"The Aldmeri Dominion… a fine dream… misguided… I must say, but the perils of diplomacy are one of its greatest obstacles, my dear Ayrenn, not the Covenant nor the Pact, or even my Legions."
Volume 2 - Sea Vipers
Chapter 4: The Perils of Diplomacy
After that malevolent spirit was dealt with, General Uzumaki ported Valritte with him straight to Mistral's bridge entrance, where Razum-dar met them. Also, with him was another person, a Dunmer woman armed like an adventurer.
"Oh, Mirri, what a surprise!" Naruto exclaimed while Valritte raised an eyebrow, having only heard about this woman before, despite being one of the highest-ranking officer of the Uzumaki Legion herself.
"General, good to see you, and you as well, Battlemage Palatine Kjældsen," the Dunmer, Mirri, greeted, and Valritte inclined her head with a small smile.
Naruto remembered that Valritte had never met Mirri, so he turned to her and said, "Val, this is Mirri Elendis, one of our adventurers and the one whose group I rescued from the Deadlands."
"I wish our meeting were under better circumstances," replied Valritte before she looked down at her clothing. "Our General is a vicious man, not even allowing me to get a change or even take a bath."
Razum-dar chuckled while Naruto looked aghast. Meanwhile, Mirri shook her head. She had heard of their relationship before and found it genuinely amusing.
"Wha-? Ugh, whatever, you'll get what's coming for you one day, woman," retorted Naruto before he marched away, followed by Mirri.
"Oh… never change, Lord Uzumaki," uttered Raz before he turned to Valritte. "It's good you're back, old friend. You still have your wits about you, and you'll need them. Mistral's houses cast deep shadows, and vipers lurk within the tall grass."
Valritte turned serious, looked at her old friend, and said, "What happened?"
"As you may know, Mistral is a free port, a jewel of the southern seas, with trade deals to half of Tamriel. Queen Ayrenn's ambassadors arrived some weeks ago for alliance negotiations, but… things did not go as smoothly as we would like." Razum-dar's mood turned sour, and Valritte sighed. Now, she knew what was up.
"Maormer, eh. Yeah, I remember Mistral having an old treaty with them. What are we gonna do?"
Raz pointed to Naruto's retreating back, inwards to Mistral's centre. "He knows. Go with him and meet with the Silvenar, but take this and give it to the Silvenar. He'll know who you're working with."
"Kage Bunshin…" muttered Naruto, and ten copies of himself appeared before him—not much, but good enough. Then, they all vanished in multiple directions.
"What was that about?" Mirri asked as she readied her bow.
"Do what I do once in a while: Adventuring. I must play my part in the shadow while the Hero of this story takes the main stage," he replied as he turned his gaze to the side and saw Valritte approach them.
Mirri raised an eyebrow; she was slightly baffled when he turned to his Battlemage when he said those last words, but of course, she did not understand nor grasp the ideas that the General tinkered with, yet despite that, she trusted him, all members of the Imperial Legion of Uzumaki did, and shall always do, forever into the eternity of Ætherius.
Sounds cheesy, but it's true, as she would say.
Whatever her thoughts would have been at that time, it faded as Valritte broke the silence.
"Both sides refuse to hand in a copy of their respective treaties."
General Uzumaki rolled his eyes.
"Diplomats…" he muttered under his breath.
"Something feels off, however," added Valritte, and her master nodded.
"I know; the Khajiit had their copy stolen by the Maormer," confirmed Naruto while Valritte looked at him with annoyance. At this point, Mirri made herself scarce and returned to her work, namely, adventuring and scouting for the Uzumaki Legion.
"Where?"
"The embassy."
Valritte's eyes twinkled at the implications as Naruto nodded; the silent command was given—go and get it, discreetly like an assassin and a thief.
It turned out that the embassy was on its own little island, accessible only through a wooden bridge. Fortunately, it was lightly guarded, even the embassy, which said so much about the arrogance of the Maormer in the islands, but Valritte cared not about such things; Naruto taught her better and taught he did.
Hence, she quickly slipped into the embassy while Naruto went straight to the clerk, a typical Maormer with pale skin and eyes.
"Good morning, Ambassador Ulondil isn't here. And if he were, he'd be far too busy to deal with the likes of you." And there it was, the typical attitude against other races, to which Naruto replied with an eye roll.
