"Mama," Andre says from where he's curled up against Alicia's side. "Where's papa?"

Alicia hums. Looks down at him. "He's out promoting the next wrestling show he's putting on. Remember, baby? We've told you about that."

"Oh yeah," Andre says, voice drifting a little as he starts to doze off. "Mama?"

She sighs. "Yes, baby?"

"Will he be home soon? We were in the middle of reading something," Andre murmurs.

"I could read it to you," she offers but Andre tenses up, shaking his head.

"Only papa knows the voices, mama," he says, pouting a little. "It wouldn't be the same."

"I think papa will be home before it gets dark out," she says, glancing at the clock. "Do you think you can stay awake for ten more minutes or so?"

"I don't know," he says, blinking sluggishly against her arm. "Maybe."

She chuckles and kisses his forehead. "Well, let's see if there's anything we can do to pass the time, hm." She scoops him up and gets him on his feet next to the couch before standing as well, reaching out for his hand.

Once he's rested his little hand in hers, she leads the way to the bathroom where she then helps him brush his teeth and get a glass of water. He then follows her dutifully to the bedroom, choosing his pajamas for the evening and changing into them with some help from her before cuddling up into bed.

She checks the clock and leans over him, resting her hand in his hair and pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Do you think you're gonna be able to stay awake until papa comes back?" she asks quietly.

"I dunno, mama," Andre murmurs. "Gonna try."

She chuckles and sits down next to him, resting a hand over his as he struggles against his body's need for rest.

She looks up a few minutes later as the front door opens, Ricardo finally home, to find that Andre is fast asleep, snuggled up against his pillow. She smiles wanly and lets go of his hand before quietly getting up and making her way to the living room, where Ricardo is dropping off the few remaining flyers he has after hours of pounding pavement to promote the Rumble of the Roses event. "Well," she says softly. "There you are."

He looks up at her, smiling tiredly. "Here I am," he agrees. He glances at the clock and winces. "Oh no, is Andre asleep?"

"He is," Alicia says quietly.

He closes his eyes and exhales, carefully walking down the hall into Andre's bedroom. He hovers over the bed, watching his son sleep before leaning in and pressing a careful kiss to his forehead. "I'm sorry, Andre," he murmurs to him. "I promise I'll read two chapters tomorrow."

He then leaves him, not wanting to wake Andre up, and returns to Alicia's side. "It's only going to get worse from here, huh? The things wrestling will probably make me miss of their lives?"

"Probably," Alicia says quietly, resting her forehead against his temple. "But they'll know you love them."

"I hope so," Ricardo says with a sad look on his face. "I really do."

She kisses him. "They will. I'll remind them as needed."

He smiles at her. "I definitely love you."

She smiles back. "I love you too."

Side by side, the two go to bed, eager to meet the new day come morning.
