Misjudged

Thank you all for keeping up with this story, I won't be putting up an intermission chapter next fortnight, instead, will be doing a normal chapter, then an intermission chapter will follow. Enjoy and review guys.

I do not own Dragon Booster, only my oc's.

It was a nice, warm day in Dragon City and a crowd was gathered to watch drag-ball, a popular sport where two teams compete and try to score a goal. In this match, Katah and Phistus were up against two members of the Dragon Flares crew.

Katah held the ball under his arm as Shock-ra maneuvered around the pillars in the arena, wearing brown trenching gear and being chased by a Dragon Flares crew member. The rider held out his blocking staff to whack the ball away from the leader of the Inner Order crew when they were blindsided by Phistus, pinning him and his dragon to a pillar and using their brown trenching gear to hold them down.

Budge, the announcer of the game, winced at the hit. "Oh, force ramming block by Phistus." Katah gave his teammate a thumbs up as he continued towards the goal. "He's got him pinned down with the trenching gear!"

Katah was magged into the air by Shock-ra. "Mag-jump by Katah, he spins, he rolls." he threw the ball straight into the goal. "He scores!" the crowd cheered as Phistus and Katah grinned at their victory and Katah pumped his fist into the air.

The leaderboard showed 3-1 for Katah and Phistus. "Katah and Phistus score!" Budge announced as the Penn racing crew stood outside the arena, watching the game from the screen.

"Oh, what a mag-jump! What a goal by Katah!" Artha said as he turned his head to look at Parm, who was busy trying to lift the front part of his helmet as it kept slipping down over his face. "Did you see that?" Parm lifted the visor and said with an annoyed look. "No, I did not." the visor fell again as Iris rolled her eyes.

Beau and Prisma stood behind the teens as they too, watched the screen. "Good luck out there, Beau. I know you and Cyrano will do great!" Prisma wished her dragon friends good luck with their match.

The blue and red dragon smiled. "Thanks, Prisma. We will do our best out there."

"Is this drac or what? We're playing drag-ball, Parm!" Artha said excitedly. Parm once again had to lift the visor. "Yeah, drac. You get to mag-jump and score, I have to go one-on-one with... Phistus." his visor once again fell and Iris had enough of it.

"Give me that helmet?" she asked and Parm removed it. She took it in her hands. "Do you have a loose screw in your visor? Is that why it keeps falling?" she asked as she took out her portable tool set Artha had gifted to her as a birthday gift a few years back. Sitting down on the ground, she took out a screwdriver and got to work tightening the screws connected to the visor to keep it from falling constantly.

Lance held up a fully charged white rappel gear pod in his hands. "Why not use this white rappel gear for drag-ball?" he tried to open it up but was having trouble.

"Rappel gear is for heights, Lance, Drag-ball is all about strength and speed." Artha reminded his younger brother.

"Lance, don't go messing with that thing lest you want to end up hanging in the air," Iris warned her brother as she finished working on Parm's helmet and handed it back to him. He put it on and when his visor no longer fell, he thanked her for her help.

Kitt approached Lance. "Hey, little man, listen to your sister, you don't want to accidentally…" she never got to finish as a rappel hook shot up and latched onto a nearby light post, pulling the two of them with it and leaving them hanging above the others.

Artha laughed at them while Iris shook her head. "I did warn you."

Kitt gave Lance a scathing look. "...Set it off!" she finished with a snarl as the boy chuckled nervously. With a sigh, Iris walked over until she was under them, and Prisma magged her into the air, she was lifted above the two and unlatched the hook from the pole, Prisma let the pair land on her back while she lowered her rider/sister to the ground and she put the gear into her storage box attached to her saddle.

"No one listens to me, as usual!" she huffed as Lance looked down guiltily.