"If he were here, I'd be asking for him," said Naruto while the clerk blinked rapidly in reaction.
"Oh…"
Naruto then began his distraction. Even the guard from upstairs came down to hear the ruckus, which Valritte used to enter the ambassador's quarters safely and do whatever she needed. However, she found her quarry rather quickly—the Khajiiti copy of the treaty—and thus, she departed in the same way she arrived.
"Well, that was rather quick," said Raz as he leaned on a post at the end of the bridge. "The spring in your step! Did you know a sense of accomplishment can change one's stride?"
Valritte raised an eyebrow, and Raz shrugged. "You learn to notice it in others."
"Ah, indeed. Here's the treaty," she replied, as she tucked out the treaty from her pouch and gave it to Raz, who quickly read through it with careful eyes. At that moment, Naruto returned to them with a big smile.
"…" Valritte said nothing and ignored him, though he kept smiling.
"We're not going to have fun here, sadly," said Raz after he finished reading, while Naruto nodded, still with a smile. "What's that about?"
Naruto finally spoke and said, "I know, the Silvenar is being watched by the Maormer… or I should say, he was…"
His face turned grim, and Valritte swallowed down her throat; that wasn't a face she often saw.
"What happened?"
"The Silvenar is dead."
The Green Lady, the other half of the Silvenar; strength of the Bosmer given form, sat outside a house, relaxed and ignorant of present situation, her face soft in the midday light. The usual intensity of her gaze had eased, but her senses remained sharp.
She looked up as Naruto, Valritte, and Razum-dar approached her with haste uncharacteristic of them.
"What's going on?" she asked, her eyebrows furrowed as she sensed something wrong.
Naruto stepped forward, his usual demeanour replaced by grim seriousness. He met her gaze, his face shadowed by what he had to say. "The Silvenar," he began slowly, measuring his worlds. We believe he has been attacked. "
The Green Lady's face flickered between disbelief and confusion. "Attacked?"
She blinked; the word seemed foreign to her at that moment. Her bond with the Silvenar was deep—surely, she would have felt something? But no. Panic began to bubble within her thoughts, but she pushed it down.
"It would be best if we see him… together."
Her heart skipped a beat as she watched Naruto's face. "He's inside the house," she muttered, trying to convince herself. Her voice faltered.
Without awaiting a response, she hurried toward the door, her heart pounding faster by the second. The three followed in silence, their steps heavy as if they already knew what awaited them on the other side. The Green Lady pushed open the door, and the moment she entered, she froze.
A faint, acrid smell in their nostrils—sulphur. Naruto realised. The room was dim, the usual warm glow replaced by a strange red miasma that hung in the air like a curse. The hairs on the back of the Green Lady's neck stood up.
"No…" she whispered, her voice breaking as her eyes landed on the still figure lying on the floor.
The Silvenar, the physical embodiment of the Bosmer's spirit, lay sprawled out, motionless. His skin, which had been once vibrant, was pale, drained of life. A dark stain of blood pooled beneath him, seeping into the cracks of the floorboards.
"No. No!" she cried. Her scream pierced the air, raw and filled with anguish. She fell to her knees beside him, her hand trembling as she reached for him. The bond between them—once vibrant, was now silent. Her breath came in ragged gasps as she struggled to process what her eyes saw. "This… this cannot be…"
Behind, stood the three, the weight of the moment pressing heavily. Valritte from her studies knew what this meant; her stomach twisted with a mix of pity and dread, not just for the Green Lady, but for the Bosmer as a whole. For there must always be a Silvenar and a Green Lady, if one dies, the other will follow eventually.
Razum-dar's usual jovial nature had faded, his face grim and eyes dark with sorrow. "We failed to protect him."
The Green Lady slowly lifted her gaze from the Silvenar's lifeless body, her eyes narrowing with a fiery intensity that threatened to consume her. Her tears, once streaming freely, stopped as her sorrow gave way to a deep, simmering rage.
"Who would want him dead?" muttered Valritte to herself, but the Green Lady heard her nonetheless, and she calmed herself down, but grief and anger remained apparent.
"None who'll survive the day," she growled, her voice low and dangerous. Her fists clenched, her knuckles turning white. "I am the unerring bolt," she continued, her voice trembling with fury. "Once loosed, I cannot stop until I pierce my quarry's eye."
"Finoriell."
