Sophia's POV

We parked and began to head down to the quarry and I battled with my inner thoughts knowing that my brothers wouldn't give up, they'd die to protect this Elena girl just like they died to protect Katherine and I hated them for that, I hated their inability to see that it was the same cycle and that I was going to be forced to watch it all over again.

"You okay luv?" I heard Nik ask making me look up to notice that I'd fallen behind a little.

"I'm fine" I nodded shaking off my thoughts, I couldn't let myself care for my idiotic brothers, I didn't care for them anymore not when they abandoned me and betrayed me, my loyalty and love was for Nik and if they were too stupid to understand that a rescue attempt was futile then I wasn't going to stand by and watch them repeat their...indiscretion behavior when it comes to girls.

"Greta, witches are supposed to maintain the balance of nature, it's your duty to them to keep this curse sealed" I heard a familiar voice but knew it wasn't Katherine which meant it must have been Elena's which just like her face was exactly like Katherine.

"My duty is to Klaus!" we heard Greta yell and I scoffed, although I admired her devotion I'd always had a feeling that she held more that friendly feelings towards Nik and I wasn't jealous but that doesn't mean I liked it. "The new order"

"Glad to know I still have a dance partner" Nik spoke as we appeared in the clearing overlooking the quarry and I glared at him before rolling my eyes then turned and looked at the three women in rings of fire clearly spelled to keep them contained until Nik needed them and my eyes met the doppelgangers as she stared at me as if she knew me which made me raise an eye at her. "Hello my lovelies, are we ready?" Nik asked them raring to do this and finally unbind his werewolf side.

Greta and Nik got ready and began the ritual with Greta starting the spell locked in the moonstone while I stood by and could only watch since I had no real part in the ritual other than to support Nik which I did whole heartedly.

"Who are you?" I heard the doppelgangers voice ask and I turned towards her.

"That's really none of your business now is it?" I asked raising an eye in her direction.

"I'm just asking" she spat back at me and I actually laughed as she thought she could be snarky and get away with it, she was lucky she was in a protective circle but she was gonna die anyway so I guess I could have some fun.

"Did the Salvatore's ever mention that they had a sister?" I asked walking closer to her circle watching as her brows furrowed.

"No" she replied and I stopped since I hadn't actually counted on that.

"Well then it seems my brothers have been lying to you"

"No" she argued shaking her head.

"On the contrary Elena it's not surprising that they didn't mention a sister considering they left her behind, chose a lying bitch over their own flesh and blood and even after they were turned into vampires they chose to go on with their lives without even looking for her because they would have found her alive" her face stared back at mine impassively like she didn't want to believe me but everything I said was nothing but the truth and she seemed to know that.

"Your-"

"Sophia Salvatore" I smiled and mock curtsied for my own entertainment.

"If you're their sister than why are you with Klaus?" she asked and I scoffed.

"Because he was there for me when I needed someone the most" I bit back at her feeling anger beginning to take over me.

"He turned you" she stated coming to correct assumption.

"He saved me after I had to watch my own brothers chose Katherine over me and stupidly get themselves killed even after I told them that she was playing them both for fools, they believed her over their own sister and when I tried to save them their so called love interest left me to bleed in the forest!" I was getting worked up now that I felt the veins bubbling beneath my eyes and the familiar pain in my gums. "He's the only one whose been there for me and frankly I'm glad to watch you die because once again the alure of your face is forcing my brothers apart" I spat turning away from her and marched towards the water's edge of the quarry looking out at the dark water with only the full moons light reflecting off it.

I turned back around just in time to see the fire around the werewolf retracting and she wasted no time trying to escape by trying to attack Nik but he was ready and expecting this which meant he was able to knock her down instantly and within a second he had her heart in his hand.

He walked over to the fire Greta was casting her spell over and squeezed the heart making the blood from it drop into the pyre and I could hear it bubbling from where I stood and I sighed beginning to walk back over.

"Does that mean it's working?" Nik asked Greta as the liquid boiled over, the blood making it change color.

