Sophia's POV

I groaned waking up feeling like my head was still pounding and I had the worse headache from hell before my eyes snapped open flashing to my feet but didn't get far as I felt something contort around my ankle restricting me from going more than a couple feet making me look down seeing a chain around my leg keeping me locked in place, I glared at it and grabbed the chain yanking at it to break it but it didn't give.

"What the hell?" I looked around since I should be stronger than this, I couldve easily broke these chains but then the moment before I passed out came back and I remembered being surrounded by people and clearly they weren't human since they'd been strong enough to take me out and with the migraine they seemed like witches to me and with the way I feel I wouldn't be surprised if they were weakening me somehow.

I looked around taking note of my surroundings, crumbling stone walls, plagues on the walls...I was in a damn crypt and it smelt distinctly like sage and witch hazel which confirmed that the people that kidnapped me and I had stomped on my damn phone after that god awful sound had come out of it which meant I couldn't even call for help.

"I don't know who you witches think you are but your making a huge mistake!" I yelled towards the door of the crypt, these people would've been idiots to leave me chained up alone and with the way I felt they had to be weakening me with vervain since that's the only thing that would make me feel this way aside from their magic which was also a cause for concern so I pulled on the chains again. "You have no idea who your dealing with!" I yelled right before someone walked in and I glared at the girl.

"Actually we know exactly who you are, it's why you're here" she argued walking further into the crypt and I watched her with narrowed eyes as she got closer before I sped towards her snarling with my vampire face out and baring my fangs but she didn't even flinch back as I reached the end of my chain and was forced to come to a stop.

"Let me go or I swear I'll kill you all"

"We'll release you once he gets here" she argued turning to light a couple of candles in the room.

"Whose 'he'?" I asked her with a confused frown but she didn't reply and walked out. "Who are you people?!" I yelled after her but she didn't answer that either making me let out a growl grabbing the chain and pulled on it hearing it come loose one pin making me smile but that clearly alerted my captors since a man came in and I saw the syringe in his hand. "Touch me with that and I'll rip out your eyes and shove them down your-" I charged at him but he moved out of the way when I came to the end of my chain and I felt the pinch in the side of my neck instantly going weak. "Son of a-" I staggered back, my body instantly feeling weak with his hands suddenly guiding me down to the floor before everything faded to black once again.

The next time I felt myself coming around I didn't really move a muscle, figured I'd take a page out of my twins handbook and pretend to be out still which would lower their defences if they thought I was still unconscious leaving me the opportunity to rip out their bloody necks and make my escape when the vervain was out of my system but it wasn't long until I heard the sound of people entering and my the sounds of it they were bringing another captive in and although I was curious I remained still with my eyes closed.

"Sophia?" I heard my name and I almost broke my façade recognizing the voice, it was Hayley the werewolf girl Nik and I had recused from Katherine, the one who had betrayed Tyler by telling Nik that his hybrids had broken their sire bonds. "Are you crazy, do you know who her husband is?" she asked them.

"Klaus Mikaelson" the same girl from earlier replied and I furrowed my brows just slightly, if they knew who I was then that meant I was bait...bait for Nik since he had to be the 'he' that she mentioned earlier.

I listened to one set of footsteps leave the crypt obviously leaving Hayley behind which was kind of risky for them considering I was actually hungry as I didn't know how long I've been here with all the vervain they'd been drugging me with and I could already smell the blood coursing through Hayley's body right now.

"Hello again Hayley" I spoke up opening my eyes and watched her jump and turn around.

"You're awake"

"Have been for a while actually, thought I'd buy my time and try to get this vervain out of my system" I replied sitting up placing my arms on my knees as I stared at her with curiosity wondering why the hell she was even here. "Where'd they pick you up from?" I questioned her narrowing my eyes suspiciously since this girl has a history for stabbing people in the back.

"The bayou, I was looking for my family" she replied and I frowned remembering myself telling her about the wolves in the bayou after seeing her tattoo.

"Any luck?" I questioned but she just shook her head and as I was about to say something else my head snapped up when I heard a familiar voice right before the man that had drugged me earlier was back with buddies and I sped onto my feet baring my fangs again since he was number 1 on my list to feed on when I broke out of here. "Hayley get behind me" I told her but they moved towards us and had grabbed her before she got the chance then came closer to me, this time he had a wooden stake in his hand.

"Shut up and come with us if you want to live"

"Seriously, you think that scares me" I scoffed at the cliché captor saying but they suddenly unchained my feet from the anchor point, I've seen much scarier things...hell I was married to one of the most frightening men on the planet to everyone else.

"Walk" they told me and I felt the tip of the stake against my back making me growl but did as I was told since they were clearly taking me to the voice I had heard from the crypt next door.

Third Person's POV

Sophie Deveraux was walking towards the Lafayette cemetery with Elijah Mikaelson following behind her after he'd saved her life from a couple of Marcel's vampires and he demanded to know why the witches were conspiring against Klaus but was stopped from entering the cemetery behind her by a barrier spell much like the same of a human domain.

