Sophia's POV
I woke up to the same old drama as I'd been called back to the compound seeing as Elijah had figured something out with some of Davina's drawings, his old lover Celeste and I'd been glaring towards Hayley suspiciously ever since I got here since this had to do with what her and Sophie had done and I knew she'd done something which is why I was sitting with her and Elijah waiting for the moment I could bring it up with her without Elijah around but I guess that was her plan.
"The Italians call them Strega, the Yoruba of West Africa call them Aje, meaning mother...where my mother was from they called them Hexa and here we call them witch" I rolled my eyes since Elijah was seriously more dramatic than Niklaus at times. "Over the centuries, vampires have fought them and fought beside them, bedded them and burned them whether adversary or ally, they have been a force to be reckoned with, their ancestral magic anchors this city there's never been one all-powerful witch until Davina"
"Who is now tucked in safe and sound down the hall under my protection" Niklaus announced as he walked into the room and I sat up straighter as he looked down at the arrange of drawings which all joined to create the drawing of Celeste. "Your Celeste was quite beautiful and a portent of evil according to our volatile artist in residence" I frowned avoiding looking in his direction especially when I felt his eyes on me.
"Yes, perhaps Davina's mistaken what she calls evil for power, Celeste was certainly very powerful in her day but she's been dead for over 200 years, I don't understand why all these sketches now?" I turned towards Hayley but she purposely avoided my eyes.
"Why does any witch do anything?" Niklaus smirked and sat next to me making me freeze rigidly especially when his knee touched mine so I quickly moved it away and further along the couch not missing his frown towards me or Hayley and Elijah's confused looks at the action but luckily a crash sounded down the hall changing everyone's attention from my cold actions towards Niklaus. "Well, that's going well" Niklaus smirked looking out the door and I rolled my eyes at him.
"If you were trying to win the girl's trust, perhaps poisoning her one true love was not the most splendid idea" Elijah replied.
"Oh, are there any more inopportune deaths you'd like to wave in my face?"
"Give me a month, I'll get you list" Elijah responded and I couldn't help the small snigger and Niklaus also laughed which shut me up as I avoided looking at them before there was another crash from down the hall.
"Young, old, dead or alive, witches are a pain in the ass" Niklaus spoke up before he got up and left the room.
"Elijah?" I heard Hayley speak up and I turned towards her. "There's something you need to know" I raised an eye wondering if she was actually going to tell him that she went behind his back but before she got the chance the compound began to shake like there's an earthquake and I stood up trying to stay on my feet as books fell out of the bookshelf before Elijah, Hayley and I rushed out onto the balcony looking around at everything shaking and falling over before my eyes looked out across the balcony and found Niklaus' eyes .
"What the hell is going on?" Rebekah asked from below in the courtyard.
"Davina" Nik said and I frowned since what the hell did this mean.
The others all went into a different room and I went down into the courtyard following Hayley since I had to know what she did since this all can't be a coincidence after that phone call.
"What did you do?" I asked keeping my voice barely above a whisper to avoid the vamp ears which could be listening.
"What?" she asked turning around.
"What did you do, you remember that I overheard your conversation with Sophie so I'll ask again, what did you do?" I spat at her angrily.
"I didn't do anything" she argued but I heard her heartbeat fasten.
"Don't lie to me Hayley, whatever you've done I hope it turns out to be worth it and doesn't cost me my baby because I already told you the consequences of that choice" I glared at her before I left heading up the stairs to find the others but I bumped into a solid pair of arms which immediately reached out to steady me. "Niklaus!" I was surprised to look up and see his eyes looking down at me.
"Everything okay, love?" he asked and I frowned taking a step back away from him.
"I'm fine" I replied with a small sigh.
"Yes well, I suggest you stay here and be safe" he said before walking off and I rolled my eyes since I didn't need to stay here and be kept safe but before I could follow him and argue that point I saw Hayley with Elijah.
"You don't have to eavesdrop. I keep nothing from you" I heard Elijah say smiling at Hayley.
