August 28th, 2026 - 05:50:01, 10 Miles West of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, after four years of moving from one corner of the globe to another in unpredictable approach vectors and completing the ultimate JTF 2 Operator's skill set in black site training facilities that suit every environment and possible situation, Lieutenant Colonel Everest 'Chemo' VanCamp is returning home to help Canada defeat the Russians in their World War 3 front. But not before learning what happened to Helen with Major James Ramirez, callsign: Chaos (Scott Eastwood), Commander Phillip Graves, Colonel Ned 'Bishop' White, and Rogue Team's soon-to-be former specialist mentor, Delta Force Major Franklin Keener, callsign: Nomad (voiced and played by Lewis Pullman) first via FaceTime.

Chemo: They did WHAT?!

Helen: Yeah. The rape was the insult to the injury I got when Perry and Oxide got killed.

Graves: Fuck, it still cuts deep to hear it. I should've been there to watch over you from a distance, Helen. I am so sorry.

Chaos: Yeah, I'm sorry too, Helen.

Bishop: So am I.

Chemo: We shouldn't have taken more chances like that.

Helen: It's okay, Phillip, boys. I'm a soldier. I'm a Rogue. I know the risks. More than those, I am your friend. And I don't abandon friends. Besides, Soap and Ghost quietly helped me survive by buying me some HIV meds and a morning-after pill. Don't know why, but I oughta count my blessings, I guess.

Chaos: Most interesting.

Bishop: I-I-I still can't believe you were able to have a woman keep up with us, Nomad. Especially when the going gets torturous. Could not be me. I wouldn't know where to start. Great call.

Helen: Tell me about it. Thanks for the conditioning and teaching me to never give up, Nomad.

Chaos: Not just our pretty little small fry. Us too.

Nomad: Ah, it's nothing. I'm your friend against horribly misguided good men, genocidal secret agents, and our own governments.

Chemo: Unseen Handler, Overlord and Battle Captain really came in clutch choosing you.

Darkstar 4-4: Night Owl 1, you're five minutes out. Gear up if you wanna help your home out.

Chemo: (on comms) Yep, roger that. Thanks for the tip, Darkstar 4-4. (off comms) That's me. Take it easy on yourself, Helen, alright? Save your energy for a big one.

Helen: Alright, Everest. Look after yourself over there. You too, Ned.

Bishop: Thank you, Helen. Good luck up there in Canada, Chemo.

Chemo: Thanks, Bishop. Night Owl 1, out.

On board Darkstar 4-4, one of Rogue Team's four Lockheed Martin C-5M Super Galaxy large military transport aircrafts from U.S. Air Force Darkstar Squadron 4, Chemo puts his gear and parachute on and hypes himself up for war by tuning into True North via smartphone. Only to see it display the same emergency broadcast system the other Canadian news channels are playing.

True North: (chyron) All of Toronto's residents are instructed to go directly to the health department at Durham Avenue and Bathurst Street. Pick-ups every 15 minutes from Cedarvale Park in Midtown Toronto. / Emergency evacuation in progress. / Head immediately to your nearest emergency service shelter. Troops will be there to meet you. Bring a photo ID and no more than one baggage item per person. / Be aware of your surroundings. Remain alert.

Regardless, Night Owl 1 gets eager to get even as the C-5M's red light turns on and the rear cargo door opens. As he jumps and skydives, he sees a sunny morning with a large amount of dark clouds and an entire Royal Canadian Air Force squadron of CC-130J Super Hercules planes dropping off several Canadian Spec Ops teams.

But while they land on top of the Russian Armed Forces' positions to provide immediate assistance to overwhelmed Canadian Army units, Chemo goes deep behind enemy lines for a more specific and surgical mission.

--

Over on the financial district of the city, the Russians have set up a jamming tower that has cut off Toronto from the rest of the country and the outside world. That heavily guarded antenna sitting on top of the First Canadian Place is the reason why Night Owl 1's countrymen are losing in Canada's first day in World War 3.

His first objective in Operation Silent Homecoming is to hack the Jamming Tower, open up the friendly airwaves, and disrupt Russia's frequencies with their own intelligence denial tool. He has to land far west of the metropolitan area because parachuting in such places is extremely difficult and dangerous, and the enemy will see him coming from a mile away if he tries to get any closer.

But the good news is he does have a number of advantages over the large Russian Airborne Forces presence. The entire west side of Toronto has been totally evacuated, making civilians not a variable in play.

