August 30th, 2026 - 01:10:02, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the days of babysitting the Russian Armed Forces' Jamming Tower is about to come to an end as Brigadier General Claudio 'Storm Shadow' Lukens, a former commander of JTF 2 turned up-and-coming officer in the Canadian Army's high command, personally contacts Chemo and gives him his next assignment at home. With Overlord and Battle Captain's assurances, of course.

Storm Shadow: Night Owl 1, this is Storm Shadow. Night Owl 1, is that you, over?
Chemo: Affirmative, Storm Shadow. It's been a while. Huh, I guess only you could give me my promotions even though I'm dead. Was he always in the know, Overlord, Battle Captain?
Overlord: Had to be for the sake of making your new position official.
Battle Captain: Same thing happened with Bravo 4-1 and his CO.
Chemo: Figured. Anyway, what's up?
Storm Shadow: Your next mission here. We have the whereabouts of the Russian field army's commander. Asshole's name is General Marko Tupković, and he's at the Royal Ontario Museum.
Chemo: If the scouts or even the spooks can get that close and learn that much, can the rest of CANSOF (Canadian Special Operations Forces) get this General Tupković as well?
Storm Shadow: They could, if only they weren't being kept around by our elected officials like dogs on leashes. Our scouts barely made it back here with their lives while the spooks fucked off the moment the job's done. I also pushed for confirmation. We don't want a repeat of the Iraqi WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) fiasco.
Chemo: I see. Alright— Enemy front. Enemy front.
[KSVK 12.7 fire]
Storm Shadow: Night Owl 1? Chemo!
Chemo: Gotta go to work, gentlemen. Talk in a bit.
Overlord: Carry on. We'll keep an eye out.
Battle Captain: Report back to Storm Shadow until the end of the assassination op. Good hunting, JTF 2 Operator. Knock 'em dead.

Just as he accepts his old CO's order, Night Owl 1 is engaged with a 15-man sniper team firing from three rooftops.
Chemo: Is it playtime already? Good. I was getting bored.
[CDX-50 Tremor fire]
[KSVK 12.7 fire]
Chemo returns fire and blows the enemy marksmen's heads to bits with ease. Thanks to similar attacks before, he expects another hostile assault team heading up to reclaim the intelligence denial tool and masterfully deals with them.

[Vector Gen II fire]
Chemo: Done and done.

Chemo: Night Owl 1 to Storm Shadow, First Canadian Place and the intelligence denial tool are still intact. It's gonna be another five to seven hours until General Tupković sends another combat team for reclamation or search and destroy. You really need to get a platoon with snipers here if you want to keep these two on lockdown, over.
Storm Shadow: Working on that, Night Owl 1. But if you assassinate General Tupković, who will now be known as Winter Soldier, it won't matter. Get to the Royal Ontario Museum. He's still there, but we don't know for how long, over.
Chemo: (on comms) Roger. Spending a night at the museum for the Winter Soldier. Report back when at the target building with him in my line of sight. Night Owl 1, out. (off comms) Indoors and the alleyways should keep me hidden from any lucky shots. Too bad I can't stick to the high ground.
Step one in the assassination of General Marko Tupković is to reach the Royal Ontario Museum alive and combat effective. This includes cutting through the luxurious business center ground floors, hotel lobbies and fine dining restaurants, and picking off a few enemy patrols down low and sniper teams up high.
Chemo: I can only imagine how gorgeous the women were in their tight, sexy office outfits when these places were still open. Would be nice to make friends with one here. Fucking World War 3.
[CDX-50 Tremor fire]
[KSVK 12.7 fire]
[Dragunov SVD fire]
Chemo: And that's you done. Must've been a nice hotel for a vacation. Even so, especially with inflation going around, the cost has gotta be more than I make in a year. *looks back* (quietly) But I guess I could have a little bit of fun here.
[C7A2 fire]
[AK-12 fire]
[PKP Pecheneg fire]
[Frag Grenade detonation]
Chemo: Always wanted to have a gunfight in lavish places. Feel energetic and cozy at the same time. Oh, their Steak Frites with Béarnaise Sauce must be killers around here. With fourteen different cuts and cooking styles to choose from? Fuck, I'm getting hungry.
[Dragunov SVD fire]
[bullet ricochets]
Chemo: *sighs* Guess you're smelling what this place is cooking, too?
[C7A2]
[KSVK 12.7 fire]
[CDX-50 Tremor fire]
Chemo: Clear? Clear. There you are, Royal Ontario Museum. *reloads all firearms* Think, Chemo. Where could someone like the Winter Soldier be in a place like this?
With the target building within reach, it is time to get indoors for the second step: Find General Tupković and confirm his presence to Storm Shadow before going for the kill. But things would go 0-60 (zero to sixty) in the worst ways imaginable.
Locating the Winter Soldier, who is outside at the entrance of the Royal Ontario Museum, and reporting back to HQ is easy. Deciding on how to ice him, not so much because there are now equally important variables in play with the bullets flying.
Chemo: Whoa, was this place a civilian shelter? More dead, quieter and less populated than I expected.
[gunfire echoes]
Chemo: Can hear the gunfire, but can't see it. Rooftops are clear. *looks down* There you are, fiddling with your... *looks up* comms tools.