Soon enough, Artha and Parm were called in for the next match with Moordryd and Cain. "Ladies and gentlemen of Dragon City. We have a special guest referee for this next competition. He's the twenty-time drag-ball champion, the only undefeated champion ever! The leader of the powerful Will of the Dragon crew, please welcome, Kawake!"

An older man riding a large brown bull-class dragon emerged from the shadows, Kawake looked around as the crowd cheered for him as he approached the teams. Word and two members of the Dragon Eye crew were standing in the stands, watching the game.

Artha looked like a school kid when they got a special treat for being good. "Drac, Kawake! In person!"

"...and that's Rumbull, the mightiest Earth-class dragon on the planet!" Parm added, more in awe at the large dragon who was bigger than Cyrano.

Budge smiled down at Kawake from his moveable stand. "It is a great honor to have you here today!"

Kawake smiled. "I'm honored that the fans still remember me."

"Aw, you were the greatest!" Artha praised the drag-ball champion, having watched him play the game when he was younger. Kawake smiled. "Thank you."

Budge moved his stand so it was between the two teams. "These are the next competitors, Artha Penn, and Parmon Sean." the two boys gave waves to the crowd. Kitt, Iris, and Lance stood in the stands, cheering them on. "All right!" Lance cheered.

"And Moordryd Paynn and Cain from the Dragon Eye Crew." boos were heard all around as the remaining three members of the Penn crew added their boos to the mix. Moordryd scowled at the booing.

"Penn?" Kawake addressed Artha. "I knew your father, he was a great man." Artha smiled at him. Moordryd couldn't help being left out.

"And perhaps you heard of me too?" Kawake looked over at the teen. "Hm, nothing good." Moordryd scowled. "But I'm not here to judge you, young Paynn. I'm here to help, and hopefully to teach."

"Teach what? How to run away?" Moordryd mocked as Cain chuckled. Kawake gave the boys a raised eyebrow for their attitude. Parm and Artha wore shocked looks from Moordryd's comment, how could he say something so insulting to a champion drag-ball competitor?

"I retired. Because there's more to life than drag-ball." Moordryd refused to back down. "You were at the top of your game, then you had that big wreck, lost your nerve, and got scared." Kawake narrowed his eyes at the boy, he had a lot of nerve, this kid.

But he was not going to be insulted by a teenager. "Drag-ball is about teamwork, and how strength and skill find balance and fit together for a single purpose." Artha held onto these wise words from his idol. "I've returned to pass on what I know."

Parm took this moment to speak up. "Well, we could really use the help?"

"Well, besides your mag-blast visor being fixed, that's the wrong level of trenching gear for the draconium variant of your dragon. You'll throw your dragon out of balance, and you could get hurt." Kawake noted the gear on Cyrano.

"Gee, Parm, he talks just like you. " Artha joked lightly. Parm agreed. "Yeah, yeah he does!"

"I'm afraid you can't compete like that, I'm sorry, you'll have to forfeit the match," Kawake informed Parm, who pretended to look upset, but on the inside, he was glad to leave the arena. "Oh scales!"

"What?" Artha questioned in shock as Parm wiped his forehead in relief.

"Oh, I have a great idea, Kawake! Why don't you race with the stable brat here and show the crowd one last glimpse of your…greatness." Moordryd used air quotes with the last word.

Artha awaited Kawake's response, as did Word. "I'm retired, I'm only here…"

"To teach. Yeah, I heard." Moordryd cut him off. "Maybe you could teach me a lesson, old man? Oh, but right, you're afraid to compete." the boy mocked.

Kawake frowned. "I'm afraid of nothing!" Moordryd just laughed as the crowd started chanting 'Play' for Kawake to compete in the match. Hearing them cheer him on seemed to change his mind. "Perhaps a lesson is in order."

The ball sat hovering in the middle of the arena with the two teams both at equal distance from it. Artha narrowed his blue eyes as Beau snarled at Cain and Moordryd. The white-haired teen looked over at his friend. "Mag-blast the Penn brat down and we'll both take out Kawake," he whispered to Cain, who nodded. "Once he's stunned, I'll get the drag-ball and score."