"Yeah well I don't want to keep anything from you either and if you're going out to see Sophie, then there's something that you should know" Hayley began and I stopped hiding behind one of the pillars listening. "She called me and asked me for a favor, she promised me that she would help break the curse that Marcel put on my people in exchange for some information and I didn't think anything of it but then Davina started doing those pictures of Celeste-"
"Whatever this is, you have to tell me" Elijah cut off Hayley's rabbling.
"Sophie wanted to find Celeste's remains, so I went through your journals and I found out where you buried her and then I told her, I know it was stupid and it was snoopy and I...I should have just asked you" Elijah was silent. "Please say something, please"
"She wanted to be left in peace, when a witch's remains are consecrated that power fuels the rest of their community, Celeste did not want her remains to be found she made me promise to bury her where she would not be found, you not only violated my privacy you have broken my promise to her" I stopped listening heading back to the study sitting down as I looked down at the drawings all melded together to form the face of Celeste, another victim that fell to the tyranny of my husband's lack of emotions when it came to collateral damage...
I looked up when Elijah, Rebekah and Sophie suddenly walked into the room and right as I went to leave feeling like this was none of my business I was stopped by Niklaus entering and he seized my hand pulling me back into the room with him.
"Stay" he told me and I glared at him for ordering me around like some pet but bit my tongue as I sat down in a chair next to him watching as he poured himself a drink, one of the many he's already had today.
"So you have stolen the remains of the very person that Davina's been drawing for months, would you care to explain this startling coincidence?" Elijah asked speaking to Sophie.
"I can't, I didn't even know who Celeste Dubois was until I-" she cut herself off when Davina could be heard screaming and the compound shakes with another earthquake and I frowned especially as glasses fell from the bar and smashed behind us with none of us Mikaelson's flinching being used to it but Sophie jumped looking around frantically. "Was that Davina?" Sophie suddenly asked us once it was over.
"Charming little habit she's developed" Niklaus replied.
"And the earthquake I felt today?" Sophie asked.
"Also Davina and she's taken to vomiting dirt" Rebekah responded and I sighed feeling sorry for the poor girl since she's been through so much and reached over seizing the bottle off the table and grabbed a glass pouring some into it before dropping the bottle back onto the desk and took a sip.
"Oh we have a huge problem, I thought that we had more time but we need to complete the harvest now" I held back a scoff since the witches would like that.
"Said the desperate witch conveniently" I replied a little bitterly.
"I'm serious, that earthquake you just felt...a preview of the disaster movie that is about to hit us" Sophie argued shaking her head.
"Why should we believe you?" Elijah questioned.
"You've met Davina you know her story, for months now she's been holding all the power of the three girls sacrificed in the harvest ritual, a force that was meant to flow through her and back into the earth, one person was never meant to hold that much power, it's tearing her apart and it will take us down with it" Sophie explained and I frowned since that didn't sound particularly good for anyone.
Sophie went on to explain what would happen, as Davina's power continued it would cycle through the four elements...Earth which we've already seen, Wind...Water and finally Fire which would not be good for the French Quarter so we all set apart on different duties to prepare since the only way out was to complete the Harvest but there wasn't really much I could do so I made my way towards the kitchen feeling like I needed something to drink but stopped when I found Hayley looking upset and everything in me told myself to continue on but I couldn't and stopped.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked and she looked up.
"I told Elijah" she said straight away and I frowned. "I told him about telling Sophie about where Celeste was buried and now he's upset with me" I frowned but didn't really need to tell here that I'd already heard.
"Well did you really think he'd be okay with the invasion of privacy" I asked a little snarkily before I rolled my eyes. "In retrospect though, I'm sure he'll forgive you" I shrugged since Elijah wasn't the type to hold onto grudges especially with those he cared about. "What's all this?" I gestured to the canned foods, blankets and candles she'd arranged into piles.
"I want to take them to my family"
"The wolves?" I questioned with a small glare since she couldn't be serious but this weather was only going to get worse and the wolves out there weren't just her family, they were Nik's too and our babies...I let out a small annoyed growl. "I'll help, only because their defenseless out there" I sighed and she actually seemed surprised but I didn't say anything more as I started helping her gather supplies since a compound full of vampires didn't need canned food.
