Miguel stared, pouting at daddy as he spoke on the phone.

"Yeah, ok. Bye," Virgil caught sight of his child's face, "I'm not working, honest."

"Sounds like you are."

"I'm not, Bubba. It was just a quick call, not even from a client," he took Miguel's hand, rubbing the back of it, "Why don't we have a trip to the secondhand store and then we can go to the mall. Does that sound fun?"

He nodded, "What are we looking for at thrift stores?"

"Something fun," he led him off, "Thinking about getting into restoration. The videos seem like fun. And I figure if I do a good job you and Gunner can have vintage toys."

"Yeah," the giant nodded, following along.

Miguel found these second hand stores fascinating. Everything around him was vintage, and even though he was accustomed to it at this point, it was still so engaging. All these prehistoric little trinkets.

"Did they really think nothing of drinking radiation?"

Virgil shrugged, "To them radium sounded like a more useful caffeine. I'm sure there are a lot of things done now that are considered barbaric and disconcerting in your time."

"True," his eyes fell on a toy truck, "I like this."

It was a truck with merry-go-round on the back. It was broken to heck and back, but it was really cool.

"You like it, ok," Daddy put it in a basket, "Anything else?"

"Whats this?" He pulled out a box, inspecting it.

"Oh! A Lite-Brite! Me and Sharon had these," he took the box, "Man, this is practically brand new! Ok, absolutely."

"Are we still going to the Lego store?" Mig begged, "Please, please?

"Where did you hear about a lego store? Hm?"

"We've been to this mall before," he huffed, "I got a set before."

"No," daddy shook his head, "I think you're mistaken. There's no lego place here."

"No I'm not! You, me, mami, GG, the twins, Sharon and Adam went. And I got to get a lego set then," he pulled at the man's hand as Virgil snickered, "Daddy!"

"Ok, we can go. I just love seeing you so excited," he pat his hand, laughing at his teasing.

Oh how far he had come from being super shy and blushy. A year before he even called him or Jess mommy and daddy. Now look at him.

"I'm so proud of my boy," Virgil took Miguel's chin in his hand, "You know that?"

Mig leaned down into his palm, "You are?"

"Of course!" He smiled as Miguel lifting him off his feet in a hug, "You don't need to be out here emphasizing your height."

"Well, look who we have here," a voice called out, getting both their attention.

"Oh," Virgil looked over the multiple heads, "Well, look indeed. If it isn't the Justice league big hitters."

"Look at you, all grown up," Clark pat his head, a little surprised by Miguel gripping Virgil closer, glaring at the trio, "Oh! This is one of your sons, right? Why haven't we met him?"

"Its ok," daddy pat his hand, "He can be a little skittish."

"We had been hoping to see him for a while. Happy we finally managed," Clark corrected him, "You guys are surprisingly hard to catch."

"Yeah, that's what happens when you live a safe distance from Gotham."

"You should be ashamed, hiding such a cute baby," Diana grabbed Miguel's face, leaning towards him, "You're so adorable, yes you are!"

Mig slowly lowered Virgil back onto the ground, but didn't fully loosen his hold. He wasn't sure who these people were, but he liked the nice, tall lady.

"Yep, this is my oldest, Miguel," Virgil began the introductions, "Miguel, these are friends from my hero days. The one cuddling you is Diana, the one with the glasses is Clark, and this is Bruce."

"Hello, nice to meet you all," he waved to them, leaning Diana's affections.

"Is he supposed to be so much bigger than you both?" Clark whispered.

"Hes a liger. It can happen sometimes when powered beings breed," Virgil whispered back, "Our offspring can have one of our traits, both, or neither. It's why he's so tall and has a caramel complexion instead of a chocolate one."

Bruce glared at Static, giving him a disapproving scoff.

"Ah," Super nodded, having his ah ha moment, "Well he's very cute!" He pat Miguel's head, "He has your lips definitely Jessica's eyes."

"Thanks," the man snickered, "I've never seen you at the mall. Why are you guys here?" static questioned Batman.

Bruce shrugged, "Dick said you wanted us to meet you here."

"Did he now?" His friend was aware that he was out today but not where he had planned to be.

"He just sent me a message."

"Hey!" Barry hurried around the group, "So this is Miguel huh? Didn't expect this," he inspected 2099, "Big guy."

"Are all of you here?" Virgil forced a smile. Miguel was beginning to feel overwhelmed, gripping his caregiver's arm.

"What's wrong, not happy to see us?" He teased, "Trying to forget the fun you use to have? Bury the past?"

"I saw you guys like a month ago. But its my day to spend with him and he's still a bit iffy when it comes to a lot of new faces."

"Well y'know," Barry started, "You should join us. There's gonna be a party at Bruce's," he pointed to the aforementioned billionaire.

Static looked between Bruce's deadpan expression and Barry's crap eating grin, "Didnt you get in a lot of trouble last time you threw a party without his consent?"

"I approved of this one," Bruce nodded.

"Mean…it wasn't a lot of trouble," the speedster mumbled as he turned to Miguel, "Hi, how long has Virgil had you?"

"A while," he pulled Virgil's arm, eager to continue their outing.

"Well your dad should bring you too. Dick, Jason and the other kids will be there. So you won't be alone," he encouraged.

"Jon is excited about it," Clark nodded in agreement, "He'll get along fine. And probably make some friends."

"I'll think on it," Virgil started to walk, "Probably will."

"Why don't you both join us for a meal?" Diana suggested, "Wouldn't you like that?"

Miguel smiled weakly as she tickled his jawline.

"Another day, real soon. His social battery is depleting and his grip is starting to hurt."

"Sure he's not just hungry?" Barry appeared between the two, making Miguel more antsy.

"Lets let them finish having their day," Bruce insisted, trying to usher everyone away, "I'll send you the information for the party."

"Ok, great, see you then," he forced a smile through gritted teeth, "Loosen up, honey, daddy's coming now," he pulled at Miguel's hand.

The giant gasped, releasing him, "I'm sorry!"

"Its ok. Just gotta remember that I don't have spider strength," he rubbed his arm a minute before taking Miguel's hand, making a mental note to kill Roy.