All eyes turned towards Naruto. His voice was calm, but beneath it was a quiet command that could not be ignored. The Green Lady, Finoriell, looked up to him, her rage held in check by the weight of his words and the rare use of her birth name. His presence, combined with a subtle release of his power, brought her back from the brink of complete rage, grounding her in the reality of the moment.
For a beat, the room held its breath.
"You may be the bolt, but I hold the crossbow," said Naruto, his calm voice cutting through the tension.
The Green Lady's eyes narrowed, her grief simmering into rage. Her fists unclenched slightly, but her eyes still burned. "Then let me loose, my general," she growled. "Let me loose."
"I will," Naruto replied, his tone measured. "But not yet. You will have your vengeance, your justice, but not yet. We have yet to understand everything—you know well as I do; you don't have much time."
Finoriell's jaw clenched, and her ragged breath continued as she tried to hold back the storm brewing within her. "I will die soon," she said through gritted teeth. "Naruto… my general, the bond is broken. There is no saving me."
"I know," he said softly, meeting her intense gaze with his soft ones. "But you've known me for a long time; you know how we operate, and if you act without understanding who did this, you'll die for nothing—that I cannot allow."
Valritte stepped forward cautiously. "The Sea Elves are involved, no doubt, but there's something more here. Knowing the Maormer, whoever did this planned for a chaotic end."
Finoriell glared at her, but she let out a sharp breath after a long, tense pause. "Very well, Battlemage Palatine… what do you suggest?"
"We will find the truth," said Valritte, her eyes hardened with resolve. "The Maormer may be responsible, but we need concrete evidence. Darker forces are at work, and we will not let your final days go to waste chasing shadows."
Finoriell's fists tightened again, but this time, with reluctant restraint. "Fine," she said, her voice low as she cradled her dead husband. "… I will follow your lead again, my general, but do not tarry."
"We won't take long," replied Naruto as he nodded. "… you'll have your justice."
With a final glance, Naruto walked away from the grieving widow and with him, Valritte and Razum-dar.
Words were thrown, and arguments reached their peak within the Chancery when the authorities were informed; the Khajiit were horrified, the High Elves even more so, while the Sea Elves were angry. Ulondil, the Ambassador, and the Vicereeve Pelidil argued loudly and strongly, much to Harrani's displeasure.
Naruto ignored the two arguing mer as he picked up a report by Harrani's table. Parsing through the short reports, he was rather disappointed that this could have been avoided if she had pursued some of the notes she received.
His voice cut through Valritte's thoughts as she stood by, watching Ulondil and Pelidil storm out of the room in separate directions. "Val, c'mere," he called, gesturing for her to approach Harrani's desk, where he was thumbing through a report.
"What?" she asked as she stepped over, her eyes still following the two elves.
Naruto frowned, holding up the stack of papers in his hand. "Harrani received warnings about Maormer movements days ago. Reports of their activity were scattered throughout, but no action was taken."
The half Altmer, half Nord battlemage furrowed her brow. "This could've been prevented?"
Naruto nodded grimly, his expression darkening by the moment. "If they had followed up on these leads, we might have saved the Silvenar. But that's in the past now. What matters is what we do next."
Harrani, overhearing the conversation, sighed deeply, her frustration palpable. "This one's hands were tied. There were too many factors to consider… but you are right. We failed."
"It's not your fault, Harrani. You merely acted on behalf of your people, but… the Green Lady is losing patience," stated Valritte as she shook her head, the tension in the room weighing on her shoulders.
"What do we do next?" Razum-dar asked as he watched Naruto set down the report and straighten.
"Val, go to the warehouse and see if you find anything; I'll check the ship," he said, then turned to Raz, who perked up. "Go to the apothecary, check out the ledger."
Raz gave him an awry smile, "It seems the General has found himself working for the Dominion."
"Hah," chuckled Naruto before walking away. "Trust me, it's the other way around."
Valritte nodded at the instructions, her mind racing as she considered what might be waiting for her in the warehouse. Razum-dar gave a sly grin before disappearing into the bustling streets, his usual feline grace evident even in the hurried pace.
Now left alone with Harrani, Naruto straightened and gave her a nod before he departed toward the docks, where the Maormer ship Serpent's Kiss lay anchored. The sea breeze did little to clear the tension hanging over Mistral. The whole island seemed poised on the edge of a knife.
