"Whose car-?" I began to ask as he moved to set the bag into the back seat before circling the car to get into the driver's seat.
"Emmett is driving my parent's car, since the SUV that we came in is current being fixed." He informs me as he skillfully backs up and drives out of the parking lot.
He drives us to the Starbucks, and buys us two of the same drinks from the night before.
"You realize that I am still angry with you, don't you?" I ask.
He nods, shrugging carelessly, "Yes, Bunny, I do. Your nose is twitching like crazy, and your eyes are staring daggers into the side of my head." He replies, flatly, as he pulls up to the firat window to pay.
I scoff, "My nose is not twitching." I grumble as I inconspicuiously reach up to touch my nose, sure enough, it's twitching like crazy.
He snorts, and turns to look at me before moving up to the second window to get our drinks.
"Stop making fun of me, you ass!" I grumbled, smacking his arm.
He snickers as he hands me both cups of coffee before he begins to drive.
I stare at him, before taking a sip from both coffees, smiling when I realize he got a caramel ribbon crunch.
"One of those is mine!" He complains.
I nod, "I know. I want the peppermint one. You can have the caramel." I tell him, smiling as he glares at me, playfully.
"Fine, but I want a sip." He tells me.
"Alright, deal." I concede, offering him the cup, and smiling as he grins and leans in to take a deep sip from my coffee.
"Fuck, what if I offer to buy you one every morning and take it to you personally, if you give me this one?" He asks.
I snort, "You don't need to do that. We can go halfsies. We drink both together." I tell him amused.
He nods before suddenly turning the car into a small diner. He buys us some food before heading in the direction of the massive cabin.
"You know, I am not really mad at you." I finally say after a while of driving.
He nods, "I know. You're mad at the situation, and I understand why." He replies as he pulls the car to stop, and grabs one of the coffee cups. "So, I am not offended, now come on, I want to show you something." He says as he gets out, with the food.
I blink and stumble to get out of the car before sighing and following him out, "I hope you aren't trying to lure me to a secluded area to have your wicked way with me, Mr. Cullen." I teased.
He snort and shakes his head, "If I wanted to have my wicked way with you… I would have done it in the car… We're just going to go sit in the gazebo that's facing the lake." He tells me.
I blink, "Impromptu date?" I asked.
He shakes his head, "No, this is us just hanging out… and keep getting to know each other," He says.
I give him a disbelieving look, "Oh?"
He nods, as continues to walk, sometimes telling me the location of a few other things, before continuing to walk.
Eventually we reach the massive gazebo, which is located a few feet away from the back patio, facing the lake.
I am surprised as we walk onto it. The gazebo is massive. Clearly created to withstand any weather condition. In the center of it is a large, underground, circular fire pit which is surrounded by cushions. There are steps leading down to it.
A few feet away, there is a large dinner table with eight seats, if not more, along with a bar which is on the right side, along with a wide and spacious outdoor kitchen. Comepleted with a grill, and stove.
"This place is amazing. Why do you guys have this out here when you have an amazing kitchen inside?" I asked.
He smirks, "The Cullens don't do things half ways." He says, causing me to laugh.
I can feel his eyes on the side of my face as I continue to laugh, and smile.
"What's so funny?" He asked, curiously.
I shake my head, snorting, as I turn away, bringing the coffe cup to my lips, taking a sip before licking my lips, with a groan.
Edward suddenly pulls the coffee from my hand, setting everything down on the counter before his pulling me flush against him, one hand wrapping gently around my neck as the other wraps around my waist, before his lips hungrily descend on mine.
We both groan fervently kissing, as the air blows around us.
The sound of a masculine voice suddenly speaking causes us to jump, as the hand around my neck moves to my hip.
"You know you can end up pregnant kissing like that!" Emmett calls from the back porch.
Edward groans, unwilling to move away as he uses one hand to flip him off before pulling away, pressing his forehead to mine.
"You gotta stop doing that shit." I pant, breathlessly.
He groans, as a smile appears on his face, "I can't help myself, everything you fucking do turns me on…"
I snort, "See, you are like every other guy, you pig." I snark.
His already dark eyes gleam, "No, I am not." He says.
I raise a brow at him, tilting my head, "Oh, what makes you different?" I asked.
The smirk on his face makes the hairs in the back of my neck stand, "The difference, my sweet little bunny, is that I know what I have, and I don't play games. If I want something I will get it… one way or another." He says.
I humph, "So, that's it, huh? You wanted me and now you have me? Like a fucking object. What are you going to do once you get bored, huh? Pawn me off on someone else?" I ask, sarcastically.
"The way I see is… I've only had a sample of you… A small, little taste… the way I see it is… I will never get tired of your taste, your smell, or the way your skin feels against mine. To clarify, I will never tire of you… I won't grow bored of you… what's more the only day you'll truly be mine is when I place a ring on that finger and you and I say 'I do'." He tells me with a hidden emotion in his voice.
I feel as my heartbeat increases from the look in his eyes, as he smirks again. "Hermosa, mi cielo, vita mia, amore del mio cuore… you are my life now, sweet, sweet Bee and I will do anything for you, to protect you and keep you safe.." He finally says before taking my hand and leading me to the table.
He silently pulls out a chair for me, before sitting next to me.
The entire time that we ate, his hand stayed on my thigh.
We had a good time by making small talk and joking around, while he would sometimes tell me something that Emmett had done while growing up, causing me to laugh.
By the time we had finished eating, it was sometime after twelve. We decided to stay outside and enjoy the weather, moving from the table to sit on one of the seats surrounding the firefit.
