Harry wasn't sure if he wanted to laugh or cry as he looked through one of the ancient tomes that was being sold by one of the local magic shops, Uncle Bob's Magic Cabinet. The knowledge in the book was worth far more than the trifle that the clerk wanted for the book or at least it was to him. The fact that he could see magic on the book meant that someone had used magic around the book which increased the chances of the spells inside of it working. The fact that just about everything in the shop had magic in it except for one cabinet that was filled with touristy crap also helped assure him that the rituals were probably legitimate.
He had decided to check on the magical side of things while the girls dealt with setting up the computers and game systems they bought. It wasn't that he didn't want to spend time with the girls or Xander or Willow, he did, it was just that he had a time turner and it was easy to flip back a couple of hours and go shopping. Playing video games and relaxing sounded fun but he wanted to get an idea of what new types of magic they had that he could use to keep his family safer.
He glanced at the shopkeeper and had to shiver slightly at the idea of a guy barely more magical than a squib having access to some of the books in the shop. Then again maybe that was for the best as it probably kept him more honest. The ancient book in front of him had a ritual that dealt with time loops and how to create them. He was fairly sure that the Ministry back home would have killed anyone with a tome containing a ritual that played with time. Being able to set up a time loop that reset to a particular point in time yet allowed you to keep your memories was too good of a ritual to pass up as far as he was concerned. He was hoping that he could use the time field to perfect a couple of otherwise dangerous rituals. That and exploring dangerous areas would be a heck of a lot easier if he could just reset things if things went wrong.
He added the time book to his stack of books on identifying various types of demons. He walked over to the section on crafting magical items and picked out a couple of tomes as well as some books on famous and powerful magic items. He walked over to the smaller section of the shop that contained books on wand magic and grabbed a book on crafting wands and other magical foci. He had never heard of using anything other than a wand but it might be nice to have a backup focus.
The shopkeeper looked at the pile of books Harry was stacking up on a cart, "Can I help you find anything else Miss?"
It took Harry a second to remember that he had disguised himself as a girl. He smiled, "Not yet but I'll probably be back. Do you prefer gold or cash?"
The shopkeeper smiled, "Either is fine. I've got a pair of scales in the back to make sure the gold isn't Leprechaun gold or fake."
Harry said, "Gold it is." as he walked over to the counter and set his large collection of books on it. Thankfully his gold was worth a lot more on this side of the pond than it was back home. He shrunk the books and put them in his pockets after paying for them. "Thank you."
The shopkeeper smiled, "You're very welcome Miss."
Harry left the shop walked around the corner and into the alley before pulling out his wand and transfiguring his clothes to look different. He concentrated on 'his' hair and changed it to blond. He adjusted his face a bit and changed his eye color with his metamorphmagus abilities. He put his wand away, pulled his sleeve down to hide his wand holster then walked back into the shop and collected the ingredients for a couple of attempts at the time loop ritual. He set the materials on the table and paid with cash then left.
He let out the breath he was holding three blocks away as he walked into an empty alley, "That was easier than I thought it would be." He checked to make sure that no one could see him then he flame teleported back to the mansion and unloaded his books. He checked the time, "Okay, three hours and twenty three minutes before anyone gets back that means I have plenty of time to read through the book and set things up."
Forty minutes later he had the section on the time loop mostly memorized and he had the pronunciation worked out in bits and pieces on a bunch of different pages of notebook paper that were sprawled out on his table. Another ten minutes and he had his first time field up and operational. He looked at the two thin glass rods he was using as focuses for the spell. "If I did this right then things will reset if I break the red rod and the loop will break if I break the green one." He picked up the red rod then walked into the kitchen where Sirius was enjoying his tea. "I'm working on a project."
Sirius asked, "Oh?"
Harry said, "Yep. I could use your help." He pointed his wand at the table and transfigured it into a rat. He turned his wand on the counters and turned them purple.
Sirius frowned, "What's the project?"
Harry said, "I'm playing around with time magic."
Sirius stared at Harry, "Are you insane?"
Harry smirked as he broke the red rod then found himself back in his room with both rods sitting on the table like he had started the loop with. He picked up the red rod and walked into the kitchen. The table was back to what it had been before he transfigured it, the counters weren't purple and more important than that Sirius was calmly drinking his tea without a care in the world, something that he certainly wouldn't be doing if he knew that Harry was playing around with time magic. He felt like laughing or crying as he realized that the spell had worked.
