It has been a month since Tim broke up with her. And she has been a mess since then. She tried to hide it. No one should notice how bad she felt. How this brake up destroyed her. Tim was completely different form all the relationships she had in the past. At some point Lucy thought he was the person she was going to spend the rest of her life with. She could not remember the exact moment she fell for Tim but once she realized she knew there was no way back. This man was special. She realized that when she first met him. He was fascinating. At first her feelings where professional soon they turned into friendship and then into love. The first time she felt something different for Tim was when he pulled her out of that barrel. But she kept telling herself, that she was just beyond relieved and thankful that he saved her. But those feelings didn't go away. They said and they got stronger. They got more intensive, and they turned into love. Then the night after Jackson died, she stayed with him. Again, he was there when she needed him. He held her while she was crying. That was the moment she realized what those feelings truly meant. It was love. She loved him and she wanted him. And now she was sitting all alone on her couch eating ice cream. There was a little voice in her head telling her, that there was something happening. She wasn't gaining wait because she was eating so many buckets of ice cream, that she wasn't feeling unwell because of all that sugar she was living off. Nevertheless, she wasn't ready yet to become clear about that. She wasn't ready yet to find out if she really was pregnant.

The next day she went to her shift smiling like she always was. Hiding how she really felt. Hiding behind her smile how scared she really was. It was hard riding with Tim. It was hard to see everything she lost. Everything he threw away. Yet she smiled. That was her. She always smiled no matter what happened. She was always fine. That's how she's been since she was a teenager. Hiding her feelings from everyone. Always being that quirky, funny friend. Never showing what's behind her mask.

Right when she was about to leave Nolan asked her "Wanna come over for a beer and dinner?" He looked with a smile. She took a deep breath she didn't want to, but she knew it would be good for her. Company would make her feel better. So, she said yes.

They ordered food and Nolan handed Lucy a beer. Right when she tried to take a sip, she got sick. Lucy jumped form her chair and run to the bathroom.

"Lucy, what's wrong?" asked Nolan looking concord. He got up too and followed her. Through the closed bathroom door, he could hear that she was throwing up. He just stayed in the hallway till she opened the door. Her eyes looked watery; her skin was pale. He saw that Lucy was about to cry. He just looked at her. She leaned against the wall and slowly sliding down on the floor. Nolan did so too. Sitting next to her he put his hand on her shoulder. "Wanna talk about it?" Looking down she mumbled: "I think I am pregnant."

Nolan looked at her: "Did you take a test?" Lucy shook her head. "Okay then we are going to buy one now," he said while getting up. She looked up to him, took a deep breath and nodded. "Wanna come with me or wait?" "Can I stay?" She was almost crying. He looked at her, nodded.

Lucy was sitting on the couch. Staring at that stupid beer. That stupid beer that finally made her say aloud what that little voice in her head has been telling for the past couple of days. It felt like an eternity until Nolan finally came back with the test. He handed it to her. She took it and locked herself up in the bathroom. After two minutes she opened the door. Nolan could already see the answer in her face. "I am pregnant," mumbled Lucy and started to cry.
