At the same time things were getting heated back at the ship, things were heated on the island, but not in a good way. Davis and Kari were pretty mad at each other. When Davis found out how Kari really treated him in the past, he was pretty upset and it was like how he saw Kari was shattered. Kari got pretty upset because Davis said some pretty hurtful things to her. The tension between the two was pretty strong, and it still is. Kari stepped out of the cave. She stretched out her arms and tried to wake up the rest of her body as it was another day they were stuck. However, she looked to the side and saw Davis just sitting there.
"Hey." Davis said like he didn't care she was there. He's still pretty upset over their argument. Kari didn't even bother talking to him. She just walked past him. "Where are you going?"
"Anywhere that's not here. I'm going to look around the island to see if there's anything we can get out of here quicker." Kari said. She was clearly still mad at him and doesn't even want to be around here. "So that I can get back to T.K." She only said that to upset him, but she didn't even get a reaction. She just kept walking, and it doesn't look like either of them are in a forgiving mood.
...
Kari
Kari wasn't really looking for something they can use to get off the island. She just didn't want to be around Davis. That argument between them was still hanging over her head. Davis said things to her that she couldn't get over.
"I can't believe Davis would say those things to me." Kari said. "How could he say those hurtful things to me? He really is a jerk." She tried not to think about it, but that was really all she could think about. Maybe because of guilt. As she closed her eyes and tried to stop thinking about it, she thought about some of the things he said and how true they were. It had Kari look back on some of her past actions. "Then again, why did I do some of those things to him? Who am I to play with his feelings like that? How could I play with his feelings like that?" She wondered about that, but now she was arguing with herself. "No. He still said some hurtful things that were uncalled for." Kari thought she had every right to be upset, but she soon felt tears forming in her eyes. "Wait. Why am I crying?" She didn't understand what was happening to her. Then, she heard rustling in the plants and assumed it was him. "Davis, please just leave me alone right now." She turned to him, but it wasn't Davis. She looked and saw that it was a type of monkey known as a Japanese macaque. Normally, Kari thought it would have been cute. However, the monkey didn't even look friendly with how it was gritting its teeth at her. "Uh... Nice monkey."
"AAAAWWWWWW! AWWWWWWWW!" The monkey screamed at her and Kari ran for it. That monkey was not acting normal or friendly. When a wild animal like a monkey, when it would be more curious, shows aggressive behavior like that for no reason, it's usually a sign that it might have somethin like rabies. Kari tried running for it, but the monkey was chasing after her. Kari tried to run from the monkey, but she ended up tripping again. She turned to the monkey and it was about to attack her. Kari screamed in terror, but she was actually saved. Davis showed up and tackled the monkey before it reached her.
"Davis!" Kari called as she was scared for him now. Davis began to wrestle with the monkey, but the monkey's aggressive behavior made things dangerous for him. Davis tried to hold it down, but the monkey kept flailing around with its hands and feet scratching at Davis. Davis did toss the monkey aside, but it bounced back up and charged at Davis. It jumped back at him, but Davis tried to keep it back. As it tried to hold him back, Davis fell back with him trying to keep the monkey away. As it howled and screamed at him, it continued to scratch at him.
"Dirty ape!" Davis shouted. This might border on animal cruelty, but it's in self-defense. Davis actually punched the monkey right in the face. After that, he kept hitting the monkey around until he was able to toss it away and have it hit against a tree. Davis thought he had it, but the monkey was getting back up. Davis tried to find something he could use until his hand grabbed a large rock. It was the only way. When the monkey came at Davis once again, he took the rock and smashed it over the monkey's head like a hammer. He hit it one more time for good measure. The monkey wasn't getting back up after that, especially when they saw a red stain forming around its head.
"Davis..." Kari whispered as she felt like her breath was taken away out of sheer shock. She can't believe she just witnessed that. When Davis stood and turned to her, he had scratches all over him, but she saw things differently. He looked so strong and brave like a warrior. Kari didn't know how to explain it, but he just looked so different to her and she was actually attracted to it. He really looked like a strong warrior, but not anymore when he collapsed on the ground. "Davis!" She hurried over to him and tried to help him. "Davis! Davis! Stay with me!" She called. He appeared to be badly hurt, but he was still alive. However, Kari needs to do something fast.
...
Davis
When Davis regained his senses, he felt like he had a bad hangover. Everything seemed dark until he opened his eyes and saw he was back in the cave and he could feel the warmth of a fire.
"Oh thank goodness! You're awake!" He looked up and could see Kari and realized she had his head resting against her legs. Kari had a look of relief on her face. "I was really worried."
"Wha... Ow!" Davis said as he felt he was in pain.
"Easy. Don't try to move. You need some rest." Kari said. Davis took a look at himself and saw he was without a shirt and had bandages around him. "That monkey did a number on you. You're lucky it didn't bite you. That could have been really dangerous. There was something clearly wrong with that monkey."
"Yeah... It was on something." Davis moaned. "Am I going to be okay?"