"This is scared ground which means vampires have to be invited in but since I'm desperate…come on in" she said and Elijah was able to walk through the gate and continued following her through the aisles of crypts. "We can talk freely here" she added.

"Then I suggest you get talking" Elijah warned her. "What did your sister want with Niklaus?" he asked her.

"Isn't it obvious we have a vampire problem and we need help, Marcel has an army backing him, the witches have been trying to fight back we haven't had much luck until my sister Jane-Anne met a girl" Sophie explained. "A vampire passing through the Quarter from a small town in Virginia...she has a special connection to your brother" Sophie explained and immediately a knowing look came over Elijah.

"Sophia, she's here?" Elijah asked the witch.

"Yes and apparently they spent some...time together like all married couples do and one thing lead to another and a miracle happened because she was pregnant and the father of the child that she was carrying is your brother Klaus"

"It's impossible" Elijah argued.

"Nothing is impossible especially not when it comes to your brother, think about it they call him the Hybrid, right" she argued back.

"What do you mean 'was'?" Elijah asked the witch with a slight narrowed look since if they had hurt Sophia then he would kill them before Niklaus did.

"Bring them out!" was all Sophie said and Elijah looked back as a group of witches began to lead two people out from a crypt.

Sophia's POV

The witches dragged me and Hayley out of the crypt and my eyes immediately fell onto my brother-in-law who stared back at me with a mix of emotions running over his face all at once before he turned to the witch behind him, the one that had been keeping me captive and now that we were in a more lit up crypt I recognized her, it was Sophie the cook from Rousseau's.

"Elijah?" I questioned seeing as I was confused on what he was even doing here, how did he know I was here and if he was here than where the hell was Nik. "What are you doing with them?" I nodded my head at the witches.

"Give us a moment" Elijah said turning to the witch Sophie and the witches gave us privacy and we moved further into the crypt in which we had been held in. "So have they been holding you both here, against your will?" he asked looking at Hayley more than me furrowing his brows at her while I gave him a confused look.

"They lured me out to the bayou and grabbed me" Hayley replied before he looked at me.

"They screwed with my car as I was driving back to Mystic Falls and gave me a damn witch migraine and that's the last thing I remembered before waking up chained like an animal" I added and he frowned. "I don't even know what I'm doing here, if they want to get to Nik so bad then they definitely have made one enemy given I'm going to rip their bloody heads off before he even gets here" I scoffed through a glare towards the door where the witches were waiting, hopefully they heard my threat because I meant it.

"They did all these weird witchy tests on me" Hayley suddenly spoke up and I turned to look at her raising an eye in question.

"Why would they do that?" I asked her and she looked up at me before turning to Elijah and I saw their looks, they clearly knew something I didn't. "You two mind filling me in on whatever to two of you know?" I growled out annoyed and Elijah turned towards me.

"I don't even understand how this can happen" Hayley continued to go on making me turn back towards her. "Vampires are dead, they can't have children" she added and my eyes widened.

"Wait hold on back up, why the hell are we talking about children!"

"Sophia..." Elijah began and I turned back to him. "You and Klaus-"

"No" I shook my head cutting him off. "No Elijah, don't you say it...that's not possible"

"I said the same thing myself" he argued before turning his head to Hayley. "Until I saw her" I turned to Hayley, my eyes narrowed in confusion.

"This doesn't make any sense, what are you trying to tell me?" I asked him taking a step back from them.

"You were pregnant Sophia" he replied and I felt like I was gonna be sick, if that was even possible for a vampire to do so.

"...'We're'?" I questioned but his response was to turn his head to Hayley again so I turned back towards her and it was as if I needed to hear the words but I could suddenly hear it...a second heartbeat coming from her that I had been oblivious too this entire time.

"None of this explains how it's possible" Hayley quickly argued while I was stunned in my spot unable to tear my eyes off her or stop myself from hearing that tiny but fast heartbeat coming from her midsection.

"Perhaps if you knew my brothers story it might explain how this is possible" he replied and walked over to where Hayley was sitting on a stone bench. "Here, if I may" she flinched back when he suddenly reached out towards her head in order to share his memories.

"What are you doing?" Hayley demanded.

"Relax" he argued sitting down next to her. "If you open your mind to me I can show you" I frowned since I didn't know how this was going to explain how in the hell any of this was possible, it had to be a trick. "In the beginning, our family was human...a thousand years ago, now" I sighed quickly speeding over and placed my hand on Elijah's head allowing him to take me into his memories as well feeling like I had to see whatever he was showing Hayley.

(Italics = Flashback -Inside Sophia's head)(Standard = Elijah talking in the present)

"Come, Henrik...our brothers are fighting again" I saw Rebekah smile and run with a smaller boy while still hearing Elijah's voice explain what I was seeing and I smiled a little when I saw Nik and Elijah with swords clashing and clanging, he looked so different...more innocent and childish than I'd ever seen him.