As he neared the harbour, he was met by the cold, suspicious stares of Maormer sailors. Their pale skin glistened in the sunlight, their sharp eyes following his every step as he approached the gangplank of their ship.
A tall, stern-looking Sea Elf, clearly the captain, blocked his path. "Get off my ship before I throw you off."
But Naruto stood firm, and the captain's eyes narrowed in the apparent defiance showed to her, hands resting on her hips. "Get off my ship," she repeated, her tone becoming colder.
However, Naruto met her icy gaze with calmness. "I need to get into your hold, Captain Irinwe," he said firmly but not aggressively.
"And I need a new rigging and a serving wench," Irinwe snapped back. "Too bad for us both." She took a step forward, lowering her voice dangerously. "Now, get off my deck before I keelhaul you."
He could feel the tension rising but kept his cool. He wasn't about to waste time with posturing. Slipping a small pouch of gold from his belt, he tossed it lightly toward the captain. The coins jingled as she caught it midair, eyes narrowing as she weighed it in her hand.
"You're trying to buy your way into my hold?" she asked with a sneer, but there was a flicker of interest in her gaze. The crew aboard the Serpent's Kiss had been quiet, and by this point, they had all turned their eyes away from them to see nothing.
"Consider it payment for your time," Naruto replied smoothly, calm but firm. "I'll be quick, and you can return to your business."
Captain Irinwe stared at him for a long moment before sighing, her sneer replaced with cold resignation. "Three minutes," she muttered through clenched teeth. "If my sailors see your hands where they shouldn't be, I'll keelhaul you myself."
Naruto descended into the ship's hold, the creaking wood beneath him echoing in the confined space. The hold was dimly lit, the smell of saltwater and wood heavy in the air. The deeper he went, the more he could sense something off. There was a layer of deception here—carefully hidden, but not for long.
Unlike most Maormer ships, the Serpent's Kiss seemed unusually well-equipped for more than just standard naval operations or diplomatic work. Deep blue eyes scanned the hold, and he found what he was looking for: crates stacked in the farthest corner, bearing markings unfamiliar to most—but not to him.
Naruto knelt, prying one crate open. Inside, he found weapons, armour, maps, and other paraphernalia, all marked with the insignia of the Sea Vipers, pirates. His eyes narrowed as he sifted through the items, realising the full extent of the ship's involvement in piracy—the Serpent's Kiss crew is part of the Sea Viper's fleet and are pirates themselves.
"Ah, and the Dominion knew no better…" he muttered as he placed everything back in its proper place. "This ship would have never been allowed to dock in Mistral if everyone knew."
Just as he finished, he heard footsteps approaching. He sensed Captain Irinwe coming down, and indeed, there she was, by the doorway of the hold, arms crossed and her eyes burning with suspicion. She scanned the room, but Naruto had been careful—nothing was out of place.
"What did you find?" she asked, her voice dripping with mistrust.
Naruto stood slowly, meeting her gaze without flinching. "Exactly what I expected. I must say, well done."
Irinwe's expression darkened, but she didn't reach for her weapon. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Naruto gave her a knowing look, his voice low and calm. "Sea Vipers, you are."
Her posture stiffened, her hand brushing the hilt of her sword, but she made no immediate move to draw it, given that she couldn't really see Naruto other than his face, because of the cloak that hides his body. "You don't know what you're talking about."
Naruto took a step closer, his tone lowering to match the tension in the air. "Ambassador Ulondil plans to capture Khenarthi's Roost… I know you and your crew working with him. I'm not here to kill you, Captain. You can still walk away from this."
Irinwe's eyes narrowed as she weighed his words. "And why would I do that? The Dominion doesn't know, and they will never find out."
Naruto tilted his head slightly, amused, which irritated Irinwe. "Do you think I work for the Dominion? You're a captain with the Sea Vipers, and you don't recognise me?"
His cloak fell, and the captain beheld an Imperial armour of unknown origin and material, but one thing was clear: the red diamond in the heart of his plate armour glinting under the darkness of the hold. Irinwe stepped back, fear started to grip her mind.
"… you… you're General Uzumaki… the Bane of King Orgnum," she whimpered, apparently realising how badly she found herself. "… year after year, you would battle King Orgnum and his armada before we even reach Summerset and kill our kind in numbers."
