AN: Almost reached the end, and since this about the point where the story this was based off was at, I'll just say it. The fanfic this story was based off of is Castaways by Dynasty Black. There's a censored version here, and an uncensored version on mediaminer, but both versions were never really finished. I intend to finish mine. Although looking back, they're not so similar and do seem like different stories.
"It's nice to be out at the sea once again." Yolei said as she, Cody, and Ken were enjoying their time on the cruise once again. Now that it's back out at sea, people were happy to get back to what they paid for. Still, they are rather worried about Davis and Kari still being out there. There's still no word on them, and it's been days. They say no news is good news, and they're really hoping that's true. Until they know more, they can just try to continue to enjoy the cruise and do hope they hear something about them soon. "Is it me, or is there something about being at sea that makes these pancakes taste great?"
"I'm pretty sure it's you." Cody said as the three of them enjoyed breakfast together.
"Hey, where are T.K. and Mina? I thought we were going to meet up with us by now?" Ken questioned.
"Things did get pretty crazy last night. Maybe they're still sleeping." Yolei said.
"I still can't believe T.K. did what you said he did. I've seen him get furious before, but it sounds like this was something completely different." Cody said. "Hopefully, he can keep avoiding that guy."
"No worries. Thankfully, a bunch of people reported what happened to security. Especially since that guy apparently has a history of aggressive behavior and harassment." Ken said.
"I'm sure everything is fine and they're on their way here right now." Yolei said, but she doesn't know the half of it.
...
T.K. and Mina
"Woo. That morning round wasn't really much of a quicky. We were suppose to meet with the others for breakfast by now." T.K. said as he and Mina stepped out in the hall with him trying to do his buttons.
"Speak for yourself." Mina said as she thought it was over too quick, and already got something good in the morning. Both of them were able to get dressed and try to straighten themselves out, but they were a mess. Last night, the two of them let their feelings take them over and acted upon it in a lustful and loving way. Now that it was the next day, T.K. wishes he could go out there and act like Mina is the most special girl ever, but he can't.
"Mina, I really enjoyed our time together, but I don't know what to do if others find out." T.K. said.
"Remember what I said. I'm not going to be mad if you choose to stay with Kari. We can go our separate ways when the cruise is over and never see each other again." Mina said, but T.K. isn't sure he wants that. "Until then..." She kissed him once again, but T.K. wish he could have more. "...we'll just try to make the most of it for as long as we can. We'll just have to act like everything is normal." T.K. wants there to be more, but he's afraid he's going to hurt someone. That's the last thing he wants. Not to mention that he doesn't know if he can even keep what happened a secret from Kari.

The Island
The day was starting for Davis himself. He could feel the sun shining down on him. He was beginning to wake up, but he could still feel some pain. He also felt a weight upon him. When he looked down, he saw Kari was sleeping on him without clothes on either them. The events of last night started flashing back to him and he just couldn't stop smiling. He tried not to move around so much to wake her up and just wanted to hold her, but she woke up herself. Davis wasn't sure how she would react because he thought that maybe the feelings from last night subsided. Instead, she actually kissed him.
"Morning." Kari said.
"I was afraid for a second that what happened last night was over and you were going to act uncomfortable." Davis said.
"I don't think last night is ever going to be forgotten, especially after the promises." Kari claimed as she tried to remain cozy with him with Davis holding her close. They both agreed that as long as they stay on this island, they're going to enjoy their time together. They both just wanted to stay like that for a little while longer. Once they had their fill, they both got back up and changed into their regular clothes.
"Not that I'm complaining about what happened last night, but I feel like I'm in serious need of a shower." Davis said. Understandable since he's been wearing the same clothes for days straight and things did get a little...messy yesterday.
"Sorry about your shirt. It's all torn up because of what happened." Kari said as she handed it to him.
"Don't worry about it. You work with what you got." Davis said as he put it on.
"Maybe we could go for a dip in the ocean. These clothes need washing. Maybe we could..." Kari tried to say, but she was blushing and could barely get the words.
"You little she-rascal. What did I bring out last night?" Davis questioned with amusement.