"Although our mother dabbled in the dark arts, we were actually just a family trying to survive in a time when it was quite difficult to do so and for better or worse, we were happy" I smiled a little as I saw Nik cut away Elijah's belt and the smile on his face reminded me of how I had felt when he smiled at me because it was the same one that always made my heart race. "That is however, until one night, our youngest brother was killed by our village's greatest threat" I watched as Nik comes forward carrying the young boy from earlier, their youngest brother...the one Nik had told me about.

"Mother!" the pain in his voice made me feel heavy, almost like I could feel his pain and anguish.

"Men that could transform themselves into wolves during the full moon, our family was devastated, none more than Niklaus, desperate to protect the rest of us our father forced our mother to call upon her black magic in order to make us stronger" I continued to watch the Mikaelson story play out inside my head watching as Mikael hold the bleeding arm of a human in front of Rebekah.

"Drink!" he yelled and forced Rebekah to drink the blood which had obviously completed her transition.

"Thus, the first vampires were born but with this speed, this strength, this immortality, came a terrible hunger...no one felt this hunger more than Niklaus" I watched as Nik attacks a human and is feeding on them before the person dies. "When he killed for the first time, we knew what he truly was" I watch as Nik begins to turn into a wolf screaming as his bones cracked while Mikael and Elijah come running.

"Niklaus!"

"What is happening to me?" Nik asks them as Elijah starts to run to his brother but is held back by Mikael.

"Don't!"

"Father, it hurts!" Nik yelled looking up with yellow eyes, his vampire veins bubbling beneath them, I flinched feeling like I could physically feel the pain Nik had felt in that moment despite not being his equal in that aspect, it was one part of Nik and I that wasn't the same.

"He's a beast, an abomination" Mikael yelled, my frown turned into an angry one still hating that man even after he was dead.

"He wasn't just a vampire" Elijah said and my eyes finally opened, coming out of the memories that he'd shared with us.

"He was also a werewolf, that's how the werewolf curse works it isn't activated until you take a life" Hayley spoke while I was too stunned after seeing all that, Nik had shared most of it with me but seeing it was a whole new feeling.

"Niklaus was the result of an indiscretion our mother had hidden from us all, an affair with a werewolf like yourself" he nodded at Hayley before sending us back in...A woman who I assumed was their mother as I had never seen her stood in front of a fire, obviously casting a spell. "Infuriated by this betrayal, my father forced our mother to cast a spell that would suppress Klaus's werewolf side, denying him any connection with his true self" Mikael was chaining Nik to a wooden cross but Nik was of course fighting him.

"Elijah...Elijah, hold him down!"

"Brother, please!" Nik yelled, despaired and dare I say afraid. "Don't let them do this to me!" he begged as he looked at Elijah.

"Do it now, boy...now!" Mikael continued and I watched as Elijah went over and helped Mikael chain Nik down, I frowned at this but knew he hadn't had a choice since Mikael was just as cruel back then as to when I joined the family and was chased off and tortured by the man.

"Help me!" Nik begged his brother but was ignored...I opened my eyes again and looked up at Elijah.

"Your fathers always been a dick" I said and he chuckled nodding his head in agreeance.

"I'm Hayley by the way, you should probably know my name if your gonna tell me your whole life story" Hayley spoke up and the two of them shook hands while I moved away to start pacing since this still didn't make any sense. "I mean I know yours, your family is legendary and your brother is a notorious psycho"

"Your not the one married to him" I scoffed rolling my eyes.

"I cannot excuse his behavior but you must understand, when our father hunted him...hunted us for centuries" he quickly said gesturing to me and I frowned as Hayley looked up at me. "Every time we found a moment of happiness we were forced to flee" Elijah replied and I let out a sigh as I remembered quite well the oppressive feeling of their father's attempts to kill Nik and the fear of being captured and used against him again. "Even here in New Orleans where we were happiest of all, not long after Niklaus broke the spell which prevented him from becoming a hybrid he defeated our father, I thought this would make him happy" he continued and shook his head. "He was angrier than ever" he turned towards me. "I wonder if perhaps this baby might be a way for the two of you to find happiness, a way to save him from himself" I frowned at that since I still didn't fully believe this was real even with the heartbeat coming from Hayley since I still didn't understand how that was possible.

"I'm glad you feel that way, because we need your help" Sophie announced walking into the crypt, I glared at her since I really didn't like her.

"What precisely is it that you want and what does it have to do with my sister-in-law and this young woman?" Elijah asked her nodding at me and Hayley

"We want to run Marcel and his vampires out of town, Klaus is the key, everything Marcel knows about being a vampire he learned from Klaus...Marcel trusts him, looks up to him and he won't see the betrayal coming" my eyes widened at the name 'Marcel'...he was alive but I quickly hid my reaction as I glared at Sophie.

