Death on his Side
It has been a few days since Ominis has been under the housing of Carmine Falcone in his mansion on the outskirts of Gotham. Throughout that time, he has not once stepped out, rather choosing to stay in and study this new world. This Earth was a strange world, filled with technology that somehow seemed both advanced, yet primitive at the same time.
This world is powerful, yet divided.
Multiple nations, religions, and ideals were constantly at odds with each other. Not to mention the constant wars this world has seen over the centuries. Still though, these people wouldn't even last a day if they were to go to war with the Sith of his era, never mind the era of Darth Revan or even Darth Malgus.
So, it was the perfect world for a Sith to just rise up to power and take control. Still, in order to do that, he needed to know all he can about this world.
He spent quite a bit of time in Falcone's study room and private library, reading about all kinds of information he could muster. Strength in the dark side is vital for a Sith, but knowledge can be just as powerful. He learned about this world's history, the various countries within each of the continents, the key political figures that govern each nation, and, most importantly, those that protect this world.
"Tell me about them again." Ominis said as he sat in the study on a couch with his arms crossed, with Falcone sitting in an arm chair on his right.
"I told you about them three times already." Falcone said with his eyebrow raised. "Are you sure you want to hear it again."
"Yes." Ominis said firmly with a nod. "I want to make sure that there are no details left and I know everything I could."
"Alright." Falcone said as he picked up a remote and pushed a button. A display screen came down from the ceiling and a projected popped up to display an image on it the screen. The image was the picture of the original seven members of the Justice League and their battle against these large creatures called Appellaxians. "The Justice, at first, consisted of seven members: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, and Aquaman."
"Their abilities?" Ominis asked, his eyes never leaving the screen.
"Superman hails from the destroyed planet of Krypton, and is the last of his kind. Being on Earth granted him extraordinary powers, such as flight, super strength, heat vision, x-ray vision, and he's virtually indestructible." Carmine explained as the image changed to Superman lifting a plane. "A god amongst men."
'He'll be the most difficult.'Ominis thought to himself as his eyes narrowed at the image of who the public called the Man of Steel.
"Batman hails here in Gotham, so if you're gonna make a name here, chances are you're gonna run into him eventually." Carmine said as the image changed to the Dark Knight himself. "He doesn't have any powers, but he's still dangerous, maybe even the most dangerous. He's a master at hand-to-hand combat, has gadgets for every situation, and is a master tactician."
"The Sith would probably welcome him with open arms." Ominis said after he heard that.'Hell, with that costume, he already looks like a Sith.'
"Wonder Woman is an Amazon who hails from an island of all female warriors. She's incredibly strong, has flight, and her lasso of truth forces anyone around it to tell the truth." Falcone said as the next image showed the beautiful Amazon warrior.
"That lasso is definitely gonna be difficult to overcome. Almost reminds me some of my powers." Ominis said.
"Then there's the Flash, fastest man alive. He resides mostly in Central City, and his speed is beyond incredible." Falcone said as the next image was actually a video of Flash running circles around one of his villains, Heat Wave.
"I don't have to be faster than him, I just need to be smarter." Ominis said with his eyes narrowed in focus.
"Then there's Green Lantern." The next image to appear was a man in a green outfit and had a glowing ring on it as he fought a giant robot. "His ring grants him the ability to create anything he imagines."
'My master would salivate if he had a ring with such power.'Ominis said as the possibilities were endless if he could achieve that kind of power.
"Martian Manhunter is a, as the name implies, is a Martian, meaning he comes from the planet Mars. He is super strong and flies, but he has the added bonus of shapeshifting and density control, meaning he go through solid objects." Falcone said as the next image was of the green alien flying in the air.
"Interesting. He's superior to the shapeshifters of my own galaxy." Ominis said in an impressed tone.
"And then there's Aquaman, the king of Atlantis." "Falcone said as the next image displayed a man in an orange armored suit and green pants fighting off soldiers on a ship. "He's very strong, especially even more so when he's underwater, but also he has skills in communing with sea life. Despite all this, he's not to be underestimated."
"And these are the ones that started it all?" Ominis asked as he leaned in closer.
