A/N I recently ran across a comment on a chat page that said despite how downhill Xander's character treatment went he remained the one Scooby you should avoid pissing off, because he had no problem using rocket launchers and wrecking balls to deal with his enemies. He didn't care about a little property damage to get the job done.

It should come as no surprise that Xander is about to go on the rampage.

Xander had been pressed against the wall separating the conservatory and the foyer while Phoebe talked to the sorcerer. It was clear the sorcerer had no clue techno vamps existed, let alone what one was capable of because he was broadcasting his intentions loud and clear. Xander came around the wall and fired his shotgun at the old sorcerer, who died with a surprised look on his weathered face, black blood splattering.

"Call Andy, Doris is a plant, she's really a demon." He told Phoebe, heading for the side door of the Manor, in full soldier mode, issuing orders as he went. "He was planning an ambush for you and Prue, Phoebe and the bitch intends to kill your Dad and Andy to make a run for the baby. I'll deal with the ones setting up the ambush, Andy and Prue can handle Doris. Cordy, call Wes and give him the specifics of the prophecy and have him notify the Watchers Council. Faith and Buffy's Slayer power comes from Magic, we have no idea how Magic being down might affect them. Leo, if he's right, Piper's going to go into labor today, call Ava and Lydia. You'll need Ava to deliver the baby and Piper is not leaving the Manor, they could attack anywhere. Cordy, call your parents and Daryl, make sure they stay hunkered down, there was nothing in that idiot's mind about knowing if they even exist, but that doesn't mean other demons aren't aware of it and could take advantage and go after them, with their Wards being down too. They're still soulless creatures and most of them still enjoy torture."

"How are you going to deal with this ambush?" Leo asked.

"Things are going to go boom. And when this day is over and Piper and the baby are safe, I'm going to have another conversation with the Elders. An apothecary is an agent of good Magic, that prophecy is centuries old, it took time for them to get a unicorn to Earth, all of which means they damn well knew it existed and that the baby could and would be in danger and those assholes never said a damn word." Xander was snarling, his eyes were glowing and his face had gone expressionless. "They know the Watchers Council studies prophecy, this prophecy could have been studied, steps taken to protect Magic and magical creatures, the innocent ones the sorcerer was so scornful of. How many are in danger right now and we can't do a damn thing to help or warn them?"

"And me? What are my orders?" Phoebe asked.

"Unicorns are inherently magical creatures from another world, that little baby gift may still have its power, which is probably why the Elders went to all the trouble to get it, work with Lydia to try to get some kind of Ward going. No one is going near Piper or the baby, not while we live to stand between them."

As the others scrambled to follow their orders, Xander headed for his and Cordy's place and the other supplies he kept on hand in the basement. Magic was great until it was blocked or fizzled or just plain went down. Than you needed alternatives and Xander had proven adept with alternatives. Simple household chemicals, cleaning supplies and a book that could be legally purchased meant Xander knew quite a few alternatives, which he'd already proven when he went after the ugly blob known as Balthazar, not to be confused with Belthazor, Cole's former demon half.

It was scary how easy it was to make homemade smoke bombs and explosives and if he hadn't been so angry and so scared that people who mattered to him where in danger, he might have taken a moment to think about the fact that what he was about to do was highly illegal and could have far reaching consequences.

Oh well, people he loved would be safe, that was the important thing. He took a moment to calm himself.

"Do it smart and there will be fewer consequences." He murmured. "Human security measures will still be in effect. That means security cameras, it's daytime, so that means potential witnesses. I need a human means of hiding my face and fingerprints to avoid leaving evidence. It's February, still cool even in California. A light scarf and gloves take care of those problems."

Glowing eyes needed to be covered with sunglasses too because they stand out. Once that was done, Xander loaded his arsenal in a duffel and drove to and parked a couple of blocks from the ambush site.

It was time to send a message.