"Yes, well as I'm sure you're aware my husband Niklaus doesn't like to be told what to do" I scoffed since she was clearly out of her depth if she thought she could try and tell Nik what to do.

"That's why I brought you here" she argued nodding at me. "Marcel drove the werewolves out of town decades ago, do you really think he's going to welcome a hybrid baby to the neighborhood?" I glared at her since we didn't have to stay here, Marcel can have New Orleans for all I care. "Convince Klaus to help us and no one has to know about the newest member of the Original family" she nodded at Hayley.

"That sounds remarkably like blackmail" Elijah spoke towards Sophie.

"Like I said, I'm desperate" she argued and we all glared at each other before Elijah sighed.

"Well then, I have my work cut out for me, don't I?" he stated then stood and left, I tried to follow him but the witches blocked my way.

"Get out of my way, if anyone is going to convince Klaus it's me" I argued but they didn't budge and I let out a growl before I turned and my eyes fell on Hayley letting it drop since perhaps I should stay here anyway.

"If Klaus and I supposed made some miracle baby then how is it that she's pregnant?" I spat glaring at Sophie while I nodded at Hayley behind me.

"My sister, Jane-Anne" I nodded since I remembered her. "She died performing a spell that transferred the fetus from you into Hayley"

"Why?" I asked narrowing my eyes even more at her.

"She's far more vulnerable and easy to hold as leverage than you" she replied before she walked out and left her other witches to guard us.

"Wow I create a miracle baby and don't even get to carry it, god I hate witches" I scoffed taking a seat next to Hayley running my hands through my hair.

I pretty quickly went back to my pacing as the nerves got the better of me and I was becoming beyond nervous since I had no idea how Nik was going to react since this was just so freaking impossible but I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard the gate creak open alerting me to someone entering and I just knew he was here.

"Hear her out" I heard Elijah tell him as the witches started to lead me and Hayley into the crypt they were in.

"I don't need to hear her out, there is not a thing on this earth that would matter enough for me to waste even 30 more seconds of my time, Elijah was madness is this?" I was walked in at that moment.

"Nik" I called and he turned to me. "You need to listen to them" I told him since whatever this situation was, however messed up it was it was real...I knew that now.

"Sophia?" he asked looking at me with confusion in his eyes since he could probably see that I was shaking with nerves about the bombshell we were about to throw at him. "What's going on?" he asked me as I frowned and lowered my eyes.

"Marcel may be able to keep us from practicing real magic in this town but as keepers of the balance, we still know when nature has cooked up something new, for example I have a special gift of sensing when a girl is pregnant" Sophie cut in and I looked up seeing Nik turned to her.

"What?" Nik asked barely above a whisper.

"I know, it's impossible-" I started taking a deep breath to calm myself down so that hopefully I'd be able to keep Nik calm already knowing this was going to take some time to sink in for him, just like it had for me.

"What are you saying?" Nik asked turning to me.

"Niklaus…the girl is carrying yours and Sophia's child" Elijah told him and I watched Nik's face take it in as he turned towards Hayley.

"No it's impossible" Klaus argued shaking his head.

"I said the same thing myself" Elijah told him.

" This is a lie, your all lying, vampires cannot procreate" Nik argued shaking his head in denial.

"But werewolves can, magic made you a vampire but you were born a werewolf, you're the original hybrid, the first of your kind and this pregnancy...is one of nature's loopholes"

"Sophia this is a trick!" Nik screamed and I jumped surprised at the sudden anger coming from him, I'd been expecting it but it still made me jump. "She's been with someone, admit it!" he yelled towards Hayley.

"Hey, I've been held captive in a freakin' alligator bayou because they think that I'm carrying some magical miracle baby that you two created, don't you think I would've fessed up if I had been with someone?" Hayley spat glaring at him.

"My sister gave her life to perform the spell she needed to confirm Sophia was pregnant and transfer it to Hayley, because of Jane-Anne's sacrifice the lives of this girl and your baby are now controlled by us" Sophie spoke up again and I glared at her again. "We can keep them safe or we can kill them" my eyes snapped towards the witch with a glare. "If you don't help us take down Marcel, so help me Hayley won't live long enough to see her first maternity dress"

"Wait, what?" I asked since seriously that was just messed up and I showed off my vampire face taking a step towards her but Elijah held out a hand stopping me.

"Enough of this, if you want Marcel dead, he's dead I'll do it myself" Elijah cut in while Nik remained scary quiet and that was scaring me since I didn't know what he was thinking as he was refusing to even look at me since this was announced.

"No we can't not yet, we have a clear plan that we need to follow and there are rules" Sophie argued and I immediately saw the change in Nik and I looked at Sophie ready to wring her neck knowing Nik would never help now as he refused to be controlled by anyone.

"How dare you command me?" Nik spat at her turning to face her. "Threaten me with what you wrongfully perceive to be my weaknesses, this is a pathetic deception I won't hear any more lies!" he yelled starting to walk out.