Kawake looked over at Artha. "Okay, steady young Penn, except for the toss." Artha nodded his understanding as Kawake continued. "I'll block ahead and you mag-jump for the drag-ball."

Artha turned back to the match. "Okay." Beau snarled, he was determined to help them win this match, no matter what! The crowd cheered as Budge hit the gong and the ball was shot high into the air. Moordryd urged Descepshun forward as Kawake had Rumbull charge.

Cain saw and pressed a button on his control, Coershun shot a mag-blast at Beau, who growled and magged Artha into the air, but Coershun's blast hit Beau's, forcing him to duck and Artha was no longer held in the air by the mag-stream. Artha took notice and fell back down to earth, but he landed in a crouch as the ball landed behind him.

Moordryd and Cain were running for the ball when Kawake slammed into them from the side, pinning both to a pillar and using his trenching gear to keep them down. "Oh, slamming pin by Kawake!"

"Go, go go!" Kawake called for Artha to make a run for the ball, which he did. "Penn races for the drag-ball." he swiped it up into his hands. "He's got it!"

Moordryd saw everything. "Nooo! Stop him!" He smacked Cain's helmet, but they were too pinned down to move. Beau ran up behind Artha. "Here comes his dragon!" Beau magged Artha into the air. "He mags, he leaps!" Artha threw the ball into the goal. "He scores!" the crowd, Lance, Kitt, Iris, and Parm all cheered for their goal.

Beau put his rider back in the saddle as Artha cheered. "Yeah!" he patted Beau's cheek. "Well done, boy!" he praised his dragon for a job well done!

The second round saw Artha reaching for the ball, only for Cain to elbow him out of the way rather harshly. He threw the ball to Moordryd, who was lifted into the air by his dragon and threw the ball into the goal. "Cain scores and the game is tied." Artha saw the scoreboard and looked disappointed by the goal, they would get it next time.

Kawake now had the ball in his hand and was running between the pillars, but Moordryd and Cain rammed their dragons into Rumbull, which, let's be real, was a really stupid idea since Rumbull was bigger than their dragons and stronger too. He threw the ball to Artha, who had Beau leap into the air and smack the ball with his tail, sending it flying into the goal. "Dragon tail kick, goal!" Budge announced as a replay of the tail hit was seen on the screen as Artha and Kawake scored another goal.

"And it's 2-1, Penn Stables." Kawake gave Artha a thumbs up for his good job and the teen was grinning at his accomplishment.

In the third round, Cain and Kawake were racing each other to get to the ball. Sadly Cain got there first and hit the ball with his blocking staff, the ball flew to Moordryd, who caught it in his hands as he was in the air and gave a strong kick that sent the ball straight into the goal, scoring them a second point. The game was now again tied 2-2 for each team, the ones who scored the next point would win the match.

"The score is dead even at 2-2, next goal wins," Budge explained as the players waited for the ball to shoot into the air. Artha narrowed his eyes, they had to win this round, they had to!

Budge hit the gong and the ball was launched into the sky, Artha and Moordryd were both magged into the air at the same time, racing to grab the ball. Artha was the first to grab it, but Moordryd shoved him out of the way and threw the ball to Cain, the ball landed in front of him. "Quickly, Cain! The drag-ball!" Moordryd called down to him. Unfortunately for Cain, due to him standing around and not doing anything, it left him wide open for a slamming block by Kawake, as he and Rumbull pinned the teen to a nearby pillar.

With the ball on the ground and both teen boys back in their saddles, they again raced for the ball with their dragons, Artha saw Moordryd was close to hitting it and Beau spun around on his right front leg, sweeping his tail in an arc and striking the ball, it bounced off two pillars and hit Cain in the head, landing in Kawake's hands.

