TheSlySage:It is very legible for being AI. I've always loved fanfiction, and AI gives me the help. I did have to have the AI redo the chapter at first because Naruto was way to formal, so it isn't perfect yet. I selected Hanabi at the point in time because 1, I think she is much more fun and cuter than Hinata and 2, Naruto should have been spotted by someone fighting Gaara in the original show and I believe Hiashi would take advantage and push Hanabi to do it because he viewed her as stronger.
Chapter 2: Bridging the Gap and Ramen Realizations*
Naruto stepped out of the Hyuuga Clan estate, his mind swirling with confusion. The entire encounter had left him baffled—why would Hiashi want him, of all people, to marry Hanabi? He didn't know anything about her other than that she was Hinata's little sister, and she was about the same age as Konohamaru. It all seemed so sudden and strange.
As he walked through the village streets, he tried to make sense of it. Why me? Why Hanabi?
His head was so wrapped up in these thoughts that he almost didn't notice Neji standing by the gates of the Hyuuga estate, his sharp eyes following Naruto's every move.
"Naruto," Neji called out.
Naruto stopped and turned, blinking in surprise. "Oh, Neji! What's up?"
Neji walked toward him, his expression calm but thoughtful. "I saw you leaving the estate. You seem troubled."
Naruto scratched the back of his head, letting out a long sigh. "Yeah… I don't get it. Hiashi-ji-san just told me I'm supposed to marry Hanabi! I don't even know her!"
Neji nodded slowly. "It's an unusual situation, but there are reasons behind it. Walk with me, and I'll explain."
Curious and a little desperate for answers, Naruto followed Neji as they began strolling through the village. He couldn't help but feel a bit awkward walking alongside Neji, especially after their fierce battle during the Chūnin Exams. But Neji's calm demeanor helped ease the tension, and Naruto was eager to understand what was going on.
"As you know, the Hyuuga Clan places a lot of importance on the strength of our bloodline," Neji began. "After your performance during the Chūnin Exams, especially your battle with me and your fight against Gaara, many members of the clan took notice of you."
Naruto blinked, surprised. "They noticed me? But I'm not even from a big clan or anything. I'm just… me."
Neji smirked slightly. "That's exactly why they took notice. You may not come from an important clan, but your actions during those fights reminded many of something very important. When you fought Gaara, you summoned the toads to protect the village, and you stood against him even when he transformed into his bijū form. It was… reminiscent of the night the Nine-Tails attacked Konoha."
Naruto's eyes widened. "Wait… you're saying they think I'm like the Fourth Hokage?"
Neji nodded. "Several members of the clan mentioned it. The way you protected the village during the fight with Gaara reminded them of the Fourth Hokage's sacrifice to protect Konoha from the Nine-Tails. Hiashi-sama was made aware of this, and it likely influenced his decision."
Naruto frowned, trying to wrap his head around it. "But still… why Hanabi? Why not Hinata or someone older? She's just a kid."
Neji looked thoughtful. "Hanabi may be young, but she is the heir to the Hyuuga Clan now. Hinata was passed over because Hiashi-sama believes Hanabi has more potential as a leader. This engagement is likely seen as a way to strengthen the future of both the clan and the village."
Naruto sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. "Man, this is way too complicated for me. I don't even know how to talk to her, let alone think about marriage."
Neji's expression softened slightly. "I understand your confusion, but you should give it time. If you need help, I'm willing to assist you. In fact, if you'd like, I can introduce you to Hanabi properly. She's… different from what you might expect."
Naruto looked at Neji, surprised by the offer. It wasn't that long ago that Neji had been distant and cold toward him, but now he seemed genuinely interested in helping. Naruto couldn't help but feel a sense of relief.
"Yeah… that'd help, I guess," Naruto said, nodding. "Thanks, Neji."
Neji nodded back, then glanced over his shoulder toward the Hyuuga estate. "She's been watching you, you know."
Naruto blinked. "Huh? Watching me?"
"With her Byakugan," Neji explained. "Hanabi's been curious about you since the engagement was decided. She may not show it, but she's interested in understanding who you are. She's always been a careful observer."
Naruto scratched his head, feeling a bit unnerved by the idea of Hanabi watching him without him even knowing. "Man… this whole thing is just weird."
Neji smirked faintly. "She's cautious, but if you prove yourself, she'll be more open. Just remember—Hanabi is proud, and she values strength above all else. If you can show her that you're worthy of standing beside her, she'll respect you."
Naruto groaned, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on him again. "Yeah, no pressure or anything…"
As they neared the end of their walk, Neji turned to Naruto one last time. "Take your time, Naruto. There's no need to rush this. But if you ever need advice, you can come to me."
Naruto nodded, feeling a bit more reassured. "Thanks, Neji. I appreciate it."
Neji gave a small nod before turning and heading back toward the Hyuuga estate. As he walked, he couldn't help but glance up toward one of the second-story windows. There, Hanabi stood, her Byakugan deactivated, but her sharp gaze still lingering on the spot where Naruto had been standing.