We sat there staring ahead.
"I know you probably don't want to talk about what happened last night… but we need to." He says.
I nod, as he wraps his arm around me, and pulls me closer to his side. "I know." I mumble.
"What do you want to do?" He asks.
I sigh, before pulling away, and sitting up. "Well, I was going to take a Plan B, but I am waiting until later tonight. Also, I want to start sleeping in my own room, if that's okay." I told him.
He sighs, but nods in response, "I understand." He responds.
"On the off case that it doesn't work, we should talk options." I told him, calmly.
He nods, "On the off case that it doesn't…?" He asks.
I turn away, and get to my feet, walking a few feet away, "Then we discuss other options. Adoption… abortion… all the other options." I finally answer, staring ahead instead of looking away from him.
I can feel the tension as I stare ahead, trying not to panic at the thought of being a mother… and ending up the same way as mine did.
"Isabella?" He calls, as I feel his hand wrap around me.
I rub a hand over my chest, trying to ease the sudden tightening I felt, as my hands began to shake.
"Vita mia?" He asks, sounding distant.
I try to swallow hard around the knot that forms in my throat, as I push it all away, but it's useless. My fingers begin to feel tinglely on the tips as well as my toes. Then I feel as my arms begin to feel like lead as I feel my lungs become heavier.
"Bunny? Bunny?! Isabella, can you hear me? What's wrong?" He asks, panicked, yet muffled, far away.
I try to respond only to realize that my lips and face have gone numb, and I can't respond.
I can feel him, and hear him, but I can't respond. It doesn't worry me, this has happened before, just not often.
As he stand before me, I feel myself blink, before my eyes roll to the back of my head, and everything goes dark.
Edward's POV:
I barely had time to catch her as I feel her go limp in my arms.
It all happened so, fast.
Next thing I know, Rose was calling the family doctor, and now we're waiting to hear what is going on.
"What the hell did you do?" Rose demanaded, as Emmett wrapped an arm around her waist, to hold her back.
I shook my head, "Nothing, we were talking about what happened. Then I asked her what we would do if the Plan B didn't work, the options, and she suddenly got up and tensed. The next thing I knew, she passed out in my arms." I told her.
She sighs, "You- You two were talking about the- shit." She whispered before tapping Emmett's arms and rushing in the direction of Bunny's room.
I looked over at Emmett who stared after her, with an unfathomable expression, "Leave her alone, Ed. Now is not the time to be acting like a hot head." He tells me.
I sigh, before nodding and looking at the window. "I know, but she does need to answer when she comes back." I respond before heading out of the room.
I make my way onto the back porch, and sat there.
I kept telling myself that she is going to be kay. alright, that she'd be okay. But the tension and anxiety roll off of me in waves.
When I finally heard the door open, and turned to see Rose come out with a calm expression, I forced myself to be calm again.
"Relax, Edward, she-she's fine now. All she needs is rest." She tells me.
"Why did she react like that? What happened to make her like that?" I asked.
She turns to look away from me, before taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, "What did Bella tell you about her past?" She finally asks.
"Nothing, she's- she's let me know bits and pieces here and there." I tell her honestly.
She nods, "Then listen, you're not here to listen, and I am not here to tell you. But Bell has a traumatic past. More than you could possibly imagine." She tells me.
I blink, "What happened?" I asked.
She sighed, and shakes her head before turning to look at me, "Look, she's going to kill me when she finds out that I told you but her father kicked her out just a few days after her mother's funeral. He then moved in Sue, and her two kids. I immediately brought her to my house, my parents became like the parents she needed. Took her in, practically forcing her to get into Seattle U, paid for it. They've loved her like their own. Unfortunately for us, we haven't been able to shield her from the darkness of this world. One night, while she was walking home from class, a man hurt her by taking the one most precious thing she held." She explains as I get up.
I feel fire fill my blood as I get to my feet. "Who the fuck was it? Did they get him?" I demanded, angrily.
She nods, "As far as I know, he was in prison. I haven't checked yet as of lately." She replies.
I shake my head as Emmett comes out.
"I'm not done. She had PTSD." She adds.
I turn away, wanting so badly to punch something to relieve the anger I felt towards myself, and that filthy mongrel.
Emmett, clasps my shoulder, in a calming manner. "Ed… calm down. She's overcome a lot. She's strong." He tells me.
"Why is she scared to have kids?" I finally ask.
Rose sighs, before looking at me, "She's afraid, Edward. She is scared she'll end up being like her father. Or end up like her mother." She tells me, tearfully.
The air flies out of me in a sharp breath as I feel Emmett move to help me sit, "What?" I gasped.
She nods, "She is the one who found her mother. It's why she refused to get close to anyone, preferred to hold everyone at arms length besides my parents and I." She answers, as a tear falls down her face.
I want so badly to run inside the cabin, and look for her, and just hold her but my legs won't move.
"She's overcome everything except that. But I know your different, which is why I told her to give you a chance. So, don't hurt her." She tells me, earnestly.
I nod, "I don't plan to." I replied, before looking over at Emmett. "I do however plan to make the mongrel who hurt her, if it's the last thing I do." I replied, before getting to my feet and moving towards the door as Emmett follows me.
"Where are you going?" She asks us.
I turn slowly to face her, "To do one thing I can do." I tell her.
She shakes her head angrily, "Save your vengeance for another day, Mase, now your Bella needs you." She says as she juts her chin in the direction of Bunny, who is standing in the doorway staring at us.