The crowd chanted 'Goal' as Kitt grinned. "They're gonna win! They're gonna win!" she squealed and offered her hand for a high-five, which Iris happily accepted. Back in the arena, Artha had Moordryd pinned to another pillar.

"Score, Kawake!" Artha called to his teammate.

"I can't. It's too far to mag-jump." Kawake looked a bit scared. "You do it."

Artha grunted as Moordryd tried to push him back with his blocking staff. "I can't, I've got Moordryd. Mag off your dragon and run for it."

Kawake looked down in shame. "No."

Artha's jaw dropped in shock. "Huh?"

"Cain, do something!" Moordryd shouted to Cain, who regained his focus and saw the ball in Kawake's hands. Artha saw him. "Kawake, watch out!" he called, but it was too late as Cain swiped the ball from his hands and made a run for the goal.

"I can't believe what we're seeing here today. Cain has stolen the ball from Kawake."

"Kawake, no! Stop him!" Artha shouted in horror as Cain jumped up towards the goal. He threw it in and they scored, the game was theirs. Cain celebrated while Artha looked at Kawake with anger in his eyes.

"Why didn't you stop him?" the boy asked. Kawake said nothing and looked away in shame. Moordryd laughed at his victory. "Looser! Even with the greatest drag-ball player of all time, you're just a loser!" he sneered to his rival, who glared with rage.

Later, they were outside the arena with the rest of the Penn racing crew. "Why didn't you score? Why didn't you run for it?" Artha questioned Kawake.

"You don't understand." Kawake snapped.

Artha put his hands on his hips. He scoffed. "Oh, I don't? What was all that talk about the parts fitting together?" Beau growled and swung his head around to try and get Artha to shut up.

"Artha, don't be reckless, it wasn't his fault."

But the teen just pushed his dragon away. He pointed an accusing finger at Kawake. "You didn't do your part."

Rumbull snarled at the teen. "Do not judge me, young one," Kawake warned him.

"Artha, it's just a game." Kitt cut in, trying to diffuse the tension as Iris stood back, she wasn't going to say anything this time.

"Yeah, a game we lost to Moordryd Paynn!" Artha ranted angrily.

"Do you want to know why I retired five years ago after that crash?" Kawake asked, looking angry himself.

Artha, too angry and prideful, just glared and scoffed.

Rumbull snorted and magged his rider down, but he remained in the saddle and the two discs on the side were brought down too, creating a wheelchair for Kawake to get around on the ground.

As that was happening, everyone was giving Artha the stink eye for his rudeness. Iris chose this moment to walk up to her brother and smack him upside the head. Her brother yelped at the pain but said nothing as guilt settled in his chest.

The teen now looked incredibly regretful as they all watched Kawake leave without a word.

"Kawake is…paralyzed." Parm finally spoke up after a few moments of silence. The others all looked back at Artha. "I didn't know." his wording sounded rather pathetic.

Kitt just scowled at him. "Open mouth, insert dragon-sized foot."

Artha looked down in shame. "You can say that again." Iris again hit him, this time in the shoulder. "That's for your cheek, Artha. You should never judge someone, no matter how they look or act."

"Open mouth…" Kitt began to say, but Artha cut her off. "Please, don't," he begged, he'd done enough damage for one day.

"Well, now you've done it, Artha." Iris snapped, glaring. "You are going to go to the Will of the Dragon tent and apologize for being a jerk."

The teens and their dragons made their way to the crew tents and soon enough made it to the Will of the Dragon crew tent. "Well, this is it, the Will of the Dragon crew."

"Come on, time I apologized for being a jerk," Artha said. Kitt nodded in agreement. "Yeah, you can thank Iris for making you do this, she knows what's right." Kitt praised her friend, who chuckled softly.

Artha poked his head inside the tent. "Hello?" there was no one inside the tent, only a table with some kind of gear on it.

"Oh well, it appears Kawake isn't here," Parm said, wanting to leave the tent in case they got in trouble.