"Correct, and over the years they've added more members." Falcone said as this image showed the Hall of Justice with the entire Justice League standing before it. "They've added Green Arrow, Black Canary, Red Tornado, Captain Atom, even another Green Lantern, and that's just to name a few."
"And there are more of these 'heroes' out there in this world than just the ones in this Justice League?" Ominis asked.
"Yes, some are public, others are more of the lone wolf variety, and let's not forget that some members of the League have their own protégés." Falcone informed as the projector turned off. "So, that's what you're up against."
"I see." Ominis said as he leaned back on the couch and looked in deep thought. "The Sith have never had never faced these odds before."
"You've never had to face heroes before?" Falcone asked with an eyebrow raised.
"We did face off against supposed heroes. They were called Jedi." Ominis said with a critical look in his eyes. "They could wield the Force, same as the Sith, but the difference between us and them is that we are not afraid to tap into the dark side. It grants us powers far superior to them, and that's what makes us superior." Ominis said as he stood up and glared at the image of the Justice League.
"They're powerful too, you know." Falcone added.
"True, and I will say this about them; the Justice League are far superior in power to the Jedi in terms of raw power, but they both suffer the same thing that makes them inferior to the Sith." Ominis said as he looked towards Falcone with a smirk. "We look for morepermanentresults, then just repeat the same thing."
"Enlighten me." Falcone said with an intrigued look, wondering what his perspective is.
"I've only been here a few days and I've taken that time to study up on the escapades of the Justice League, and while their accomplishments are impressive, dare I say maybe better than the Jedi of my galaxy, they still don't take it even further." Ominis said as he used the Force to lift up a globe. "They save the world, but they don't protect it."
"And there's a difference?" Falcone inquired.
"A very big difference." Ominis said with his eyes narrowed as he spun the globe. "They go in, they save day, stop an event that threatens the people, take the supposed villains into custody, and the people cheer for them."
"Seems pretty straightforward." Falcone said with a shrug.
"But nothing else is done. The villain goes into custody, then breaks out, and then the cycle starts all over. That's all well in good for the heroes, but then the people begin to suffer, and with this cycle constantly repeating, more suffering occurs." Ominis said as he made the globe spin faster with the Force. "The world goes on turning, but the chaos continues to fester and grows like a disease, and in time..." The globe begins to crack, until shatters into pieces and clutters to the floor. "...everything falls to ruin."
"That's an interesting notion, but tell me, how does this fall under the fault of the Justice League?" Falcone asked, not really arguing, just wanting to get his full perspective.
"Because, like the Jedi, they fail to comprehend the solution to stopping this." Ominis said as he went to a painting in the study that showed an image of the old Gotham in its early years. "In order to truly protect the world... you have to control it."
"Ah, so that's your goal." Falcone said with a smirk. "You want to rule the world."
Ominis returned his smirk with one of his own, before giving a sigh and looking back at the painting. "Still, I am just a single Sith in an unknown planet with nothing."
"Well, if you're looking for a good place to get your foot in the door, no better place than Gotham." Falcone said as he stood up and came up next to him and looked at the painting with him. "I've been here for years and have seen many people claim to have a great destiny, but with nothing to show for it. You... I think you can actually do it. If you can control Gotham, you can control the world easy."
"And you're not just saying that because you want me to rid you of your biggest problem." Ominis stated with a chuckle.
"Well, that's an added bonus, but it helps you too." Falcone said as he and Ominis walked out of the study and just took a walk through the halls of his mansion. "Roman Sionis; the man is a psychopath, but smart enough to be the don of all of Gotham. A lot of syndicates claim to be independent, but Sionis has his hand in all their pockets. He holds all the power in Gotham."
"Just because he has power doesn't mean he's all powerful." Ominis countered with a smirk. "And the Batman hasn't done anything to stop him?"
"Oh, he has, multiple times, but his methods have always been a setback in Roman's operation. He's got money for the best lawyers and to bribe the judge, and he's got the influence to make sure things don't stick permanently." Falcone explained.
"And thus, there is the issue." Ominis said with his eyes narrowed in annoyance. "Trying to creat setbacks instead of dealing with the problem permanently."
As they continued to walk, Falcone stopped when he noticed an something right outside the window. "Speaking of problems." He said, causing Ominis to look out curiously. What he saw made his eyes narrow in anger and annoyance.
