Four days was all it took for the younger members of the team to take over the Watchtower with the absence of the senior members, which led to Black Canary calling them all back into service, if only to get the karaoke machine out of the lounge. Mallory and Megan had just made it to the Bridge when they were greeted by the off-key singing carrying down the hall. Dinah gave them a look, and Megan winced. "You should have called sooner," the Martian told her.

"And now I'll leave it up to you to fix it," their former trainer told them. "And quickly, please. We're short handed enough as it is, and half the League wants to quit and the other is trying to raise the age limit on the team so they can join." Mallory smirked, opening her mouth to guess who those members were, but Dinah shot her a glare. "Fix. It."

Megan nodded. "We will. It'll be gone by this afternoon."

"Well, good luck." The Leaguer zetaed off, and the girls headed for the lounge, the din only getting louder the closer they got.

"Who is that?" Mallory asked, shuddering at a high note.

"I don't know. Sounds like they need help, though." They chuckled and hit the button, the doors making a soft swooshing sound as they slid open. Their jaws dropped as soon as they saw the contestants of the karaoke night, particularly the one gripping the microphone and belting her heart out. "Perdita?"

The queen of Vlativa looked up, her face tinging pink as she dropped her arm. "Megan, Mallory, it is good to see you." Peter smirked, grabbing the microphone out of her hand to finish the song, but Jinx switched off the speaker.

"Hey, guys. When did you get in?" Mallory asked, her eyes sweeping past everyone else and landing on Gar, sitting at the opposite side of the couch. He looked good, much better than he had the last time she'd seen him, back when she banned him from hero work until he started seeing Dinah.

"Since Jinx told us we would have the place to ourselves," the green teen replied. Perdita returned to her seat beside him and his arm went around her shoulder reflexively.

Mallory tilted her head, nodding. "Huh. And…how long has that been going on?"

Jaime rolled his eyes. "Man, you guys have no life. 'Gardenia' went public, like, two weeks ago."

The actor shot the older teen a glare. "It's 'Gardita'," he corrected, but Jaime just shrugged. "Sure, whatever."

"Did you know?"

Megan shook her head, not looking away from her brother. "Nope."

"How long are you guys staying?" Mallory moved to the kitchen counter as she spoke, opening the fridge to find old take out boxes and every type of soda to choose from. They sure worked fast.

"I am only able to stay for the night, I have a cabinet meeting in the morning," Perdita said.

Mallory chuckled, shaking her head as she brought her drink to the couch and plopped down on an end, narrowly missing landing on Bart's legs. "I forget that I know the royalty of two countries sometimes," she admitted.

Artemis laughed from the doorway, making everyone turn to see her and Conner coming in. "And that they're all younger than you?" she asked, perching on the arm next to the red head.

Mallory rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that too."

"What about you two?" Megan asked, looking at their brothers. "You staying for a little while?"

"Actually," Peter said, grinning and looking over at Gar. "Yeah, we might. Tell them."

"Tell us what?"

"Well, I recently came clean to my public about my addiction problem, and, well, I think as long as I'm taking a break from my acting career, I might as well come back to the team. You know, full time." He was looking between Mallory and Megan, the unspoken question of their approval hanging between them.

Mallory nodded slightly, and Megan smiled at her brother. "It'll be good to have you back." He grinned, relieved and excited by their answer. "Crash!"

"Yeah, we'll finally have a stealth guy back on the team," Jinx said, lacing her fingers with Peter's.

"Hey, we're stealthy," Mallory shot back.

Peter tilted his head. "Please. Megan runs missions from space and it takes you ten minutes and a call to Dick to break into a candy store."

Mallory rolled her eyes. "It was one time. And that place had no business using that kind of security."

Perdita arched an eyebrow. "Why were you trying to break into a candy store?"

"Not important. So are you staying in Central, or are you moving in here?"

Peter smirked, noting the abrupt change of subject, but he shrugged. "I don't know, it's been pretty crash staying here the last few days. Might just claim my room permanently. We're talking about moving the couches and putting a gaming center in here."

The girls exchanged a look. "Oh, yeah, about that," Megan started. "The League might not appreciate you moving all this stuff in here."

"No, no, they're totally cool with it," Virgil insisted. "Plastic Man and Flash said they'd help set it up."

"Well, I guess Barry found a new partner in crime," Mallory muttered.

"Well, I tried. Your turn," Megan replied.

Mallory shot her a side glare, but Artemis picked up the task without missing a beat, her gaze passing over each of the teens, but landing on the two that they knew had started it. "The League, despite a few weak links, is getting a little annoyed with all the changes you guys have made in the last few days, so you're going to leave the couches where they are, clean out the fridge, and get rid of that thing before Canary decides to try it out."

