They arrived at Keira's home in the early hours of a wet Monday morning. Everyone was exhausted so went straight to their rooms after being shown where they were sleeping. Joe carrying his daughter and his wife wheeling the suitcases were the first into their room. Then Colby and Jon were next to each other just down the corridor from Joe. She put them in those rooms so that they wouldn't get lost. Keira's room was something she had spent a lot of time designing and when the house was being rented out she kept her room locked and not part of the rental agreement. In the center of the room was her huge super king bed that had a tv oppisite on the wall, perfect for watching movies. On one side of her bed was the balcony doors leading to a small balcony that she loved to read on in the summer and on the other side of her bed was another door that was her bathroom that had a door leading to her walk in closet. Not that anything in their would fit her anymore, not only because of the baby but she had put on a little weight being in America and living so much time on the road. She stripped of her clothes put them into a hamper and changed ito a tank top and shorts before getting into her bed and falling asleep. Keira hadn't spoken to Jon since the plane as she had ordered 3 cars to pick them up. One for her and her bags another for Joe and his family with their things and the last one for Colby, Jon and their stuff. She couldn't stand to look at him. When she did she felt an overwhelming feeling of anger for what he had said and how he had treated her and guilt because deep down she knew he was right. She was used to being alone and not depending on anyone that the thought of it frightened her.
She spent the next morning how she spent almost every morning on her knees in front of the toilet. She hadn't really eaten much so she knew she would have to eat when she got up. That was the thought that sent her to her knees in the bathroom. Over an hour later around 10am time she had showered put on some leggings and a tank top since that's all that would fit her from her old closet and everything she had brought with her was still packed in the suitcase at the bottom of the bed that she would deal with later. She walked through the house not seeing anyone, thinking they were still tired from the travelling she pulled on her old coat and boots she found in the mudroom and headed out to the stables to see the horses. She stopped and chatted with a few members of the stable staff who were explaining about some of the new foals that had been born that year. As they walked they made their way to the field where some of the other horses were stretching their legs. In the group was a fully black horse that was hers. The last gift her Grandfather had given her for her birthday. She had called the beautiful horse Cake. She snorted at the name remembering that to that day she had no idea why she thought Cake would be a good name for a horse but he knew his name and her Grandfather found it amusing.
"hi big guy. I missed you." He walked towards her putting his head over the fence to get some fuss. "I would love to ride you but i can't for a while. I'm having a baby so how about you take a friend of mine for a ride instead? She's a sweet little girl who loves horses. " He nudged her hand so she took that as a positive sign.
She heard a noise behind her only to see Colby stood there with a cup of tea in his hand extending it out to her. He was freshly showered so she guessed he had worked out that morning and found the gym in the basement. "Morning, thought you could do with this since its rather cold out here." She smiled and sipped the tea as he put his arm around her pulling her into his warm embrace. "No matter what happens that kid is going to be loved. It's got two amazing uncles if nothing else. If Jon changes his mind and doesn't want to be the dad will you leave us? I mean he could be like an uncle sort of thing like me and Joe. Sorry i'm rambling aren't i?"
"I don't know what is going to happen. What ever happens i love my job and even though the other night scared me to death i know i'm safe when i'm with you guys. I'm staying as long as i can and as i said when i get to pregnant to fly ill get there by car just for the big events, same as when i have the baby. You and Joe are like my family." A silence over took them as Cake came ever closer as if wanting to know what was happening. Colby put his hand out to let the horse come to him. "Do you want to ride him? I can't anymore because of the baby but he is super friendly. He's the one im going to let Jojo ride."
"He is huge. Is it safe for her to ride him?" Cake snorted as if offended.
"He didn't mean it boy. Mean mean Colby." She laughed turning away from the horse. "He is a softy really and there will be a stable hand or two around at all times. So fancy a ride?"
"Would love to but the contract says we can't do anything like that without permission from the boss incase we get hurt." Keira smiled as she sipped her tea. "Lets get back inside and get you and baby something to eat. Something healthy to make sure it pops out super clever and the next CrossFit god." She laughed and started walking with him back inside.
"Nope, only things I'm really wanting at the moment are full of sugar. Oh, a chocolate milkshake now that sounds amazing."
"Well out of everything you could have picked that's not too bad."
The two made their way inside to find Joe, Jojo and Galina enjoying breakfast that Keira's housekeeper had prepared while she was outside. Mrs Ellis had been with her family for almost 25 years and had even looked after Keira as a baby. She was in her late 50's now but was almost a sort of Grandmother type figure to her. Joe stood up, hugged Keira and kissed the top of her head before sitting back down. The two ladies in his life smiled and wished both her and Colby good morning. Jon was still notably missing although he had always been a late riser. She helped herself to some dry toast and an apple. Joe filled her glass up with milk and raised an eyebrow at her daring her to say anything. She stuck her tongue out at him causing Jojo to laugh. " So after breakfast I've asked the stable hands to take Jojo to see the horses. My horse Cake is out this morning and hes super friendly. Joe and Gal that leaves you guys free to relax." Keira wiggled her eyebrows at the last part. "Colby has found the gym and next to that is a film room so i think that he is sorted for the afternoon. I have to head into town to pick some things up like new clothes since nothing really fits anymore. If it's not my stomach its my backside or other things." She looked down at her chest before taking another bite of toast.
"This is your house for the next two weeks so honestly just come and go as you want. There are cars in the garage or if you don't want to drive on the correct side of the road Mrs Ellis goes into town almost daily so im sure she wouldn't mind taking you where you want to go."
The first week flew by with Jon and Keira not speaking which frustrated Joe. Jon was drinking a lot more than normally and passing out early hours of the morning and not getting up until the evening. Keira was laid on her bed watching tv, Colby had gone out for the day with Mrs Ellis and Joe had taken his family out to spend some time together which was something they never really did due to the demands of WWE. Jon has kept to his pattern and was passed out in his bedroom. During the add break she slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom while stretching her arms above her head. As she sat down on the toilet she noticed a small amount of blood in her underwear. She quickly made her way to Jon's room knocking on it and hearing no noise inside she opened the door to Jon on his front fast asleep naked with his arm thrown over one of the female stable hands who was also not dressed. She held onto the door frame as another pain hit her. She shook her head and closed the door before ringing down to the stables for one of them to drive her to the hospital. As she sat in the car on the way there she felt helpless and hurt that Jon would do that to her in her own home. She knew they weren't a couple but she still felt disrespected. As they got to the entrance to the hospital the pain began to come back making her hang onto the door handle and squeeze her eyes closed and pray that the baby would be alright. She couldn't loose anyone else.