Irinwe's initial confidence seemed to falter as recognition of Naruto's identity washed over her. Her eyes darted briefly toward the crewmen on deck, who remained unaware of the rising tension below. Alone with the man who had dismantled the Pyandonean Armada time and time again, she stood at a crossroads.
Tamriel may not know much about General Uzumaki, but Pyandonea knew his name well. He was not just a threat but a force of nature, a harbinger of countless failed Maormer encroachments on Summerset and Tamriel in general.
Fearless, the Maormer were, as they ravaged the southern coasts of Tamriel, but little did Tamriel's people know, the Maormer knew fear.
By the name of Uzumaki.
Maelstrom.
Valritte made her way toward the Old Sawdust Mill, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the quiet streets of Mistral. The town buzzed with the usual chatter, but here, it was silent. The warehouse loomed ahead, its wooden beams weathered by salty sea air, and the faint sound of creaking wood echoed from within.
She slipped inside. Her footsteps were light, barely a sound—a part of her training under Naruto. The space was cluttered with crates and barrels, dust motes swirling in the air, and the faint scent of mould and aged wood filled her nose.
Her senses heightened as she moved deeper into the warehouse, keeping low. Her eyes scanned the room, searching for anything unusual, anything out of place. Footsteps interrupted her thoughts, and she ducked behind a stack of crates. A Maormer sailor, clearly working for the Sea Vipers, given how she had encountered them already, crept inside. Valritte watched in silence as the spy moved swiftly, her movements suggesting urgency and familiarity with the space.
The spy muttered something under her breath, pulling a folded note and hiding it within a crate. "No one here, perfect," the Sea Elf said as if confirming the absence of any intruders.
Valritte stayed perfectly still, watching from the shadows. The spy finished her task and vanished through the nearby window, disappearing into the streets with a puff of smoke. She waited, her muscles tense until she was certain she was alone again.
With the coast clear, she approached the crate and carefully pried the loose panel. Her finger brushed against the folded note, and when she unfolded it, her eyes scanned the contents, understanding that it was a report.
"Unwelcome Visitors," she read aloud, her voice barely a whisper. It was a report on the Maormer plans on Khenarthi's Roost. Through the use of cryptic nicknames and coded references, she quickly pieced together the heart of the message.
"The Maormer will attack the Dominion forces… and Khenarthi's Roost," she murmured, her voice low but filled with realisation. She then tucked the report into her satchel, knowing she had to get this information to Naruto and Razum-dar.
The sun had begun its slow descent when Valritte, Razum-dar, and Naruto converged at Canebrake Market, Mistral's central hub where trade and chatter seemed distant under the looming threat of a Maormer conspiracy. Valritte came and saw Razum-dar petting a cat, and they both saw Naruto, back in his cloak, walking calmly towards them.
"So, anything good?" Naruto asked, straight to the point.
Valritte handed him the report she had taken from the warehouse. "They are planning an assault, unleashing a Tempest, whatever that is, towards the island. They will strike both the Dominion garrison and the island.
Razum-dar stepped in, producing the ledger he had taken from the apothecary at the Hissing Phial. "This one has confirmed it. Someone—Sea Viper agents most likely, have been buying Daedra hearts, blood, and sulphur. No names, paid in full."
"Also, this one returned to the crime scene, and found this vial of poison," said Raz as he handed Naruto a vial.
Naruto eyed the dark red sludge within the vial, its slow, viscous movement almost unsettling. "Poison… now I can see it," he muttered.
The mixture of Daedra's heart and blood, plus sulphur, was potent—enough to kill even the Silvenar.
Valritte took the vial from him, nodding as she pierced together the final details. "It all adds up. A poison made from Daedric ingredients—perfect for assassination."
"Take it to Finoriell," Naruto ordered. "She'll know what to do this."
Valritte nodded and set off to find the grieving Green Lady. Meanwhile, Raz slipped into the shadows, preparing for more investigation, leaving Naruto to his thoughts.
"You can trace the scent of the poison, can't you?" Kurama's deep voice rumbled within Naruto's mind.
Naruto's eyes narrowed slightly. "I already have," he replied silently. "I just needed Val to bring Finoriell along. Once we have her, we'll follow the scent trail straight to the assassin."
As Valritte and Finoriell followed the red miasma trail left by the poison, they arrived near a bridge where Naruto was already waiting for them, calm and focused. The eerie glow from the trail intensified as Finoriell's spell on Valritte gave her sight of odour trails.
