18:15:58, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, for a reason unknown to Bishop for now, the Russians are solely interested in murdering civilians than military targets. Even though doing so makes them vulnerable to counter-attacks and adding police and military personnel to the body count is a bonus.

But with how hard the enemy is coming for those who cannot protect themselves, the Australian Defence Force's hands are full. And with most of Australian Spec Ops still a few minutes out, Bravo 4-1 is the only Operator they will have in the city immediately.

Bishop: Oh, God, the view's even worse in person.

Darkstar 4-3: Welcome back home, Bravo 4-1. I'm not sure how the Australian Defence Force got caught with their pants down on this. Everything in Sydney is a God damn war zone.

Bishop: I see. Bravo 4-1 to Battle Captain, what are the friendly channels saying, over?

Battle Captain: The Australian Defence Force can't last without some spec ops help. The Russians deployed their armor and combat aircraft so fast that most of the anti-air and anti-armor salvos missed, got destroyed or got captured. If Australian Spec Ops is still absent by 19:00, there's talk of pulling out, over.

Bishop: No one's gonna have to pull out when I'm down there. We're taking Sydney back, over. Are we over the DZ now, 4-3?

Darkstar 4-3: Affirmative. You're cleared to HALO. Good luck. You'll need it if you're jumping into some deep shit, Bishop.

Bishop: Good. *backflips* *skydives*

The time for subtleties is over for Bishop after seeing his civilian countrymen get slaughtered without mercy and the Australian Army Soldiers, local cops and SWAT officers get overwhelmed. With everything he has got with the set animation, just like Chaos, Red Coat and Chemo, he provides a lot of much-needed cover fire for the rescue teams and fleeing crowds and takes the rolling BTR-90s out of commission.

[sirens wail]

[Australian Crowd yelps, screams and cries]

[Shipunov 2A42 fire]

[PKT fire]

[M72 LAW fire]

[BTR-90 explodes]

[M240B fire]

Bishop: Jesus Christ. I gotta kill all of these fucks and destroy the BTRs to get the civvies outta here. Time to go to work. Move! Get out! Get out! Follow the cops and soldiers ahead! Get out of the way! Move! Move! Move! Move! Out the way, people!

[BTR-90 explodes]

[Flash Grenade detonation]

[Benelli M4 fire]

[Russian Paratroopers painfully scream]

Australian SWAT Officer 1: Hey, Captain! Who the hell is that?!

Australian Army Soldier 1: I wish I knew! Maybe Australian Spec Ops! Whoever he is, I'm sure as hell glad he's here and on our side! Keep him covered! Come on!

Australian SWAT Officer 1: You heard him, mates! Support the Australian Spec Ops ahead!

Fifteen minutes, 35 K.I.A. Russian Paratroopers and five obliterated APCs later, he frees the urban residential area that the friendly locals were about to abandon. Keeping his weapons, especially his M72 LAW, stocked are the once terribly misplaced air drops of ammo all over the place.

Overlord: Overlord to Bravo 4-1, gimme a SITREP, over.

Bishop: I just helped the Army and local police save Sydney's urban residents. Now proceeding to the downtown area, over.

Overlord: Roger that. Be advised, Battle Captain just got wind of an Australian Spec Ops order straight from the top. How copy, over?

Bishop: Solid copy, Overlord. Battle Captain, send it, over.

Battle Captain: Australian S.A.S.R. units are to deploy to the Sydney Opera House after eliminating all Russian tanks and APCs in Haymarket. An Australian Government HVI and his family are being held hostage there. Unfortunately, the S.A.S.R. and 2nd Commando Regiment are gonna be delayed again until the Royal Australian Air Force can get a grip on Sydney's airspace, over.

Bishop: Understood, Battle Captain. Diverting to the Sydney Opera House once the armor in Haymarket is destroyed, over.

Battle Captain: Check back with me when you've completed your current objective. Battle Captain, out.

After fifteen more minutes of loud and fast urban warfare, Bravo 4-1 and the police and military personnel who could come with him retake Haymarket from ten BTR-90s and five T-90M main battle tanks and their individual infantry squads. He may have expected all the heavy armor, hence the M72 LAW, but what he did not anticipate was to hear this voice while reporting back to Battle Captain.

[M72 LAW fire]

[BTR-90 explodes]

Bishop: TAKE COVER!

[2A46M fire]

[hatch opens]

Bishop: That's a mistake, cunt!

[Benelli M4 fire]

Bishop: Kobe!