The window had a view that stretched out pretty far, so they could see quite a way down the road that led up to the mansion, and driving up those roads right now were five black vans.
"Expecting company?" Ominis asked with his eyes narrowed.
"No, I am not." Falcone said as he walked off.
Falcone walked off and stood outside the front of his mansion and waited patiently, cane in hand. He didn't have to wait long as the five black vans soon drove up and parked close by. Four of the vans opened up and five men with guns stepped out and stood in front of their vehicles, giving Falcone a hard look. The fifth van opened up and this time four other armed men stepped out, but the fifth one was different than the rest.
This man had pale skin and was bald, but his skin had distinguishable markings on him. When one looked close, it was revealed that the man had tally marks on his exposed skin that you could see, and even on his bald scalp, but they weren't tattoos, they were scars.
"Victor Zsasz." Falcone said with his eyes narrowed. "So, Sionis is done holding back, I guess."
"Well, he knows that I'm the best, and I never fail him." Zsasz said with a smirk as he pulled down the cooler of his shirt to reveal a part of his shoulder. "Count yourself lucky. I have a spot for your mark right here."
"You and your sick obsession." Falcone said in anger. "You're nothing more than a serial killer disguised as a bouncer. You're sick and demented, but then again, given who your boss is, I shouldn't be surprised."
"Well, a guy has to make a living." Zsasz said with a smirk as he held up his hand, having all the armed men raise up their guns. "So, death by firing squad..." He then reached into his sleeve and pulled out a knife. "...or by knife. Your choice."
"I'll go with..." Falcone said as a smirk slowly forged on his head. "Choice number three."
"What are you..." Zsasz said in confusion, but then paused when he noticed a shadow cast over them all briefly. He and the rest of his men looked up and noticed that all five of their vans were slowly floating up in the air, much to everyone's shock. "What is this?!"
"Just a little trick my new friend knows." Falcone said as he looked behind him. Everyone else looked behind him and gasped when they saw someone standing on top of the roof of Falcone's mansion with their arms raised.
Standing on the roof was Ominis with his mask and armor on, raising his arms as he used the Force to lift all five vans up in the air. He then let his arms fall down, causing all of the assassins to scramble out of the way as the vans came crashing down to the ground. Ominis then jumped down off the roof of the mansion and used the Force to slow his fall till he lands on his feet.
Zsasz glared hard at him as he picked himself up from the ground after jumping away from the falling vans. "So, the retired old Don found himself a little muscle." He picked up a gun and pointed directly at Ominis. "I suggest you give up now. This is not gonna end well for you."
"Funny. I was gonna say the exact same thing."Ominis said without any fear.
Zsasz just gave a smirk as he and the other assassins fired their guns at him, but just raised his hands and channeled the Force around him. The bullets seemed to have halted in midair and clamored to the ground, like they just hit an invisible wall. Ominis raised his other hand and Zsasz's gun came flying right out of his hand and went into the Sith's outstretched hand. Falcone stood back and still held his smirk, knowing he's in good hands.
All gunshots ceased when all of the assassins stared wide eyed at the newcomer in shock, Zsasz chief among them. "Who are you?" The scarred hitman said in shock.
"You called me his muscle, but I am much more than that."Ominis said as his finger tips crackled with electricity."I am your death."
Ominis unleashed a stream of Force lighting from both his hands, aiming right at the vans. The lighting hit two of the vans, but the lightning seemed to travel between all five of them, causing them to explode, scaring the assassins and causing them to jump out of the way. Omninis raised his hands and spread them out, rolling the flaming vehicles around and having them flatten some of the assassins.
Some of the assassins regained their bearings and fired at him again, but Ominis ignited his lightsaber to deflect their bullets, and used the Force to stop any bullets that got past his saber. It was annoying that he couldn't send the bullets right back at them, as they just melted when they hit his lightsaber.
He raised his hand and fired another stream of Force lightning at a group of assassins, causing them to scream in pain before they collapsed to the ground dead. Using the Force, he picked up one assassin and levitated him in front of him as a human shield, taking the bullets. He sped forward and delivered multiple slashes at them, killing them instantly.
