"Races of all kinds. I welcome you to this year-end tournament!" The announcer shouted.

"Let's meet the contestants!"

"Oh shs." Here it comes Purple stated as the crew of the command deck watched the Giant screen.

"First up all the way from Conveyor Belt Planet, the Screwheads!" The announcer shouted.

The tallest watched in anticipation as the announcer introduced each contestant. However Red noticed something about the contestants…

…None actually appeared, it was just holos of their faces.

"What is this?" He asked. "Where are the participants?"

"Oh, they're always getting prepped in the simulation rooms so they can start the match right after announcing the names." Said Purple.

"Wait so we still won't see how tall he is?" Red asked.

"Shs." Said Purple causing a groan from his co-leader.

"And last but not least all the way from Earth, we have our first multi-species team!"

Holos of Zim and Gaz's faces showed up as the alien announced them.

"Do we know that human?" Asked Red.

"Nope." Purple replied.

"How'd she end up as Zim's partner?" Asked Red.

"Don't know." Replied purple as he took a sip of his slushy.

"Drone bring me up any reports that involve this… Gazlene." He asked.

"Only one report found." Replied the drone as he brought it up.

It was from one of Zim's old reports on earthlings. Not much was on her. Apparently she had been part of some rescue team, from Moo-ping prison. Nothing about how she knew Zim or any other interactions they may have had.

So how…? Eh guess it doesn't matter. Red thought to himself as they continued watching the tournament.

They had just announced the first game from Earth. It was what Earth called RTS. Some kind of army-building game or something. The purpose seems to be to destroy the other teams' bases and be the last team standing or something.

"Well this should be interesting." Said Red.

"Yes…" Stated Purple. "Now, taking all bets, I put 50 monies down that Zim will destroy his own base!"

Gaz sighed as she rushed to gather resources to make additional forces. The no rush policy was 60 minutes in game time which only had about 20 minutes left before the invasions definitely started. Yet her army was only about half the size of that of her closest competitor. The Plookesians… apparently they were friends with Jake's old guidance counselor.

"How you doing over there?" Asked Gaz.

"Zim is doing spectacular, his Army will blow their bases out of the water!" Zim shouted.

This was a slight problem. The two were supposed to work together to make troops that would invade the enemy bases and also to protect their own.

The best strategy is to build forces that complement each other, like archers and footmen or calvary and siege, but Gaz had no clue what Zim was building and it was impossible for Gaz to build all the needed forces in the amount of time.

It also didn't help that she was a short builder. Her older brother was right, she could never figure out how to collect resources and build troops at the same speed as many other players. What made things worse was that this was a game from Earth, so if their team came dead last, she would surely wouldn't hear the end of it.

"10 minutes gamers."

The announcement brought chills to Gaz's body. She had only her small militia and she had no clue what Zim was building. She couldn't even really attack with this set. She would have to basically just defend her base from the other teams while continuing to produce troops. Which in truth was just delaying the inevitable. Truth be told, it was weird seeing everything from this angle. RTS games back home gave you an overhead view. However, with these games, she played the role of commander and actually was overseeing the troops through the simulation. It was cool but weird at the same time. It was almost like the tower king in some of those vs games.

"1 minute."

Gaz sighed again. She couldn't do much more than make a few soldiers and pray that Zim would some how pick up the slack.

"5….4….3….2….1…. Let the battle begin!"

Gaz stationed her troops in front of her base near the towers. Depending on who came after her, she would be able to last for perhaps a half hour before being completely and utterly pummeled… unless of course Zim had…

"Now watch your doom!" Shouted said Invader as he launched his… what… wait...

"Hahaahahahahahahaha"

*BOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom*

Suddenly Gaz saw nothing but black smoke everywhere.

"What's this!?" The announcer said.

"Zim!?" Asked Gaz, but got no answer.

It took about 5 minutes for the smoke to clear and when it did…

"We have our winner!" Shouted the announcer causing the crowd to go wild.

"What happened?" Asked Gaz.

"We are victorious!" Zim yelled before coughing up huge chunks of black smoke.

"What… how?" Asked Gaz.

Just then the fighters were taken out of the simulation.

"Alright, guys that's team earth 1, and everyone else tied for last place." Said one of the workers.

"We play the next game in about 15 minutes, so get do what you have to do and make sure you're in those chairs or you forfeit the next match."

"Can someone tell me what just happened!?" Gaz asked.

"Oh, well human…" replied the worker. "You see your partner over there built no troops, just all artillery and nukes. When the announcement was made to start fighting, he released all his bombs and artillery throughout the entire map thus blowing up everyone's base, including his own."

"Wait, then how'd we win?" Asked Gaz.