Sirius looked up, "What's up? Shouldn't you be in town with the girls?"
Harry said, "I just teleported back to grab something, figured I'd check in."
"So it's going well?"
"Better than you can imagine actually."
"Good."
Harry said, "I should get back." He laughed gleefully as he teleported across the ocean to Borgin's shop, sadly he wasn't prepared for the curse that caused most of his internal organs to explode a second after he appeared. Thankfully he 'woke' up back in his room after a second of looking at the ceiling wondering when the hell the bastard had installed new wards.
Harry patted himself down and sighed in relief as he realized that he wasn't injured or at least only his pride was injured. He reached down and grabbed the red glass rod and slipped it into his pocket. He walked over to his trunk, pulled out his invisibility cloak and wrapped it around himself. "Let's try that again." He teleported to Knockturn Alley and looked around. He noticed that there was a fair number of creepy looking hags, wizards and witches walking around the dark street. Some of the shops were closed though most of them were apparently still open. He glanced at what should have been Borgin's shop and read the sign over the door, "Natasha's Nasty Nightstand." He sighed as he walked in and a guest of wind that couldn't be natural blew his hood off his head, 'This would have been a lot easier if Borgin was running the place.'
Looking around the place almost hurt as it was filled with rolling clouds of dark magic. Okay, so he was fairly sure that no one else saw the clouds of dark magic but the décor looked even worse than Borgin's shop in his world. There were a couple of pelts on the walls behind the counter that looked suspiciously like werewolf pelts. A couple of nasty dark weapons that oozed glowing venom caused him to pay a lot of attention to where he was walking as he looked around the creepy shop. The shrunken heads were normal enough if still freaky. There were a couple of skulls with glowing eyes that seemed to follow him as he walked through the shop.
A moderately attractive black haired woman in her early twenties looked at Harry, "Harry Potter? In my shop? How can I help you?"
Harry gulped as he realized that he had shifted back to his normal appearance before he started the loop and had forgotten to disguise himself. 'Idiot rookie mistake.' He said, "I'm looking for books on demon summoning."
The woman's smile was cold and more than a little bit inhuman, "Ah, I see, you're hoping to find something to use to kill Voldemort, yes?"
Harry figured there was no point denying it. "Do you know of anything that could kill him?"
"Some of the upper level demons would have an easy time killing him or any wizard."
"How come they weren't used to deal with him?"
"They charge more than you'd want to pay and he has contracts with several groups which means that hiring demons to attack him would probably backfire rather spectacularly."
"I have gold."
She snorted, "What are they teaching in defense these days? Only rarely do demons want gold or at least not the ones that you'd have to deal with to get rid of him. Let's ignore the fact that summoning major demons is illegal as the unforgivable and talk about price. You'd most likely have to trade part of your magic or your soul in order to get one of the greater demon's help in destroying him and even then you might not be able to tempt a demon that actually can kill him."
Harry sighed, "There goes that idea."
The shopkeeper said, "Don't be too hasty, there are other options than trading away your soul you know."
"Oh?"
"Summon a demon and bind him, summon another demon and sell the first demon to the second demon, maybe for a favor or a bit of lore or something that you can use to bind a larger demon. Basically work your way up until you have some currency."
"That sounds messy."
The shopkeeper said, "The dark arts are often messy and yet so very rewarding, though now that you mention it I have something that might help."
"What's that?"
The shopkeeper smiled as she reached behind the counter and pulled out a brownish horn, "Do you know what this is?"
Harry shook his head, "Sorry, it's obviously magical but beyond that no." He wasn't sure but he was fairly sure that he smirk increased when he admitted that he didn't know what the strange horn was.
"It comes from a demon, he'll I'll show you." She quickly hit him with a curse to paralyze him.
Harry crashed to the floor of the shop, "What the hell?"
The woman walked around the counter, "You come into my store and start asking about extremely dark arts? Demon summoning of all things, you can't honestly expect me to believe that you're not working for someone that wants to put me out of business. Thus, I can't let you live, nothing personal but it's just bad for business."
Harry stared at the horn in her hands as she approached, "What is that?"
"It's a Tak horn, it allows a person to steal another's life essence or youth. It's how I keep my girlish figure and health. Don't worry it only hurts for a little while.
Harry screamed in agony as the dark witch stabbed him and he felt his life rushing out of his body. Thankfully it only took a couple of seconds for him to die and end up back in his room none the worse for wear other than some memories he could do without. "Fucking bitch!" He tested a couple of spells and was relieved to find that his magic and life force was intact which meant that everything other than his memories reset which was both good and bad.