He raised both his hands and Force choked even more of them before snapping their necks. One bullet struck his helmet. Jerking his head to the side a bit, but it still bounced off. He looked at the assassin that shot him, looking at him with fear knowing he just ticked him off.
"Brave, but foolish."Ominis said as he saber throws his weapon, causing it to cut the assassin in half before it returned to his hand.
Only a handful were left, and he decided to finish him off quickly. Raising his hands up, he lifted the flaming wrecks of their vans up into the air and then bringing all five of them down right on top of them.
Ominis turned his head to see Zsasz crawling along the ground, before turning to look at him in fear. The young Sith slowly stalked towards him, pointing his lightsaber right at him.
"Stay away from me!" Zsasz exclaimed as he quickly stood up and pulled out a pistol. He pointed it right at the Sith and fired multiple shots, but each bullet was blocked by his saber. Ominis raised his hand, causing the pistol to come flying out from the hitman's hand and into his own before crushing it with the Force. Zsasz tried to put on a brave face as he pulled out two knives and wielded them. "No more messing around."
"Well then."Ominis said as he reached the side of his boot to pull out his second lightsaber, igniting it."Come on then."
Zsasz gave a battle cry as he charged right at Ominis, swinging his knives around wildly trying to slash him, but the Sith just dodged each of his attacks effortlessly.
"Slow. Sloppy. Sad."Ominis said as he continued to just repeatedly moved out of Zsasz's strikes. He just kept on repeatedly moving out of the way easily, Zsasz's blades not even touching him."And you're supposed to be a killer."
Zsasz just gave an angry yell as he just waved his hands wildly in desperation, but Ominis just continued to move out of the way. Feeling that this was starting to grow boring, Ominis raised his sabers and slashed one of Zsasz's arms, causing the hitman to howl in pain before falling down to his knees, with the Sith raising his blades to his neck.
Ominis stared hard into the hitman's eyes, before his eyes traveled to his severed arm, seeing the tick scars along their skin."Falcone, what is that?"He asked as the old retired gangster stepped forward next to him.
"Victor Zsasz prides himself on the game known as killing. Every time he makes a kill, he marks himself." Falcone said as he glared at the downed assassin, grunting from the intense pain. "It's a sick habit of his."
"And this is who Black Mask has under his employ."Ominis stated as he raised his saber closer to Zsasz's neck, causing him to whimper in fear, feeling the heat of his saber. After a tense long few seconds he deactivated it and sheathed both his sabers."Which means he's the perfect one to send a message."
"A message?" Falcone asked in confusion.
Ominis used the Force to lift Zsasz up in the air and stared him down in the eyes, causing him to whimper in fear."Go and run back to Gotham, but tell your master, Roman Sionis this. I am coming for his head, and there is nothing he can do about it."He let him down stepped aside, causing Zsasz to look at him in fear as he held the charred stump where his arm was before running off in fear.
"You let him go?" Falcone asked in confusion as Ominis took off his mask.
"Got to make it interesting." Ominis said with a smirk. "Plus, Sionis will be scared now. When one is scared, they get sloppy. He'll be expecting me, but he won't know when and where it'll happen."
"And when and where is that?" Falcone asked curiously.
Ominis gave him a hardened smirk as he stared over the distance, seeing the tall buildings of Gotham. "Soon. Very soon." Ominis said before he made his way back to the mansion. "First, I need to plan things out."

The Next Day...
Ominis walked through the streets of Gotham again in much more casual clothes that Falcone lent him. If he's going to make his mark in the city, he's gotta get a lay of the land. The streets, the buildings, the different directions to take, he had to mesmerize it all.
There was one other reason for this walk, however.
Stopping from his walk, he stood in the middle of the sidewalk as he stared hard at a building a distance away, a tall tower that true lord all of its surrounding neighbor buildings. This was the building where Black Mask resides and conducts his underhanded business.
'Just as I thought.'Ominis thought as he looked towards the entrance and noticed six armed guards standing by the entrance.'I've got him rattled. Falcone says he uses two guards mostly, but today there are six. A scared enemy is a reckless enemy.'
He walked away from the tower quite a distance away, ioccasional giving a brief look through the store windows, seeing all the things they had to offer. This world just kept getting stronger, but also more interesting. It made him wonder what would happen if the Sith would attempt a full-on invasion if they discovered this world.