I looked up as I was packing blankets into a bag when high winds suddenly ripped through the compound rattling the shutters and I heard things toppling over in the courtyard making me frown knowing this was Davina.
"We're running out of time Hayley, this is still Davina" she nodded her head right as I heard voices in the compound.
"We sedated her too heavily" Elijah said and I frowned looking at Hayley and held up a finger signaling that she wait here while I headed out to them.
"Well if this is her sedated, I'd hate to see her otherwise" Niklaus replied picking up one of the chairs that had blown over. "We all agreed that Davina must be sacrificed, there's no need to let her blow the roof off our heads in the meantime"
"No way, you're not touching her!" Marcel suddenly yelled and jumped down from the second story balcony marching towards Nik and punched him in the face sending him falling back before Elijah placed his hand on Marcel's chest stopping him from advancing any further towards Nik.
"Ok, I'll let you have that one" Niklaus replied rubbing his jaw as he turned back to Marcel.
"Marcel, no one wishes to see Davina come to harm less than I but there is no scenario here in which we simply wait this out. She's going to die" Elijah cut in as ever being the voice of reason here.
"According to Sophie, the witch who screwed over everybody here" Marcel exclaims.
"The harvest was working before it was stopped, if a nonbeliever like Sophie Deveraux can come to have faith that these girls will be resurrected then I also, am a believer" Elijah argues again.
"I saved Davina from the harvest and now you want me to just hand her over?" Marcel asks us and I frown not seeing how we had much choice.
"Do you think that I'm happy about this?" Nik cut in glaring at Marcel. "If the witches complete the harvest, not only do they regain their power, we lose our weapon against them" I turned a glare onto him since that was not what mattered here and Davina was not a weapon but like that mattered to him. "The earthquake I was willing to chalk up to hideous coincidence but these winds, if Davina is not sacrificed then every inch of earth that shook, everything blowing about now will soon be drenched in water and consumed by fire"
"Oh, now you care about the city!" Marcel protests.
"We ought to, we built it" was Elijah's reply and I raised my eyes at it.
"And we all saw it burnt to the ground twice I will not let that happen again, do I make myself clear?" Nik added making me frown.
"Yeah, yeah" Marcel mutters before he leaves.
"Not a people person are you, Niklaus?" Elijah asks him and I smile just a little.
"Nonsense I love people, just on my way to warn a couple of prominent ones in case the weather gets out of hand, if you fancy yourself as pleur diplomatique perhaps you'd like to come along" Nik replies making my smile drop in confusion.
"No, soon Sophie Deveraux shall be consecrating Celeste's remains and though her actions are reprehensible, still I should pay my respects" Elijah replies as the two of them begin to walk out and Hayley clearly ignores my request that she stay put as she raced out behind me towards them still carrying a tray of canned foods with me following behind her.
"Hey, do you have a minute?" Hayley asked as Elijah walked passed her.
"Just on my way out" Elijah protested not even sparing her a second which was definitely a change and walked out with Niklaus behind him.
"Which one of us is the people person again?" Niklaus said to Elijah before he turned and I saw his eyes on me, I frowned and looked away listening to him leave following after Elijah as I packed more canned foods into the crates Hayley and I were preparing for the wolves but my ears suddenly picked up a commotion from upstairs so I left Hayley and sped up the stairs eyes going wide when I saw the two vampires laying dead on the floor with their necks snapped and Marcel standing by Davina's bedside.
"What are you doing?" I asked him and he turned towards me.
"Sophia, stay out of this"
"You can't do this Marcel, she's safer here" I stepped forward to intervene seeing he'd already pulled the IV out of the girls arm.
"Sorry about this Soph" I heard Marcel say right before a pain in my neck and everything went black.
"Sophia...Sophia...Soph?" I heard someone calling out and I groaned as I opened my eyes seeing Rebekah before the realization sunk in and I sat up looking around but Marcel and Davina were both gone.