He grabbed the red thin glass rod and put it in his pocket then shifted his appearance look more like Draco, grabbed his copy of the elder wand and flame teleported back to Knockturn alley. He cast a protection shield around him then stepped into the shop. He felt the shop's magic push against the protection spell but his shield was holding for now. He raised his wand, pointed it at the woman behind the counter and shouted, "Reducto!" He was not prepared for a shield to spring up over the counter to block his curse though he probably should have been. He dodged out of the way of her counter attack. He tossed another spell at her then dove behind a display as the woman's fireball ripped through the air where he had just been. He cast spell after spell at the witch, sadly she knew exactly where to stand to let the preset wards block the spells as she rained down spell fire at him. Either that or she simply raised her hand and deflected his spells off to the side. It made him realize just how good he was at combat magic or at least combat magic in this world. Thirty seconds later he found himself back in his room thanks to a strangulation curse that had managed to get through his shield.
Harry scowled, "Bloody hell. I hate dying." He picked up the red rod again and slipped it in his pocket. He took a breath then let it out as he worked on calming down. "I need a new plan." He grabbed his coin purse, shifted to look more like Draco than himself and flash teleported to Knockturn alley. He stepped into the shop and spared the witch a glance. She was looking at a catalog and other than a brief glance when he walked in she wasn't paying him all that much attention. He was just relieved that she didn't remember his previous trips here.
He picked up a basket and walked over to the shelf that contained books. He recognized a couple of them but others were different. He piled the books in the basket then walked over to the death necklace and used his wand to drop it in his basket. He grabbed the Hand of Glory by the back so that it couldn't grab him and hauled it and his basket to the counter. "I'd like to check out."
The woman looked at the collection then at Harry, "That is a very dangerous necklace and the books are expensive."
Harry set his coin purse on the table and started counting out gold. "Is that a problem?"
The woman smiled coldly, "Of course not, Mr.?"
Harry thought of Sirius, "Grim."
"Pleasure doing business with you Mr. Grim." She rang up the necklace, the hand and the various books. She really didn't care what fake name the kid used, it wasn't good for business to care.
Harry paid her, "I'll double the price if you remove the various tracking charms on the books."
The Shopkeeper smirked as she removed most of the various tracking charms off the books. "There you go."
Harry knew she had left a couple of charms on the books but he was fairly sure he could duplicate the spells she had used so that he could remove the rest. He paid her the extra gold, accepted a free expanded bag and left the shop. 'I've got another two and a half hours before things reset if I did the spell correctly.'
He teleported back to his room and started reading over the books that he had bought. He wanted to know which ones to buy for the next time around.
Roughly two and a half hours later his books vanished and he found himself staring at the pronunciation notes and glass rods on the otherwise empty table. He checked his money bag and found that it had reset just like it should. He smiled as he reached out and grabbed the thin red rod and put it in his pocket. He picked up his coin purse and stuffed it in a pocket. "The best part is I'm not even tired." He thought over the books that he had skimmed. "I can learn in a loop which should help a lot." He smiled then shifted into something close to Malfoy before teleporting back to Knockturn Alley. He walked into the shop, collected the book he wanted, paid for the book then walked out without any issues. Apparently buying one book was a lot more common than buying out the store's whole selection. He teleported to the Shrieking Shack and worked on reading the book about greater demons. He had just gotten to the good part when an hour later five Ministry officials apparated in to ruin his reading experience.
The lead Auror said, "You have been accused of buying forbidden material with the intent to use it. Where did you purchase the book?"
Harry opened his mouth to answer them only to find that his tongue was tied and he physically couldn't make the words form. 'Bitch hexed the books. I guess Hermione was right about learning more from failure than success at times.' He said, "Just a minute, I have the receipt in my pocket." He teleported to the hidden bathroom in Gryffindor with his book. He pulled out his wand and worked on removing the various tracking charms so that he could continue reading the rest of the book without interruption. Sadly, thirty seconds later his hands started to turn black. Twenty seconds after that he was screaming in agony on the floor as his arms starting turning to ash very painfully. Thankfully he managed to flop around until the red stick broke which returned him to his room.