No, they'd probably be crushed thanks to the Justice League.
If he was to conquer and control this world, he can't use brute force like most of the other Sith, he needs to be careful and calculating. A virus doesn't hit you all at once, it needs time to slowly sink itself in. And that's what he needs to do.
'Besides, the Sith would probably be too busy fighting each other before they can come to a consensus about how to attack this world. They'd be easy pickings for the Justice League.'Ominis thought to himself, giving a frown of frustration as he thought back to the Sith, his old home, his life before spoke to himself. "As soon as I'm done here, I need to get back to my old galaxy. With the power I can gain from this world, I can finally rule the Sith, and we can be a united front, just like it was in the Old Republic."
Still, that's for another time, and right now he needs to focus. He was quite a distance away from the tower, which was good, and he looked around till he spotted an alley with a sewer entrance. He walked in and used the Force to lift up the manhole cover and jumped in.
"Ugh, this is an unpleasant smell." Ominis said with a cringe as he walked through the sewers. He activated his lightsaber to give him some light as he trekked through the disgusting sewer water and pulled out a map. "Okay, I mesmerized all the routes to the tower topside, but now I need to know how to get there via the sewer for either an escape route, or as an alternate point of attack."
He studied the map thoroughly as he trekked through the sewers, still cringing from the smell. As he made his way through the tunnels, he stopped abruptly as he studied the map before looking up at the ceiling.
"If the map is right, then Sionis' tower should be right above me." Ominis said with his eyes narrowed in focus. "Whatever empire you built for yourself, it's all gonna go crumbling down." With the path now clear on both fronts, Ominis decided to end it there and make his way back to Falcone mansion.
That's when he felt it.
His eyes widened in shock as a wave of the dark side seemed to hit him. He instinctively reacted by pointing his lightsaber in the direction he felt it, but there was nothing there. His eyes narrowed as he slowly walked towards where he felt that odd sensation.
"What... is this feeling." Ominis said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out Ludo Kressh's holocron and activated.
"Apprentice, why have you..."The image of the gatekeeper paused when he noticed the look of Ominis, the sweat coming off his brow and the way his yellow eyes seemed to quake."You sense something, don't you."
"Master, I'm... I'm not sure what I'm feeling." Ominis said as continued to walk down the darkened sewer tunnel, the only source of light being his lightsaber. "It's like... it's like I'm feeling a pulse of the dark side beating down there. However... it doesn't feel like the dark side I'm familiar with."
"What does it feel like?"Ludo Kressh asked with intrigue in his voice.
"It... it feels like death." Ominis said with his hand slightly shaking. "I want to be scared by it, but... I feel a pull towards it that I can't help but feel excited for."
"The dark side is calling you, my apprentice."Kressh said in acknowledgment."It's drawing you in, and you must answer it. The dark side is your tool for conquest, it is your weapon of destruction, and it is your ally. Answer it."Ominis nodded as he deactivated the holocron and continued his trek through the dark sewer tunnel.
The young Sith walked through the tunnel silently, occasionally making a few turns here and there whenever he felt the pull taking him in that direction. His journey through the dark sewers came to an abrupt end when he came upon a dead end at the end of the tunnel he walked in.
"What?" Ominis said in confusion as he placed his hand along the wall. He could still feel the pull of whatever it is that was connecting him through the dark side, but there was no more tunnel to walk through.
"I wonder..." Ominis tapped the side of the tunnel with his knuckles and felt it hard, but when he tapped the wall that was the end of the tunnel, he could faintly hear an echo. "I knew it." Gathering the Force in the palm of his hand, he placed it along the wall and sent out a Force push that crumbled the wall.
A new tunnel was revealed, but this one didn't seem connected to the sewer tunnel he was just in. The walls were like naturally formed rock, making the tunnel underground cave, and it went into a downward slope deeper into darkness.
Ominis gave a quick look at the map of the sewer tunnels and found out that this cave isn't on it. "Figures." He said with a a sigh before he steeled his eyes and walked down the underground cave.
The red light from his saber illuminated the cave as he continued his trek through the downward slope deeper into the abyss. The walk took a good solid ten minutes, and the farther down he went, the stronger the pull he felt from whatever it was that was reacting to the dark side.
