Author's Note: Hello all! I'm back! Still on the mend, but better than I was before. I hope you all are still interested in following this story and picking up where we left off in Harry's story as the son of the Granger family. I'm still not uploading like I used to, but I do feel happy being able to put anything up at all, so that is something. This chapter isn't my best, but considering the circumstances, it is the best I can give. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this new chapter and hopefully will stick around for more to come as it comes. Love, SehunsBae37.
The Granger Son
Chapter 29
"Harry! Harry, wait a moment!" Hermione cried as she ran with her brother, him pulling her behind him in his mad dash into the castle.
"We don't have a moment, Hermione! We hadn't have any time to lose!" Harry relied back to her.
Hermione planted her feet and jerked the bespectacled wizard's arm harshly, forcing him to stop and turn to look at her. Despite the fear she felt at words Harry spoke, she had to think rationally for just a minute. Looking into his fear-filled eyes, she told him, "Harry, we can't just go rushing in without a plan! We have to tell a teacher! We should-"
Shaking his head, Harry cut her off shouting, "Hermione! We have no time to lose! Voldemort has our parents! He's probably going to kill them if we don't stop him!"
Before Hermione could respond, they heard Draco's voice call out, "Harry! Hermione! Wait up!"
Looking from where they came, they saw Draco, Daphne, and Blaise running up behind them, concerned expressions on their faces. Reaching them Daphne asked, "What's wrong? Why'd you both run off like that?"
"I had a vision just now. Voldemort has our parents! And Sirius! We have to save them!" Harry told them panicked.
Draco's eyes widened at what he heard before a determined look came over them. Looking at his friends he said, "Then let's get going. We have some Muggles to save."
"But how are we going to get to where they are? Where are they anyway?" Daphne asked.
"The Ministry; that's where he's taken them," Harry answered, him bouncing anxiously at being held up.
Blaise, having taken a hold of Hermione's hand, took in her anxious expression before saying, "I know how. Come on, follow me."
Without another word, Blaise took off in a run along with Hermione, the other three running after them. The five of them ran down into the Dungeons, running down its corridors before stopping in front of Snape's office. Looking at Draco, Blaise said, "I know you know his password; let us in. We can use Snape's Floo network to get to the Ministry of Magic."
Draco stared at his friend for a brief moment before muttering to himself, "Uncle will kill me when he finds out I've let you all into his private quarters."
Without further ado, Draco gave the password and the door to Snape's office swung open. He stepped inside and around the desk to the bookshelf, reaching up to place his hand on a jar of newt eyes. Twisting the jar, the sound of a mechanism was heard before the bookshelf slid open to reveal a a spiral staircase leading down. Beckoning the other four to follow, Draco led them down the brief flight of stairs down a small corridor to a wooden door. Turning the knob, Draco opened it and the five of them stepped inside of Professor Snape's private quarters. His quarters was rather homey contrary to popular belief, but looking around would have to wait.
Rushing to the fireplace, Draco grabbed the jar of Floo Powder off the mantle and tossed some in the fireplace. As green flames sprung up, Hermione suddenly asked her brother, "Wait a minute, Harry. How does Voldemort even know about our parents? How could he possibly know you've been adopted when he murdered your birth parents?"
Harry looked at his sister with a guilty expression before answering, "I've let my Occlumency shields slip a bit with everything going on since Umbridge found out about Potter's Army and Snape being taken to the Ministry."
Hermione gave Harry an incredulous look, but before she could say anything in response, Daphne said, "That doesn't matter now. Let's get to the Ministry to save your family."
With that, Draco called out their destination, the flames growing in response to open their pathway, and the five of them stepped through the fireplace. Seconds later, they stepped out into the atrium of the Ministry, running through the dispersing crowd as wizards and witches were leaving for the day and ignoring those that tried to stop them. Reaching an elevator, they rushed in and headed down to the Department of Mysteries per Harry's instructions. However, actually getting their took a while with them opening and going through doors that led them back to where they started. It was frustrating to say the least, and Hermione took to marking each door that led them back to where they started.
Finally, Harry opened one door that seemingly led into a room, only this one fills with shelves of cloudy blue orbs. Each orb had a tag on it with a name and a date. Upon closer inspection, they heard voices coming from the orbs, each one seeming to be saying something of some sort of significance. Looking around, Daphne asked, "What are they? Where are we?"
"This is the room where the Ministry logs prophesies Seers have predicted. Each orb that we're hearing is a prophecy," Draco answered.
"How do you know that?" Harry asked the blond.
"My father told me." Draco pointed up to a specific orb on the shelf he was looking at. "And this one has your name on it."
Blaise, who has joined his friend where he was standing, looked at it as well and stated, "Trelawny's name is on it, too."
Flabbergasted Hermione exclaimed, "You mean that daft woman is a real Seer and not a fraud?!"
A deep, sinister chuckle suddenly filled the air around them, causing them to grip their wands tightly ans huddle close together. The teenagers looked around the many dark walkways of the room, each of them casting Lumos to be able to see better. Each walkway revealed a figure wearing black robes and a mask covering their faces. Seeing they were surrounded, Blaise hissed, "Death Eaters."