"It's working" Greta nodded and I smiled a little as Nik looked over hearing me approaching before he turned and walked back towards the fire circles looking down at the doppelgangers Aunt.

"Hello Jenna" Nik smiled towards the woman.

"Let her go" Elena protested and I scoffed since did she honestly think she got a choice in this or that we'd even listen to her, Nik had been waiting for this day for over 1000 years and he wasn't going to suddenly grow a moral consciousness to spare someone we didn't even know or care about. "I understand that I have to die but she doesn't" she added and tried to step outside her circle but the fire flared up stopping her.

"Careful" Nik warned her and I laughed a little knowing he only cared since she was supposed to die when he wanted.

"Elena don't" Jenna told her niece.

"No Jenna we can't leave Jeremy without a family" I rolled my eyes since family was overrated, the people you shared blood with always let you down which is why it was better to choose your own family. "I followed your rules, I did everything that you asked I didn't run!" god she was actually crying, I may tear up but I never let my tears flow in front of anyone. "Please..." she begged looking straight at Nik as Greta continued to chant in the background.

"Well, well...I don't recall you being on the guest list" Nik suddenly said confusing me until I turned following his gaze and there on the hill stood my little brother and my eyes widened and just like with Damon his eyes widened when he saw me, the two of us staring at each other.

"I'm here to talk" he said moving his eyes off me towards Nik.

"Very well then" Nik replied disappearing from view and I saw him reappear on the hill next to Stefan and I strained my ears to listen. "What can I do for you Mr Salvatore?"

"What's going on?" Jenna asked.

"I don't know" Elena breathed out before she turned to Jenna. "You can hear them, you can hear anything just...just focus on them" I rolled my eyes since what did she really know about vamp powers but I was too occupied on listening myself.

"You don't need to kill Jenna, I'll take her place" I heard Stefan say and scoffed shaking my head since this just proved my point, it was the same cycle of events and neither one of my idiot brothers would ever learn that nothing good ever came from the Petrova doppelgangers.

"Oh I don't know, I rather appreciate the symmetry of three women...three goddesses, sacrificed at natures alter" I rolled my eyes at Nik's reply.

"What are they saying?" I heard Elena ask Jenna.

"I can't, I can't make it out" Jenna shook her head and I turned to her, even with my back turned I could still hear Nik.

"You can do this, just relax focus"

"Don't play games with me, you'll get what you want either way" I heard my little brother say.

"I can hear him, I can hear Stefan" Jenna finally said.

"What are they saying?" Elena demanded and I frowned at the worried tone in her voice, like she actually cared so long as she was saved and her family was safe.

"You're quite the hero, aren't you...yeah I heard that about you" I scoffed since my little brother was always the hero, saint Stefan in our fathers eyes.

"He always was saint Stefan" I spat venomously to myself.

"Just make the trade" Stefan said looking at me but he was clearly speaking to Nik. "Me for Jenna"

"Oh my god" Jenna breathed out hearing this as well.

"What is it?" Elena asked being the only one that couldn't hear.

"He wants to take my place" she told her and I sighed turning around and started heading towards Greta watching as she continued to chant and tend to the spell brewing away while I contemplated whether I wanted to stand by and watch my little brother martyr himself for some human girl.

"Quite the predicament, you know it's funny all this talk about preserving family and here's Stefan granting your wish" I scoffed since he didn't care about preserving his own family 100 years ago when it truly mattered.

"Stefan..."

"It's okay" Stefan cut Elena off and I glared at the sappy scene

"Well, who's it going to be, Elena?"

"No" Elena argued shaking her head as I picked up a stake turning to my brother since I wasn't letting this happen, history was not going to repeat itself and wasted no time speeding towards Stefan.

"There's actually no choice" I spat as I staked Stefan in the back.

"No Stefan, no!" Elena cried out before she looked towards me with wide eyes like she couldn't believe I had done that when she didn't even know me.

