Prologue
Principal Wartz stepped up to the podium, scanning a sea of bored faces during the morning assembly. "A principal's job is never done," he muttered, longing for another cup of coffee.
He cleared his throat and began the morning announcements, saving the most important one for last – the new anti-bullying policy.
Wartz thought he'd successfully handled the delinquents, but parents flooded the district with complaints, blaming him for the school's 'bullying problem.' They demanded a strict, no-bullying approach, and the superintendent agreed, even suggesting the creation of a student-led club. Wartz had no choice but to comply. He was already on shaky ground with the superintendent, who was upset by his so-called "incompetence."
Some students gasped at the news, while others shrugged it off. Perhaps one student would've heard the announcement if she wasn't busy shooting spitballs at the back of a blond boy's head.