"Drac." Lance saw the gear and made to run to it, but Iris grabbed the back of his shirt. "Oh no, you don't."

"Hey, Iris." the boy protested.

"How many times have I told you not to touch something that isn't yours, Lance?" Iris questioned her brother, giving him a look as she held him back from touching the gear. Artha walked up to it and pressed a button on the gear, a screen popped up, showing blueprints of some kind.

Iris released Lance as they all gathered around the screen. "They're some kind of plans," Artha said as he studied the prints.

"These are plans for an excavation, a dig," Parm revealed. "Hmm, let's see, a quick analysis of the plans reveals the location triangulated and indicated by the variant tangent, hmm, this calls for an excavation on the north slope of the city canyon. And to do that, the dig would have to go through one of the city's support bracers, brace 0-19 to be exact." Parm gasped as he revealed the plans.

Lance put his hands on his hips. "This is your quick analysis?"

Parm huffed. "That brace is the main support holding up the city structure, why, digging here could cause an avalanche that could bring down half of work town."

The plans vanished, replaced by a very familiar logo. Kitt narrowed her eyes at the symbol. "That's the Paynn Incorporated Logo."

"Word has Kawake working for him?" Artha questioned.

"Or he tricked him somehow," Parm added.

"We all know Word's bent on another dragon-human war, he will trick anyone to do his bidding," Iris said, arms folded as she glared at the logo.

The four teens and ten-year-old looked back at the logo before running to their dragons, mounting up, and heading for the wastelands to hopefully stop Kawake before he did something he'd regret!

Down in the wastelands, Kawake and Rumbull were digging right beside the city support bracers, Rumbull used his strength to remove boulders and rocks from the area.

"Kawake!" Artha shouted as he and the others arrived at the sight. "You can't dig here, it's not safe. You're putting half the city in danger."

Kawake, still angry by Artha's words earlier, didn't want to listen. "What do you know? You misjudged me before and now you're doing it again."

"Well, we don't think so. If you're working with Word Paynn, you're making a huge mistake!" Kitt said with a huff.

"The Will of the Dragon crew always thinks before it acts, young one. We prefer to give others the benefit of the doubt and we do not judge."

"Well, then why are you doing this?" Artha questioned.

"I'm digging for grey draconium, to help save the planet from a dragon-human war!" Kawake revealed why he was digging there.

Rumbull continued to dig, even as the teens begged him to stop. "Kawake, stop!"

"Please?" Lance begged.

"Kawake, you're dooming half the city if you keep going like this." Iris pleaded, but he refused to listen to any of them, he kept digging.

"This whole area is unstable," Parm added, which only made him angrier. "I know what I'm doing!"

"You're digging through a major support structure for work town."

Kawake growled. "You're just a child, why should I believe you?"

Rumbull dug some more, creating a massive crack that snaked its way up the structure, causing bits of debris to fall and the whole place to shake. "Kawake!" Artha screamed, causing the man to look up and see that debris was falling and then a massive amount of draconium was revealed in front of them in the structure itself.

"That's not grey draconium, it's black." Parm gasped.

Kawake snarled. "Word has tricked me!"

"He does that with everyone he meets, tricks them into doing his bidding!" Iris said as she covered her head to protect herself. Prisma snarled as a massive crack formed around the teens and a large canyon opened up under the teens. Prisma leaped to the right just as the others all fell into the hole.

"NOO! GUYS! NOO!" Iris screamed in horror as she saw her two brothers and friends fall, Prisma ran to the edge of the canyon and Iris covered her mouth with her hands in shock as tears welled up in her eyes. She started sobbing into her hands as Kawake was filled with guilt.

"No, what have I done?"

The four teens continued to scream as they fell deeper and deeper. Artha quickly grabbed his star out. "Release the dragon!" he and Beau transformed into their booster forms and shot past the others.