"What the bloody hell happened?" Rebekah asked but my eyes locked with Nik seeing him looking down at me looking like he was hesitating to come near me but I could see the worried look in his eyes.
"Marcel" I groaned cupping the back of my neck feeling the stiffness that was left from having my neck snapped, the feeling never ceased to suck. "He took Davina" I told her as she helped me to my feet before she pulled out her phone clearly to tell Elijah.
"Rebekah?"
"He's taken the girl" Rebekah informed him.
"Who has?" he asked as if it wasn't obvious and I was kind of mad at myself that we didn't see it, I mean of course he'd try to save her the moment we brought up the Harvest and the grave reality that she had to be sacrificed.
"Bloody, bloody Marcel" Rebekah growled out angrily.
"And you wanted to run off and start a life with this backstabber" Nik spoke up and I turned to glare him since that was uncalled for.
"Says the man that was shacking up with him not two seconds before all this went down" I snapped glaring at him and his eyes shot up but the wind picked up outside slamming the shutters closed cutting off whatever he went to reply.
"Ok, we need to divide and conquer if we're gonna stand a chance, he could've gone anywhere"
"Well I'm here with Sabine, perhaps we could try a locator spell" Elijah suggested.
"I'll check the church, they might even be at the church it's the last place we'd think to look for them, right?" Nik suggested back and I frowned since I doubted that, Marcel wouldn't be that stupid.
"Ok you check the church, I'll check...everywhere else" Rebekah replied before we headed out going back downstairs going in different directions as the wind continued to pick up and I spotted Hayley still going with the supply gatherings but what I noticed was the tears rolling down her face.
"Hayley" I spoke up walking towards her carefully.
"What are you doing?" Nik suddenly asked walking up behind me looking at Hayley.
"I was gonna take these to the-"
"If you say 'bayou' I will find a nice comfy dungeon and throw you in it" Nik spat cutting her off and I turned to glare at him.
"You'll do no such thing Niklaus"
"This is not the night to be out there" he quickly argued looking at me while I continued to glare at him.
"For anyone" Hayley reminded him. "But some people don't have a choice" she added packing up more cans of food with Nik and I exchanging looks behind her before he let out a sigh and moved around her picking up two of the crates.
"Right, grab that lot and follow me, both of you" he said before walking off and I raised an eye sharing a single look with Hayley while I moved over picking up the other crate before we followed him to his SUV where I placed the crate into the back next to his before we were getting into the car and he was driving off with me sitting next to him and Hayley was in the back seat.
The whole time Nik was driving I kept looking over at Nik with wonder since I had no idea where he was taking us so I kept looking back at Hayley as well but when we were pulling up outside the church, he jumped out without even saying a word and I shared a confused look with Hayley before I too got out and approached the back watching him grab the crates shooting me a quick look but our eyes quickly turned off each other when lightning and thunder suddenly came from the skies so we headed inside with Hayley following us.
"We still haven't gone through all that you've already provided Klaus" Father Kieran said walking towards us.
"Well this newest lot isn't from me" he replied handing the priest the two crates he'd been carrying and the father passes those off to another guy while Nik took the other crate from me and added it to the guys pile.
"Oh, that's very kind of you" Father Kieran said looking at Hayley.
"Hayley" she replied supplying him her name and I smiled a little at her before I looked around at all the people taking shelter from the storm.
"And these people are?" I asked bringing it up.
"I asked Father Kieran to give them shelter, he suffers from an incessant desire to do good" Nik replied smiling over at me before he turned back to the priest. "But now I need you to be useful, Marcel and Davina have disappeared, I assume from the stupefied look on your face they haven't sought refuge in your attic"
"No, those days are gone" he replied making me frown since I felt a tad responsible since I shouldn't have allowed Marcel to get the upper hand on me.
"The energize you're resources, I don't need to remind you how important it is that they be found" Nik argued and the priest nodded before walking off.
"These people, they're werewolves" Hayley suddenly pointed out the obvious. "And the priest, he said that you donated the food you're helping them?" she asked him in shock.