He finally reached the end of the cave and came upon some sort of large cavernous chamber almost as big as a large house.
Ominis grunted as he felt a slight twinge of pain in his head. The dark side, it was erratic here, like it was interacting with something powerful, something ancient. "What is this?" He said as he held his head until the pain subsided. Ominis gave a glare as he yelled out into the chamber. "Okay, I'm here now! Reveal yourself!"
The response didn't happen at first, but then he heard something, almost like a bubbling sound coming at the end of the cavern. When Ominis looked in the direction it came from, all he was what looked like a pool of mud, but it was bubbling. It was almost like... like something alive was in there.
But he couldn't feel anything alive coming from it.
'I don't know what this is, but I can handle it.'Ominis said in determination as he pointed his lightsaber at the pool. "Show yourself!"
Just then a large bump began to emerge from the mud pool, showing that something large was rising from it. Whatever it was, it was getting bigger and bigger by each passing second, until it completely towered over Ominis. When the mud finally slides off of it, it was revealed what it was.
It was a man, but unlike any man that Ominis had ever seen before. He had chalk white skin, silver hair, with black torn pants that were tied together by a simple rope as a makeshift belt, a torn black coat that draped over his shoulders, and chained manacles along its wrists. It had sicklied pale yellow eyes that seemed focused solely on Ominis, and towered over him as it stood ten feet tall.
"What are you?" Ominis said not in terror, but in awe. The power radiating off this... this creature was incredible, and he wasn't just talking about his size.
It growled at Ominis as he clenched his fist and charged right at him. The creature raised its fist and tried to deliver a powerful punch, but Ominis charged forward and slide under his legs before standing up and slicing the creatures back with his saber.
"RAAAWR!" The creature roared in pain as a seared slash mark was on his back.
"Large and strong, but not very defensive, are you?" Ominis said with a smirk. That smirk went away as soon as the burnt slash mark on its back began to fade away until it was completely gone. "What?"
"Solomon... Grundy!" The creature bellowed as it charged at Ominis again and delivered multiple punches, which Ominis dodged thanks to his reflexes being enhanced by the Force. Every time the creature impacted the ground, its strength created a shockwave that punched Ominis back. "Born on a Monday!"
"What?" Ominis asked in confusion as he jumped back to avoid another devastating blow, while slashing his large upper forearm, though it was futile as the wound instantly healed. ""What are you talking about?!"
"Solomon Grundy, born on a Monday!" The creature bellowed as it roared like an animal and continued its relentless assault. It slammed both its fist into the ground, creating a large shockwave that shook the camera and sent Ominis flying back and hitting the far wall.
"I don't... I don't understand!" Ominis exclaimed as he grunted in pain from the impact. "Is... is that your name?!"
The creature gave a deafening roar as it charged at Ominis while his back was to the wall, before the Sith raised both his hands and unleashed a torrent of Force lightening upon the creature. It roared in pain as it stopped from its charge due to the pain.
Ominis continued to unleash the dark side technique upon what this thing is, but its roar of pain slowly subsided as it gritted its teeth and stomped its way towards him. Ominis was in shock as it fought off the effects of his technique, so he tried to pour in more power into it, but the creature just kept coming.
"Solomon... Grundy. Born... on a... Monday!" The creature bellowed as it raised its fist and tried to punch him, forcing Ominis to roll out of the way to avoid the strike. The fist impacted the wall, causing debris to crumble into the cavern.
This gave Ominis an idea. "Okay, creature. You refuse to stay down, then I'll bury you!" He exclaimed as he reached up and grasped the ceiling with the Force. Cracks appeared along ceiling, before even bigger bits of rubble began to crack off and fall, with the creature punching away a large rock heading its way. Ominis gave a roar of power as he brought his hands down and the entire cavern began to shake and crumble apart.
Ominis quickly used his enhanced Force speed to run all the way to the exit as he deactivated his lightsaber, with the creature closes behind him, trying to reach out to grab him. It would have, but a large piece of the cavern ceiling crashed right on top of the creature, pinning it to the ground.
