Hey Everyone! Hope you are doing well! I wasn't going to write a second chapter, and if you hate it, feel free to ignore it. I did get a request to do a second chapter though, so it's dedicated to the brave soul that was willing to ask for more :) ask and ye shall receive. But truly, I've been there, wanting more of a fanfiction that the author says is a one shot. Hope this is good and you enjoy it even if it is kind of short! If you want more, I do have another Ninjago story called When the Battle is Done so maybe you'd enjoy that. No pressure though! Thank you for everyone who commented! I do read and love them! Enjoy - Lots of Love… Lorna:)

Lloyd woke up warm, too warm, actually. He shifted slightly only to realize that he was trapped in unforgiving, yet gentle arms. Kai, he realized. Kai was the only person who ran so warm, given his element. But that didn't make sense either, because though Kai ran hot, Lloyd was the only other person able to match his temperature. Why was he burning?

"Bigshot, you awake?"

Lloyd nodded, albeit slowly. He felt dazed and exhausted. Everything ached.

Kai ran a gentle hand through his hair before settling his hand over his forehead. "Your fever's been getting worse."

Lloyd just shrugged, unconcerned. He just wanted to sit in Kai's lap and stare blankly at the wall. He didn't want to fall asleep, but he didn't want to think either. He didn't shift in Kai's grasp as his brother ran a hand up and down his spine.

""I'm trying to draw the fever out, but healing was never my strong suit using my element." Kai said. Lloyd nodded. Fever, fire, heat. That was why he was burning. Kai was helping though, trying to pull the fever from his boiling blood and aching limbs.

"Kid, you're scaring me. Say something."

"M' tired," Lloyd said. Or tried to. It came out fairly slurred, quiet, and probably incomprehensible. Kai just nodded and brushed stray hair out of his face.

"Ok, bud. Go back to sleep. I'll keep trying to get your fever down."

Lloyd wanted to shake his head. He couldn't sleep, but he also didn't want to move. Instead, he kept his head firmly tucked into Kai's shoulder and watched the fascinatingly unmoving wall. There was a hand on his back, near his shoulder, and it felt like it was on fire.

Kai paused for a moment when he heard a small whine, weak and painful. He hated that his bubbly younger brother had been reduced to this, sick, tired and muted, like someone had hit dim on a light. "I'm sorry Lloyd, but I have to get rid of the fever somehow, it's only gotten worse." He winced when he touched Lloyd's overly warm skin. He wasn't used to anything running hotter than him and it scared him.

"Sorry, kno', s' ok. I'll get ver' it." Lloyd whispered.

Kai felt hollow as he focused on drawing in all the excess, damaging heat from Lloyd's veins. His hand started to feel warm, and Lloyd turned his head to hide it in Kai's neck. The heat flowed into him, dispersing as it met his own fire. Lloyd's hand tightened on his shirt, but he didn't make a noise of protest. Kai could have sighed in relief as Lloyd's temperature went notably down, until it was finally bordering on normal. He'd still feel crummy, but Kai wasn't going to risk the shock of drawing too much heat away and accidentally lowering his temperature beyond healthy. Lloyd could probably take it, taking power from Zane as well, but better safe than sorry. He pulled his hand away from Lloyd's shoulder and felt Lloyd sag in relief.

"Thnks'." He mumbled.

"Anytime bigshot." Kai waited until Lloyd's breathing had evened out before he gently set him back on Zane's bed. Kai wanted to punch something as he stood up and took in just how much the Overlord had hurt him. Even now, with the broken (mostly) fever and a couple hours sleep, Lloyd looked pale and small. He tried not to let that anger fester as he went to make sure they were still on course. Something was lighting up the radar.

"Samurai." Kai hissed with a grin. A large animatronic landed on the ship, and a figure jumped out and rushed to meet him.

"I thought you were supposed to stay with the other ninja." Kai said as Nya panted up the stairs.

"I was worried," was all she said, looking at Kai. "It's what older sisters do."

"You're the second youngest Nya." Kai laughed as he followed her around the ship, heading straight for where she knew Lloyd would be.

"Still older than him. Makes me an older sister."

"With the whole Tomorrow's Tea incident, he might be older than you." Kai nudged her shoulder teasingly.

"Whatever. Tomorrow's Tea didn't age him up that much." She rolled her eyes, casting a nervous look at the door. "Is he okay?"

Kai paused. "No. But he's better now."

She peeked through the door, her eyes going dark as she looked over the lone figure. "If you don't kill the Overlord and Pythor next time you see them, I will." She hissed.

Kai nodded solemnly.

The figure twisted in their peripheral, making the same whining noise Kai knew by heart to mean trouble. Nya put a hand on his shoulder.

"I'll steer the ship for the next couple hours. We'll probably be delayed due to a storm coming into Ninjago. Go take care of him." Nya nodded toward the door. Kai could have hugged her in that moment, had she not shove him through the door. Kai pulled Lloyd onto his lap and whispered reassurances to him until he fell back asleep.