"They're not your werewolves" Nik replied and my eyes widened in realization, these were his clan...his descendants...our child's descendants. "They're my clan from very far back, they've fallen upon hard times and their plight has brought out the philanthropist in me" he added smiling at her. "What can I say must be Elijah's influence" he smirked and I sniggered a little as he started to walk out.
"What do you mean your clan?" Hayley asked stopping him from leaving.
"The blood that runs in their veins runs in mine and in the child that your carrying" he replies turning towards her before he looks towards me. "Our child's"
"This family gets more complicated by the second" Hayley remarked and I scoffed out a laugh.
"Tell me about it Hayls" I laughed before I remembered her tears and shared a look with Nik gesturing my eyes for him to talk to her and he let out a small sigh.
"Listen Hayley, word of advice when dealing with Elijah, don't do as I do" he told her and I smiled at him. "Just apologize, he's accomplished in many things but he is a master of forgiveness" Nik added before he turned towards me sharing a look with me then turned and walked out leaving me with Hayley.
"He's right Hayley, Elijah doesn't hold grudges"
"Neither do you apparently" she pointed out and I raised an eyebrow in question.
"You...what are...I do so" I argued poorly and she smirked towards me, I rolled my eyes for the fact that I fell for it then walked out shaking my head as I hopped back into Nik's SUV avoiding his eyes as Hayley finally returned to the car and he drove us back to the compound to find myself being pulled into a room with the three Mikaelson siblings and Elijah telling us that Sophie failed with her task since the magic wasn't in Celeste's bones and that he wanted to use Esther's instead.
"It's taken 1000years but you've finally gone mad, our own mother" Rebekah protested.
"Yes our beloved mother who Niklaus has affectionately placed in a coffin in his basement, not daggered but quite dead" Elijah replied and I let out a sigh leaning back in my seat, it felt a little strange sitting here with them as I held no purpose here but Niklaus had gestured for me to be with them given we weren't really speaking with each other.
"Well she did try to kill us all" Nik smirked looking around.
"Well I say we put her to use and put her to rest once and for all" Elijah replied and I raised an eye since that bitch didn't exactly deserve to be put to rest. "Now if we bury our mother on land owned by one of her descendants, she becomes a New Orleans witch and we as her family share in that ancestral magic"
"We're vampires Elijah we can't practice magic or own property for that matter" Rebekah pointed out the flaw to his plan.
"Yes with regard to practicing magic that's where we'll need Sophie Deveraux, after we bury our mother she'll channel the power into herself with us participating in the burial and with the Harvest and as for owning property..." he went over to a set of drawers and pulled out a slip of paper. "Not all our mothers descendants are dead" he finishes and I frowned looking up.
"The baby" I supplied and he nodded his head.
"The baby" Elijah nods back. "The parish tax assessor's office is just outside of the quarter, Hayley now holds the title to the plantation" he handed the deed to Niklaus to overlook. "So if we bury our mother there and we consecrate those grounds, we can finish the harvest ritual" he explains while I share a look with Niklaus since I wasn't exactly comfortable with including our child in this but what other choice did we have.
"You're a bit of a mad genius Elijah, count me in" Nik finally said looking back over at Elijah as he put the deed on the table and stood up and then I felt his eyes one me so I sighed and nodded my head signaling that I agreed with the decision.
"Am I the only one thinking?" Rebekah suddenly spoke up looking at us like we were all mad. "Our mother was the most powerful witch in history, if we bury her we hand that power to our enemies to use against us" she pointed out and I frowned since I couldn't help agree with her there already having a feeling like this would come back to haunt us, Esther always did.
"Given our circumstances, I hardly see that we have a choice Rebekah" Elijah argued.
"I don't know why I bother, you two will just do what you want anyway and Sophia will just go along with it as always" Rebekah argued back making me frown since I didn't always go along with them.
"No, our decision must be unanimous" Elijah protested.
"This is not a democracy" Nik complained.