The team looked at each other, almost as if they were having a psychic conversation of their own, and Bart groaned. "Fine, we'll stash it in someone's room tonight."

Megan smiled brightly. "Thank you."

"So, Vig," Mallory said, smiling at the name, "you sure you're ready to come back? You might need some training."

He rolled his eyes. "What, from you? From what I heard, you and Artemis are the ones who need the extra training. You called for backup in a fight you started."

"Who told you that?"

"Uh, everyone who came to your rescue," Gar replied happily.

The pyrokinetic rolled her eyes. "That's not fair, we were outnumbered."

"You can keep making excuses, it doesn't change what happened," Bart said, suddenly across the room. Artemis arched an eyebrow at the speedster but he just grinned at her from the safety of six feet and a flammable couch.

"How did you find the place, anyway? Cassie said it was in a mountain," Gar asked.

Mallory opened her mouth to answer, but Megan rushed ahead, explaining how she'd gotten the tip from the League. The words died on Mallory's tongue, but a question replaced the answer. "Hey, how did the League know about it? The whole place was off the grid, they were using metas with electric abilities to power it, and boom tubes to transport. And They did something to mask the boom tube signatures, too. I've never seen traces in that part of the world, and I've been looking for new ones for months."

The Martian shrugged. "I don't know, they must have slipped up. Maybe it was before they got the idea to use meta to power the plant."

Conner tilted his head slightly, but he didn't say anything. Mallory and Artemis exchanged a glance, neither buying the answer, but they knew when Megan was holding something back. Unfortunately, so did the boys. Mallory didn't miss the look they shared, or the one her brother shot her.

"So, you have a mission lined up yet?" Jinx asked, looking at the leader.

"Yeah, make it a good one. Gar hasn't been on one with us in months," Cassie requested.

"Well, I'll start looking for one. Actually, I'll go check the League's computer now, maybe they have something they need checked out."

"Well, we should go start moving me out," Peter said as soon as the Martian was out of the room.

Mallory tilted her head. "You've moved around more than I ever did. If you don't know how to pack by now, then–"

"You'll help me? Aww, that's why you're my favorite," her brother interrupted, nearly dislocating her arm as he pulled her to her feet.

"Ow! Fine, I'll help you." She grabbed the back of Conner's shirt as she stood, dragging him with them out the room.

"Ow! What?" Conner asked, rubbing his throat.

She shook her head. "You didn't even feel that. Where's Artemis?"

The blonde came out the next second, Mallory's drink in hand. "So, we're talking about Miss M, right?" she asked. "She's hiding something."

"She's not the only one," Peter muttered.

"What are you talking about? You're the one that showed up out of nowhere," Conner shot back.

"Come on, I'm not stupid. You guys don't stay away from the team for four days without a reason. And that reason isn't usually good, so what happened?"

"Nothing," Mallory insisted.

He stared at them, his gaze not letting up, his dark eyes seeming to see right through them, searching out the truth. Artemis shot a glare at Mallory. "You taught him that," she accused.

The redhead shook her head. "I didn't know he'd use it against us."

"Ok, look," Conner said, getting to the point, "Dick got hurt, so we've been taking turns staying with him, and he didn't want anyone to know because, well, you've met the Bats."

"Oh, ok," Peter said, shrugging and dropping the issue. "So, why do you think Megan's hiding something?"

"I don't know," the clone admitted, tilting his head. "But, you know, I had a feeling something wasn't right when we got to the base. There wasn't anything on the outside that would have been flagged by the satellites unless they were picking up on transportation, and I passed some zeta tubes on the way to back you guys up."

Peter smirked and opened his mouth to say something, but Mallory held up a hand, stopping the remark before it started. "Not a word," she warned. He rolled his eyes, but his mouth closed without a word.

"You know, she never actually said who gave her the intel," Artemis pointed out. "Every time she went over it, it was always 'they' or 'the League'."

Mallory nodded. "And why didn't they call all of us in? Or at least me and Dick. We've been working on the meta trafficking the longest, and this was a major break."

"It could have come from the Leaguers in space," Peter suggested. "And they just called whoever was up here."

"How would they have known exactly where to look?" Artemis asked, shaking her head. "Besides, we haven't heard anything useful from them in weeks."

The younger boy shrugged. "Well, you could just ask her, you know. Or do you think this is some big conspiracy."

They shook their heads, chuckling at the suggestion, but all the way to her brother's room, Mallory's eyes kept drifting to Artemis, her friend's presence a reminder that it had been done before. She shook the thought away as quickly as it came. No, she thought, pulling her brother's things out of drawers and throwing them on the bed to be packed. No one in their family would do that. Not again.