"Niklaus" Elijah called him back and he paused turning back to face his brother. "Listen" he told him and Nik slowly turned back towards us meeting my eyes for a second before he turned to Hayley dropping his eyes to her hand which was laid over her stomach and I knew he was listening to the small tiny heartbeat coming from it and watched his face take it in, the tears building in his eyes…the silent gasp when he heard our child's heartbeat before he suddenly disappears out of the crypt without so much as a word.

"Let me handle this, no one touches Hayley" I quickly say to everyone giving the witches a death glare challenging them to argue but they don't and allow me to pass them so I quickly follow him.

Nik was walking through New Orleans taking deep breaths as I followed behind him at first letting him have a moment before I spoke up, I knew he was battling the thoughts in his head which is why I let him walk away but enough was enough...I wouldn't let him walk away from this, not when this was our chance...our chance to be a real family.

"Niklaus" I called to him using his full name for a reason, so that I got his attention and it worked as I saw his shoulders tense as he kept walking.

"It's a trick Sophia" he argued continuing to walk clearly feeling like he needed to get as far away from that cemetery as possible.

"No my lover it's a gift, it's your chance, it's our chance" I argued back finally getting him to stop and turn towards me.

"To what?" he demanded throwing his hands out to his sides.

"To have a family" I stated walking towards him until I was in front of him. "You promised me that if it was ever possible that you'd want that remember" I reached up and placed my hands on either side of his face pulling him into my mind.

I sat on the balcony of Nik and I's room at the abattoir, watching the sun set in the horizon over the Mississippi with tears blinding me since for the first time today I felt the devastating loss of becoming a vampire, I had spent majority of my day roaming the city as I often liked doing given it was swarming with tourists for one of New Orleans festivals and amongst it all i was forced to watch family's, kids and their parents smiling and laughing at all the decorations and it had brought on the devastating loss that I could never have that feeling, I could never have a child of my own...I had gotten the marriage of my dreams but we could never begin the next step in what was supposed to be life by starting a family of our own.

"Love?" I quickly wiped my eyes but it was too late as he walked over and sat in the chair next to mine reaching out to grab my hands. "What happened, who did this I'll kill him" I smiled a little but it wasn't enough to bring on a full one.

"No one, I'm fine"

"You're clearly not" he argued reaching up and ran his hand over my cheek brushing my hair behind my ear. "Tell me what's wrong?"

"It's nothing"

"It's not nothing if its upset you" Nik argued pulling my chair closer to his. "Tell me my love?"

"I just...I'm just mourning" I admitted.

"Your brothers?" he asked but I shook my head seeing his eyes scrunch up in confusion.

"For the first time since becoming a vampire I feel it" I admitted to him.

"Feel what?" he asked.

"The pain" I said and he looked even more confused. "I'll never have kids, we'll never have a family" I cried sobbing a little.

"Sophia..." he cupped my other cheek and raised my eyes to meet his. "Why haven't you told me you felt this way, you hide away when you're in pain-"

"Because I know you don't want to see me like this, you probably think I'm pathetic" I argued.

"I could never think your pathetic my love" he argued grabbing my waist and pulled me to sit in his lap before returning his hands to my face keeping my eyes locked with his. "If I could do anything to ease your pain over this I would, if it was possible I'd happily have a family with you my love but it's not possible"

"If it ever were, would you want a baby?" I asked him.

"With you, of course...you are the only one I would want to have a family of my own with, my love, my wife and I know you would have made an amazing mother"

"Promise?" I asked and he smiled.

"I promise" he vowed pressing his forehead against mine as we both smiled at each other...I let his mind go and found ourselves in the exact same potion as our past selves.

"We have that chance now Nik" I told him watching his eyes slowly open. "We've been blessed by a miracle and we may never get another one"

"No" he growled out letting me go and continued his pace walking away from me leaving me stunned, after all that he still refused.

"Leave it to me Sophia" I turned seeing Elijah and nodded my head fighting back the tears in which were threatening to fall as he passed me lightly touching my arm before he followed after Nik.

Third Person's POV

"Niklaus" Elijah called to him having followed him after leaving his heartbroken sister-in-law in tears, feeling anger towards his brother for not seeing how much she was hurting, he had known the two were having problems but he never thought Niklaus would be so cruel. "Can't you see this is a gift, it's your chance, it's our chance" Elijah rpeated his sister-in-laws words to him again finally getting Klaus to stop and turn to him.

"To what?" Klaus demanded again glaring at him.

"To start over, take back everything we've lost everything that was taken from us" Elijah replied and took slow careful steps towards him. "Niklaus our own parents came to despise us, our family was ruined, we were ruined and since then all that you have ever wanted, all that we have ever wanted, was a family" he continued before stopping in front of Klaus.

"I will not be manipulated" Klaus leaning in to push his point better before he turned to walk away again.

"So they're manipulating you, so what?" Elijah argued speeding in front of him to stop him from walking away. "With them, this girl…your wife and her child, your child...live"

"I'm gonna kill every last one of them" Klaus threatened before shoving Elijah and turned once more to walk away.