"Hero boy?" Kitt called out.

"Where are you going?" Parm questioned.

"Down," Artha answered.

"Oh, well obviously, but what about us? And what happened to Iris?"

Artha contacted Lance via vid-screen. "Lance, I need you to aim your rappel gear at Parm and Kitt."

The boy blinked. "Why?" he then saw that he was in the middle with Kitt on the left and Parm on the right. "Oh right, this is why." he pressed a button on his control and two rappel hooks latched onto Wyldfyr and Cyrano.

"Everybody hang on!" Artha called.

"Do we have a choice?" Parm questioned, fear in his voice.

"Okay, boy. Now!" Beau growled and his star mark glowed brightly before his wing gliders emerged from his sides and he glided back up towards the others, Beau grabbed hold of the rappel line in his mouth, dragging the others behind them while they screamed.

The black and gold dragon reached for the side of the canyon and managed to grip the side, but his claws were too blunt and not able to grip the rock properly, so they were slowly falling as Beau grunted. "Come on, boy, get a grip."

"I'm trying, Artha," Beau growled as the others kept screaming in fear, calling for Artha. Beau roared as his star mark glowed and his body transformed in a way similar to the furox, his frill became a bit shorter and sharper, his tail became blade-like and spikes appeared at the back of his legs. He raised a claw, once dull and short, now long and sharp, he slammed it into the rock, finally halting their descent.

He began clawing his way up, every slam of his claws jolted the others as they kept going up, but at least they were making it. Artha smiled. "Yeah, release the dragon!"

"It's going to take too long to carry us the rest of the way, just find a place for us to hang out. You've got to stop that avalanche or half of work town will fall!" Parm called up to him.

"Okay." Artha looked for a place to put them and spotted a ledge a little further up that he felt would be fine. Beau grunted as he carried them up to the ledge and let the rappel line go, the teens were left dangling from the ledge. "How about here?"

"Oh, thanks," Parm thanked sarcastically.

"'Find a place for us to hang out'" Kitt mocked, readjusting her grip on her saddle to keep from slipping. "Great choice of words, Professor!"

With his brother and friends safe, Artha made his way back up to the surface where he saw Iris, on the ground crying. "Iris!" he called and she looked up, spotting him, and scrambled to her feet, racing over and tackling her brother in a bone-crushing hug once he'd dismounted the saddle. "I thought you…" she sobbed as Artha held her close to him.

"It's okay, we're all okay. The others are safe, Iris," he assured her gently as Beau nuzzled her hair. Artha held his sister as she calmed down, since Prisma had gotten her out of harm's way, it was natural for her to panic and break down, thinking she'd lost her brothers and friends.

Once she'd calmed down, Artha looked around. "Where's Kawake?" he asked.

Iris rubbed her red eyes. "I don't know. I haven't seen him," she answered.

He looked up and saw the city support beam was beginning to crumble. "Oh no, the city support is breaking. You gotta mag me up there, Beau!"

"Got it!" Beau growled and he magged his rider into the air, Artha pushed against the support, but he couldn't do this alone. Then Iris was there, helping him try and push the beam back, but it was to heavy, they needed more help.

The two teens grunted under the strain of the heavy metal as more debris fell. Kawake then reappeared, seeing the Dragon Booster and Iris both holding up the support beam. "The Dragon Booster."

Artha noticed him. "Kawake, we need your help, you and your dragon," he called down to the man.

Kawake looked remorseful as he spoke. "I have done enough. I unearthed dangerous black draconium and doomed four young ones and half of work town with my poor judgment. All because I wanted to be useful again."

"My brothers and friends are safe, the Dragon Booster saved them. We could really use your help right now. I told you Word Paynn has tricked more people than just you, we need you, Rumbull, and your dig hammer now or this whole place will collapse!" Iris called out as she groaned, her arms began to hurt from holding them up for so long under the strain of the support beam.