"I think so. I did the best I could, but nothing appears to be too serious." Kari said. "Although, I had to go through a good amount we had in the first-aid kit. You might still need some treatment with those injuries."
"How long have I been out of it?" Davis questioned.
"A while... The sun is already going down." Kari said. "Just try and rest for a little while. I'll try to treat those injuries some more after you get some more rest."
"I'll be fine." Davis said. "At least now I can say I wrestled with a monkey."
"Not only that, but you went out and killed the poor creature." Kari said.
"Poor creature? That thing was going to kill you." Davis said.
"And it could have killed you. Look what it already did to you." Kari said.
"I didn't think you actually cared." Davis said. Those words annoyed Kari. She was tempted to smack one of his injuries for that, but all she really did was slid her arms tighter and carefully around him.
"Don't start. Just get some rest." Kari asked as she really didn't want to fight. Davis could see the sad look on her face and could see she was actually scared. Not one to kick someone when they're down, Davis just let things be and tried to relax. He closed his eyes and just tried not move around so much. As he was resting, Kari took this opportunity to really see what Davis has become. She's starting to think that he's really changed from the boy she knew, and now he actually saved her at the risk of his own life. She couldn't help but admire what he did and who he is now.
...
Later
It was already night, but Kari still had to keep treating Davis. She managed to get him to sit against the wall and tried treating his injuries. She removed the bandages and applied some iodine to the wounds, but there was another problem.
"Aw! I thought you were trying to help me, not hurt me more!" Davis complained.
"Hold still! You're making this more difficult than it needs to be!" Kari said as she tried applying some more, but the stinging sensation that came from it kept caused Davis to jump.
"Ow! That's starting to hurt more than the scratches!" Davis complained.
"If you stop moving, it wouldn't hurt so much! Now take it like a man and just hold still!" Kari said as she pushed Davis back down. Seeing that bossy side of Kari compelled Davis to do what she said. Trying not to move, he tried to endure the stinging sensation he felt as Kari tried treating his wounds. As she did, she had to look at Davis without his shirt on. As much as she tried to stay focus on the injuries, she couldn't stop herself from admiring how strong Davis really is. "Thank you for what you did. I wasn't so sure you would come to my rescue. I thought you would have stayed mad."
"Well, I heard howling and screaming. I didn't know what was going on so I hurried." Davis said. "I might be mad, but if you were in danger, I had to do something." Kari was impressed he would do that despite everything. Suddenly, he began to chuckle.
"What?" Kari questioned.
"I'm laughing at the irony." Davis said. "I just realized you had to strip me to treat my injuries. I finally get you to take my clothes off, but I was unconscious, and you probably never would have done that before."
"Be quiet. All I did was remove your shirt. It was nothing." Kari said, but Davis kept chuckling. "Davis, I'm being serious. I was really scared when you went down like that. I was afraid you were really hurt. Please don't make a comment about how surprised you are that I do care because I really do." She claimed as she finished putting the last of the iodine on.
"I just...don't understand. Why would you do that to me? It never seemed like you. You always cared about how others feel." Davis said.
"Honestly... I don't have a good answer." Kari said as she came to regret her past actions. "Maybe I thought those feelings you had were just because you admired Tai and I was his little sister."
"That wasn't why. It was also because you were fun, kind, and incredible to me." Davis claimed.
"But I never took them serious." Kari said. "I never realized how much you were really there for me. Even now, when I was so mad when you are the one who had every reason to be mad at me, you risked yourself for me. No one, not even T.K. did something like that for me. Why did you come to help me when you were so mad?"
"I was, but... Feelings like what I had for you don't just go away overnight." Davis said. "I was mad, but I still had to try and help you." Kari hated herself more. Davis has been a far better person than she realized. No matter what, he was there for and she never even knew.
"Davis, back at the boat, before I fell into the ocean, I told you to let me go so you wouldn't fall in with me." Kari said. "You said you never will. You didn't mean you wouldn't let me fall in, did you?"
"No." Davis admitted. "You were the first friend I ever made. You were the first girl I fell for. You were there for me when I needed it, and I wanted to return the favor. That's why it bothered me so much when you wanted to be around T.K. more. It was like you were my light. No matter how much I wanted to let go, I just simply couldn't."
"I mean that much to you?" Kari said. She never thought she would mean so much to someone like that. Not even T.K. said that to her. Kari was almost moved to tears from that.
"Hey. Don't do that. I don't like seeing you like that." Davis said as he cleaned them away. Kari couldn't help it anymore. She cupped Davis' face and actually kissed him. Davis surely didn't expect that. He thought about pushing her aside, but he's been waiting for that for too long. The two of them stayed like that for a moment as Kari felt an attraction towards him that she hasn't felt towards anyone, not even T.K. When the two of them pulled away, they just stared at each other. "What was that about?"