"Well, friendly fire isn't on, so you were the only base left standing…" The worker responded.

"…Okay now you guys have 12 minutes." He said as he left.

"Ah, the smell of victory." Said Zim as he walked over and handed Gaz a soda.

"So, you planned that, to destroy all bases except mine?" Asked Gaz.

"Plan? Who needs a plan?" Zim responded before drinking from his own soda.

"Of course." Said Gaz as she drank the soda Zim brought for her. In any case, they had won and she had his… unorthodox method to thank for that. The next game would be up soon, so she decided to use the bathroom.

"Way to go Gaz!" Shouted Dib as the rankings were shown.

Sure the method was rather dumb, but the results couldn't be better. All the other teams tied while Gaz and Zim held first place.

Dib had pretty much a front-row seat as the VIBs were on a floating platform that gave them top view of all the action. Though it was all going through a screen currently so essentially most could see the same thing but still it was pretty cool. Plus it came with all the food and drink you could eat, which Dib was currently taking advantage of. He had a sample platter in front of him. Most of the food was rather enjoyable actually.

"Can I refill your drink sir?" Asked a small robot nearby.

"Sure." Said Dib.

This was definitely the way to watch the games, but Dib still felt uneasy. Skoodge had been clear he was being tracked and apparently being in these good seats were all part of it. Despite the comfort, he would remain diligent and keep his guard up.

"Sir…"

"Ah…" Dib jumped and turned.

"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you." The alien next to him said.

"Oh, no worries." Replied Dib. "Hi."

"Hello, I was just wondering if we could get a photo. It's so rare to see humans on Arcadikon."

"Oh…" Dib replied. "…Sure."

"So are you like president of earth or something?" The alien asked after taking a selfie with Dib.

"I am self-proclaimed defender of earth." Dib replied.

"Oooh, a military man." Said the Alien.

"No, just defender from invaders and whatnot." Dib Stated.

"Ah… so are you here to protect the one called Gazlene?" The alien asked.

"Sort of, I'm her chaperone." He said.

That was not the only curious alien near Dib. After their conversation, many had questions for him. Dib actually liked how friendly everyone had been so far.

However, that did not stop him from remaining steadfast. Any of these "friendly" aliens could be the one secretly tracking him.

ring* *ring*

Dib looked to his watch which he and Gaz used to communicate.

"Gaz?" He asked.

"Hey…" She responded.

"Congrats on the win and in your worst genre." He said.

"Thanks." Gaz responded. "Anyway, I don't have much time. Just don't go anywhere after the games okay. Wait for me and Zim."

"Um… okay is something wrong or…"

"Players to your stations." Dib heard the announcement.

"Gotta go, just remember what I said." Gaz stated.

Then the communications shut off and Dib saw that the next set of games were starting.

"What was that about?" He thought.

However, he didn't have much time to dwell on it.

"Racers start your engines!" Shouted the announcer.

"I won!" Shouted Purple. "Zim blew up his own base."

"Yeah… but they still won." Red said.

"Doesn't matter." Said Purple as he collected his money.

"This sucks. I can't tell if Zim got taller while he's in that vehicle." Said Red changing the subject.

"Alright, next bet…" Said Purple. "…I put 100 monies that Zim will crash and burn."

"Will you focus!" Red Shouted at his co-leader.

"Oh, chill…" Said Purple as he collected monies for the bets. "Not like intense focusing will help us see if he's taller or not."

Technically Purple was right. Red was just getting frustrated that somehow they could see Zim but couldn't tell if what Sizz-Lorr said was true.

"You getting in on this or what?" Asked Purple.

Red sighed.

"50 monies that he not only crashes and burns, but that he also somehow wins the race."

Gaz waited as the final scores of the day were listed. They were still in first but not by as high of a margin as she liked. Zim had some how crashed his car, spun out of control, destroyed nearly every other racers' car and had still ended up getting flung to the finish line and thus securing victory for their team. However, the next game was truly challenging and Zim's chaos didn't help at all. It was some kind of Puzzle which Gaz couldn't see any rhyme or reason with it. Zim of course just threw everything together randomly and when that didn't work began shooting pieces to try and make them fit. Which of course didn't work. So they had come last in the 3rd match.

Still, though she thanked God they were in first and that she had actually (well really it was Zim but still) won the RTS round.

Though as she sat and waited for the results of the first day of the games to be verified, she couldn't help but feel a bit… well she was concerned about Dib. See she had overheard one of the orginizers when coming back from the bathroom earlier. She wasn't sure who the alien was talking to, but she heard what he said.