"Yes, we are," the Death Eater directly in front of Harry said in mock amusement. "And we're here for the prophecy you were just admiring on account of our Master's orders."
Harry glanced up at the cloudy orb bearing his name before snatching it off the shelf, holding it tightly in his grip. Glaring at the Death Eater, he simply told him, "You can't have it, and neither can he."
Before the Death Eater could retort, a creepy high-pitched, almost childlike giggle came from behind him, revealing a woman with wild curly black hair, wearing a black dress with a corset, and dry cracked lips pulled back into a deranged grin showing rotting teeth. She laughed at the group of teenagers saying, "Baby Potter and his friends here think they can stop us, Dolphy. It's almost cute."
Next to Harry Draco stiffened before growling out, "Aunt Bellatrix."
Bellatrix looked at the blond wizard in surprise before saying, "Little Draco. You should not be here, boy; messing in affairs that don't concern you. Go back now before I give Cissy a reason to worry about you."
"You're trying to hurt my friend, therefore you've made it my business."
As this exchange was happening, Hermione, Blaise, and Daphne had noticed the other Death Eaters were slowly closing further in on them. Looking to her brother, Hermione whispered, "Harry!"
Hearing the desperation in his sister's voice, Harry looked at the couple in front of him and said, "Like I said before, you can't have this prophecy, and neither can Voldmort. Expelliarmus!"
Hitting Rodolphus Lestrange with the spell, the rest of them followed suit and soon, spells, jinxes, and curses were flying around the room. Harry, Hermione, Draco, Daphne, and Blaise all ran through the room and down the walkways, fending off Death Eaters while also taking hits and damage themselves. Daphne and Draco started knocking down prophecies from higher shelves to slow down pursuing Death Eaters. As they ran, Harry called out, "We have to find the door! We have to get out and then we have to save mum, dad, and Sirius!"
No matter how much they fought back, it just seemed like the more Death Eaters seemed to fight against them. Still, they were able to incapacitate them long enough to get away. With one more Death Eater in pursuit behind them, Daphne suddenly stopped and turned to face the approaching Death Eater. As she watched him get closer, Draco cried, "Daphne! What are you doing?!"
Instead of answering, the blonde witch waited until the Dark wizard was almost on top of her before lifting her wand and shouting, "BOMBARDA!"
The spell hit its mark, and the Death Eater flew back down the walkway into the darkness. A loud thud was heard not long after, and then just silence, only for the silence to be filled with what sounded like tinkling. The tinkling soon turned into the sound of shattering glass and it soon became obvious that the spell Daphne cast had caused many shelves of prophecies to start falling over, orbs tumbling off shelves and crashing on the ground. As it became apparent the falling shelves were headed their way, the five of them took off running, ducking and dodging as prophecies fell on top of them. Turning a corner, Harry saw a door in front of him and yelled over the sound of crashing glass and shelves, "Come on! Hurry!"
Reaching the door, Harry quickly pushed it open and rushed inside, only to fall down through the air and hit a hard stone floor. The sound of four other bodies hitting the ground soon followed, all of them groaning in pain. Slowly getting up, they looked around to what was an open and empty room. But in the center of the room was what looked like some sort of doorway that seemed rather smokey within the perimeter of the doorway, but nothing on either side. And yet, Harry could hear whispers coming from the doorway. It was odd, yet something told him to stay away from it. Backing away, Harry said, "We need to find a way out. We need to find where Voldemort is hiding here with-"
Harry's words were cut off as black smoke seemed to suddenly fly around him, his sister, and his friends. They all crouched down to avoid it, a strong wind surrounding them and filling their ears. The wind howled around them until it suddenly stopped. Lifting his head, Harry looked around to make sure his friends were alright, only to find himself alone. Quickly standing, the bespectacled wizard looked around only to find Draco, Daphne, and Blaise held hostage by Death Eaters. Turning around looking for Hermione, he saw Bellatrix Lestrange holding his sister at wand-point in her grip, her crazed eyes looking at him and daring him to make a move.
Footsteps approached him from behind, making him turn around to face a now maskless Rodolphus Lestrange. As he looked up at the older wizard, Rodolphus said, "You've run out of options now, Potter. Hand over the prophecy now, or all your friends die, starting with the one my wife has."
"Don't do it , Harry!" Draco called out to him, only to be slapped harshly across the face by the Death Eater holding him, that Death Eater being Rabastan Lestrange.
Brown eyes looked into green, a silent conversation passing between the siblings. Hermione begged her brother with her eyes not to give in and give Lestrange the prophecy. Only problem was that Harry did not want to risk any more family being hurt by Voldemort knowing he already has his parents and godfather. No, he couldn't risk his sister getting hurt or killed if he didn't do what he was told. Turning back to Lestrange, he began to hand over the prophecy when the room was suddenly filled with bright light. The light blinded everyone, but the sound of what was a fist hitting something, followed by a groan of pain and a body collapsing to the floor was heard. Soon the light disappeared to reveal Rodolphus Lestrange on the ground, and someone else standing in between him and Harry.
It was Sirius Black.