"We have other plans for your boyfriend" Nik smirked at her. "I want him alive but for now..." he punches Stefan snapping his neck and I let him fall to the floor smirking up at Elena since he might be my brother but when it came down to it, I didn't care. "Whenever you're ready, Greta" Nik went on calling over to his witch and the circle of fire around Jenna disappears. "Your turn"

"No, Jenna, no!" Elena cried out again and I rolled my eyes since did this girl do anything else besides cry like a child.

"It's alright Elena, I know what I have to do" Jenna suddenly replied before she actually surprised us by rushing over to Greta and bit her but Klaus rushed over and stopped her before she had a chance to kill her and stakes her in the side before letting her fall to the floor as once again Elena cries out.

"Jenna no!" I smirked over at Nik as he prepared to stake Jenna through the heart and Jenna looked over at Elena who was bawling at this point. "Just turn it off, Jenna turn it off you won't be scared anymore" I raised an eye since what did that matter but watched as Nik flipped her onto her back and staked her. "No Jenna, no...Jenna no!" I smirked over at Elena as she continued to cry before I walked towards Nik.

"I almost can't wait until the crybaby is dead" I whispered to him as he wrapped one arm around my waist as we watched Greta pour another ingredient into the pyre while chanting the spell before we started walking towards Elena finally ready for the final part and I noticed Stefan was awake once again.

"It's time" Nik announced looking towards Elena and the circle of fire disappears as he holds his hand toward her but she doesn't take it and goes to the altar so he just follows her over "Thank you, Elena"

"Go to hell" she spat at him and I smirked since at least she held her own until the end and I watch with a satisfied smirk as he bites her and begins to drink her blood and I watch as Stefan looks at her, powerless while Elena looks at him before Klaus releases her and she falls on the ground, her heart taking its final beat as the fire in the pyre goes out, the spell is complete.

"Why are you doing this?" I heard Stefan ask and looked down seeing he was looking at me but I refused to answer him and started walking towards Nik as he stepped off the alter.

"I can feel it, it's happening!" Nik yells out in joy as his transformation begins and I watch on with support and pride but a little apprehensive as I watched as his bones began to break but he didn't seem to feel the pain so I didn't interfere letting Nik have his moment seeing his eyes turn a brilliant golden yellow with the veins bubbling beneath them before he was suddenly thrown aside and I spun seeing a dark skinned teenage witch approaching chanting something in Latin but before I had time to react against her I heard a snap and looked up seeing Damon had killed Greta. "No you were dead!" Nik yelled out looking at the teen witch as she continued to use her powers and makes him suffer and I hear him screaming

"Nik!" I scream and speed to his side looking up seeing Damon carry Elena's body and lay her next to Stefan before he suddenly takes off with with Elena while the witch is still hurting Klaus, who's screaming and I can do nothing to stop it except hold his head in my lap before she suddenly stops and my eyes widen when I see Elijah.

"Elijah?" I asked shocked and confused on what he was doing, why he was helping them do this to Nik.

"Hello, brother" Elijah says looking down at Nik before I suddenly felt myself being pulled away and I fought against the arms looking back to see they were Stefan's.

"Let me go!" I yelled out before watching as Elijah puts his hand through Nik's chest looking ready to rip his heart out. "NO!" I screamed.

"In the name of our family, Niklaus-"

"I didn't bury them at sea!" Nik yelled to stop his brother. "Their bodies are safe, if you kill me, you'll never find them" he added and I saw Elijah turn towards me but even I didn't know where the rest of the Mikaelson's were unless Nik took me to them.

"Elijah, don't listen to him" Stefan warned him.

"I can take you to them, I give you my word...brother" I smiled at the look on Elijah's face knowing he valued his family and wanted them back which meant Nik would be safe.

"Do it and I'll take you both out" the witch warned Elijah.

"You'll die" Elijah argued back and I looked over at her.

"I don't care" she spat.

"I'm sorry" Elijah said and my eyes met Nik's before I watched as he sped away with Nik and the last thing I heard was him yelling my name because before I'd even thought about breaking out of my little brothers arms I felt a sharp snap and everything went black.