"And then what?" Elijah asked him speeding in front of him once again. "Then you return to Mystic Fall to resume your life as the hated one, as the evil hybrid, is it so important to you that people quake with fear at the sound of your name?"

"People quake with fear because I have the power to make them afraid, what will this child offer me, will it guarantee me power?"

"Family is power, Niklaus" Elijah told him enunciating every word. "Love, loyalty, it's power this is what we swore to one another a thousand years ago, what you swore to your wife on your wedding day, before life tore away what little humanity you had left, before ego, before anger, before paranoia created this person before me...someone I can barely even recognize as my own brother, this is us the Original family, we remain together always and forever, I am asking you to stay here I will help you and I will stand by you I will be your brother, we will build a home here together, so save this girl, save Sophia's and your child"

"No" Klaus spat again before successfully walking away unable to stop his heart skipping a beat at those words knowing he just sentenced himself to a life without Sophia knowing she'd never forgive him for this but he refused to give in when he believed it was all still a trick.

Sophia's POV

I had returned to the cemetery to be with Hayley since I didn't trust the witches, I had no idea what was going through Nik's mind right now and although I trusted Elijah I knew Nik could be stubborn and if he didn't believe that this was real then not much was going to change his mind on matter without more proof but these witches were adamant even if there was clearly some disagreement amongst them over Sophie's plan.

"Marcel and his vampires are out of control something had to be done" Sophie argued with one of the older witches in the room and I turned sharing a look with Hayley since if Elijah didn't return soon with the news that Nik was going to put his pig-headiness aside then I was going to have to get her out of here myself somehow.

"And the solution is to bring in more vampires?" the elder one said.

"These aren't just any vampires Agnes, they're the originals" I rolled my eyes at Sophie's reply.

"What makes you think you can control the hybrid?" Agnes asked her and I scoffed since no one could truly control Nik…not even me.

"She can't" we all heard and I sighed in relief seeing Elijah back. "Not entirely certain that I can either or Sophia" he added walking further inside the crypt as I looked down still reeling from the pain of Nik's words. "But now that your coven has drawn his ire I have a question what prevents my brother from murdering you instead of cooperating?" he asked looking at Sophie and her response was to walk over to a wall and pull off one of their talisman things and pulled a piece of straw from it then used it to prick the palm of her hand and Hayley yelled out beside me holding out her hand and I grabbed it looking down seeing blood from a cut in her palm in the exact same place.

"What the hell?" I asked making Elijah look over as I held her palm out to show him before glaring over at Sophie.

"The spell my sister performed the one that got her killed, it didn't just confirm and transfer the pregnancy it linked me to Hayley so anything that happens to me, happens to her which means her life is in my hands, Klaus may not care about his own child but it's very clear what it already means to you two" she nodded at Elijah and me. "If I have to hurt Hayley or worse to ensure that I have your attention, I will" Sophie explained and I glared at her while Elijah looked at her slightly amused by her audacity.

"You would dare threaten an Original?"

"I have nothing to lose" Sophie argued and the grin disappears from Elijah's face. "You have until midnight to get Klaus to change his mind" Elijah left once again and once again I was left to my thoughts slowly panicking and in result I began pacing back at forth.

"They're going to kill me aren't they?" Hayley asked and I stopped to look back at her. "Klaus is never going to agree" she added and I frowned not sure what I could tell her since I had no idea what Nik was thinking right now or what was going on outside these four walls but I had to have hope that Elijah could convince Nik since clearly I hadn't been enough.

Third Person's POV

Klaus holds a bottle in his hand, drinking from it as he walks into a storage building trying to drown himself in liquor and force away the thoughts of yet another betrayal to his wife but he hears Elijah arrive and speaks to him without turning.

"Have I not made clear my desire to be left alone?"

"Oh, you demand to be left alone at least once a decade, your words have ceased to have impact" Elijah argues and Klaus throws the bottle against the floor, where it breaks.

"Why must you keep harping on about the baby?" he demands turning to face Elijah. "That child will never be born, in fact Hayley is probably dead already" he adds smirking even though he internally feels a short burst of grief over the thought of Sophia's feelings since clearly she wanted the baby and Elijah vampire-speeds up to Klaus, holding his hand around his brother's throat.

"You will not walk away from this, from your wife!" Elijah threatens him pushing him against some shipping boxes, Klaus tries to escape but Elijah pushes him back with his hand against Klaus' jaw.

"Let...me...go" Klaus growls out angrily.

"I WILL NOT!" Elijah yells back and throws Klaus against the floor, then heaves him up again putting his arm around his throat not letting go off of him.