Chemo: Oh, shit. That explains it. But why down there and not up—
[AGM-154 JSOWs launch]
[explosions]
[F-35As fly by]
Chemo: (off comms) Oh. Rooftops must be out of the question if our jets are conducting sorties. Better get down before I get bombed, too. (on comms) Storm Shadow, this is Night Owl 1. We got a volatile situation. The Winter Soldier's surrounded himself with enough civilians to overpopulate the Royal Ontario Museum. Our ground and aerial men and women in arms are assaulting him and his men as we speak, but they're being dangerously reckless about it, over.
Storm Shadow: Shit! I had suspicions, but getting the Winter Soldier's whereabouts was difficult enough. Can you take him out now, over?
Chemo: Negatory. I can't gamble with the civvies, and staying on the rooftops might get me killed by friendly fire. I gotta try to engage him from his 2 o'clock, over.
Storm Shadow: What do you mean by getting killed by friendly— Oh, right. Not supposed to be here. Of course. You in position, over?
Chemo: Gimme a minute.
Once on the top floor of a building at the AO and General Tupković's 2 o'clock, Night Owl 1 reports further complications as he lines up the shot. But with the opportunity to end Canada's front in World War 3 clear as day, Storm Shadow goes for a judgment call that his best man will disagree with.
Chemo: Night Owl 1 to Storm Shadow, I'm in position, but the Winter Soldier's smart enough to keep himself close to his hostages. His background's too crowded. Moving to—
Storm Shadow: Not an issue anymore, Night Owl 1. Take the shot.
Chemo: You can't be serious, sir!
Storm Shadow: We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity here! Collateral damage has become irrelevant! Those civilians are in God's hands now! Take the shot! Take the shot now!
Chemo: *angrily snarls* NEGATIVE, STORM SHADOW! I AIN'T— CONTA—
[Dragunov SVD fire]
[Chemo painfully grunts]
[AK-12 fire]
[bullets hit]
[Chemo painfully grunts]
Chemo could not check for any more hostile snipers because of Storm Shadow rushing and barking orders over the comms. As a result, he gets hit in the helmet by one from a building opposite of him, and the Winter Soldier himself notices and shoots him in the goggles.
The good news is that both protective headgear saved his life.
Storm Shadow: Night Owl 1, requesting SITREP! What's happening down there, over?! Night Owl 1, acknowledge, over! Chemo?! Chemo, we need a SITREP immediately! Confirm, over!
[Chemo shakes his head and gets focused and angry]
[CDX-50 Tremor fire]
[Dragunov SVD fire]
[KSVK 12.7 fire]
Storm Shadow: Night Owl 1, what are you firing at?!
Chemo: (on comms) The snipers I couldn't look out for because of your need to fucking rush! What do you think?! (off comms) Come on, motherfuckers. Shoot me back.
The bad news is that General Tupković is bailing out in his T-90M after learning that Night Owl 1 survived and is taking his marksmen out of the picture. But Chemo is more concerned about the hostages than his mission because with Russian communications still jammed and friendly air support and ISR up and running strong, the Winter Soldier does not have many places to hide.
Storm Shadow: Night Owl 1, ISR shows not many hostile snipers left! Redirect fire and take out the Winter Soldier! He's boarding his T-90M!
Chemo: Fuck the Winter Soldier for now! We got bigger problems! Collateral damage has become irrelevant, my fuckin' ass! All snipers have been erased! Clearing a path for the friendly ground units!
Storm Shadow: God dammit, Chemo! They are NOT the mission! Displace and tail General Tupković NOW!
Chemo: I ain't gonna let our people get bombed by our own just because our men couldn't rescue them quick enough! You still have ISR on station, right?! Where is the Winter Soldier gonna go?!
Storm Shadow: SON OF A— Fine! Okay. But don't abandon the mission to get that asswipe.
Chemo: I won't. Alright, the Royal Ontario Museum is checked and cleared. Friendlies are tending to the hostages now. Moving to tail the Winter Soldier. Oh, and Storm Shadow, don't be greedy, or you'll lose your investment. Remember?
Storm Shadow: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just get a move on. We'll maintain ISR. Storm Shadow, out.
Now that the civilians in the Royal Ontario Museum are under Canadian Army care, Night Owl 1 moves on to kill General Tupković for good.
