The lion crouched to spring, and then suddenly the Witch vanished and it was spring. The unexpected warmth made him yawn and stretch. He caught sight of what he had never hoped to see and bounded off across the courtyard.

The rabbit turned to flee, for in her heart of hearts she had no spirit for battle. Then suddenly night flashed into day before her very eyes. She wasn't cold and shivering anymore, and as she turned back around she caught sight of something huge and golden.