"Don't make me say it again"

"I will not let go, I will never let go" Elijah argues except Klaus grabs Elijah and hurls him against an iron rod fence, Elijah is right back up on his feet and takes one of the iron rods walking back towards Klaus, holding the rod in his hand. "Even if I have to spend eternity saving you from your own stubborn, petulant, vile self..." Elijah vampire-speeds up and hits Klaus with the iron rod. "If I have to beat you as father used to beat you, to remind you of your own humanity-" Elijah hits Klaus again. "–to care about anything..." he tries to hit Klaus again but this time Klaus is faster and grabs the iron rod and now he is the one hitting Elijah before he hurls Elijah a few meters back where he falls on the ground and stays down while Klaus breathes heavily and lets the iron rod fall to the ground and walks a few steps towards Elijah who is still lying on the ground.

"You're beyond pathetic, Elijah" Klaus spits down at his brother who wipes the blood from his mouth.

"Well who is more pathetic...the one who sees hope to make his family whole or the coward who only see the world through his own fear and disappoints his wife continuously?" Elijah asks Klaus.

"I haven't cared about anything for centuries, why on earth do you?" Klaus asks slightly lying but at the moment he has to in order to stop himself from giving into hope that he could have this, a family of his own with the love of his life.

"Because I failed you...because the first time our father laid a hand on you I should have struck him dead, I made a promise to you: always...forever, family above all" Klaus starts laughing then he reaches his hand to his brother, Elijah takes Klaus's hand and stands up as Klaus leans forward.

"You are a sentimental fool"

"Perhaps but I've lasted this long in spite of it haven't I?" Elijah asks him. "And what happened to the fool who was so in love with a girl, he married her and promised her the world" he quickly added before walking away leaving Klaus alone again.

Klaus leaves the storage place and is now sitting alone on a bench quietly thinking to himself looking out at the city in which they had built, the previous fight forgotten as his mind took him back for just a moment in which he heard his baby's heartbeat...Sophia and his baby's heartbeat...there was no denying that the girl was pregnant and for a moment he had seen the look in Sophia's eyes after he had her the heartbeat...he saw it just like the night he'd promised her he would have a family with her if it was ever possible her hope to have a child of their own...and from the moment he'd fallen in love with her he should have known that all things were possible with her...his thoughts cut off as Elijah joined him again sitting down next to him.

"Are you here to give me another pep talk on the joys of fatherhood?" Klaus asked him.

"I've said all I needed to say" Elijah argued going with a different approach.

"I forgot how much I liked this town" Klaus pointed out still looking around at the town.

"I didn't forget, all the centuries we've spent together and yet I can count on one hand the number of times that our family has been truly happy, I hated leaving here" Elijah agreed with him.

"As did I" Klaus nodded smiling softly to himself since this was the town in which he had fallen in love with Sophia, he had brought her here after he had turned her...from the moment he had gotten that message from Katherine's witch leading him to Mystic Falls and to Sophia he had felt something towards the brave women who had been responsible for leading him there, he had married that girl in the very courtyard Marcel had taken over and he was going to get it back and renew their vows because through everything he knew that Sophia was the love of his life and if this is what she wanted then she would have it, for he had vowed to always make her happy, to give her a better life than the one she'd been dealt as a human.

"What is on your mind, brother?" Elijah asked him.

"For a thousand years, I lived in fear...any time I settled anywhere our father would hunt me down and...chase me off, he made me feel powerless and I hated it, this town was my home once, my home with Sophia and in my absence Marcel has gotten everything that I ever wanted...power, loyalty, family...I made him in my image and he has bettered me I want what he has, I want to be king"

"And what of Hayley, Sophia and the baby?" Elijah pressed him reminding Klaus of the girl and their child, Klaus turned towards him. "I think this child could offer you the one thing that you've never believed you had"

"And what's that?" Klaus asks him.

"The unconditional love of family" Elijah tells him and they are looking at each other before Klaus nods.

"Tell Sophie Deveraux we have a deal, after all every king needs an heir" he smirked before turning to look out at the city once again.

Sophia's POV

Elijah had come back just in time as we heard the clock strike twelve and for a moment I felt fear but he walked in with Jane-Anne's body as a piece offering for more time to bring Nik around, Hayley and I watched them put Jane-Anne's body to rest before Elijah returned yet again stating that Nik had agreed to their terms and so the witches released Hayley to us except they warned us that if we tried to run or if Hayley left New Orleans than she and our baby was dead.

Come morning I was standing in an old plantation house that apparently they had once spent quite a bit of time in when they had first arrived here, I had known about it but I had never seen this place as they had built the abattoir before I came into the picture.

Hayley and I were both moving our way through the house removing sheets from the furniture to make this place a home given we were pretty much stuck here for now and had just pulled a sheet off a very old wooden bassinet making me smile when Elijah walked in right as Hayley began coughing as the dust stirred around us.

"You alright?" he asked her.

"Just dust" she smiled at him. "This place is ancient" Hayley added and I looked at her with a small smile.

"Yes it should serve our purposes" he replied and I looked over at him. "It's a sanctuary from our business in the quarter" he added walking towards us. "Right now you're the most important person in this family, you need a good home" I nodded my head at Hayley when she looked at me since she was carrying the most precious thing to me right now.