Kawake looked down and closed his eyes, even if he wanted to do, he couldn't do much due to not being able to walk. "I am paralyzed."

"The only person you're misjudging is you, Iris Penn and I can't do this alone. We all know that. Walking is the only thing you can't do." Dragon Booster told him firmly, yet gently, hoping to change the man's mind and get him to help them.

"That and drag-ball."

Artha smiled. "Right, drag-ball, where the parts of the team come together as one," he grunted as the support beam became more unstable and a large pillar crashed down, heading straight for Artha and Iris. "Scales!" Iris screamed as the pillar came closer and she ducked her head, only for it to stop an inch from hitting her and her brother.

The two looked behind them to see Kawake holding up the beam from his saddle. Iris grinned despite the situation. "Kawake, you're here!"

The man grunted from the heavy pillar and managed to toss it aside before Rumbull charged forward, Kawake shoving himself against the pillar and pushing it back, activating his trenching gear to stay in place. The trio used their combined strength to finally push the support beam back into place.

"Just like drag-ball, your strength…"

"And your speed. Now let's seal that crack." Kawake had Rumbull mag up his dig hammer to the Dragon Booster, who caught it but decided to give it to Iris. "Iris Penn, you go seal it," he called, handing his sister the dig hammer. Kawake smiled at her. "Go, young Penn."

A little stunned by that, she nodded with a determined look on her face as Prisma directed her sister up towards the crack. Reaching it, Iris slammed the dig hammer into the crack and an amber-like substance flowed out of the dig hammer, crawling along the crack and sealing it tightly with the amber substance, stabilizing the support beam and stopping the place from coming down.

Smiling, Iris was put back into her saddle as Prisma ran to the dig area with Dragon Booster and Kawake. They were satisfied with the work. "Not bad, Iris Penn, not bad at all." Kawake praised the teen for her work as Artha smiled at her.

"Word Paynn's not gonna be too happy with you."

"He should be more worried to know that the Will of the Dragon crew will not be happy with him," Kawake said and turned to face Dragon Booster. "I want to thank you, Dragon…" The words died on his lips as he saw the Dragon Booster had vanished. Iris looked around, noting he was gone too.

"Huh, he must have gone to do more hero work." the violet teen said, handing Kawake his dig hammer back.

"You did a great job, Iris. I'm so proud of you." Prisma praised her sister for her work in helping keep work town from falling. The teen chuckled. "We did it together, Prisma," she whispered so Kawake didn't hear.

The hybrid grinned at her sister and it wasn't long before the others arrived, safe and sound. "Lance, Parm, Kitt, are you guys okay?" she asked while dismounting her saddle and going to hug her younger brother, who happily hugged her back.

"We're okay, Iris." Kitt smiled, letting herself be pulled into a hug by her friend. Parm was next and once they all were accounted for, they headed back to the dig site.

"Kawake, you did it." Artha grinned.

"You saved the city."

The man smiled. "I had a lot of help from the Dragon Booster and Iris Penn here. She sealed the crack." Kawake said with pride. Iris looked down, a blush covering her cheeks.

Artha looked around, pretending to look for the gold-clad hero. "Huh, where is he? You guys did a great job, especially you, sis." he directed the last words to Iris, who smiled warmly, her cheeks going a little more red.

"Yeah." Kitt had to agree with that statement. "Looks like you made quite the team." she smiled.

"I'm sure that if the Dragon Booster was here, he'd say he had a great coach," Artha said as Beau laughed softly.

"Like drag-ball," Parm smiled.

Kawake chuckled. "Yes, I suppose it is just like drag-ball."

"With the parts of the team fitting together," Lance added, accidentally pressing a button on his control that shot out the rappel hooks, latching onto Wyldfyr and Cyrano a second time while a third hook latched onto the support above, leaving the three humans and their dragons dangling for the air. Iris laughed at them for a moment before going over to help them get down.