Harry shivered as he checked his hands to make sure they were okay, "That was unpleasant." He grabbed his coin purse, his invisibility cloak and the red rod then changed his appearance to look more like a combination of Malfoy and Seamus. He teleported to Knockturn alley and went in and collected the book, paid double to have her take the wards off of it then left. 'I'm really starting to hate that bitch.' He wrapped his cloak around himself then flash teleported to the secret bathroom just off of the Gryffindor dorm. He was mildly surprised when nothing went wrong until he found himself back in his room at the end of the time.
Harry grabbed a note book and wrote down several things that he had learned from the book. 'There are demons that can find stuff for a price." He underlined price then wrote, "Pay in gold if I can." next to it. He wrote, "There are demons that can give you knowledge for favors and there are demons that can jump worlds. Some of them might have magical items that I can trade for." The book had also said that there were a group of upper level demons that used magic rings to jump between worlds which meant that he could probably sacrifice one of them for the power to jump between worlds if he could kill one. Killing them was the problem though as the only way the book even knew of to hurt them required a lost magical glove. He smiled as he circled the line about finding lost stuff.
"Okay, I've got part of a plan, I just need to put it all together." He changed his appearance to look like Malfoy then grabbed the thin red rod, his cloak, his gold and his notes. He teleported to Knockturn ally, walked into Natasha's and collected the demon book after paying double for her to remove the tracking charms on it.
He walked out of the store and looked around the alley until he spotted a couple of wizards talking in a group that were covered in dark magic. He slipped his cloak on then quietly walked up behind them and dropped them with a couple of stunners before they even knew what was going on. He piled the wizards and then teleported back to the Shrieking Shack with them. He used his wand to strip them down to their underpants, "At least the dark marks are visible in this world." He cast a couple of full body bind spells then cast an anti apparition ward on the room. "Okay, good. Stay put."
He teleported to the store in Sunnydale, grabbed all of the materials he needed for a couple of summoning attempts then teleported back. It took him an hour to set things up for the demon summoning ritual and another five minutes to actually cast the ritual.
The demon that showed up looked nothing so much as a pizza delivery boy crossed with a devil. "You brought party snacks. What can I help you with?"
Harry said, "I want information on the location of a certain holy glove. In exchange you can have these not so upstanding members of society to do with as you please."
The demon looked at the wizards, "There are a lot of magic gloves, what's my time frame?"
"An hour, then I'll want a report. I understand if you can't do it."
The demon snorted, "Of course I can. I have a sinking feeling that you're asking about a rather dangerous magical artifact for demons to come near."
"I'm planning to use it to kill some dementors with the holy glove, I figure if it can kill a Kley..."
The demon shouted, "Don't say it... just don't." The demon shook his head, "You're insane kid."
Harry shrugged, "Okay, I figured if you could kill one of them with it, a dementor should be a piece of cake."
The demon sighed, "You're going to get me in some trouble, you know that right?"
Harry pointed at the wizards that were unconscious outside of the summoning circle. "I'll keep your name out of it."
The demon shook his head, "You don't even have proper concealment wards up."
"I'll trade one of the wizards for knowledge of wards that will keep me off heaven and hell's radar so to speak."
The demon shook his head, "If you skin all three of them alive I'll give you a ring that will keep you off of everyone's radar as long as a greater power isn't specifically looking for you."
Harry glanced at the wizards and had to work not to show how disgusted the idea of skinning a human made him. He really didn't want to have to skin anyone alive if he could help it, even if they reset it would probably cause him nightmares. He also didn't think he had enough time to do a proper job of it. "Let's ignore the horrible price for the moment and ask why you would you part with it?"
"It doesn't work for demons which means it's not all that useful to me personally as anything other than a bargaining tool."
Harry said, "I have a counter offer."
"Normally I wouldn't negotiate but I'm curious what your counter offer is."
"I'll dose the wizards with a mind controlling potion and they'll be your slaves for as long as they live. You'll be able to tell them to willingly give up their souls to you once they die, that's got to be far more useful than whatever scraps of power you get if I kill them for you. Think of everything that you could do with three wizards at your beck and call."
The demon smirked, "Done. I'll be back in twenty with the information, have the wizards ready when I get back." The demon vanished from the circle.
Harry flashed teleported back to his room to get the mind control potions that would turn the wizards into slaves.
Harry felt a bit dirty after the demon left with the wizards, he had a magic ring with some odd magic around it and the location of the holy glove, it was in a bookstore in L.A. of all places or at least it was according to the demon. He checked his watch, "About twenty minutes before things reset." He teleported near Andromeda's house. "Kreacher, come here."