"I see you two following the poison's trail," said Naruto as the two elves approached him.
Finoriell's eyes burned with anger. "Where does it lead?"
Naruto nodded ahead. "To an abandoned house nearby. The assassin is preparing a ritual inside; he knows he is being tracked."
The three followed the trail and came upon a house, its broken-down walls loomed. Finoriell's fury grew by the second as her fists clenched tightly, the glow of miasma intensifying from within.
Naruto gestured toward the house. "We need to move now."
Valritte drew her blade on the right, while a spell formed with green energy on her left, while Finoriell's gaze hardened with resolve. Without hesitation, they pushed forward, entering the dilapidated building. Inside, the assassin was hovering above the floor, preparing to cast a spell against them.
"Die!" shouted the assassin as he released a blast of dark magic. But before it could hit, a dome of green energy surrounded them—Valritte's spell negating the magic entirely. The assassin fell to the floor, and in that moment, Finoriell charged forward, her strike swift and merciless, incapacitating the assassin from any further movement.
She held the assassin on the ground, and the Sea Elf protested. "Covered my tracks. Couldn't have found me!"
"Tell me, who killed the Silvenar?" a strange calm tone from Finoriell as she held the assassin down.
The assassin hesitated, then admitted finally. "I followed orders. Daedric poison… for the Wood Elf and his mate… they had to be removed."
Blue energy gathered on Finoriell's hands as she held down the assassin. "On whose orders?" she demanded, pushing harder.
"Ulondil!" cried the assassin, gasping. "The ambassador… it was his orders!"
Finoriell sighed softly, her voice now eerily composed. "There, there… you did what you had to do."
With a flick of her hand, blue motes of energy swirled around the assassin, ending his life as swiftly as the revelation had come.
"As did I," Finoriell whispered coldly.
Naruto and Valritte stood silently, watching as the assassin's body slump as the room fell into a tense quiet.
The sun had almost set as the three approached the bridge near the Maormer embassy, and there, they came upon Ulondil, deep in conversation with Harrani and Vicereeve Pelidil. Arrogance can be heard in his voice as he claims innocence, presenting the apothecary as a scapegoat.
"Ah, the errant deputies," greeted Ulondil, unaware of the storm brewing behind Naruto, in the form of the short stature of Finoriell. "I was just informing Headwoman Harrani about the apothecary's connections to the High Elves. Once the torture begins, we'll learn why the Dominion killed their own diplomat."
Naruto raised an eyebrow. "You assassin told us everything. You ordered the Silvenar's death."
Ulondil's smirk wavered. "My what? Do you mean the apothecary? He was never in my employ."
"The assassin brewed a poison made of Daedric ingredients to kill the Silvenar under your orders," retorted Naruto sharply.
The ambassador's bravado cracked. "The Green Lummox and her husband lie dead! There's nothing left to stop us." He scoffed.
It was then that Naruto took a step aside, revealing Finoriell alive and seething, eyes locked on the Maormer diplomat. "The Green Lady isn't dead, as you can see," Naruto said, his voice colder than Skyrim's winter.
Ulondil paled, stumbling back, not accepting what he was seeing before his eyes. "You're lying! She must be dead, or she'd have come for me—" His voice quivered as Finoriell took a step forward. "She's coming for me, isn't she?"
Panicking, Ulondil turned and fled toward the embassy. "The tempest is coming! You cannot stop it!" he yelled over his shoulder.
"Sea-rat coward!" snarled Pelidil. "I'll give your head for this!"
But it was the Green Lady that rushed forward, her words sharp as steel. "I have his scent. And soon, his heart."
Harrani's voice trembled with frustration. "Stop, all of you! This madness ends now!"
With the situation escalating, Naruto nodded toward Valritte. "Val, go, now."
As Valritte pursued Ulondil into the embassy with Pelidil, following after the Green Lady, Naruto turned to Harrani. "The Maormer has betrayed Khenarthi's Roost, Headwoman."
The Khajiit was frustrated, and she argued with Naruto. "But this does not excuse mindless slaughter, general! We are better than our enemies."
Naruto's face did not change, however, and she continued. "Please, you must apprehend him. Don't let the Green Lady slaughter him like an animal. We must learn what they plan for the island."