Ominis ran right up the slope of the tunnel, not looking back as the entire tunnel came crumbling down behind him. He eventually saw the exit and made dive right out of it, thankfully avoiding getting crushed as he looked back to see the entrance of the tunnel exploding in a cloud of dust. When the dust settled, Ominis looked back and gave a sigh of relief.
"Well, that's that." Ominis said as he stood up and gave a hard look at the destroyed cave entrance. "Still, what was that thing. He said... Solomon Grundy." He looked down in thought as something flashed into his mind.'Why does that sound familiar?'
Yesterday...
Ominis sat down in the library within the Falcone mansion library with a whole stack of books all around him. He spent tthe whole day in this library in order to learn the languages of this world and their alphabet so he could read these books.
Apparently, from what Falcone said, what he calls Basic Language, the people here calls English, so speaking here isn't that much of an issue, but there are other languages all around this planet. Pretty uncommon in his opinion for a planet to have multiple languages, but not unheard of. Still, it's a pretty diverse planet, and he had a lot of studying to do if he wanted to learn all of it.
"Catching up on a few good books?" Falcone said as he stepped up behind him before noticing the multiple stacks of books around him. "Or maybe a few hundred?"
"I used to hate studying back from my galaxy, but now I have no choice." Ominis said with his eyes not tearing away from the book.
"You know, you want a good book, you should read this." Falcone said as he picked up a book and handed it to him.
Ominis looked at the cover, but just scoffed when he read the cover. "Nursery rhymes? I'll pass." He said dismissively.
"Never judge a book by its cover." Falcone said as he turned a few pages. "Sometimes nursery rhymes can be reflections of one's life, or rather next life in this one's case." Falcone settled on a page and showed it to him.
"What's this?" Ominis asked curiously.
"Every child in Gotham learns this at one point in their life. It's sort of a tradition for Gotham's citizens." Falcone said with a shrug as he read the nursery rhyme to him.
Present...
"That creature couldn't be this so-called Grundy, right?" Ominis said in deep thought as he turned around and was about to walk away.
Rumble!
Ominis paused as he felt that same pulse from before. "Wait, what?!" Ominis exclaimed in shock as he felt the ground shake. "But that thing is buried under that cave?"
That wasn't the case as the ground exploded and the exact same creature came bursting out with a primal roar. It set its eyes upon Ominis and gave a growl of anger before charging right at Ominis again. "Solomon Grundy born on a Monday!" Ominis growled more in annoyance than anything else as he jumped out of the way.
"Lightsabers won't work on it, the dark side seems to stun him, but not bring him down for good, so what keeps this thing down!" Ominis exclaimed in annoyance as he ran through the tunnel with the creature right behind him. "It's like this thing can't die!"
Wait a minute...
Ominis' eyes widened in remembrance as he thought back to the nursery rhyme. "Could it be that... he's actually dead?"
"Solomon Grundy!" The creature bellowed as it grabbed Ominis by his back and slammed him to the wall, causing the Sith to grunt in pain. "Born on a Monday!" The creature held him hard against the wall as it readied its fist to bring down upon the young Sith.
'I have to think of something!'Ominis thought as his mind raced desperately to get out of this situation as the fist was about to strike him. "Solomon Grundy, born on a Monday!"
Ominis waited for the fist to impact him, to cause him more pain that was either equal or greater than his training with his master, but... something was wrong. The pain never came, and the grip placed upon him against the wall seemed to lessen. When he opened his eyes, he looked to see the pale skinned creature looking at him with a stunned expression.
"Solomon Grundy... born on a Monday?" The creature repeated, but much more softly this time. He then placed Ominis back on the ground and let him go.
'Okay... we're getting somewhere. How did the rest of it go?'Ominis thought to himself as he looked down in deep thought. "Christened on Tuesday. Married on Wednesday. Took ill on Thursday. Grew worse on Friday. Died on Saturday. Buried on Sunday. That was the end, of Solomon Grundy."
The creature hang upon each of every word, almost having a look of recognition on its face as it then sat down in the sewer tunnel. It reached out and looked at its hand for a brief moment, before giving a sad grunt and looked down in depression.