Kreacher appeared a few feet from Harry, "Kreacher doesn't want to but Master said Kreacher must obey you."
Harry said, "I've got an important mission for you then I'll help you destroy the locket that Regulus asked you to destroy."
Kreacher stared at Harry, "You can really do that?"
"If you help me, I'll make sure it's destroyed."
Kreacher asked, "What does Kreacher need to do?"
Harry pulled his invisibility cloak off, wrapped it around the demon book then handed it to Kreacher, "These aren't gifts, you're just holding them for me."
Kreacher scowled but managed not to make a sarcastic comment as he thought about finally being able to fill Regulus's last request. "Okay."
Harry handed Kreacher the concealment ring, a time turner and the elder wand, "I want you to put the time turner on then, give it four good turns then hide at my parent's house in Godric's Hollow until I come for you or until tomorrow."
The elf asked, "Four turns then I go to Godric's Hollow and hide?"
"Yes."
Kreacher put the time turner on then twisted it four times and vanished.
Harry looked down at his watch, "Fifteen minutes." He teleported to the L.A. airport, ran outside through the crowd then flew up and headed toward the address the demon had given him. He ignored the shouts and screams off people as he flew down the street. He knew he wasn't going to make it before time ran out but it got him closer so that he could teleport closer next time.
Harry blinked as he found himself back in his room. He sighed in relief when he found his invisibility cloak exactly where it should be. "Okay, at least that didn't screw anything up." He checked his time turner and found that it was fine.
He picked up the red thin rod and put it in his pocket. He collected his cloak and coins then teleported across the world to his parents' house. He wasn't sure what he was expecting to see but he wasn't expecting to see a Kreacher statue. He stared in shock as he saw a stone like Kreacher under his invisibility cloak clutching the book to his chest, the most likely cursed ring on his finger and the elder wand grasped in the hand that wasn't holding the book. "Sorry about that Kreacher. I guess that just goes to show you that you can't trust demons." He lifted the extra cloak off of Kreacher and put it in his bag. He pointed his wand at the book and shrunk it. He canceled the shrinking spell after it fell free of Kreacher's grasp. "Hopefully we can reverse this."
Harry teleported back to the mansion and walked into the kitchen, "I've got a bit of a problem Sirius."
Sirius looked up, "What's the problem?"
"Kreacher got turned to stone."
"Your point? At least this way he's not a problem anymore."
"Please don't let Hermione hear you say that."
Sirius said, "I'll try to summon up some sympathy when you tell her that you got him turned to stone. How did it happen?"
"I got a cursed ring from a demon. I sort of need you to decurse it."
Sirius set his tea down, "Do I want to know why you were making deals with demons? I'm fairly sure that falls under the no dark magic rule."
"I didn't sell my soul or anything drastic. I needed some information for a crazy plan of mine."
"Right, what's this crazy plan?"
Harry said, "I needed to know where a magic gauntlet was so that I could kill a demon for a magic ring that would allow me to get back to my family so that I could bring them back here."
Sirius stared at Harry, "You're telling me we could get Lily and James back?"
Harry said, "At least a version of them."
Sirius said, "Sign me up."
Harry reached out, grabbed his arm and teleported to his parents' house.
Sirius looked around the mostly destroyed house then focused on Kreacher, "You still didn't explain how Kreacher got mixed up in this or why he has a burned out time turner."
Harry said, "He was doing me a favor and he's got a time turner... burned out?"
"That's what it looks like."
"He used it to break out of the time loop, it must have fried when he slipped out of the time loop."
"What?"
"I was seeing if I could duplicate things..."
Sirius stared at Harry, "I'm not sure if doing that is genius or insanity. Wait, are we still in the time loop?"
Harry said, "Yes, so you probably won't remember this."
Sirius snorted, "Great. I'll take a look and see what we can do for Kreacher, how much time do we have?"
"Three hours and change."
Sirius pulled out his wand and got to work checking over Kreacher and his cursed ring. He looked up five minutes later, "Do you want the good news or the not so great news?"
"Good news first."
"The good news is the curse wasn't part of the ring and it's gone. The not so great news is that it's only temporary. He should be fine in a couple of hours, maybe a day at most."
Harry said, "That's a relief."
Sirius glanced between the wand Kreacher was holding and the wand that Harry had in his wand holster, "Did you just duplicate the elder wand?"
Harry smirked, "And my invisibility cloak, the cloaking ring and a book."
"What exactly is the ring supposed to do?"