He made no visible reaction as he finally went after the others, and when he came upon the embassy, he saw that it was deserted by the guards and staff. Though, he could feel the presence of the others upstairs and once he got there, he found Ulondil cowering at the door to his quarters, the Green Lady looming over him, rage seething from her.
Ulondil, trembling, begged towards Naruto. "Mercy! Please, save me from this madwoman!"
Naruto looked at him coldly. "You surrender?"
"I do! By all the gods, I do!" whimpered the ambassador.
With a sigh, Naruto approached the Green Lady, though she was in no mood for words. "General, move. Unless you don't mind the splatter."
Naruto looked towards Valritte, and his battlemage gained a look on her face, her eyes widening as if she were realising that Naruto was about to make a decisive move. The tension in the room was heavy now, the Green Lady's rage swirling openly like a storm.
Naruto's gaze hardened as ethereal chains materialised around Ulondil, binding him tightly to the wall. The sudden display of power sent a ripple of shock through the room, even Finoriell, her rage momentarily halted by the unexpected sight.
"I will ask you this once, Ulondil," began Naruto, his voice dangerously calm, even for Finoriell. "What is the Tempest?"
Ulondil's eyes widened in fear, his breath coming in shallow gasps. The smugness was long gone, replaced by utter fear, as he realised who Naruto was, like Irinwe before him, but he didn't know that. "… you! These chains… you're General Uzumaki?!"
His voice trembled; all his bravado had been replaced by sheer terror. Finoriell suddenly didn't mind; she found dark satisfaction in watching the ambassador squirm under Naruto's power.
Naruto was unfazed, however, and kept his gaze fixed on Ulondil. "Yes. Now, answer my question."
Sweat dripped down Ulondil's brow as he stammered. "It's… it's a Storm Atronach! The Sea Vipers have captured one… to destroy the whole island!"
Valritte looked toward Ulondil, taking over Naruto's questioning. Her voice was calm too. "A Storm Atronach, you say… and your plan is to destroy Khenarthi's Roost?"
Ulondil, now drenched in sweat as Naruto's chains held him up, nodded frantically. "Yes! The Sea Vipers captured one. They plan to unleash it soon. We have ships waiting offshore, ready to signal the attack. They've already been warned."
Then, he fell to the floor, the chains vanished, and Ulondil found himself looking up at the Green Lady, but Naruto paid no more attention to him as he turned to Pelidil.
"Vicereeve, inform Harrani, and sign whatever treaty you have." The High Elf did not need any further word and hurried off.
As Ulondil crumpled to the floor, trembling before the Green Lady, Naruto cast one final glance at him, but he knew what would happen next. He made no move to stop it, instead giving Finoriell the chance to finally exact her vengeance, though, he spoke. "Make sure to leave him conscious enough for questioning… I'll see you later, Finoriell."
Turning to Valritte, his voice calm, he said, "Let's go, Val, we have a battle to fight."
Though, before they left, a parting whisper came from Finoriell.
"Thank you, my general."
On an island across Tamriel in the Sea of Ghosts to the north, a pair of green eyes opened, and as she took her bearings, she noticed Nordic furniture and decorations.
"… I'm in Skyrim…" she whispered to herself. Looking down at her body, she found that she had been put on someone's clothes, perhaps a fisherman's wife.
"Oh, you're finally awake." She looked to see a Dark Elf woman, an officer of the Ebonheart Pact by the colours she wore. "Some fishermen fished you out of the sea some days ago and took you for dead, but you were breathing."
"You don't look like a Dominion soldier, so we didn't imprison you," continued the officer as the other listened silently, observing.
"Where am I?"
The Pact officer looked at some papers before answering. "Bleakrock Isle, northeast of Skyrim. Now, tell me your name, High Elf. What is it?"
Green met red, and there was a moment of silence before she replied.
"Valritte… Valritte Kjældsen."
A/N: And there we have; my apologies for the abovementioned reasons. Also, it's another Valritte waking up in Bleakrock Isle, so some shenanigans are happening as to why there's another version of her appearing in the other alliance.
By the way, as you may have noticed, some important characters actually already know Naruto, so as I typically do, the world around Naruto is already settled, and he has already made his mark, and we are simply going through his actions during the Interregnum, and eventually, as I plan, go through the canonical TES games.

-Lady Valritte Kjældsen, Battlemage Palatine of the Uzumaki Legions