"A side of me I never knew that feels a little more confident." Kari said as the two held each other close and started kissing again. As they were, Davis could hear a strange sound.
"Please tell me that sound is something of yours vibrating." Davis said as he was getting creative ideas.
"What?" Kari questioned. She didn't get it until the sound was getting louder and closer. "Wait. That sounds like a propeller!" If that sound really is what she thinks it is, it's just what they need. They looked around in the sky and spotted it. There was a helicopter and it was nearby.
"It's a helicopter! That's our ticket out of here! Where's the flare gun?!" Davis said as he hurried inside and tried to get it before the helicopter was too far. Kari was glad that they were about to be rescued, but that also means that the time between the two of them has to end when it just began. "Got it!" Davis hurried out once he got it and was about to fire, but then he noticed the look on Kari's face. "What's wrong?"
"Davis, you will keep your promise, won't you? You'll continue to be there for me?" Kari said.
"Yeah. I will." Davis said. Kari doesn't want what she has with Davis to end, but she understood what Davis was trying to tell her last night. They don't want there to be any trouble, but can Kari really go through with this? After realizing how much Davis really means to her and how much she means to him, can they really just ignore what happened on the island? Kari will find out soon enough for Davis fired the flare and their time on the island is finally coming to an end.

The Ship
"Hey, guys! We're here!" T.K. said as he and Mina joined the others for breakfast.
"There you two are, but you're late. We already finished our breakfast." Yolei said.
"Sorry. We...overslept." Mina said as the two of them tried to act like everything was normal.
"Are you two okay? You both look exhausted and like you got dressed in a hurry. You didn't have to hurry just for us." Cody said as they both did look a little lousy.
"I think I know." Ken said with both T.K. and Mina feeling like they were busted. "It was tough to get any sleep last night after what happened. You don't have to worry about that guy from the other night. Security got a hold of him." T.K. and Mina nervously laugh as they were afraid for a moment they were caught, but relaxed and tried to act casual.
"You aren't the only ones that didn't get much sleep." Yolei said. "I overheard someone talking about how they constantly heard a few strange sounds and was hardly sleeping themselves. They almost called in about a noise complaint. Sounds like a couple was restless last night."
"Hahaha! That's crazy!" Mina said as her nerves made her act less casual with T.K. having a big grin on his face. Obviously the couple was them. "So, what looks good to eat?" She said as they tried to divert the attention to something else.
"I don't know. I doubt anything would be good as..." T.K. quickly covered his own mouth as he almost made a comment about how sweet Mina felt to him. "My mother's breakfast! She makes great waffles, and there's this one diner I found for breakfast. It holds great food, and I get some work done in there." That's what he claimed in hopes that it worked. Unfortunately for them, all three of their friends are rather smart, especially when one is aiming to be a detective and the other aiming to be a lawyer.
"Okay, what's going on with you two? You're acting rather strange. Is there something someone would like to tell us?" Ken said. All three of them were rather suspicious. Neither of them knew what to say...until T.K. noticed something.
"Wait. Do you all hear something?" T.K. said as they could all hear a strange sound. All of them went to see what the sound was until they spotted a helicopter up in the sky.
"What's a helicopter doing all the way out here?" Yolei questioned.
"I think it's coming down. The helipad is on the back of the ship." Mina said. "What would it be doing here? Unless..." They wondered about that until a thought occurred to them. There's only one reason why a helicopter would be all the way out here. When they all thought about that, all five of them hurried as fast as they could to the helipad and had to see for themselves.
...
The Helipad
The helicopter was cleared to land on the ship and landed right down on the ship. Davis shooting the flare worked. The helicopter saw the flare when it was shot into the sky, was able to land, and picked up Davis and Kari. Once they told the pilots what happened, they were able to take them back to their cruise ship. A lot of people gathered to see who was on the helicopter and could see it was Davis and Kari.