Neji approached her, sensing her thoughts. "You've been watching him."
Hanabi turned slightly, crossing her arms. "I wanted to see if he was really as foolish as people say."
Neji smirked. "And what's your opinion?"
Hanabi frowned, her eyes narrowing slightly. "He's… annoying. But he's not weak. I can see why Father chose him. He has strength, even if he doesn't know how to control it properly yet."
Neji raised an eyebrow. "You sound almost impressed."
Hanabi's cheeks flushed slightly, though she quickly covered it with a scowl. "Don't misunderstand. I'm not impressed. I'm just… curious. For now, I'll tolerate him. But if he turns out to be as reckless as he seems, I won't hold back."
Neji smiled faintly, sensing the mix of emotions in Hanabi's voice. "Give him time. You may find he's more than just a loudmouth."
Hanabi huffed, turning her back to the window. "We'll see."

Naruto's mind was still swirling with thoughts of the Hyuuga engagement as he made his way through the village. His stomach growled, reminding him that he still hadn't eaten, and there was only one thing that could take his mind off all the craziness.
"Ramen!" he declared to himself, grinning as he made a beeline for Ichiraku's.
Teuchi welcomed him with a wave. "Hey there, Naruto! One miso ramen with extra pork, right?"
Naruto nodded eagerly, plopping down onto his usual stool. "You bet, Teuchi-jii!"
As the savory smell of broth filled the air, Naruto's thoughts once again drifted back to Hanabi. He tried to picture what their future could be like, but every image in his mind ended up being awkward or ridiculous.
He imagined them sitting across from each other at a table, eating dinner in complete silence—until Hanabi snapped at him for eating too loudly. "Stop slurping like that! You're embarrassing us!" she'd yell, her eyes flashing in anger.
Naruto chuckled at the thought. "Yeah, she'd probably hate how I eat."
But then his thoughts shifted to something more serious. He didn't know how to handle this whole marriage thing, especially with someone so young and so… different from him. How was he supposed to talk to her? What if he accidentally said the wrong thing and made her mad?
His ramen arrived, but he was still lost in thought, slurping absentmindedly as he tried to wrap his head around the situation. He didn't even notice when Team 8 approached the stand.
"Oi, Naruto!" Kiba's voice jolted him out of his thoughts.
Naruto looked up, surprised to see Kiba, Shino, and Hinata standing there. "Oh, hey, guys! What's up?"
Kiba grinned, leaning against the counter. "You tell us! You're sitting here like you've got the weight of the world on your shoulders. What's going on?"
Naruto sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "It's… complicated. It's this whole thing with the Hyuuga Clan."
Hinata stiffened slightly at the mention of her family, and Naruto noticed the slight change in her expression. He wasn't sure if it was because of her or something else, but he couldn't ignore it.
"What's going on with the Hyuuga?" Kiba asked, his curiosity piqued.
Naruto groaned. "Hiashi-ji-san wants me to marry Hanabi! You know, Hinata's little sister? And I don't get it at all."
Kiba blinked, then burst out laughing. "Hanabi?! You?! Oh, man, that's hilarious! She's gonna chew you up and spit you out!"Naruto frowned, clearly not amused by Kiba's reaction. "Oi! What's that supposed to mean?!"Kiba leaned on the counter, still chuckling. "You don't know Hanabi like we do. She's got a temper, and she's tough. She's not gonna let you get away with anything."
Hinata, who had been quiet up to this point, looked down at her feet, her hands fiddling nervously. She seemed to be choosing her words carefully. "H-Hanabi is very… strong-willed, Naruto-kun. She doesn't show her feelings easily, but… she's not cruel. She just… wants to be the best."
Naruto blinked, still trying to make sense of it all. "Strong-willed, huh? I guess that's one way to put it. But she's only ten! How am I supposed to talk to her? What do I even say?"
Kiba, sensing Naruto's growing confusion, crossed his arms and gave a toothy grin. "Well, first off, you definitely shouldn't treat her like a kid. She hates that. If you do, she'll just get mad and think you're looking down on her."
Shino, who had been silently observing the conversation, finally spoke up in his calm, measured tone. "Hanabi is similar to you in some ways, Naruto. She respects power and determination. She's grown up in the shadow of both the clan's expectations and Hinata's struggles. She's very competitive, even if it doesn't show on the surface."
Naruto scratched his head, looking more confused. "So, she's like me, but… not?"
Kiba laughed again. "Exactly! Just don't do anything that makes her feel like you think she's weak. She'll never forgive you for that. Oh, and don't bring up her age or how she's Hinata's 'little sister' all the time. She's real sensitive about that."
Naruto stared at them, his brow furrowed in thought. "Okay… so don't treat her like a kid, don't talk about her being younger, and show her respect. Got it. But what am I supposed to say to her? We're getting married! I don't even know what she likes!"