"It's supposed to keep someone from being found by anything other than greater powers that are looking for specific people."
Sirius said, "I can see where that would be handy to have. So now what?"
"Now, I'm going to see how many different artifacts I can collect before I send another version of Kreacher back in time. Eventually I'll probably get bored and cancel the time loop but right now I'm having fun."
Sirius said, "In that case have fun. If you start going crazy take a nap or end the spell. You can always cast it again, right?"
"I've got plenty of spell components. That's it? I was expecting more of a lecture."
Sirius snorted, "Your father and I would have abused the heck out of a time loop as teens, taken some joyrides, pulled some pranks that would have been funny as hell but that we wouldn't have gotten away with. Just don't get too caught up in things or do anything too horrible."
Harry said, "I'll try to be at least somewhat responsible."
"Before you go, drop me off at a strip club. I'm not going to remember this anyways."
Harry laughed as he teleported them to L.A.
Harry wasn't that upset about the fact that he spent the rest of the last loop watching strange mostly naked women dance around a pole, sure it wasn't that productive but it gave him plenty of birthday ideas for the girls. Thankfully his metamorphmagus abilities let him look older otherwise he would have been stuck outside while Sirius enjoyed himself. He collected his supplies, walked into the kitchen and grabbed a cup of tea.
Sirius looked at Harry, "Shouldn't you be with the girls looking at computers?"
Harry said, "Yep, I am. I jumped back in time to catch up on my reading."
"Just make sure you get enough sleep."
"I plan on it." Harry took a sip of tea, 'He hasn't got a clue that we just spent a couple of hours at a topless club. I'll have to bring someone else the next time I set up one of these loops.' He shivered as he realized that Alex would probably want to use a time loop for some hardcore fight training. 'On second thought that's not a bad idea.'
Sirius asked, "What's got you smiling like a Marauder?"
"I was just thinking. I should get back to reading."
Sirius shrugged, "Sounds good."
Harry finished his tea then walked back to his room and hide the green glass rod in the top drawer of his dresser. 'No point in taking chances.'
He wrapped his cloak around him then teleported back to L.A. and went searching for the bookstore that supposedly held the holy glove. A couple of missed turns, an hour and a half of walking around the unfamiliar city, a couple of point me spells and a discussion with an old man named Denver was all it took to collect the glove, that and a couple of gold coins. He spent another hour looking over the man's surprisingly large collection of magical items before he left to test the ritual he was planning to use to steal the powers of the holy glove.
Harry muttered as he 'woke up' back in his room. "Damned glove." He was fairly sure this was the tenth time he had popped over, grabbed the glove then tried the ritual that would drain it's power into him. It could have been the ninth or the eleventh though as a couple of the attempts sort of blurred together. The first through the third ritual had been catastrophic with bits of internal organs going everywhere. The fourth had liquefied him and the fifth through the ninth had caused quite a lot of damage to his hand. The last ritual was closer but he still didn't like the loss of motor function that resulted. "Screw it, I'll ask Hermione or Alex when I get out of this loop. I'm going to enjoy this loop." He hid the green thin glass rod in the dresser then, grabbed his supplies and his broom and headed out of the mansion.
He pulled out his wand and whispered, "Point me closest lost magic item." He smirked slightly when his wand pointed toward town. He got on his broom and disillusioned himself. 'As long as I avoid the areas I remember from the shopping trip I should be fine.' He flew up and then started flying in the direction his wand was pointing. Three minutes later he was staring at the Von Hauptman family crypt. He waved his wand and unlocked the crypt. He landed and stuffed his broom back in his bag. He walked into the crypt, "Point me lost magic item." He smiled as his wand pointed toward a coffin. He used his 'x-ray' vision to check in the coffin, "A gauntlet of some type."
He levitated the lid off and looked down at the black gauntlet with spikes on it. "You've got plenty of magic." He smirked as he reached down and picked the gauntlet up. He teleported back to the magic shop in Sunnydale and walked in after canceling his disillusionment charm, "I don't suppose you know what this is?"
The shopkeeper stared at the gauntlet in surprise, "Where did you find that?"
Harry tried to not roll his eyes too much as the shopkeeper hurried over to examine the gauntlet. "Out of a crypt."
"This looks like the Glove of Myhnegon."
Harry said, "That's not all that helpful, what does it do?"
"It absorbs lightning and allows you to throw it or at least that's the legend."
Harry smiled, "Excellent." He put the glove in his pocket then walked back outside.