"We're back." Davis said as he felt so relieved to be back on the ship. He held out his hand and helped Kari out of the helicopter. After being on that island for so long, they both felt like a fish out of water. It was a little weird to be back among civilization after trying to survive for the past few days. Once people realized they were the missing passengers, they all cheered and clapped as they were all glad to have them back and to see they were all rescued and well. As much as Kari did enjoy her time with Davis, she felt glad to be back among civilization and will soon be able to go home.
"Davis! Kari!" All of them looked and saw their friends trying to make their way through the crowd. They were all glad to see each other again and to have the gang back together. All five of them ran up to those two and their were hugs going all around. Mina jumped right into Davis' arms with T.K. lifting Kari and spinning her around. The others joined in as their hugs everywhere for both of them and they were all glad to be together again.
"I'm so glad to see you're both back and alive!" Yolei said until she noticed Davis' body. "Very happy about the alive part. Davis, what happened to you?"
"I wrestled a crazy monkey with it acting like it was on steroids." Davis said.
"Fine, don't tell us." Yolei said as she didn't believe that.
"But we're fine. We were safe on an island the whole time." Kari said. "I was starting to wonder if we would ever really get off that island."
"What about you? Are you hurt or anything?" T.K. questioned.
"What happened when the ship was hit by the storm?" Cody said.
"I'm fine. Davis made sure nothing happened to me." Kari claimed. "In fact, Davis risked his own life to save me. His quick thinking is what allowed us to survive that storm and made to an island where we were safe the whole time."
"You protected her the whole time? You really did all of that?" T.K. said as he was actually impressed with him. "Thanks, Davis. I'm just glad you're both okay." He claimed and then hugged Kari once again. He seemed really happy to see her again, and that hit Davis pretty hard. As much as he wanted to be with Kari, he had to let her go again. He's been wanting to get over these feelings and it looks like he might be able to let go of the anger. At least he knows now Kari will cherish what they had. After seeing that, Davis needed to be alone.
"Davis? Where are you going?" Ken questioned. Mina knew what was going on with him. She felt the same with T.K. She had him and now it seems like she's losing him. Having an idea of the situation himself, Ken followed after him. As Kari held on to T.K., Kari saw Davis disappeared in the crowd and seeing him go like that ached her heart when she wanted him to stay.
...
Davis
Davis went to the front of the ship as he just needed a moment to himself. He walked over to the front of the boat and stared out at the sea. That's just how he was before he and Kari were in that mess. He found himself already missing that island and missing his time with Kari, but he doesn't want there to be any turmoil between his friends if they knew what happened. All he can do is just let her be now and whatever happens will happen at his point. As he stared out at what was ahead, he thought about what future has for him now.
"You should really get those injuries checked." Ken said as he joined his best friend. "You don't want to get an infection."
"I'm made of tough stuff. I'll be fine." Davis said.
"I don't think now is the time to be proud." Ken said. "Isn't this how we were when this mess started? Isn't this where we left off."
"Close." Davis said. "Before, I was hating how things were. I was angry that I could never be with Kari. That anger might not be fully gone, but it's not as strong as it was before. Now, I'm just trying to figure out where to go from here?" Ken thought that was rather interesting for him to say. Davis certainly appeared to be in a much better mood than he has been lately.
"Davis, did something happen with you and Kari?" Ken asked, but Davis couldn't even tell his best friend about it.
"Let's just say that I think maybe I can start getting some closure with how things are. They'll be better than they have been lately." Davis said.
"That's good. Constantly being in a bad mood was never you." Ken said. Now that Ken says it, Davis does feel a bit more like himself than he has been before the cruise. Even so, Davis knows he has to try and get through his life if that means Kari won't be his. At least he now knows how much he means to Kari and they're closer now than they have been in a long time. He just wished it didn't feel over so soon.
"Ken, take my advice." Davis said. "If you really love Yolei, let her know that. You and she are pretty great together, and not a lot of people are capable of getting what you have. You two are really lucky that you two were able to get together out of all the people in the world you could have been with. Don't forget that, don't take it for granted." Ken could see that even though Davis wasn't so angry anymore, he was still hurting inside.
"Come here." Ken said as he put his arm around Davis and comforted his friend. It's been a long and crazy cruise, but now there's only one destination in mind for the gang: home.