"I... I don't really know. It just felt right." Kari said. "At the time, when I first started dating T.K., I thought that was right, but this feels different. He and I still feel the same as we always have, but with you... Maybe... Maybe it's time we finally..." Kari was actually considering leaving T.K. to be with Davis. Davis would have loved nothing more than that, but it's because he loved her that he can't let her do this.
"We can't." Davis said.
"What?" Kari said.
"Kari, if we started something now, it will only cause trouble when we get back." Davis said. "People are probably thinking something went on between us, and do we really want to prove them right?"
"You mean T.K.? I can tell him the truth. He'll understand." Kari said.
"Maybe, but it will still cause trouble." Davis said. "Kari, whatever happens here can't happen much further when we leave the island."
"But... I almost lost you now. I don't want that again. Not after I realized all of this." Kari said.
"You won't. I don't plan on going anywhere." Davis said.
"But what if I want to be with you?" Kari said. "After all that I put you through, I want to take it all back. I wanted to have realized sooner the kind of person you are, the kind of horrible person I was, and make things right."
"I think you just did." Davis said. "Kari, if things hadn't happen the way they did, do you think you would have felt any different?" Kari thought that over for a moment.
"Yes because the Davis I know never gives up." Kari said.
"Well, I guess we'll just have to see what will happen when we do get off this island and see if you still feel that way or not. I'm not going anywhere without my friends by my side." Davis said. "Just promise me you won't look back with regrets, and I'll promise to stay by your side when you need it." Kari could promise that. Now, no matter what happens, they'll have each other's backs. Since this is all sort of fresh and just now happening, he can't let Kari just jump right into things. That's what he usually does. "That being said, I do have something like a...compromise. As long as we stay on the island, we might as well enjoy things. Do you trust me?" That was a big question now. After everything, does she?
"More than I ever have." Kari claimed. That was all he needed now as he kissed her once again and Kari just let things happen. Davis slowly slid his hand up to try and expose her. Kari could see that and helped out as she was opening up his pants.
"Wait." Davis said. "I have a better idea." He claimed as he got back up. He removed his pants, but then he grabbed what they've been sleeping in. He thought it would be much better outside on a clear beautiful night. He placed all of it down off to the side of the cave and wants this to be done in a beautiful scene rather than a cave. When he went to get Kari, he saw she was already there. What he didn't expect was to see her stripped down to just her pink panties and kept herself covered. Still rather shy, but wants this. With the moonlight, Davis thought she looked even more beautiful. Davis walked right over to her and grabbed her waist. Kari was always shy when it came to being intimate since she's still rather new to it, and always felt awkward, but Davis gave her a sense of security. It felt different with him. That's why she removed her arms and placed her hands around his neck. Once the two of them kissed each other once again, Davis slid his hands so that he could hoist her up. She got her legs around him and he carried her right over to the spot. He gently placed her down and the two of them never broke away from each other. As Davis began to plant kisses along her neck and slid his hands around her body, Kari felt shivers running through her.
"Hu... Hu..." She took deep breaths from what Davis was doing to her and she wanted to hold him close. As Davis continued with that, she wanted to know how much of man Davis really was. She slid her hands down his body until she reached his boxers. She slid her hand inside and could feel what he was packing. As she tried to examine it, Davis grabbed a hold her hand himself. This was where the compromise came in. Davis lowered his boxers down just enough and then stretched out Kari's panties. Once he had that, he slid himself so that a piece of him was in the space between Kari and her clothes. He felt like he doesn't have the right to go much further than that. As much as Kari wanted a deeper connection, this still felt rather good. Once everything was positioned just right, Davis held down her hands with his and started to move against her with Kari feeling what was rubbing against her, rubbed but not impale. Despite the difference, Kari still enjoyed the feeling. Davis continued to push against her as they pressed their foreheads against each other, tight hold on the other's hands, and could feel their breath against each other.
"Kari... I'm about to release..." Davis said, but Kari didn't mind what was going to come out. She just kept her hold until Davis released a big sigh of relief with Kari feeling something squirting against her bare skin. It actually felt soothing to her, and she didn't want it to end just yet. She had them roll over so that she was straddling him. Once they were like that, Kari sat up and continued what Davis was doing. All Davis did was just lay there and enjoy as he placed his hands over her waist. Still looking so beautiful in the moonlight, Davis just simply enjoyed the show. Kari was enjoying the view herself as Davis actually looked rather handsome in the moonlight himself. Not to mention the wounds he had resembled scars and she didn't realize till just now how attractive that look can be. As she traced her hands over his chest, she continued to have "something" rub against her lower region until she couldn't take it anymore. She let out a moan as she felt something flowed right out of her and over Davis. Once that happened, Kari lowered herself down and planted another meaningful kiss on Davis before she made herself comfortable against him and tried to sleep right on top of her. Once she was like that, Davis took the blanket and covered both of them with it. With them now like this, he felt like all his troubles and problems were finally gone and he could just enjoy being with her. They don't know what's going to happen to them after this, but right now they just want to enjoy being with each other.