"I'm curious Hayley, in all this we've neglected to ask you how you feel?"

"About having a miracle baby of a vampire and a hybrid magically transferred into my body?" she asked and I chuckled a little nodding my head.

"Well it's a less conventional way of becoming a surrogate but yeah"

"I...I was abandoned when I was born and my adoptive parents kicked me out the second that I turned into a werewolf" she told us and my eyes widened since that was kind of horrible and no wonder she was the way she was with other people, this girl had to have trust issues. "So I don't really know how I feel about having a baby when I never really had much experience with good mothers" I frowned since this was already complicated. "But I trust you'll be a good one so I guess if I couldve been an unwilling surrogate for anyone I'm glad it's you"

"You barely know me" I argued since that was true and I honestly wouldn't put it past her to run for the hills and damn us all with nothing we didn't deserve, hell I didn't even know if I'll even be a good mother...mine had died when I was 19.

"I don't have to, I know you care about this baby already" she replied and I smiled at her.

"I will always protect you" Elijah told her and I nodded my agreeance since that I could promise. "You have my word on that"

"And noble Elijah always keeps his word" we all turn and see Nik leaning against the doorway, I frown and avoid his eyes looking down at the bassinet.

"Is it done?" Elijah asks him.

"As a matter of fact, yes" he nodded his head with a smirk. "You're underhanded deal worked quite well, Marcel was only too happy to accept my blood even as he accepted my heartfelt apologies, this man Thierry yet lives and I remain a welcome guest in the French Quarter" he says then pushes off the doorframe and walks towards us. "My only concern now is this coven of impudent witches"

"I believe them to be honourable, they did release Hayley to me" Elijah argued while I frowned agreeing with Nik, I felt like we couldn't trust the witches especially with this link between Hayley and Sophie.

"They weren't entirely forthcoming, Marcel obviously has something that they need given they don't want him dead" I cut in crossing my arms over my chest. "There must be a reason why" I stated looking up at Nik for the first time since he entered the room and he stared back at me.

"Agreed love" he stated before he and Elijah walked out of the room leaving me behind with Hayley, I rolled my eyes for the fact they seemed to want a word alone so I turned to Hayley.

"Let's find you a room, I'm sure this place has plenty for all of us" she nodded her head and we went upstairs to continue our work of pulling off sheets from the furniture and I helped her set up a bedroom for herself before I left her to settle in since despite the fact that she was carrying our child I didn't want to suffocate her and so I went in search of a room for myself given I didn't really feel like sleeping in the same bed as Niklaus right now.

I chose the one just down the hall from Hayley moving inside looking around a little as I ran my hand along the vanity mirror desk space as it reminded me of my one back in Mystic Falls in Nik and I's mansion and the thought of Mystic Falls made me think about my brothers, wondering what on earth they'd think of this situation...or the fact that they are uncles and smiled at the thought since I could imagine Damon being the fun Uncle type.

"I had a feeling you'd like this room" I looked up towards the door seeing Nik standing there and just like that the smile dropped from my face.

"I figured I'd give Hayley some space, I don't want to smother her when she didn't ask to unwillingly carry our child" I spat back at him as I moved around the room opening up a door on the far wall and saw it was attached to a bathroom.

"You and I just have matching tastes love" I turned raising an eye at him. "This was my room when we stayed with the governor of New Orleans in 1820, not long after we first arrived from Europe"

"Well then you won't mind my borrowing it while you go elsewhere" I spat venomously as I pulled the sheet in which was covering the bed watching his face fall.

"Sophia-"

"I don't want to hear it right now Niklaus" I cut him off as I turned to look at him. "You were going to let Hayley die, you were going to let our unborn child die and for that I cannot forgive you because you looked me in the eyes and broke a promise, so do me a favor and get out of my face until I've calmed down enough to look at it without seeing red" I moved towards him and he actually backed up out of the room allowing me to close the door in his face.

"I'm sorry my love" I heard him whisper through the door but sorry just wasn't going to cut it this time since not only did he break a promise but he broke a fraction of my heart with betrayal and it's more then I have ever felt and thinking it was enough to bring a sob to my lips as I turned and leant against the door before I sank down to the floor letting out all the stress, sadness and a small amount of happiness out in this one moment of weakness because tomorrow who knows what stood ahead of me in the fight to protect Hayley and my baby from everyone that wished it harm and that included Niklaus.

A/N: I actually wasn't going to do 'The Originals' and was going to come up with a different ending to Sophia and Niklaus' story but then surprisingly enough this came to me as a possible idea and once I got started writing it I decided it was something I could work with so I hope you as the readers all like this take with Sophia added in as my character and a way so it was Klaus didn't cheat on his love interest.

{Kind of got the idea after re-watching the vampire diaries to when Josie and Lizzie were transferred into Caroline's body so think of it as a very similar spell just Qaurter Witch style instead of Heretic}