"You're quite right, this is family" Elijah replied and let out a sigh right as claps of thunder and lightning outside before we heard the rain start pounding down on the roof "Water, the next sign's begun" Elijah pointed out and I scoffed since as if that wasn't obvious. "Rebekah?" he asks her.
"Kill a demon today, face the devil tomorrow, count me in" she finally agreed.
"Well, this is no family reunion without our mother, I'll fetch her" Nik smirked before he walked out and I watched him leave with a frown before I looked back Bekah seeing her looking down before she got up and left so I stood up to leave as well walking down the hall and walked into Nik and I's room since I had to grab some clothes as I tried to ignore the heavy downpour outside since storms still freaked me out.
I went over towards the balcony looking out the glass panes as the rain rolled down the glass and the thunder boomed after the flashes of lightning passed through the sky lighting in the process trying to face my fears but I could feel my fists clenching at my sides so I shut my eyes and just forced myself to listen to the rain pelting down on the roof and the thunder claps clenching my teeth every time a clap of thunder boomed overhead.
"Love?" I didn't move, didn't open my eyes but I did feel the hands that placed themselves on my waist. "Don't be afraid my love, I'm here and I won't let it hurt you" I felt myself smile just a little bit as his arms wrapped further around my waist so I placed mine over his thinking about the familiarity of those words since he always meant it, he was always here for me and had never let anything happen to me.
"It's still irrational" I finally spoke letting out a sigh. "But lets go bury the wicked witch" I added turning around seeing him smirk.
I stood under an umbrella with Nik not even arguing to him holding me close with the water pouring down around us with my hood up covering my face and shielding it from the stray raindrops while Elijah and Hayley stood under his and Rebekah stood next to us and Father Kieran standing next to the hold where Esther's coffin laid ready to be buried.
"Did you find them, will he bring her?" Nik yelled over the heavy rain looking at Rebekah even though I could barely see two meters in front of me.
"He'll bring her" Rebekah yelled back.
"Are you ready to do this?" Father Kieran asked looking around at us and Nik's response was to pull out a small dagger and I looked down at it.
"Always and forever" he says before he slices open his hand then hands it to Rebekah and she does the same, then Elijah who then hands the dagger to Hayley and I watch as she frowns hesitating for a second looking up and when she meets my eyes she slices the dagger over her hand then Kieran takes the dagger and throws it into Esther's grave.
"It's done"
We don't waste any time and quickly make our way to the cemetery where we can do nothing but wait and hope that Marcel shows up with Davina and after nearly twenty minutes and doubts that he won't show up that was squashed when we saw flames begin to erupt on the ground.
"Fire" Sophie points out the obvious as Marcel walks into view carrying Davina over and sets her down and Sophie puts a blade into the flames and walks toward Davina. "Do you believe in the harvest?" she asks Davina.
"I believe" Davina replies and Sophie slits Davina's throat and I turned away since I didn't want to watch this, Davina was a sweet girl that didn't deserve this.
I felt someone grab my hand the moment I'd turned my head and I looked down seeing the hand and following the arm back up to its owner seeing Nik's eyes focused forward but he squeezed my hand with support as I turned back seeing Davina fall back and Marcel catches her in his arms laying her down next to the other three dead harvest girls with the rain stopping as the magic leaves Davina's body.
"After the harvest comes the reaping, their sacrifices made and accepted we call upon our elders to resurrect the chosen ones" Sophie chants but nothing happens. "We call upon our elders to resurrect the chosen ones..." again nothing happens. "Resurrect your chosen ones...please I beg..." still nothing and it's clear that it's not going to work. "No!" Sophie starts sobbing while I look up and see Marcel look toward Nik with hatred, then he vamp speeds away, I look down with silence feeling absolutely devastated for my sire-brother as I felt Nik's hand slip out of mine and I turned seeing he was gone, no doubt following Marcel and after a short seeing as Elijah was walking Hayley home so I sped home but stopped short just outside the courtyard when I heard Nik and Marcel.
"My condolences the girl is gone but don't lose perspective, we still have our community the vampires of this town..."