"Don't worry boss the big-headed one is in the seat. Seems to be enjoying himself alright. So, do we just monitor for now? Ok well that will have to wait until after the games are done, I'll keep you posted."

Now, to be fair it could have been any bigheaded alien as there were many of them, but she had a feeling they were talking about Dib.

"First-day results are in." The announcement came, breaking Gaz from her thoughts about her brother.

"The Earthians are in first place, but followed close by the Plookesians, then the Inquisitorians…"

The list went on but Gaz found herself not caring to much about who came after them.

"That's all for today. Come back tomorrow where we actually crown a champion!" The announcer said before ending the event.

"We are in first place." Said Zim as he walked up to Gaz.

"Barely…" Gaz replied.

"Oh, don't worry Gazlene… you are Zim's partner and Zim shall emerge victorious!" He told her.

Gaz inwardly rolled her eyes.

"So can we go or…?" She asked one of the nearby workers.

"Yes, of course…" The worker said. "…We recommend getting plenty of rest as tomorrow we start bright and early."

Gaz nodded and she and Zim headed out.

She activated her communicator. "Dib, dib?"

No answer.

She tried again but to no avail.

"I told him to wait for us." She said discouragingly.

"Don't worry." Said Zim. "The Dib-monkey is probably sulking after watching the might Zim! Completely destroy his opponents."

Gaz didn't want to explain everything to Zim right now.

She just wanted to see if her brother was okay.

"Dib?" Gaz asked as she entered their hotel room. There was no one there. Now she was really starting to get concerned about his wellbeing. It was one thing for him not to wait for them, but for him to not be here.

She tried her communicator again but there was nothing.

"Message for Gazlene." Said a robotic voice behind her causing her to shoot around. She once again took the ring and waited for it to scan and play the message.

"Hello again Gazlene." Said the Coordinator. "I see your brother enjoyed himself."

Suddenly Dib came on the holo. It showed different clips of him enjoying the food, cheering her on, and…

…what happened afterward.

"Wow, your sis has some mad skills." Said Mr. Dwicky.

"Yup, video games she's in her element, but your friends aren't far behind." Dib stated.

"Yeah, well in any case I found that camera with the video still inside it." The taller human told him.

"Great thanks." Said Dib.

"Well, I better head back." Said Mr. Dwicky as he walked away.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow God spare life." Dib said as he too turned to go back to his hotel.

"Hello, sir." Said a robot nearby. "Need a guide?"

"No, thanks just going back to my hotel room." He responded.

Dib looked at his communicator.

"I can't believe I forgot to charge you last night." He said. His sister was probably trying to call him, but he couldn't answer. Hopefully, she was back at the hotel. He knew she asked him to wait on her, but then he saw Mr. Dwicky in the crowd and he really wanted to see if he had found his camera, so he had followed him and caught up just as he was exiting the arena.

"Where were you!?" Asked an angry Gaz as Dib walked into the hotel room.

He said he was sorry and explained what had happened, which seemed to make her calm down.

"Oh, so nothing strange happened?" She asked.

"Okay, Gaz what is it?" He asked.

There was a silence in the room for about 10 seconds.

"Okay Dib…"

"Greetings Dib-Monkey." Said Zim as he barged in. "You done feeling inferior to I the mighty Zim!?"

"What?" Asked Dib.

"Come now let us feast and revel in today's victory!" Zim shouted.

"I am pretty hungry." Said Dib.

"Though Gaz you were…"

"It can wait." Said Gaz as she walked by Dib and accompanied Zim.

Dib began to follow them, but then remembered the camera was still in his hand.

"Wait let me just leave this in the room… I'll catch up." He said as he went back to the hotel room.

"Greetings sir…" Said a little robot that was in their room.

"Message for Dib Membrane." He said as he handed Dib a ring and departed the room.

Dib placed the camera on his bed and picked up the ring. It scanned and the message played.

"I hope you are enjoying yourself." Said a voice but once again Dib couldn't tell who it was.

"Who are you?" He asked. "Are you the one tracking me?"

"Cannot answer questions, this is a message, not a call…" Replied the Ring.

"I'd like to invite you to dinner tonight, but just you, not your sister, and certainly not Zim." The voice said.

With that, the message ceased.

"Sir?" Asked the robot causing Dib to jump.

"If you would hand me the ring."

Dib did so and the robot scanned it.

"Location obtained, follow me, sir." Said the Robot.

"Wait where?" Asked Dib.

"To dinner of course." Replied the robot.

Now almost every branch of caution that he had in him was telling Dib to just go find Gaz and Zim tell them and not have dinner with whoever this person was…

…but… well…

…he was curious.

Thank you for all who made it to the end. Don't forget to leave a review.