Hinata's soft voice cut through the conversation again. "Hanabi… she's very focused on training. She wants to surpass Father and… and Neji. She spends a lot of time practicing the Gentle Fist, so if you talk about anything related to strength or fighting, she might… respect that."
Naruto's eyes lit up. "Oh, so she's into training! Well, that's something we can talk about, I guess. Maybe we can spar or something." He paused for a moment, looking at Hinata with concern. "But… what about you, Hinata? I mean… doesn't this whole thing seem a bit… weird?"
Hinata's expression softened, but she bit her lip as if struggling to find the right words. She glanced away, her fingers tapping together nervously. "I-I… it's… It's fine, Naruto-kun. Father has always had his reasons for the things he does. And… and Hanabi is strong. S-She will make a good match for you."
Naruto blinked at her, tilting his head slightly. "You sure? You don't seem fine…"
Hinata forced a small smile. "I-I'm happy if… if you're happy, Naruto-kun."
Naruto frowned but didn't press the matter. Instead, he shifted the conversation back to something that was easier to handle. "Okay, so Hanabi's strong, she likes to train, and I shouldn't talk about her being younger. What else? Is there anything else I should know?"
Shino, in his usual analytical way, added, "Hanabi may have a hard exterior, but she is not without her softer side. If she cares about someone, she is easily embarrassed, though she may hide it behind her temper. You should be careful not to push her too hard, or she may retreat."
Naruto blinked. "Wait… so she gets embarrassed? Kinda like how Hinata does?"
Shino nodded. "In a way, yes. But unlike Hinata, she covers it up by becoming more aggressive. If she blushes, expect her to either storm off or double down on whatever argument is happening."
Naruto's mind raced as he tried to imagine dealing with that. "Man, this sounds complicated…"
Hinata spoke up again, her voice soft but sincere. "She… she just wants to be understood, Naruto-kun. I think… if you take the time to really listen to her, she'll appreciate it."Naruto gave her a small smile, appreciating the advice. "Thanks, Hinata. That helps a lot."
Kiba clapped Naruto on the back. "Don't worry, man! You'll figure it out. Besides, if you can survive fighting Gaara and Neji, you can handle a ten-year-old girl, right?"
Naruto laughed nervously. "Yeah… I guess so."
As the conversation wound down, Naruto's thoughts drifted back to his earlier daydreams about what his future with Hanabi might be like. He imagined himself standing in front of the Hokage's office, wearing the Hokage hat, with Hanabi beside him, her arms crossed and a stern look on her face.
"Honestly, Naruto," she'd say, "you need to stop making such reckless decisions."
And he'd laugh it off, telling her that everything would be fine because he was the Hokage and he could handle it. She'd roll her eyes but secretly smile, knowing he'd probably pull it off somehow.
But then Naruto's daydream shifted to something a bit more chaotic. He imagined Hanabi yelling at him for coming home late after training, her Byakugan activated as she threatened to hit him with a Gentle Fist strike if he didn't apologize immediately.
Naruto chuckled at the thought. "Yeah… marriage is gonna be interesting."
Just as he was about to take another bite of ramen, his imaginary scenario was cut short by Kiba's voice. "Oi, Naruto! You zoned out again."
Naruto blinked, shaking his head to clear the fantasy. "Ah, sorry! Just thinking about how crazy this whole thing is."
Kiba grinned. "Get used to it, man. You're in for a wild ride."
As Naruto finished his ramen, his thoughts turned back to Hanabi, wondering what she thought about all this. He had a feeling their first real meeting was going to be anything but normal.
--
Back at the Hyuuga estate, Hanabi sat in her room, her Byakugan deactivated as she contemplated the day's events. She had watched Naruto from afar, using her abilities to observe him even when he was no longer in the estate. There was something about him that was… infuriating. His loud, brash attitude clashed so sharply with the Hyuuga Clan's stoic and disciplined nature.
But beneath her irritation, there was something else. Something she didn't fully understand yet.
"He's reckless," she muttered to herself, folding her arms. "He acts without thinking, and he doesn't seem to understand anything about the responsibility he's being given."
And yet, despite all of that… there was strength in him. Real strength. She had seen it during the Chūnin Exams, and even today, when he had stood in front of her father, there was an undeniable aura of power about him. It wasn't refined like Neji's or even her own, but it was there, raw and wild.
Hanabi sighed, feeling conflicted. "He's annoying… but he's strong. Father wouldn't have chosen him if he didn't see something in him."
She stood up, moving toward the window and gazing out at the village below. Somewhere out there, Naruto was probably still trying to figure everything out, just like she was.
"For now," she whispered to herself, "I'll tolerate him. But he'd better prove himself worthy of this. I won't accept anything less."
As the moon hung high in the sky, casting a pale glow over the Hyuuga estate, Hanabi's thoughts remained focused on Naruto. There was so much she didn't know about him yet… but she was determined to find out.
