A/N: hi guys, thank you so much for reading this story. Special thanks to those who followed and reviewed. So there seems to have been a bit of a confusion about the last chapter let me clear things up first. Ron put a love portion in both his and Hermiones drink. Malfoy accidentally drank it. Yes, I know that this isn't how love portions work but bear with me. it will all make sense in the coming chapters. As for how they just disappeared, remember this is the magical world. But don't worry It will be revealed later why they weren't found.
Chapter 2: The Morning After (Hermione)
Hermione stirred as the first rays of morning light filtered through the curtains, her head pounding with a dull ache. She groaned softly, squeezing her eyes shut against the intrusion of the bright light. Everything felt heavy, her limbs sluggish, and her mind foggy with the remnants of sleep.
She shifted, only to feel the warmth of another body beside her. Her breath hitched in her throat as panic surged through her veins. Slowly, she turned her head, praying she was wrong, that her mind was playing tricks on her. But as her eyes landed on the pale, platinum blond hair, her worst fears were confirmed.
Draco Malfoy lay next to her, sound asleep, his features softened in the morning light. His bare chest rose and fell steadily, completely oblivious to the turmoil raging within Hermione. Her heart pounded in her chest, a mixture of shock, confusion, and something else she didn't want to acknowledge tightening her throat.
"Oh, no," she whispered to herself, squeezing her eyes shut as if she could erase the sight from her memory. But when she opened them again, Malfoy was still there, still too close, still too… real.
Flashes of the previous night began to assault her mind—vivid, horrifying memories of her throwing herself at him, of his arms around her, of things that made her skin crawl. She remembered Ron's admission, the truth about the love potion, and her heart twisted with disgust—not just for what she had done, but for the way she had been manipulated.
"How could he do this to me?" she thought bitterly. The anger simmered beneath her shock, slowly overtaking it, until it was all she could feel.
Carefully, she slipped out of bed, desperate not to wake Malfoy. Her movements were stiff and robotic as she gathered her clothes, her mind still reeling from the reality of what had happened. Each piece of clothing felt like a lead weight, and as she dressed, a suffocating sense of guilt and shame settled over her like a heavy blanket.
She glanced at Malfoy one last time, the sight of him peaceful and unaware only fueling her anger. Without a sound, she slipped out of the room, closing the door softly behind her.
The cool morning air hit her like a slap as she rushed out of the building. She needed to find Ron, to confront him. The betrayal was too deep to ignore. The journey to Ron's place was a blur, her mind racing with anger and hurt. When she arrived, she pounded on the door, her heart hammering in her chest. There was no answer. She knocked again, harder this time. Still nothing.
"Ron!" she shouted, her voice cracking with emotion. "Ron, open the door!"
But the house remained silent.
Frustrated, Hermione pulled out her phone, ready to call him and demand an explanation. As she unlocked it, dozens of missed calls and unread messages appeared. Her heart sank as she saw the names—Harry, Ginny, and Ron. Her phone had been on silent.
Damn it. If only she had heard their calls, maybe things wouldn't have gone this far. Maybe they could have stopped her before she made the biggest mistake of her life. Tears welled up in her eyes as she scrolled through the missed notifications. The first message she read was from Harry:
"Hermione, please read this as soon as you see it. You've been drugged. It was a love potion—Ron's stupid, reckless idea. You need to get away from Malfoy. Call me as soon as you see this. I will come and get you, I promise."
The next message was from Ginny:
"Hermione, I'm so sorry. Ron is a complete idiot. He drugged you. Please don't do anything you will regret. We can fix this, we have the antidote. Pleace call us, okay?"
Tears blurred her vision as she read Ginny's words. The concern from both of them was overwhelming, but beneath it was a harsh truth—she had been drugged, her actions manipulated by someone she had trusted implicitly.
With trembling hands, Hermione hesitated before opening Ron's message. She wasn't sure she could handle reading his words, knowing they would be laced with selfishness. But she needed to understand how he could have done something so awful.
"Hermione, I'm so sorry. I never meant for this to happen. I just… I miss us. I thought if I could get you to see that we're meant to be together, everything would fall into place. I know it was wrong, but I love you. Please forgive me."
As she read Ron's words, a wave of nausea rolled over her. The sheer audacity of him trying to justify his actions with love made her stomach turn. This wasn't love; it was manipulation, control, and betrayal.
Hermione quickly swiped the message away, unable to bear reading it again. The final message was from Harry, sent just two hours ago:
"Hermione, I've been looking everywhere for you—your place, Malfoy's place, Malfoy Manor, every hotel I can think of. I know it's probably too late, but I'm on your side. I'm waiting for you at Grimmauld Place. Please come. we are worried about you. please don't shut us out. you don't have to go through this alone"
Harry's words were a lifeline in the storm of her emotions. He had been searching for her, trying to make things right. The thought of going to Grimmauld Place, a place filled with memories of safety and support, was both comforting and painful.
With renewed determination, Hermione stood up and headed to Grimmauld Place. She knew she needed to face Harry and sort through the chaos that had unfolded. As she walked away from Ron's doorstep, her mind raced through the events of the night and the confrontation that awaited her.
Hermione's footsteps echoed through the darkened hallways of Grimmauld Place as she finally reached the door. With a deep breath, she opened it and stepped inside. Harry was waiting for her, his face etched with concern and relief. Before she could say anything, Ron burst into view, his face pale and eyes wide with guilt and desperation.
"Hermione!" Ron's voice cracked as he rushed toward her, pulling her into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry, Hermione. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Please, forgive me."
Hermione's heart pounded with rage and betrayal. She shoved him away, her eyes blazing. "How could you, Ron? How could you think it was okay to drug me? To use me like that?"
Ron took a step back, his face full of regret. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I just thought—"
"Thought what?" Hermione interrupted, her voice rising. "That you could control my feelings? That you could fix things with a potion? This is not how you fix a relationship, Ron! This is not love. This is manipulation and deceit!"
Ron's shoulders slumped. "I know I messed up. I just wanted us to be together again."
"You had no right to make that choice for me, Ron. I trusted you, and you betrayed that trust."
Tears welled up in her eyes as she struggled to hold her composure. "I can't even look at you right now."
Ginny stepped forward, her expression a mixture of sympathy and anger. "Ron, I think it's best if you leave" She said firmly.
Ron looked between Ginny and Hermione, his face full of anguish. "But I—"
Harry nodded in agreement. "Ginny's right. You need to go."
With a heavy heart, Ron gave Hermione one last sorrowful look before turning and walking out the door. The room fell into an uneasy silence.
Ginny approached Hermione, her face full of regret. "I'm sorry, Hermione. I didn't want Ron here, but he wouldn't leave."
Hermione took a deep breath, her anger giving way to a weary resolve. "Actually, I'm glad he was here. I needed that confrontation."
Ginny nodded, giving Hermione a comforting hug. Harry joined them, wrapping his arms around Hermione as well. The warmth and support from her friends provided a small but much-needed sense of safety.
Harry, as an Auror, took a step back and looked at Hermione with concern. "Hermione, if you want to press charges, I'll get on it right away."
Hermione shook her head, struggling with her emotions. "I'm not sure yet. I need to think about it. But right now, I'm grateful for both of you."
Ginny gave her a reassuring squeeze. "We're here for you, Hermione. Whatever you need."
Harry nodded in agreement. "We'll get through this together."
Hermione felt a sense of relief in the embrace of her friends, knowing she wasn't alone in facing the aftermath of the night's events.