"I don't care about the vampires!" Marcel yelled at him. "She is dead, do you hear me?!" he continues and I feel a single tear roll down my cheek as I hear the rustling of clothes so I peered around the gate and saw Nik with his arms wrapped around Marcel.
"I'm sorry, you may think I know nothing of your grief but you are wrong, in the days after I fled this city I thought you were dead, it was years before I could speak your name so keenly did I feel that loss, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" I quickly made a move to leave heading towards the balcony instead and jumped to it letting myself into Nik and I's room since it was too late to head back out to the plantation house so I'd crash here but the moment I was getting ready to climb into the bed in just my underwear seeing as it was the best comfortable option I heard my phone rang so I quickly picked it up and my eyes widened when I saw Damon's name.
"Damon?" I questioned answering quickly.
"Hey little sister" he replied and my eyes shot open at the sound of his voice.
"I haven't heard from you in months Damon and you say 'hey little sister' when I do, do you have any idea how long I've been going out of my freaking mind, you're lucky I haven't throttled you!"
"Calm down Soph" I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
"Don't tell me to calm down Damon" I argued shaking my head before I took a steading breath. "So do you want to tell me why you've been ignoring me you giant A-Hole?" I asked and heard him laugh.
"There's the sister I know and love" I rolled my eyes at him. "Now I know what you and your psycho husband will really like" I could hear his scheming voice which made me raise and eye.
"Okay, well spit it out, not all of us have time to sit around drinking bourbon all day"
"Katherine's dying" he replied and my eyes shot open in shock.
"Say that again?" I asked him.
"Katherine's dying"
"How is that even possible?" I asked as I sped towards the closet and began packing up some clothes knowing this is something I'm going to need to see for myself to actually believe it.
"The night of Graduation, Elena gave up the cure by shoving it down Katherine's throat and she's been slowly dying the past couple of months-"
"Oh you mean the past couple of months that you've been ignoring me?" I cut him off.
"Okay I get it Soph but things have been kind of hectic in this neck of the woods"
"Yeah tell me about it, how do you think I've been faring, I'll be there as soon as I can" I told him through a heavy sigh. "And I want to hear everything Damon Salvatore"
"Will do bossy pants" he replied and even I could hear the smirk in his voice before he hung up so I finished packing my bags then headed downstairs passing by the courtyard freezing when I see Nik and Rebekah.
"...this did not go down the way I thought it would, you surprised me though you were quite resourceful today, how did you find them down at the docks?"
"You're not the only one with clever little spies in the quarter, Nik" Rebekah replied
"Sometimes I think I don't give you your due, little sister" I smiled a little at Nik's reply since he was all for surprises and family moments today.
"I knew Elijah's plan was mad, but I really thought it would work" Rebekah argued and I frowned since I had hoped it would work as well since the poor girl deserved a break after all she had been through but of course life was cruel in this world.
"So did I, I was sure Davina would survive there was so much life in her.
"What about the power, four were supposed to rise and none did, where did all that power go?" Rebekah asked while I frowned finally walking forward wheeling the bag behind me which drew they're eyes. "Where the bloody hell are you going?"
"I finally heard from my idiot twin brother" I replied looking mostly at Nik as I said this. "The dopplebitch is dying" I added and saw his eyes raise with interest since he knew what I called the doppelgangers and more specifically Katherine. "I'm going there"
"I'm going too" Nik smirked standing up walking past me seemingly to grab some things which left me with Rebekah.
"What is going on between you and Nik?" she asked making me frown as I sat down.
"I don't even know anymore Beks, he drives me crazy and not always in the good way, I don't condone what he does I never have but I've also never been able to resist him and that's my greatest weakness I'll willingly admit that" I replied frowning down at the ground. "Tell Nik I'll be in the car" I stood and walked away getting into the car after throwing my car into the back and it wasn't long before Nik was walking towards the car and placing a bag in the back climbing into the drivers seat.
"Ready love?" he asked and I nodded my head figuring best to just not say anything which he clearly understood as he focused on the road as he pulled out of the garage onto the road to drive us all the way back to Mystic Falls.