The shopkeeper stared at Harry as he just walked out, "It's horribly dangerous... damned kids these days."
Harry laughed as he pulled his broom back out of his bag, mounted and flew off toward the next lost magic item.
Harry looked down at his watch, 'Twenty minutes. I know where a couple of magic items are, I could grab Kreacher or I could I could work on something better next time. Now that I have a better idea where things are it should only take a couple of minutes to bounce around and collect everything now that I know where it is, I might as well not rush things. That leaves me twenty minutes to have some fun." He smirked, "Point me Sunnydale demon bar." He was a little surprised that his wand actually twisted and changed direction so that it was pointing a direction. It only took seven minutes for him to the find Willy's bar. Harry walked into the bar and looked around. "Hello."
Willy looked at the teenager, "You're too young to be in here."
Harry said, "Relax, I'm older than I look. I've been told that you're the one to talk to about the local demon scene."
Willy shook his head, "I'm sure that you don't want to be messing with that scene."
Harry pulled out two gold coins and walked over to the bar, "I'm fairly sure that I do. Start talking, who controls the town, who controls the magic users."
Willy gulped, "Sorry, not happening they really like their privacy."
Harry set the two coins down on the table then grabbed a huge handful of gold coins from his bag and put them on the table. "Names or I'll start getting creative to get them." Harry held up his hand and conjured a ball of light.
Willy gulped as he realized death later was better than death right now, he blurted, "The Mayor controls the town. He's been running it for years."
Harry let the light vanish, "I'm guessing that means the police are corrupt, yes?"
Willy nodded, "Corrupt or incompetent."
Harry looked down at his watch, "Eight minutes."
Willy asked, "Eight minutes until what?"
"Until I leave and take the rest of my gold, if you want more then tell me about the various factions here. I promise that I'll keep your name out of it. If you lie, I'm going to be displeased."
Willy started spilling secrets out of greed and in an attempt to save his own hide from the obviously delusional magic user.
Harry snickered as he found himself back in his room, "That was actually sort of fun." He grabbed the green rod and hid it in his dresser then collected his stuff and some extra expanded bags. He teleported back to his parent's house and collected his invisibility cloak, the book, the ring and the wand off the frozen Kreacher then jumped to Andromeda's and collected Kreacher before jumping back to the garden room in the mansion. "Stay here."
Kreacher grumbled, "Kreacher hates nasty blood traitors."
"This nasty blood traitor will help you destroy the locket that Regulus wanted destroyed if you're good." Harry teleported inside the crypt with the lightning glove, destroyed the lid with a blast of magic, grabbed the glove then jumped to the next magical item on his list. He jumped to the entrance of the local magic shop, walked in and set his expanded bag of gold on the table. "The bag is larger on the inside than the outside. I'd like to purchase as many books as this will buy, I want them all decursed and ready in two hours. Is that acceptable?"
The clerk's eyes lit up at how much profit he would make. "Yes."
"I'll be back for it in two hours." Harry flame teleported out of the shop to grab the next magic item on his list.
Harry collected about half the store's collection of books with his coin purse. He wasn't going to complain about the price considering he wasn't planning on actually having to pay for it in the long run. It took forty minutes to pack all of the books and items into the bags and he was sure that Hermione would murder him for tossing some of the books in without properly securing them but he was running out of time. It took another ten minutes to get set Kreacher up in such a way that he could carry all of the expanded bags without falling over. "Just about done." He stuffed Alex's firebolt and several other items into the least full bag which wasn't saying much as they were all fairly full.
Kreacher wobbled as Harry stuffed more stuff in his bag, "Kreacher can't see where Kreacher is going."
"Not important. All you have to do is apparate up to the roof then turn the time turner four times and stay up there until Sirius or I come get you. You're not to go elsewhere. You're not to damage the bags or the contents, you are not to take them out of the bags. You're not to be seen from the front of the building. You will take all of the bags and their contents with you back in time and you will keep them safe."
Kreacher grumbled, "Nasty blood traitor."
"It will all be worth it Kreacher. Remember, four turns on the time turner as soon as you get up there no more than two minutes." Harry handed him a bottle of water.
Kreacher grumbled, accepted the bottle of water then apparated to the roof.
Harry relaxed once Kreacher vanished, he looked down at his watch, "Looks like I've got enough time for lunch."
Harry smiled as he found himself once again back in his bedroom. He hid the thin glass rod in the dresser, checked to make sure that his important stuff like his cloaks and such were where they were supposed to be then teleported to the roof.