"So then, you really are Solomon Grundy." Ominis said in recognition. "I guess the nursery rhyme didn't tell your complete story." Ominis stepped forward and placed his hand on head, with Grundy not even reacting. Closing his eyes, he let the Force peer into his mind and soul, but he met with something unexpected, in that, there was no mind or soul to begin with. Just an empty shell. "No wonder you couldn't die. You're already dead."
"Solomon... Grundy." Grundy said with a sad moan as he looked down at his own reflection in the sewer water.
Ominis looked down in thought, unsure of what to do with this bit of knowledge. This creature, this Solomon Grundy, was a walking pariah in his eyes. Most Sith salivated at the thought of becoming immortal, but this creature seems to have achieved what they all craved, but at the cost having no soul.
Don't get him wrong, he too wondered what would happen if he could become immortal, but he realized the cost would most likely be too great if not achieved properly. This creature seemed to be immortal, but they have no will and no soul, and that's not something he'd wish to gain.
No soul, no mind, no purpose, but what it does have...
"Grundy... you're powerful." Ominis said with a smirk, gaining the undead giants attention. "But you are lost. I know that feeling of being lost. Unsure of what your purpose is, where you should go. However, one person offered me a chance to do something, and now..." the young Sith held out his hand out to Grundy. "I want to offer you that chance. Our power together, it's something to be feared."
Grundy gave a grunt of confusion as it looked down at the offered hand, unsure of what to do.
"Come with me. Join me, and your purpose will be clear. Fight by my side, and you will never feel lost again!" Ominis declared with a grin. "So, Grundy, will you join me?"
Grundy continued to stare hard at the young Sith's hand, before a grunt and smile came upon him as he held his large and held onto Ominis' outstretched one.
Ominis smiled in satisfaction. "This... has just become a whole lot more interesting." Ominis said as he chuckled in satisfaction.
He was a Sith with no army, but he has something much better. A devastating weapon.

Hey, everyone! I'm here with the latest chapter of this story!
I gotta say, this one was a whole lotta fun to write, as I got to writer more of Ominis interacting with some individuals from Gotham, and he's learning more about the world he's found himself on. This also begins his pivotal movement to trying to make a name for himself, and to try and gain control. He's got a long way to go, but he's making some big steps already.
Sith never do anything halfway. They either go for it with everything they got, or they fail. Ominis is definitely going to make sure he doesn't fail, but he has some extreme opposition to look forward to. Can't wait to give him a real challenge in the future.
We got to see him face off against a pretty well known Gotham villain, Victor Zsasz, but I wanted to do a bit of a mixed version of him. My version of Zsasz for this story is half of his appearance inGotham, once again, I love that show, and the other half is his occupation inHarley Quinn: Birds of Prey. He's a hitman and enforcer with his extreme ands creepy love of scarring himself like inGotham, and has the same look, but like theBirds of Movie,he works for Black Mask.
Anyway, I revealed who the mysterious ally is for this chapter that he gained. None other than the biggest, baddest, most dangerous zombie of all time, Solomon Grundy! I don't believe he ever appeared in the Young Justice show, so I wanted to do my own in-universe take of the character, and I hope I did him justice. Grundy is a very powerful ally to have, and a simple one, so he'd Ben easy for Ominis to control without the need of manipulation. Plus, he's just always been one of my favorite villains, being both a fearful, yet sympathetic villain.
Believe me, Ominis will gain more allies ion the future. With enemies such as the villains of the DC world, and even the Justice League, he's gonna need them. I won't reveal who his allies are, but I am excited for them to appear, and I know you will be too.
Now, next chapter, Ominis will really start making some moves against Black Mask, and if I have enough room in the next chapter, I may have the big showdown between him and Black Mask. If not, then I'll split it in a two parter and have the second part be the big showdown between the two.
Last, but not least in the slightest, we have some very sad news that was given earlier.
A beloved Star Wars icon has passed away. The great James Earl Jones, Darth Vader himself, has sadly passed away. He was the voice of a generation, and he was a part of all our childhoods. Whether it was Darth Vader, Mufasa, or the king from Coming to America, he was an influential part of our lives, and he will forever be missed.
The circle of life is completed for him, now he is one with the Force.
R.I.P. James, and we will never forget you.
Anyway, that's all I have to say, everyone. Stay healthy, stay safe, and I'll see you all next time.