The majority of enemy armor and combat aircraft are currently in the east, which is where the Canadian Armed Forces have fallen back to and are holding in. While the rest are busy keeping the city limits locked down.

Lastly, a lone gun can operate unseen and unheard. And when going loud, the element of surprise will keep hostiles confused and off-balance as long as the gunfight is short.

Otherwise, they will eventually realize that Chemo is on his own and reorganize to go highly aggressive. With those facts, he has the same set of combat advancements and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)-esque animation/s as Chaos and Red Coat for quiet and loud scenarios.

Chemo: (quietly) Talk about literally going dark. All those Paratroopers, BTRs and SuperHinds to turn Toronto into a beachhead. But most of them would be looking for trouble coming the other way.

[C7A2 fire]

Chemo: (quietly) Snipers in the Financial District are down. Still a good number of hostiles here. Good thing I chose to keep my head down.

[Chemo hammer fists the back of a Russian Paratrooper's head, grabs his ankles, and makes him fall flat on his face]

[Green Beret 7" Knife hit]

Chemo: *locks main entrance* Here I am. First Canadian Place. Too bad a sports coat wouldn't suit my uniform well.

[Vector Gen II fire]

After getting through the Financial District without raising any alarms thanks to his C7A2, Vector Gen II and Chris Reeve Green Beret 7" fixed blade combat knife, he reaches First Canadian Place and locks the main entrance down before quietly ambushing the responding Russian Airborne Forces squad and calling an elevator. Once on the roof, he clears it and gets to work on the Jamming Tower.

[Vector Gen II fire]

[P320 fire]

Chemo: That should do it. Thanks for the Russian language and IT (Information Technology) lessons, Nomad. Hmm, an unavoidable mainframe alarm. Eh, I was getting bored with the stealth anyway. Let's party.

Bad news first, hacking the antenna will trip an unavoidable mainframe alarm and let every Russian combatant know that their precious Jamming Tower is in danger. The enemy responds by sending Mi-24 SuperHind Mk.IVs and Mi-8MT Hips with PK Machine Guns to First Canadian Place.

But the good news is that Night Owl 1 is equipped with a CDX-50 Tremor anti-material rifle. As he uses its devastating firepower to shoot the gunships and armed troop transports down by damaging the engines, picking the main rotors and tail rotors off, and sniping the gunners and pilots into giblets.

Thirty confirmed kills and five minutes of the hacking software breaching the antenna's security protocols and firewall later, he gets back on his connected laptop, opens the friendly airwaves, and jams all the enemy's channels. Now cutting them off from Russia and the rest of planet Earth.

Chemo: (off comms) Nice, nice. (on comms) Overlord, Battle Captain, this is Night Owl 1. The intelligence denial tool is on our side now. Do you read me, over?

Canadian Army Soldier 1: *enemy gunfire* Wait. Do you hear that?!

Canadian Army Soldier 2: *enemy gunfire* Is that our comms working again?!

Canadian Army Soldier 1: *enemy gunfire* Yeah, it is! Imma get on it now! This is Golf 2-4 transmitting in the blind! Immediate assistance is requested in Dufferin Mall! We got wounded and civilians awaiting evac here, over!

Storm Shadow: Golf 2-4, this is Storm Shadow. Immediate assistance is confirmed and en route. We got you loud and clear. Just hang on, over.

Chemo: Storm Shadow? Man, it's been a while since I heard your voice. Good to know you're still with us.

Overlord: Affirmative, Night Owl 1. We read you. Nice work. The Canadian Armed Forces are finding their bearings, licking their wounds, and getting the civilians out of the city now. Will relay when a counter-attack happens. Interrogative: Can you set up camp on First Canadian Place, over?

Chemo: Affirmative, Overlord. I can stay here until the next objectives are ready, over.

Battle Captain: Do it. We're still tracking this enemy field army's COs at this time. And make sure to keep the hacking software connected until the Jamming Tower is completely locked, over.

Chemo: (on comms) Roger that, Battle Captain. Setting up shop and maintaining the hack. Night Owl 1, out. (off comms) Hope this turn of the tide will give you guys a chance for a counter offensive. Good luck out there.

After reconnecting with General Benson Guy Mattias 'Overlord' Greenland (Bruce Greenwood) and the commander of Delta Force: Colonel Damien 'Battle Captain' Longstride, who is the late Commander Oscar Xavier 'Oxide' Longstride's older cousin, Chemo locks First Canadian Place's rooftop and the Jamming Tower down and waits until the high command of the Russian Armed Forces' field army in Toronto is located.
