New connections

As I walked towards the main area where Lord Kagewaki resides, the fires began to illuminate the hallway. Lady Hojo was sharing with me the architect and the lords dedication to revive his family name and family.

As she kept walking, I couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy for the young lord. Like me, he's all that remains in this world.

I lost my family and siblings so young, they've become all but a distant memory. Fire and blood consumed my life, and was left mute. The smoke from lungs burned away my feeling and my ability to speak for a long time. I had to fend for my self. The villagers hated me and I was alone. Despite my fear of wolves, the only good thing my death ever brought me was him.

Lord Sesshomaru.

As Lady Hojo opened the pathway on the left side, I was greeted by a long table filled with food and a huge pig that was roasted to perfection. This was a little excessive.

"Greetings. Please have a seat. Since your my guest of honor" he said with a gentle smile.

I smiled and bowed.

"I am honored but this is a banquet I am not worthy of" I said.

"Despite the circumstances I which you were brought, think of this as my apology also." he said lightly.

I laughed so hard at his comment. How unexpected.

As I ate quietly and heard the soft breeze outside, it was truly peaceful and quiet.

"You've done a marvelous job at rebuilding the castle. I admire your determination." I said.

He tilted his head.

"Thank you. I often feel rather lost in its design. I truly hope I've succeed." He said

"Trust me, it's like stepping into the past. It's quiet eerie how similar it is." I said absently.

He stood still.

"So.. your truly have been here before." he said.

"This castle and the face you wear.. I'm sadly more aquatinted with then I care to speak off. " I said firmly. " Despite everything, I am grateful for staying the night. I hope your castle is everything you hope it is. But if I have anything to add, make it your own. Don't dwell so much about the past.

He stood quiet and stared at me.

It felt forever when he spoke.

"I would kindly offer you the same advice. Clearly we both are still trying to relive it" he said softly.