[Frag Grenade detonation]

[T-90M explodes]

Australian Army Soldier 2: Fuck yeah! That's the stuff!

Bishop: Thank you for the demolitions tips, Nomad.

Australian SWAT Officer 2: Everything's going to be alright, people. Just follow us, and we'll get you to safety.

Australian Female Child 1: Oh, thank you. Thank you, all.

Australian SWAT Officer 2: Ah. Honestly, thank that *points at Bishop* special soldier more. He's the one who did most of the hard work.

Bishop: (off comms) Oh, it-it's nothing, kid. (on comms) Battle Captain, this is Bravo 4-1. All Russian armor and their infantry support are neutralised. I'm heading to the HVI's last known. Interrogative: Is there anything else I need to know before proceeding, over?

Hunter Killer: Colonel Bishop, this is Hunter Killer. How copy, over?

Bishop: Good copy, Hunter Killer. Holy— Is this for real?!

Hunter Killer: That's right, son. How do you think you're getting officially promoted despite being officially dead? It's okay. You know most of us here in HQ can read between the lines.

Bishop: Right, of course. Thanks, Hunter Killer, headquarters. Anyway, what's going on in the target building, over?

Hunter Killer: Your objective and his family are bound, tied and on their knees on the main stage. Exercise extreme caution. The Russian who took them from their security detail is NOT your average trooper, over.

Bishop: Understood, sir. I'll be careful, over.

Hunter Killer: They'll be expecting help. Challenge is "Fireball". Countersign is "Ice Dagger". Get 'em outta there. Report back to Battle Captain. Hunter Killer, out.

Bishop: Sounds like I'm heading to the Opera House, boys and girls. A government hostage and his family are being kept there.

Australian Army Soldier 2: Are we going with you?

Bishop: No need. I have some spec ops reinforcements inbound to help out.

Australian Army Soldier 2: About damn time. Look after yourself, mate.

Bishop: Likewise, brother.

After linking up with his old S.A.S.R. commanding officer, Major General Edwin 'Hunter Killer' Huntley, and receiving as much data on the hostage situation as possible, Bishop takes a sports bike and rides to the Sydney Opera House. Upon getting closer to the main stage, he encounters way more than just the HVI and his family.

Government HVI: Fireball. Ice Dagger. Fireball. Ice Dagger. Fireball. Ice Dagger. Fireball. Ice Dagger.

Bishop: (quietly) Surprised you're still standing, Opera House. Okay, I got— Andrei? Wait. Are those para— *looks up*

[Andrei looks up]

[AK-105 fire]

Bishop: (quietly) NO.

Andrei: Sorry, boys. Too obvious. Too late.

[AK-105 fire]

[bullets penetrate]

[M4V7 fire]

[SR-25 fire]

[bullets ricochet]

[bullets hit]

Australian Commando 1: We got men down! Two men down!

Australian S.A.S.R. Operator 1: Shit! HVI and his family are gone. The bloody fuck got 'em. Spread out and find him!

Andrei in the flesh is the hostage taker, and Bravo 4-1 almost immediately recognizes him. But when the Australian S.A.S.R. and 2nd Commando Regiment start dropping into the AO, Czar 9-3 executes his captives, returns fire, kills a couple of parachuting Australian Commandos, falls back, and disappears.

With the short notice rescue mission a bust and Australian Spec Ops turning the Sydney Opera House upside-down, Bravo 4-1 vanishes as well and gets on the horn.

Bishop: (off comms) So that's where Andrei was the whole time. Hunter Killer's not gonna like this. (on comms) Bravo 4-1 to Battle Captain, the HVI and his family are dead. I say again, HVI and family are dead. Hostage taker killed them when they saw Australian Spec Ops parachute in the moment I got there, over.

Battle Captain: Dammit, that was the Prime Minister and his family.

Bishop: Oh, that explains the hostage taker.

Battle Captain: How?

Bishop: I recognised him. He's Lieutenant Andrei Nolan. Or former, at this time. He was one of my own in the S.A.S. Regiment back in 2018. He was part of a platoon sent to Kandahar to lend the Afghan National Army a hand against the Taliban. The tour... *sighs* ended horribly, and my COs pulled the plug before they could report back under "too much enemy firepower". Declared him and his teammates dead after that because it was their lack of intel that got them killed.

Battle Captain: Shit. Disappear somewhere in Sydney. I'll run it up to Hunter Killer and let you know what I get.

Bishop: Roger that.
