Gudako Fujimura sat at the edge of a low chair in her Command Room, her hands folded neatly in her lap as she gazed across the table at her Servant. It had been some time since she first summoned Beverly Sutphin, the unassuming housewife with a penchant for keeping her home— and her family— in perfect order. Though Beverly presented herself as the picture of suburban normalcy, there was something unmistakably off about her, something dark that lurked just beneath her perfectly styled hair and polite demeanor.
Today, Gudako decided to dig a little deeper.
"It all started when someone cut me off from parking," Beverly said with a sweet smile, her voice light and casual, as if discussing a recipe for cookies instead of her lethal tendencies.
Gudako raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "And from there it escalated?"
Beverly chuckled softly, brushing a stray hair from her face. "Oh, dear, it wasn't just that. You see, people have a way of… testing your patience. It's like they want to push you over the edge." She paused, her eyes narrowing just slightly. "But I won't tolerate rudeness, Gudako. I have my limits, just like everyone else."
Gudako leaned back, crossing her arms. She had seen her fair share of odd Servants, but Beverly's seemingly harmless nature masked a dangerous side that was both fascinating and unnerving. "So, someone cuts you off in the parking lot, and then what? You decided to teach them a lesson?"
Beverly's smile never faltered. "Oh, not right away. I'm not that impulsive." She leaned forward slightly, her voice lowering to a conspiratorial tone. "But sometimes people need to understand that there are consequences for their actions. You can't just be rude and expect to get away with it."
Gudako nodded slowly, still trying to reconcile the cheerful housewife before her with the cold-blooded assassin she knew Beverly could be. "And those consequences involve…?"
Beverly's eyes sparkled with a strange delight. "A little creative problem-solving. I've always believed in keeping things tidy. If someone refuses to be a good neighbor or a decent human being, well… I just make sure they don't get the chance to do it again."
Gudako couldn't help but smirk at Beverly's twisted logic. She admired the woman's dedication to her moral code, even if it was somewhat warped. "And here I thought you were just here to bake cookies and keep the house spotless."
Beverly laughed, a sound that was almost too sweet for the conversation they were having. "I do enjoy baking, but there's more to me than meets the eye, Gudako." Her expression softened slightly, the dangerous glint in her eyes fading for a moment. "I'm just a mother who wants to protect her family. That's all."
"By any means necessary?" Gudako asked, her tone casual but her gaze sharp.
Beverly's smile returned, a little too wide, a little too perfect. "Exactly."
There was a brief pause before Gudako leaned forward, her elbows resting on the table as she considered her Servant carefully. "You know, Beverly, I think we're going to get along just fine."
Beverly's expression brightened, and for a moment, she looked every bit the picture of a devoted housewife. "I knew you'd understand. Sometimes, it takes someone with a little edge to appreciate what I do."
Gudako chuckled softly, her fingers drumming against the table. "I have to say, you're not quite what I expected when I summoned an Assassin Servant. But then again, you're exactly what I need."
Beverly beamed, her demeanor as cheerful as ever. "I'm just happy to help, dear. Now, is there anything— or anyone— that needs a little tidying up?"
Gudako shook her head, amused by the sheer contrast between Beverly's appearance and her true nature. "Not at the moment, but I'll keep you posted."
Beverly nodded, her smile never fading. "I'll be ready when you do. After all, a good housewife knows how to take care of things… permanently."
As Beverly stood up, excusing herself to tend to some "domestic" matters, Gudako watched her go, feeling both impressed and slightly unsettled. It wasn't every day that you summoned an Assassin Servant who could make you feel like everything was under control— and also like you should double-check all your sharp objects.
But then again, Gudako liked a little chaos. And with Beverly Sutphin by her side, things were sure to stay… interesting.