Kreacher grumbled, "Kreacher hates Potter."
Harry sighed in relief as he saw that the bags were still intact. "Just hang tight and we'll get you settled soon."
Kreacher scowled, "Kreacher hates Potter."
"Yeah, just stay here for a bit."
Harry shifted his appearance to look more like Malfoy then teleported back to Knockturn alley, walked into Natasha's shop and bought all of the books he could while paying double to get the charms removed. He swept the books with his mage sight and pointed at the remaining charms as he didn't care to deal with them. "You missed a couple."
Natasha smirked as she removed the remaining curses and tracking charms. She didn't sound the least bit sincere as she said, "Oops, sorry."
Harry looked at his remaining funds, "I'd also like the Hand of Glory."
Natasha smirked as stunned the hand then added it to Harry's pile. "Pleasure doing business with you."
Harry took his books and the hand and left the shop before teleporting back to his parents' cabin so that he could grab another copy of the ring, wand and cloak. He stuffed the extra book in the bag then quickly made his rounds around Sunnydale to pick up the various lost magic items he had found. He smirked as he teleported back to the mansion's roof holding a bag. "I've got more stuff for you Kreacher."
Kreacher stared at the extra bag in horror, "Blood traitor is trying to kill Kreacher."
Harry was a bit disturbed when he realized that Kreacher actually sounded a little proud. It took him a couple of minutes attach the extra bag in such a way that Kreacher wasn't going to fall over. He handed Kreacher a time turner. He checked his watch, "Apparate to the basement and use this, a turn and a half should do it."
Kreacher grumbled as he took the time turner then apparated to the basement.
Harry took a breath then let it out, "Okay, I've got one Kreacher on the roof, I've got one in the basement, if I do much more than I'm going to go crazy." He looked down at his watch, "I've got another couple of hours to kill, I guess that means it's time to torture Willy for more information." He teleported into the middle of Willy's bar.
Willow stopped and stared as Alex's key worked on the gate to the Crawford street mansion, "I thought you were joking."
Alex said, "Nope." She pouted, "Is that a problem?"
Xander shook his head, "No, it's just not what we were expecting." He thought, 'I guess that's why they can afford to buy a couple of computers and a lot of video game equipment.
Harry said, "I blame Sirius, he thought it would be funny to live in a mansion and it really wasn't that expensive."
Willow asked, "Really?"
"It needed a lot of repairs and it's been vacant for a while because the last couple of owners died."
Willow figured it had something to do with demons or vampires but didn't want to worry her new friends. "It might be related to the gang problem."
Alex asked, "Gang problem?"
"It's why we try not to go out at night unless there is going to be a lot of people."
"That seems reasonable."
Jane looked at Willow, "I'm just glad that you can help us set everything up."
Xander said, "She's our super geek."
Willow blushed, "Thanks."
Luna said, "Let's go, I want to see if Hermione has everything out of the boxes yet."
Harry said, "Let's go see." He was just glad that Hermione had taken the car with Puck to haul the computers and game systems back as it gave him a chance to slip away.
Alex stared at the collection of books and random magic items in Harry's room including a bunch of invisibility cloaks hanging on the stands, "What the hell?"
Harry whispered, "Would you believe I got bored?"
"Yes but that doesn't explain when you had the time... oh." That explained why Harry had slipped off once they got back to the mansion, he had used a time turner to do something crazy. That still didn't explain where he had found so many invisibility cloaks.
Harry smirked, "Even better actually. I found a book about time loops. Turns out that you can send someone out of a time loop with a time turner. I might have duplicated Kreacher and everything he was carrying a couple of times."
Alex grinned, "We're going to rule the world, you know that right?"
Harry snickered, "The paperwork would be excessive."
"Rats, let's go watch Willow finish setting up the computers. I ordered some pizzas and soda. I'm looking forward to beating you in street fighter." She whispered, "After that you can tell me about your time traveling insanity."
Harry whispered, "We're going to have a lot of fun this summer playing with time." He wanted to get another loop set up with Sirius, Alex, Hermione, Ginny, Jane and Puck so that they could get in on the chaos and insanity. He was looking forward to empowering everyone with a copy of the ring so that they could grab one of the greater demons and start copying the plane hopping ring.
Alex snickered, "Yep. Let's go see how they're doing then we can relax a bit."
Harry walked out of his room, "That works for me. I feel like I've been awake for days."
