carrying the dragon woman from the confines of their bed. She'd gained a considerable weight since her transformation, but he could not blame her, for her draconic body was indeed large. It was good, however, that he was so strong. For as one such as he, his princess felt like doll within his arms. And if there was one thing he had gleaned from her rather clingy nature, it was her desire to be carried by him.
It was his strength that brought her comfort in a way that she wished she could describe.
And he hoped that one day she would.
Her lower half would've likely dragged across the castle floor as he walked towards the washroom were it not for her instinctual urge to coil around him akin to an oversized and overtly affectionate snake. It was indeed silly if one were to stumble upon them in such a state, but his more dire concern in that hypothetical situation would be their current state of undress…
Scandalous could be a word used to describe it, but it was something his precious draconic Queen no longer seemed to mind. It had almost caused him numerous problems already, but he'd been vigilant enough thus far to avoid that mishap.
Although he couldn't be too careful. Despite the fact that they were king and queen, it didn't mean they could wander the halls of the castle naked. Something he had to fight the dragon over numerous occasions.
The comfort of the bed was left behind as he carried her off towards the washroom, the spacious inner chambers of the castle having somehow survived the disastrous calamity relatively unscathed. The inner chambers of the king and queen's room held many luxuries, including a large indoor bath and viewing window to the budding castle town down below. Placed high up as it was, it provided all the necessary privacies he could ask for, while blessing him with a beautiful view.
And with a dragon who insisted on staying as naked as the day she was born, it was a blessing he didn't take for granted. He had to convince her to let him dress her up whenever they would go out, and her demands certainly varied from day to day. Some mornings they were cute asks, the dragon demanded to be pet and cuddled for an extra period of time.
Something he always caved on, because there was no possibility he could deny her such a request.
Other days saw her demanding something more, sensual, repeatedly. Those were the tiring mornings, but he supposed that he had no room to complain. He felt it was the least he could do for her, after all.
The dragon girl pouted up at him when he set her down in the tub, irritated at the sudden lack of warmth and physical affection. That pout was replaced with a squeak of surprise when he opened a valve door at the edge of the bath, warm water rushing in. Thanks to the presence of rubies in the water, the bath was always warm and ready for them.
He smiled absentmindedly as he walked around the bath, grabbing a bar of soap as well as a handful of towels. She was a big girl, after all, one towel simply wouldn't cut it. He slipped into bath in behind her, sliding intimately up against her behind as he took soap in one hand, lathering it up before he began to gently scrub it over her body.
She mewled a pleased little sound as his rough calloused hands cleaned her sensitive body, scrubbing away the dirt and grime she'd accumulated over the last day. He didn't leave anything untouched, deft, skillful fingers gliding over her skin until he left it a radiant sparkling clean.
Her eyes fluttered as his fingers came up to begin undoing the knots in her hair, a brush in one hand, while the other worked meticulously to make sure he didn't yank on any particularly nasty tangles. She was sure she was going to fall asleep underneath his tender care of her body, before he'd finished with her hair.
Then she felt him press up against her from behind, chin coming to rest on her silky smooth shoulder and his hands snaked over her narrow waistline, finding home on the taut smoothness of her unblemished belly. She mewled lowly as he massaged her sensitive skin, his fingers sneaking down to grab hold of her endlessly wide draconic hips, thumbs brushing against the mixed line that separated her skin from her scales.
From the way she melted in his arms, he'd long come to know that it was one of her most sensitive spots, especially when it was his fingers roaming her naked body. It helped distract her from her clouded mind, and the painful memories that ailed her. She didn't want to think about them anymore, about her friends from ten thousand years ago, about everyone she'd come to know that had all since passed. She didn't want to think about the calamity, about Ganon, about royalty…
She just…
S-She just wanted to think about her Link now, only him.
Her Link that slept with her at night and held her close to him when she was afraid.
Her Link that whispered sweet nothings to her when she was feeling sad, who kissed her neck when she wanted to feel happy, who brushed her hair like her mother had when she was a child.
It was her Link that took care of her now, did everything she asked of him, n-never got mad when she messed something up, didn't raise his voice against her if she did something wrong…
It was her Link that held her close at night and told her that everything was going to be alright, that despite her struggles and her affliction, he would never leave her side. That not even her transformation into a mismatched dragon woman could or would change his love for her.
It was that Link that she wanted to care about, and nothing else mattered to her. Perhaps that made her greedy, but she didn't care. It had been sacrificed alongside her old self, and the creature she was now desired what she wanted, and wasn't hesitant to seek it out.
She pressed back against him, sharp rows of teeth coming to take little nibbles from his neck, her eyes fluttering closed as he massaged her tense lower half. His cheeks flushed lightly at her affectionate nibbles, feeling her sucking his neck lightly. He knew it was another mark she was leaving on him that was certainly going to have to be covered over before leaving the privacy of their chambers.
He smiled a genuine little look, blowing out a little happy sigh. "How's my Zelda feeling now?" He cooed gently in her ear, the long pointed appendage twitching underneath his breath.
She mewled happily, eyes scrunching closed as her lips pulled up into a smile that lifted his heart. He found his eyes closing as he pulled her into a firm, and almost desperate hug from behind.
He was kept awake at night by nightmares that taunted him with realities where he failed to even get her back in the first place, and times like this, when he was feeling a bit more down then usual, he just needed to hold onto her…
If for no other reason then to convince himself that she was real, then to tell her without words that he was there for her, he was always going to be by her side, and nothing short of the ancient goddess's intervention would ever separate him from her.
Tears stinging at the corners of his deep blue eyes, he smiled a tired smile. "I love you Zelda." He breathed lowly into her neck, eyes closed tightly.
He found his eyes slowly widening when he felt the scale covered hands come up to cup his cheeks reminiscent of the way he'd done to her prior. Her expression was sad, worried even.
And the tears that threatened to pour down her face were new. "D-Don't…" She purred in an inhuman tongue. "Don't c-cry…" She urged meekly, easily picking up on his emotional state. His breath hitched when her white scaled thumbs brushed his tears away in a soul tinglingly familiar way. "I'm h-here for you…" His eyes widened like he'd been struck, before they softened with a newfound sense of love, a heartfelt smile gracing his features.
"I know." He breathed happily, pressing his lips to her own, something the draconic woman gladly returned with a wonderful passion…

The other option is that I make it into another larger story about Link having to balance taking care of his horny dragon wife Queen while doubling as both the hero of the land and its new king, balancing having to take care of Zelda who's pretty much like Nezuko at this point but obviously an adult, while trying to help people and rule the land. Shenanigans ensue a bit but it's sort of serious as well as light and fluffy, link having to help the people, convince them that their queen is fine but suffering from a condition etc etc…
Listen, I want to do that…
